00:01:08However, tonight, here at the Bayfront Center, it's gonna turn into a war zone.

00:01:15This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Clash of the Champions.

00:02:47your very first Clash of the Champions.

00:02:49We have a tremendous lineup, as everybody knows.

00:02:51Five titles on the line.

00:02:52Everybody's waiting for Vader and Ric Flair for the WCW world title.

00:02:57Absolutely, Tony.

00:02:58When they talk about Clash of the Champions in world championship wrestling,

00:03:02that's what we got.

00:03:03And let's not forget, Road Warrior Hawk against Ravishing Rick Rue.

00:03:07As a matter of fact, that is our very first matchup as we go to the ring.

00:03:10And Michael Buffer.

00:03:11He's simply ravishing.

00:03:14Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Bayfront Arena in St. Petersburg, Florida.

00:03:26This is the WCW Clash of Champions.

00:03:29This first match sanctioned by the International Board of Records for

00:03:33the Heavyweight Championship.

00:03:36Introducing first, coming in tonight at 255 and

00:03:41one-half pounds, wearing the notable colors from Robinsdale, Minnesota.

00:03:46He's been unbeatable since winning the world title at the Fall Brawl.

00:03:51This past September, he's a former world tag team champion and

00:03:55former US heavyweight champion.

00:03:58Ladies and gentlemen,

00:03:59presenting the master of the rude awakening, the world heavyweight champion,

00:04:05The- Cut the music.

00:04:08What I'd like to have right now is for

00:04:13all you fat, out of shape, Florida flunkies,

00:04:20keep your mouth shut and pay some respect

00:04:25to the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

00:04:35Yes, he is simply ravishing, Rick Rude.

00:04:40And let's welcome his opponent to the ring, ladies and

00:04:45gentlemen, wearing the black and gold, weighing 262 pounds.

00:04:52He's a former motor of the world champion,

00:04:56along with his lifetime partner,

00:05:01he was part of one of the most feared and

00:05:05powerful teams in professional wrestling history,

00:05:11the road warriors.

00:05:13Tonight, this international superstar from Chicago

00:05:19is the challenger, he is Road Warrior.

00:05:24Road Warrior Hawke.

00:05:29So the table is set for the clash of the champions first matchup.

00:05:37There's the big gold belt and Randy Anderson, the referee, holds it up high.

00:05:43And Jesse Ventura, what an ovation from the fans, many of them wearing the paint.

00:05:48Road Warrior Hawke in his second consecutive clash of the champions.

00:05:52Now, our last clash of the champions, he and Dustin Rhodes,

00:05:55he was the surprise partner, defeated Rude in the equalizer.

00:05:59And now this one is for the world heavyweight title as recognized by

00:06:02the International Board of Directors.

00:06:04Well, Road Warrior Hawke's getting his shot here, Tony.

00:06:06It's a once in a lifetime opportunity against ravishing Rick Rude, the champion.

00:06:11Whoa, and we're getting a lot of jive talking going on in there, Tony.

00:06:19Now, something Rude always likes to do is try to intimidate his opponent.

00:06:23I don't think that's gonna work, though, with the Road Warrior.

00:06:26I would agree, and I think that picture showed that.

00:06:31I mean, when you grow up on Halstead Street in Chicago,

00:06:34you're not gonna get psyched out.

00:06:40We've talked so much, and you heard Michael Buffer talk about

00:06:43the master of the Rude Awakening.

00:06:45It is true, and everybody knows that if he puts it on you,

00:06:47regardless of your size or who you are, you're gonna go down.

00:06:51That's been the track record.

00:06:53But you have a man with this.

00:06:55Well, Rude is real cozy right now.

00:06:58He's got a great body.

00:06:59There's no question about that.

00:07:30It's our opening matchup of the Clash of the Champions.

00:07:32One of five titles in a big grudge match we never expected to see.

00:07:36Flying and Bryan and Stunning Steve still to come, and now.

00:07:42I don't even wanna broadcast that one.

00:07:45The break of a, don't you agree so quick.

00:07:50Well, do whatever you want, you know.

00:07:52Rude, a little tentative, and he's usually not too tentative to go up high.

00:08:03It's not often that you see ravishing Rick Rude afraid to

00:08:06knuckle lock against somebody.

00:08:09But right now, he's having second thoughts.

00:08:11Road Warrior Hawk, there's one hand, they're locked up.

00:08:15This is your traditional wrestling test of strength.

00:08:17Oh, and Rude backs off again.

00:08:20Apparently, he didn't like the grip, Tony.

00:08:23He's complaining he's all greased up.

00:08:25He's saying the Road Warrior's got grease all over his body.

00:08:28Posing oil.

00:08:31Posing oil for a wrestling match, and you buy that?

00:08:35Posing oil.

00:08:36You've never gone out to your Walmart store and bought posing oil?

00:08:40Nope.

00:08:42I don't think I have any use for posing oil.

00:08:45You don't like go home and pose for Lois in front of the mirror?

00:08:52Back in the neck, and a big chop to the chest.

00:08:55Forearm shot from Ravishing Rick Rude.

00:08:58And Rude's going to work on Road Warrior Hawk.

00:09:02Rude taking the early offensive here.

00:09:03Comes down with a big crashing elbow.

00:09:06Stomped his hand, wow.

00:09:07There you go, Rude.

00:09:09Using everything possible to try to get the advantage.

00:09:13But as history has proved out, you cannot take this guy off his feet easily.

00:09:18And there you go.

00:09:19And I was talking about the Rude Awakening.

00:09:21I'm not so sure the Rude Awakening's going to be that effective on Road

00:09:25Warrior Hawk, at least early on.

00:09:27Look at this power from the Road Warrior.

00:09:35Rude's in trouble.

00:09:39He hits hard, and now Hawk allowing Rude to get up.

00:09:48Take a look at this.

00:09:50Well, Road Warrior Hawk being very methodical,

00:09:52it's a psych out game on the champion.

00:09:54Big body slam drives him hard into the mat.

00:10:00There, you see me right on the knee.

00:10:02That's bad right there on the thigh.

00:10:04Yeah, and on the-

00:10:05Great set of tights.

00:10:06Beat them all, it says.

00:10:08I beat them all.

00:10:09So he's beat you, too?

00:10:45Look how methodical Hawk is going in there,

00:10:47but Rude goes to the eyes.

00:10:52And Rude's going up to the top early.

00:10:54This may be a mistake this early in the match, Tony.

00:10:58Well, Hawk seems to be dazed.

00:12:15with a big clothesline by the Road Warrior.

00:12:17Drives Ravishing Rick Rude out to the floor.

00:12:23And that's where Road Warrior Hawk followed him out.

00:12:26Here they are out on the floor.

00:12:27The 10 count is going on.

00:12:29The referee called for the bell, and it's

00:12:31going to be a double count out.

00:12:33And it sure don't sit well with the fans, Tony.

00:14:31And that's stunning Steve against Flying Brian,

00:14:34the Hollywood Blondes.

00:14:36I may shed a tear during that one, Tony.

00:14:40But right now, The Equalizer going

00:14:41to work on The Big Shockmaster.

00:14:45Shockmaster, who is a man who certainly

00:14:48has a tremendous amount of fun and enjoyment wrestling

00:14:51and going to the ring, was saying hello to the fans

00:14:54here at ringside.

00:14:55And then The Equalizer jumped on him.

00:15:00And The Equalizer feels this is his most important match

00:15:02here on Clash of the Champions.

00:15:04Well, you know what's remarkable about this?

00:15:05The Equalizer's huge.

00:15:07I mean, he is a big, big man.

00:15:10And yet, he looks small next to The Shockmaster.

00:15:13He's got the leg draped over, choking him

00:15:15on that middle rope.

00:15:17Big kick to the guts.

00:15:19Another one.

00:15:21Get back and let him off the ropes.

00:15:24Now, I had a steam.

00:22:43And Lord Steven Regal, quite frankly, doesn't know what hit him.

00:22:48I thought Lady Di was the only one that cheated.

00:22:52I have no comment on that statement.

00:22:57No, wait, no, it was the other one, the redhead, wasn't it,

00:23:00that got caught on the beach, half naked.

00:23:04You talking about Fergie?

00:23:08So bluebloods do indeed cheat.

00:23:10I don't know, I can only attest for

00:23:12what happened at Disney MGM with Lord Steven Regal.

00:23:16Side headlock, Johnny B Bad is well prepared, like we said, for

00:23:19this television title matchup, second of five title matches here tonight.

00:23:24Look at this.

00:23:24And a good reversal into a hammer lock by Bad.

00:23:27Side headlock takeover, and he cinches up on that headlock on Lord Steven.

00:23:32Bad may be making a mistake here, though.

00:23:35He may wanna get this a rougher matchup, because I don't know how much he wants to

00:23:39go hold for hold with Lord Steven Regal, the consummate wrestler.

00:23:43Well, he's doing quite well right now, and of course, look at this,

00:23:46hanging on now, Lord Steven into a head scissors, Johnny B Bad.

00:23:50There's always been a lot of- He could suffocate with all that stuff Bad's got

00:23:54around his legs.

00:23:58What are those, garter belts?

00:24:00Apparently they are.

00:24:05Bad, look at the quickness exhibited by Johnny B Bad.

00:24:09Takes him over, side one, and a one count.

00:24:12I'm waiting for the day Bad comes out with fishnet nylons on with those

00:24:18Hey, but I tell you, Johnny B Bad is very flamboyant.

00:24:23But you do know there's gonna be a lot of style associated with Johnny B Bad.

00:24:29But also, here's a guy, Jesse, who has worked hard developing his style,

00:24:36developing his wrestling repertoire, and really has improved a great deal.

00:24:40It's obvious right here.
