00:00Cassandra Lee Ong filed a new complaint with the Justice Department.
00:05More than 50 individuals were charged with involvement in the Pogo Company, Lucky South 99, and Whirlwind Corporation in Porac, Pampanga.
00:14This is what Louisa Erispe reported.
00:18Cassandra Lee Ong is no longer in jail for her involvement in the Pogo Company, Lucky South 99, and Whirlwind Corporation in Porac, Pampanga.
00:27Because of the new complaint filed by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission and PNP-CIDG to the Department of Justice,
00:36Cassandra Lee Ong is the one who is said to be the owner and incorporator of the companies.
00:41She is one of the incorporators and the owner of Whirlwind Corporation.
00:46And aside from that, it is clear from the evidence that she ran Lucky South 99.
00:53The complaint she will face is Qualified Human Trafficking in Person, and it includes 53 others.
01:00According to the DOJ, aside from Ong, Whirlwind and Lucky South 99 are the ones running the company.
01:07Based on the complaint filed, they believe that the two companies are the same.
01:12For them, Lucky South 99 and Whirlwind Corporation are the same.
01:18As I said before, it is a grand implied conspiracy.
01:22And aside from that, they did something that is often done in the corporation law, piercing the veil of corporate fiction.
01:29This is very important because we should not allow the criminals to use the corporation law, the layering, to do what the criminals do.
01:41The witnesses in the complaint are 10 Chinese and 4 Filipinos working in Lucky South who experienced abuse in the company.
01:51But Paok believes that Lucky South has a deeper problem because the company is involved in a series of cases of human trafficking.
02:01We have been saying for a long time that Lucky South 99 is notorious within the POGO communities
02:08because they are the biggest pickers of people.
02:12They buy people from the casinos.
02:16There is a group of Chinese group of kidnappers.
02:23They are loan sharks in the casinos here in Metro Manila.
02:27They are looking for people who are vulnerable to be loaned.
02:31Then they sell them to the POGO.
02:35Aside from Cassandra Lee Ong and her associates,
02:39one of the complainants is a Singaporean national, Zhang Ji, who used to be the owner of Lucky South.
02:46Zhang Ji also believes that he helped Alice Guo in Singapore and Indonesia.
02:51That's why it's possible that Lucky South has a connection with the former Bamban Tarlac mayor, Alice Guo, who is still being investigated.
02:59Meanwhile, in a complaint filed by the Commission on Elections against Alice Guo for misrepresentation complaint,
03:07Comelec issued a new extension for Guo's company to file their counteraffidavit until Wednesday, September 12.
03:16Luisa Erispe for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
