00:00This is something that we are going to debut after 49er football games every single week
00:06throughout the year.
00:08It's a little something we call Brockster's Millions.
00:13It's time for Brockster's Millions.
00:15You can have a million dollars right now and forget the whole thing, or you can go for
00:21the big one booster, the 300 million.
00:24Oh, what a dive by Brock Purdy.
00:28Brock Purdy's values skyrocket or take a nosedive this week.
00:32But if you fail, you don't get diddly.
00:36Purdy.
00:37And he's out!
00:38He's dead!
00:39For the latest Brock Stock Watch, here's Willard and Dibbs.
00:44I do like that.
00:45Brock stock.
00:46Brock stock up.
00:47Brock stock down.
00:48What do you think?
00:49Brock stock and three smoking barrels.
00:50I think we start the baseline at 60 million.
00:53For me anyway, the Dak Prescott contract.
00:56If he's going to reset the market, he's going to have to be spectacular.
00:59Last night, I would say Brock stock up, slightly up.
01:04If it was an indices and we were starting at 60 million, I'd put him at probably 60.4
01:09million a year.
01:11I mean, you could look at it one of two ways.
01:14At the start of the NFL week, which starts on Thursday night, Brock stock was at 55 million
01:19because that was the top of the market.
01:22Now two things happen.
01:24A, Brock played well, scored over 30 points without Christian McCaffrey on Monday Night
01:29Football against a defense that all of you took as the number two defense in fantasy
01:34football in your draft last week.
01:38And Dak Prescott reset the market at 60 million.
01:41So I'd argue this is one hell of a week for Brock and his millions because he wasn't spectacular,
01:48but that's not what this is about in this moment.
01:50The market went from 55 to 60 and Brock went out there and went on eight straight scoring
01:57drives against a defense that we all really, really respect.
02:01I don't know if they're actually what they're cracked up to be, but the Jets are supposed
02:04to be one of the top five defenses in the NFL this year.
02:08And it did not look that scary to the 49er offense last night.
02:12But I will reiterate the key, without Christian McCaffrey.
02:17That's why stock went up this particular week.
02:21Without Christian McCaffrey, Brock's offense still moved.
02:25Let's see him do it without the laminated play sheet.
02:27Then I'd be really impressed.
02:28Why?
02:29But why does he have to do that?
02:30He doesn't.
02:31Laminated play sheet's not going anywhere.
02:32Well, not having Christian McCaffrey, a guy who probably would have been at least a little
02:37bit rusty having not played at all in the preseason.
02:40This is not peak McCaffrey and you didn't have him.
02:43So instead you had a guy with fresh legs who ran the ball 28 times and was mostly unstoppable.
02:48So yeah, the name was different, but the efficiency was the same.
02:53I'm looking at the number, pass a rating of 89.9.
02:57Not spectacular, but it didn't have to be QBR, which is ESPN's metric.
03:02He had the fifth best game in QBR behind only Derek Carr, Baker Mayfield, Anthony Richardson
03:09and the aforementioned Josh Allen.
03:10I wonder what that rating would have been if Brandon Ayoub had held onto a ball in his
03:13bread basket.
03:14Exactly.
03:15Probably would have been close to the top.
03:17Top three.
03:18Yep.
03:19Yep.
03:20There's no doubt about it.
03:21So yeah, that's the way I kind of look at it, especially because the thought is that
03:24Christian McCaffrey is his emergency break glass guy.
03:28It's not just that he can run the ball really well, but Christian is such a factor in the
03:32pass game.
03:33Now Mason spent a lot of work this off season trying to learn how to catch the ball and
03:39run routes.
03:40And he had one really nice third down conversion, but that was it.
03:44Like when I look at an NFL quarterback, that's what I want to look at.
03:48I want to look at how involved are your wide receivers?
03:52Because that's what young quarterbacks struggle to do.
03:55If they're checking down all over the place, it's running backs, it's tight ends.
03:59It's like Isaiah Likely the other night with Lamar, da-da-dink, da-da-dink, da-da-dink.
04:04But if you're able to, and this is what Jaden Daniels needs to do next, like he had a really
04:08nice opener, but his wide receivers were almost not involved at all.
04:13Go through the 49er receiving chart.
04:16They had 12 catches.
04:18George Kittle had two, I'm sorry, had four.
04:21Kyle Juszczyk had two and Jordan Mason had one.
04:26His wide receivers caught 12 of his 19 completions.
04:32That's somebody who is extending the, pushing the ball downfield a little bit.
04:37Yeah, and he only threw for 231, but that's about all you needed to throw for because
04:41you had a lot of drives that were set up by great runs and you had J.P. Mason who was
04:46dominant and in rhythm and the offensive line was in rhythm and you were able to run it
04:51so effectively that you didn't have to have Brock Purdy throw it that much.
04:54And so for me, it's not a diss to just point out the quarterback rating or the fact that
04:59he didn't throw a touchdown pass.
05:01He didn't have to, and your offense and your team was still that dominant.
05:04I agree with you completely.
05:06Yeah, it's not like a write home about it type of a game, but stock up for me just on
05:11that baseline.
05:13He played without Christian McCaffrey and they scored 32 points.
05:16That's it.
05:17I mean, that really is the headline, the big takeaway.
05:20And the rest of it is, you know, win the game and win the turnover battle.
05:25Those are the two things that he has to do if he wants to have his millions continue
05:28to go up.
05:29Mike in New Jersey next up, Doc Feeley on Christian McCaffrey in five minutes.
05:33Hey Mike, you're on with Willard and Dibbs.
05:34What's up?
05:36What's up guys?
05:37Can you hear me?
05:38Good.
05:39All right.
05:40Gotcha.
05:41All right.
05:42I just wanted to clarify one thing.
05:43Uh, the other day I was in the chat, I was the one that said Superbowl or bus and you
05:47were like, no, you don't Superbowl or bust up the whole thing.
05:50Just to clarify, I didn't mean that.
05:52Like I didn't mean Superbowl or bust, blow everything up.
05:56What I mean is, see how we looked last night with everything that we had without McCaffrey,
06:03it's Superbowl to me or failure because it's our, we're good.
06:08We're championship level team.
06:10Mike.
06:11I don't disagree.
06:12Yeah.
06:13I don't disagree with that.
06:14And that's why I just, that's why I choose to use a different word.
06:19It's just not catchy.
06:20I know everyone wants to do Superbowl or bust like no Superbowl or like super disappointed
06:25failures.
06:26What Mike said.
06:27I like it with the sirens in the background.
06:29He kept it.
06:30He kept it real.
06:32He's in New Jersey right now and all streets in New Jersey at all times.
06:36No doubt.
06:37Yeah.
06:38Like, sure.
06:39You can, that's fine.
06:40Yes.
06:41And I do think that last night cements Mike's opinion into many people's minds.
06:45Like you are the best team in football, right?
06:48And if that's what you put out as a product, you should be playing in February.
06:51Okay.
06:52But there's always, there's always context.
06:55You know what I mean?
06:56Did Packer fans have Superbowl hopes this year coming into the year?
07:00They probably still do.
07:02Okay.
07:03It's just an MCL for Jordan Love.
07:04If it's a quarter of the season.
07:05Yeah.
07:06And you're already, you're already on one.
07:08Sure.
07:09The backup gets paid too.
07:10Not, not much.
07:11We'll see how Malik can do.
07:12I'm pulling for him.
07:13Nine of starter didn't get paid much, but you know what I'm saying?
07:16Like what, what is the story of the journey?
07:20That's all.
07:21That's all I'm saying is we got to see, you know, two years ago when they didn't go to
07:26the Superbowl, was that a failure?
07:28When Brock's arm fell off?
07:29Was that a failure?
07:30Yeah.
07:32How many of you know they're on their fourth quarterback by the end of the year?
07:34It was insane that they made it that far.
07:36Everybody thought that they had the better team than the Eagles that day.
07:38Not everybody.
07:39Not everybody.
07:40I don't even remember who was favored in that game.
07:42The Eagles.
07:43It was in Philly.
07:44So not everybody thought that they were going to win.
07:45They were supposed to lose.
