00:00:49It was a gamble, but the WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan found his surprise

00:00:54was a shake of the hand and not a slap in the face from Macho Man Randy Savage.

00:00:59Faces of fear, Kevin Sullivan and The Butcher,

00:01:02are going for broke when they climb in the ring against Monster Mania.

00:01:06But beware, the awesome Vader has purchased two tickets at ringside

00:01:10to see Hulk Hogan up close and personal.

00:01:13And rumor has it, Ric Flair may make an appearance tonight.

00:01:23And you are looking live at the entertainment capital of Las Vegas.

00:01:30Yes, the Clash of the Champions is on the air.

00:01:35This is an historic night.

00:01:37It's the 30th Clash of the Champions live on DBS and the 20th anniversary

00:01:42of this great sports pavilion at Caesars Palace on the strip in Las Vegas.

00:01:47Hi, everyone.

00:01:48Along with Bobby the Brain Heenan and Mean Gene Oakland, I'm Tony Schiavone.

00:01:52We are on the air.

00:01:53And what a tremendous tag team main event that we have.

00:01:57Later on in the telecast, the Monster Maniacs are together,

00:02:00Hulk Hogan and the Macho Man Randy Savage,

00:02:02against two of the three Faces of Fear, Kevin Sullivan and The Butcher, Mean Gene.

00:02:06That is going to be a huge match, Tony Schiavone.

00:02:08But let me point out, they say five matches on this great schedule tonight.

00:02:12But there may be more.

00:02:13As you know, Hardy, Race, and Vader have bought two ringside seats.

00:02:18They're in the building.

00:02:19Also in the house, I hear, is the Nature Boy, Ric Flair.

00:02:23Put him into the mix, and we have got one fantastic evening at hand.

00:02:28Well, you know, the last time The Butcher got his hands on Hulk Hogan,

00:02:31he put him to sleep.

00:02:33Well, this is a city that never sleeps.

00:02:35Hogan, you better have your jammies on, because you're going to bed real early.

00:02:46Ladies and gentlemen, this first contest on the Clash of the Champions,

00:02:50it is the match that WCW fans across the country

00:02:55voted for during our interactive program,

00:02:58the one you asked for, for the World Television Championship.

00:03:04It is set for one fall with a 15-minute time limit.

00:03:09Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by the greatest promoter

00:03:13on the face of the earth, Colonel Robert Parker,

00:03:17along with Ming from Minnesota.

00:03:20Weighing 248 pounds, the World Television Champion,

00:03:27the enforcer, Arne Anderson.

00:03:34Well, the World Television Championship is on the line.

00:03:37It is sold out at the Sports Pavilion here at Caesars Palace,

00:03:40the 20th anniversary of this great event.

00:03:44Let's go back to Gary Capetta.

00:03:45And ladies and gentlemen, the challenger in this contest

00:03:49for the World TV title.

00:03:52He's from Macon, Georgia.

00:03:54He weighs 235 pounds and says he's the prettiest

00:04:00in world championship wrestling.

00:04:03Johnny B. Brown.

00:04:08Well, bringing the former champion, Johnny B. Brown,

00:04:11making his way to the ring.

00:04:12And like Gary Capetta said, and like we heard at the top,

00:04:15this is the match fans demanded.

00:04:18The return bout on the WCW Wrestling Hotline.

00:04:21Because it was back on the 8th of January on a Sunday night,

00:04:26Arne Anderson won the television title.

00:04:28He cheated to get the win.

00:04:30And the fans demanded the rematch.

00:04:32And here we have it in the Clash of the Champions.

00:04:35Oh, he cheated to win it, right?

00:04:36Yeah, I was gonna say that.

00:04:37You gotta throw that in, huh, Shivani?

00:04:39Arne Anderson's the television champion.

00:04:41And I predict he's gonna keep it.

00:04:46One fall, 15 minutes, like Gary Capetta said,

00:04:48for the World Television title.

00:04:53WCW has invaded the entertainment capital

00:04:56world, Las Vegas.

00:04:57And Johnny B. Brown's gonna explode another bad blaster.

00:05:00It's been a great week for us.

00:05:02The superstars have been here at Caesars Palace

00:05:05at the Nappy Convention.

00:05:07Now he's gonna get us all for that chunk.

00:05:10The convention with the television producers

00:05:13and executives from around the country.

00:05:16And you know, everyone was talking about the match

00:05:18with Hogan and Savage, the Mega Maniacs, Monster Maniacs,

00:05:23whatever they call themselves.

00:05:26There you see Nick Patrick, the referee,

00:05:28holding up the World Television title belt,

00:05:29a belt that Arne Anderson has held a couple of times.

00:05:32This is yet another title reign for the Nappy Convention.

00:05:35This is yet another title reign for the Enforcer

00:05:38against a very fired up Johnny B. Badd.

00:05:40Johnny B. Badd won the television title

00:05:42back in September at Fall Brawl

00:05:43when he defeated Lord Steven Regal.

00:05:45And at that time, it was the birthday of his mother.

00:05:49Oh, isn't that touching?

00:05:51Well, anyway-

00:05:51It's his mommy's birthday.

00:05:52May I continue?

00:05:53Go ahead.

00:05:54He celebrated the birthday

00:05:55with a World Television title win.

00:05:57His mother and father and his whole family,

00:05:59they're all here tonight to watch Johnny B. Badd

00:06:03all eyes the world on this man,

00:06:05and the challenger to regain the television belt.

00:06:07Well, now he's fighting for his pride.

00:06:09He's fighting for his family.

00:06:11He wants to win the title in front of momsy and daddy.
