00:00Surah Al-Tawbah has shown us how the cancellation of the agreement between the Muslim army and the non-Muslim army has happened.
00:29Surah Al-Tawbah has also shown us the characteristics of the polytheists who are very hostile to the Muslims.
00:38What are the guidance from Surah Al-Tawbah that we can apply in the context of our lives today?
00:44Let's find out in My Quran Time, Quran Salat and Infaq.
00:59Surah Al-Tawbah
01:10Surah Al-Tawbah
01:20Surah Al-Tawbah
01:23Surah Al-Tawbah
01:50Alhamdulillah, today I would like to introduce our panel.
01:53We are together with Al-Fadhil, Dr. Muhammad Hafiz Saleh, who is a lecturer at the Faculty of Quran and Sunnah at the University of Science, Islam, Malaysia.
02:03He is a member of the Fatwa Council of the Kingdom of Melaka.
02:07Assalamualaikum, Doctor.
02:08Waalaikumussalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
02:11How are you, Doctor?
02:12Alhamdulillah, I'm fine.
02:13You look very enthusiastic today.
02:15Alhamdulillah, insyaAllah.
02:17Is there a cancellation of Surah Al-Tawbah, Doctor?
02:19Yes, insyaAllah.
02:20Allah, mashaAllah.
02:21Let's not forget our special guest, Al-Fadhil.
02:25Assalamualaikum.
02:26Waalaikumussalam.
02:28We are wearing batik today, right?
02:30Oh, it's the same.
02:31Yes, it's the same.
02:32Doctor, today the audience in the studio seems to be quite full.
02:36MashaAllah.
02:37We get the honor of being attended by, mashaAllah, the audience that I feel very happy to see.
02:43InsyaAllah, from the side of righteous people, insyaAllah.
02:46Who is it, Ustaz, that you want to introduce to our audience?
02:48MashaAllah.
02:49We see that today, usually, the audience is women.
02:55But today, mashaAllah, the heroes of today.
02:57MashaAllah.
02:58Heroes of the Quran, insyaAllah.
02:59We, Alhamdulillah, welcome the guests from the Association for the Service of Malaysian Education,
03:06from Keluang.
03:08And JPKK, Keluang.
03:15JDT.
03:17Alhamdulillah.
03:21MashaAllah.
03:22So, in front of us, there are a lot of teachers, right?
03:24Yes.
03:25MashaAllah.
03:26Jazakumullahu khairan kathiran.
03:27Ja'al Allah juhudakum fi mizani hasanatikum ya'umal qiyamah.
03:32InsyaAllah.
03:33May Allah Almighty make your efforts in educating the children of the nation in a good way in the hereafter.
03:39InsyaAllah.
03:40So, insyaAllah, ladies and gentlemen, we will continue with our recitation session for today.
03:46But before that, I would like to ask Al-Fadl, Ustaz Tirmizi, to read the first verse first.
03:53Just don't forget, Ustaz.
03:54Surah At-Tawbah, the first verse.
03:56So, there is no basmalah.
03:58I'm afraid that when Ustaz reads basmalah, our audience will be surprised.
04:01Eh, you said something else the other day.
04:02Now, you're doing something else.
04:03Please, Ustaz.
04:04Alright.
04:05A'udhu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem.
04:35Surah At-Tawbah.
04:44This is the statement of the conclusion of the relationship between Allah and His Messenger to the polytheists,
04:48that you have made an agreement with them.
04:51Ladies and gentlemen, may Allah Almighty have mercy on them.
04:53This verse is a declaration from Allah that all the agreements that have been made with the polytheists,
05:00have been cancelled.
05:02Why?
05:03Because of the violation of the agreement from several parties on their side.
05:08So, we can see here how Allah Almighty has emphasized the aspect of the agreement.
05:12And actually, if we go through the following verses,
05:15it tells us a lot about how the Muslims need to maintain the agreement.
05:20So, here, I want to ask.
05:23I want to ask Al-Fadl Doctor.
05:26Actually, how do we as Muslims,
05:29because we can see here that Allah Almighty has emphasized the aspect of the agreement.
05:33So, how do we as Muslims, how should we view each and every agreement, Ustaz?
05:38Please.
05:39Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.
05:40Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
05:43Alhamdulillahi wassalatu wassalamu ala Rasulillah.
05:46Thank you, Al-Fadl Doctor Arif, for that question.
05:49As a Muslim, Allah Almighty has said,
05:54I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan.
05:57O you who believe, fulfill your covenant.
06:01Allah Almighty has said, O you who believe,
06:04fulfill your covenant.
06:07So, regarding the question raised by Ustaz Arif just now,
06:11we as people who believe in Allah Almighty,
06:15we must be careful.
06:17It is not too easy for us to make a covenant.
06:21Because we are worried that when we make a covenant,
06:24we will not be able to fulfill it.
06:26That is why we must know,
06:29something that we have promised,
06:32the law is obligatory for us to fulfill.
06:35That is why if we are not able to fulfill it,
06:39then we are advised not to make a covenant.
06:44And the thing that Allah Almighty wants to tell us in Surah At-Tawbah,
06:49is how the disbelievers, the polytheists,
06:53they break the covenant that they have made.
06:57While that thing is hated by Allah Almighty.
07:01And in a hadith,
07:03Rasulullah SAW has described that,
07:07the people who break this covenant,
07:10who do not like to fulfill this covenant,
07:13they have the characteristics of hypocrites.
07:16As for him,
07:19among the signs of hypocrisy, there are three.
07:24First, when he lies,
07:28and when he makes a covenant,
07:31he breaks the covenant.
07:33He does not fulfill the covenant.
07:35Third, when he gives a trust,
07:39then he betrays the trust.
07:42Therefore, as people who believe in Allah Almighty,
07:45we must be careful.
07:47And if we remember that we have made a covenant,
07:51when we make a covenant,
07:53the first thing we must remember,
07:55we cannot easily say,
07:57you have made a covenant that day.
07:59I forgot that I have made a covenant.
08:01No.
08:02The first thing, when we make a covenant,
08:04we must remember that covenant.
08:06And the second,
08:08when we have made a covenant,
08:10we must fulfill it.
08:12We must fulfill that covenant.
08:16Regarding the verse that talks about the covenant in Surah At-Tawbah,
08:23there are a few principles that we must know.
08:26First,
08:27as long as we hold on to the covenant,
08:33we must keep the covenant.
08:37However,
08:38when the other party has broken the covenant,
08:43then there is no longer any covenant between us and them.
08:49Therefore, the conclusion that Allah Almighty wants to teach us
08:54through this surah,
08:56that there is a very different gap between the disbelievers
09:00and those who believe in Allah Almighty.
09:04That is,
09:05people who believe,
09:07when they make a covenant,
09:09they will fulfill that covenant.
09:12In short,
09:13when we make a covenant with someone,
09:15we must never forget our covenant.
09:18Sometimes,
09:19we make a covenant with our children.
09:22We make a covenant with them,
09:23that tomorrow,
09:24I will buy them candy,
09:26or chocolate.
09:28But,
09:31we make a covenant with our children.
09:33Even if we don't do it,
09:34our children will not remember it.
09:37They will not forget it.
09:38How is that, Ustaz?
09:39So,
09:40the things that are related to the covenant,
09:43or the family members,
09:45we must fulfill them.
09:48Why?
09:49Because,
09:50when we make a covenant,
09:52then we make a covenant with our children.
09:55If we don't fulfill it,
09:57it will be a bad example for our children.
10:01As if,
10:02they will be a test.
10:04If they don't fulfill the covenant,
10:07they will say,
10:08my father is the same.
10:10My mother is the same.
10:11Therefore,
10:12as a mother and a father,
10:13when we make a covenant,
10:15we must think about it first.
10:17Don't make a star in the sky.
10:20But,
10:21we must make a covenant
10:22that is within our ability,
10:25insyaAllah.
10:26Okay, ladies and gentlemen.
10:27So,
10:28if you make a covenant with your children,
10:29whether you want to take them out,
10:31or take them to the supermarket,
10:33make sure you fulfill the covenant.
10:35Yes, Ustaz.
10:36We don't go anywhere.
10:37There are many more questions we would like to ask together.

13:37We are back again in My Quran Time.
13:39Quran Salat and Infaq.
13:41Ladies and gentlemen.
13:43We are still with Dr. Al Fazil.
13:45Dr. Muhammad Hafiz.
13:47Lecturer at Faculty of Quran and Sunnah
13:49University Science,
13:51Islam, Malaysia.
13:53Today we are going to ask about
13:55Surah Al-Tawbah, page 187
13:57and page 188.
13:59Ustaz,
14:01I want to ask a little bit about
14:03Surah Al-Tawbah.
14:05It is said by scholars that
14:07Surah Al-Tawbah is named Al-Tawbah
14:09because there are many
14:11words of Al-Tawbah itself.
14:13For example,
14:15in the third verse,
14:17there are words of Al-Tawbah.
14:19In the fifth verse, there are words of Al-Tawbah.
14:21Similarly, in the eleventh verse,
14:23there are words of Al-Tawbah.
14:25Al-Tawbah does not refer to
14:27the repentance of believers.
14:29Al-Tawbah refers to the repentance
14:31of non-believers.
14:33I would like you to explain a little bit
14:35about the importance of Al-Tawbah
14:37and how we should
14:39relate to
14:41those who are repenting.
14:43Please, Dr.
14:45Alhamdulillah wa salatu wasalam
14:47wa ala rasulillah.
14:49Thank you for the interesting question.
14:51Although in Surah Al-Tawbah,
14:53Al-Tawbah refers to
14:55those who have
14:57broken the promise,
14:59but Allah SWT
15:01still commands them to
15:03return to Allah SWT.
15:05Alright.
15:07The verses mentioned in Surah Al-Tawbah
15:09refer to one
15:11big mistake done by
15:13polytheists, where they
15:15broke the promise with
15:17Muslims, which is the Hudaibiyah promise.
15:19So, whenever
15:21they make a mistake,
15:23the first thing we should know is that
15:25the mistake cannot
15:27be ignored.
15:29We cannot close our eyes
15:31to see the mistake happening.
15:33However, we should remember
15:35so that
15:37the action is
15:39stopped.
15:41That is why in the concept of repentance,
15:43whenever we want to repent to
15:45Allah SWT, we must
15:47stop from doing
15:49the wrong action.
15:51Alright. So, in the concept
15:53of repentance to Allah SWT,
15:55we should know that
15:57Allah SWT himself said
15:59in Al-Quran,
16:03Indeed, Allah SWT
16:05loves and loves
16:07those who repent to
16:09Allah SWT.
16:11It is mentioned in a hadith
16:13about all of us.
16:15He said,
16:17Every child of Adam
16:19is at fault.
16:21We are at fault with
16:23Allah SWT.
16:25We are at fault with our family.
16:27We are at fault with our partner.
16:29We are at fault with our parents.
16:31Sometimes, we are at fault
16:33with our children,
16:35our neighbors.
16:37We are at fault with a lot of things.
16:39However, he said,
16:41Whoever has done
16:43wrong,
16:45he should repent to
16:47Allah SWT.
16:49Whenever
16:51we make
16:53a mistake,
16:55we realize it,
16:57we repent to Allah SWT,
16:59Allah SWT
17:01is very
17:03happy and
17:05Allah loves those
17:07who repent to Allah.
17:09Therefore,
17:11when it is mentioned in Al-Quran
17:13about repentance,
17:15among those who
17:17believe in Allah SWT,
17:19there are those who repent.
17:21Allah said,
17:31O believers,
17:33repent to
17:35Allah SWT
17:37with true repentance.
17:39The scholars
17:41asked,
17:43how to
17:45repent?
17:47I took the view of
17:49Imam Ibn Kathir.
17:51Those who want to
17:53repent to Allah SWT,
17:55must imagine three
17:57situations.
17:59First,
18:01what is happening
18:03now,
18:05what has happened,
18:07and what will happen.
18:09These are the three situations.
18:11The first one is about
18:13now. If he really
18:15wants to repent to Allah SWT,
18:17the sins he committed
18:19must be stopped now.
18:21He must stop immediately.
18:23That is a person who repents to Allah.
18:25Even if something has
18:27happened,
18:29he regrets what he did.
18:31He must feel guilty,
18:33feel remorseful,
18:35and ask forgiveness from Allah SWT.
18:37What will happen
18:39is that
18:41he repents.
18:43O Allah, help me.
18:45O Allah, I don't want to do this anymore.
18:47I know if I commit a sin to You,
18:49O Allah, there will be a bad effect
18:51on me in this world,
18:53there will be a bad effect in the hereafter.
18:55The blessing of time will be lost.
18:57The blessing of sustenance will be lost.
18:59The blessing of life will be lost.
19:01We are determined
19:03not to do it anymore.
19:05Those are the three conditions
19:07mentioned by the scholars.
19:09Now, stop committing
19:11that sin.
19:13The sin that has passed,
19:15we must feel remorseful,
19:17we must ask forgiveness.
19:19When the time comes,
19:21let's not repeat it.
19:23There is another condition.
19:25If the sin
19:27is related to
19:29someone else,
19:31we must ask forgiveness
19:33from that person.
19:35If it is related to someone's wealth,
19:37we must tell him,
19:39ask for halal from him,
19:41or we must pay
19:43back to him.
19:45May Allah SWT
19:47guide us
19:49to feel
19:51the importance of repentance
19:53in our lives,
19:55so that we can return to Allah SWT
19:57and become a servant
19:59loved by Allah.
20:01The most important thing
20:03in repentance is
20:05so that when we return
20:07to Allah SWT,
20:09we no longer commit
20:11any sins to Allah SWT.
20:17How important is repentance
20:19for us,
20:21since we are humans who
20:23commit many sins.
20:25We want to focus on the fifth verse,
20:27but before we ask questions,
20:29I want to ask
20:31Ustaz Tirmizi,
20:33I saw him waiting,
20:35when is Dr. Arief going to call?
20:37No, he gave me a chance to read.
20:39This verse is a bit long for you,
20:41so I want you to read it
20:43with the song Ji Harkau.
20:45If possible, I want to give more time
20:47to our guest.
20:49Oh, it's okay.
20:51Our guest is also curious
20:53Sina Ghazal
21:23Surah Al-Fatihah
21:41Surah Al-Fatihah
22:01Surah Al-Fatihah
22:03Surah Al-Fatihah
22:15Surah Al-Fatihah
