00:00He gotta put up a hundred, a C-note for sure.
00:05Hasn't lived up to that contract yet, through two games.
00:09Neither Williams nor Brandon Aiyuga.
00:10And he looks agitated when they ask him, Brandon Aiyuga, after the game, about his production
00:15or their lack of.
00:16And I'm like, damn, Brandon, I don't know why you're mad you won, you got the chicken,
00:21but you gotta understand, you only put up four for 40, we want more.
00:26This is Kyle Shanahan from yesterday on how Debo Samuel got hurt.
00:33He told me he thinks he did it on that, when he caught, I think it was like the third to
00:36last play, they had a blitz down in the red zone, he caught the high route, breaking in.
00:41He says he thinks he did it on that play.
00:42I think there was only like two or three plays after that play, though.
00:46So that's Kyle Shanahan saying it happened late in that ballgame, and he won't be playing
00:54the next two weeks.
00:56Who steps up?
00:57You got it on Purdy?
00:58I got it on everybody.
01:00I think that...
01:01Defense?
01:02I definitely believe that the guy who's going to be, let's say, looked at the most is Brandon
01:11Aiyuga.
01:12This week.
01:13Because it's just too obvious.
01:15Even in the quarterback league.
01:17Sorry.
01:18What do you mean?
01:19Like Marcus Thompson, I keep citing that article he wrote.
01:21He could have wrote it about Aiyuga, but Aiyuga already got paid.
01:24So he wrote it about the guy that I think the biggest microscope is on, even though
01:28I said, Kyle, it is Brock Purdy.
01:30See, I think it's Aiyuga.
01:32And the reason I think it's Aiyuga is because he's already paid, though.
01:35That's right.
01:36That's right.
01:37He's already paid.
01:39So do your job and catch seven balls for 132 yards.
01:45But if he does or does not do that, his ATM, when he gets that direct deposit, that's already
01:51taken care of.
01:52If you slide over to Purdy, we've talked about it.
01:55Even the aficionados.
01:57He's playing for, nobody wants to say it, but I'll say it for him.
02:01He's playing for the bag.
02:03And if he keeps turning in Minnesota type of outings, does that affect or impact the
02:08bag?
02:09Well, I'm not talking about the bag.
02:10I really am not.
02:11I'm talking about performance and production.
02:14And Brandon Aiyuga got paid.
02:18And now they need him more than they've needed him probably in the last four years.
02:21In the last four years, because they're down so many weapons.
02:26So the pressure's on Brandon Aiyuga.
02:29It just is.
02:30And if he's not ready, then he's going to get criticized in a big, big way.
02:37And ditto for Trent Williams.
02:39I mean, the 49ers offensive line allowed six sacks.
02:45That's too many.
02:47And Trent Williams is supposed to be the anchor of that offensive line.
02:51And they were getting after him like as soon as he hiked his stunt.
02:53So I was like, man, maybe he was holding on to it too long.
02:56I came away the second time on the second watch, like they were on his ass.
03:02This is from Austin in San Jose.
03:04Goo, it's the second game of the season.
03:07Cousins is coming back from an Achilles injury.
03:11Relax.
03:13He's too good to count out.
03:15Yeah, Austin.
03:16No, I can't take that moment.
03:18That was just, defense will prevent you from, I don't recall an easier drive in that scenario
03:25in a long time.
03:27I don't know what the Philly defense was doing.
03:30Oh my gosh.
03:31Like, is it 7-on-7 out here?
03:34I mean, you know what it reminded me of?
03:36Seriously, give it to me.
03:37Last year's game against the Niners, when Kirk Cousins picked them apart, 35 for 45,
03:443 plus 100.
03:45But there was more resistance from the Niners.
03:47Was there?
03:48Well.
03:49Not that night.
03:50Yeah.
03:51Before halftime.
03:52Shout out Wilks.
03:54That's right.
03:55That was the play that really, um.
03:56And we hadn't even brought up Nick Sorensen.
03:58I mean, how much pressure is on his unit, Stani, to do something to stop Stafford, even
04:03though he'll be without Nakua and, uh, I hate injuries, and Cooper Cutt.
04:07Well, my question to Niner fans is, when you look back at the Vikings game, what was the
04:12bigger issue, offense or defense?
04:15To me it was offense, but how could it not be?
04:19Oh, mine's D.
04:20They scored 17 points.
04:22But you gave up, they ran the ball down your throat.
04:24Did they?
04:25Yeah, the offense gave you 14 points and you're down 6, get us one stop, and you allow them,
04:31with 10 minutes left in the game in the fourth quarter, you allow them to go take 6.46 off
04:36the clock or something like that.
04:37Like, that's, outside of Kurt Warner's, I mean, Fred Warner's, Stani, what was there
04:42to be excited about on the defensive side?
04:44I'm not telling you the offense wasn't bad, but it was a collective failure.
04:49The defense, a 97-yard touchdown pass, and your pass rush was non-existent?
04:56How dare Minnesota think they could dial up a, uh, a, a bomb in their own end zone?
05:01How dare they not think so?
05:02They have the best receiver in football.
05:04You gotta utilize him.
05:05Right, but you got a pass rush led by Bosa, and Leonard Floyd, who took the day off.
05:10Was it Thursday for him?
05:14I mean.
05:15Thank you, Evan.
05:16Three.
05:17I don't get it.
05:18I'm trying.
05:19Oh.
05:20That's a four.
05:21I get it.
05:22A four!
05:23Early for me.
05:24I mean, you know what I was thinking?
05:25It's a good thing you didn't make.
05:26It's a good thing you're not a pro football player.
05:27Because?
05:28Well, you wouldn't be able to play in those Thursday games.
05:30Now, let, one joke was enough, but the follow-back, that's where you went wrong.
05:35Al Michaels basically takes the night off.
05:37Stani, I'm worried about Al.
05:38Hey, why?
05:39You ain't into it, but.
05:40I'm worried about a lot of our guys.
05:43Brady was better, real quick.
05:44No, don't.
05:45No.
05:46I gotta tell ya.
05:47No.
05:48It had something to do with his voice being, whatever the.
05:51No.
05:52Stani, listen to me.
05:53He was inside as opposed to outside.
05:55His voice sounded stronger and louder in regard to over the game.
06:00I thought Tom was better in week two.
06:02No.
06:03I said it.
06:04Ain't no no.
06:05No.
06:06Not your nephew.
06:07No.
06:08You don't get to do that.
06:09Reacting to information.
06:10No, you don't get to do that.
06:12That's so weird.
06:13You wrote him off after one game.
06:14No, I didn't like it.
06:15No, you deserved it.
06:16You said.
06:17We gotta talk about Brady.
06:18I said he wasn't good and he wasn't bad.
06:19That's what I said.
06:20No.
06:21He was.
06:22I can't hear.
06:23I'm talking at this time.
06:24He was loud and it was inside.
06:26There's that D word that I'm gonna mess up.
06:28Decibels.
06:29What in the NBA when the.
06:31I'm saying it wrong.
06:32Help me out.
06:33Decibels.
06:34Yeah.
06:35His was louder inside.
06:36I liked him.
06:37All right.
06:38I knew you were going to do that.
06:45I knew you were going to do that.
06:46I met the criteria.
06:47I can't believe you gave him a C plus.
06:49Who?
06:50Brock.
06:51Which I had given him.
06:52I gave him a C minus.
06:53See?
06:54Like two turnovers, 90?
06:57320 yards passed.
06:58Dude, I mean, when are you, are you watching the games at the end where they got a lot
07:01of that at the end?
07:02Well, Kirk Cousins got a lot of his at the end.
07:05But it mattered.
07:06Oh.
07:07Yeah.
07:08Those 49ers trying to drive that last.
07:09They needed to score.
07:13This is from our guy Murillo Mason.
07:15Jordan Mason had 48 carries in two games.
07:18If he runs more, he will likely get injured as well.
07:23Brock will be throwing more on Sunday.
07:26I think that's Murillo.
07:27Well, how deep is your running back room?
07:30Like why is Garindo not getting a touch?
07:33And if you think, and I'm just, Stani, things I think about.
07:36He ran one time.
07:37If it's about trying to limit touches so guys don't get hurt, you're done.
07:41And I don't think Kyle's that type coach, but all we heard all preseason was Garindo
07:44could do this.
07:45He could line up outside.
07:47Like somebody's got to be the backup to the backup, but not to see Garindo get more than
07:52one touch.
07:53And it was a bad play.
07:54Who, oh, Willard and Tims double teamed me up today saying what happened when they gave
07:59him the ball.
08:00I believe it was them.
08:01It was ugly.
08:02But Stani, Kyle's got to trust other guys.
08:05If you're telling me, oh, he only got 20, Mason that is, in his second game because
08:10of the workload.
08:11I don't think Kyle thinks like that.
08:13Well, I mean, are we really talking about a rookie running back making a difference?
08:20The problem is they got a lot of young guys on that team right now.
08:24And they all struggled a little bit.
08:26Cowling botched a punt.
08:28Oh man, got bailed out.
08:29You're right.
08:30You know, Garindo obviously didn't play much.
08:31Who else?
08:33Poonie obviously didn't have a great game if he was part of that offensive line.
08:37The secondary.
08:38Mustafa got in that game.
08:41By the way, why did...
08:43They pulled him.
08:44Go ahead.
08:45Yeah, but he had a good answer here, Shanahan, as to why he put in Mustafa's team.
08:52Give it to me.
08:53Look who took...
08:54Oh man.
08:55We'll do something else.
08:56How do you play without Debo and McCaffrey next week?
09:02Yeah, I mean, always when you lose real good players, it's always tough, but it happens
09:05all over the league.
09:06And it's a huge part of this league and a huge part of this game.
09:09Gotta deal with it.
09:10Yep.
09:11How come fans worry more about injuries than the coach?
09:17Because it does most often, when it's the big boys, it alters the result of the game.
09:23And to be honest, it didn't do that Monday against the Jets a couple weeks ago, but it
09:29did have a bearing on the outcome, wouldn't you say, Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
09:36And I didn't think the Vikings had enough star power or guys with name and recognition
09:41to where they could stunt Kyle Shanahan's office, but Brian Flores did that.
09:47So here we go to the Rams, who look like a mass unit.
09:49If you look at who's injured, but nobody's going to cry for you.
09:52Stani, you got...
09:54You think Kyle would rally the troops, right?
09:59Yeah.
10:00I think that's part of football, though, rallying the troops after injuries.
10:03This is Kyle Shanahan assessing the guy they can't win without.
10:10You know, I don't know how to totally answer that.
10:14I think Trent played decent.
10:15Those are definitely things he'd like to have back, but I didn't see him get tired or fatigued
10:20or anything like that.
10:21So I don't really relate anything to that.
10:24It was just about the game yesterday.
10:27So the two guys who, he was looking at fatigue, like, you know what I mean?
10:31I guess it was hot in there.
10:33It was hot in the, what is it, U.S. Spank Stadium?
10:38No, you're asking the wrong person.
10:40But anyway, what about the heat?
10:44Because now we're getting into the nitty gritty.
10:47No, I mean, I think we gave up some big plays.
10:51I think, you know, when we had a chance to stop them for like a 57-yard field goal and
10:56we gave up basically a 20-yard scramble at the end to give them an easy field goal.
10:59I think when you give up a blocked punt, I think when you give up a 97-yard touchdown
11:03and not make them work for the drive.
11:07And I think us struggling on third down with our two turnovers, I think is more about it.
11:11It was hot in there, but, you know, especially for a dome, it's unusual for it to feel muggy
11:15and stuff inside a dome, which that was the first time I'd been a part of something like
11:18that.
11:19But that has nothing to do to me with outcome of the field, what happened on the field.
11:25And in a lot of arenas, a lot of stadiums, a lot of domes.
11:31They won the time of possession battle 35-25, so if it was hot on the field, the Minnesota
11:38defense was out there longer than the 49ers defense.
11:41So I mean, I don't think that's a big deal.
11:46But then again, there are a lot of people out there that are talking about the 49ers,
11:51it's a veteran team, they're getting a little bit older.
11:54I don't know, maybe it was an issue.
11:59Oh, by the way, I know what I wanted to say.
12:02You wanted the 49ers to dial up more blitzes?
12:04Yeah.
12:05They did.
12:06According to PFF and The Athletic, they blitzed four times against the Vikings.
12:13And by all accounts, they blitzed on the 97-yarder, right?
12:16Yeah.
12:17And nobody got home.
12:18Arnold was 4-for-4 on blitzes, 133 yards, and a touchdown.
12:25So that makes it worse, though.
12:27You blitzed and you couldn't get home.
12:30And nobody in the stadium knew you blitzed.
12:33And maybe that's why Fred Warner, the captain for Stiney, said what he said about, I'm tired
12:37of my bads.
12:39And that's why he was asked about that play, and he said others were at fault too, not
12:45just the two guys, Odom and, who was it, Odom and, who's that beat?
12:51Jair?
12:52Yeah, Jair Brown.
12:53Odom and Brown.
12:54Yeah.
12:55And, you know, Brown's a pretty young player also.
12:59So maybe that had something to do with it.
13:02They are incorporating, you know, I remember reading the story in The Athletic before the
13:05season started.
13:06If you look at this year's draft, those guys are playing.
13:12They're not playing a ton other than Poonie, but those guys are playing.
13:16Cowling played, he muffed a punt.
13:18He looked great in the first week, and the preseason, I thought he looked really shorthanded.
13:24But he muffed one.
13:25That could have been another big issue.
13:28The one he muffed.
13:29It really would have been curtains, you know?
13:31I still can't get over going in 27-7, and Jones fumbling that ball after he got cracked
13:38by Fred Warner, man.
13:40Just incredible.
13:41Steiner, he's a badass, man.
13:42Duh.
13:43But he really is playing at a high level.
13:45Yeah.
13:46And I just, I don't know why I wrote this down.
13:48Just because maybe I'm looking for something, anything.
13:53Fred Warner's the 10th highest paid player on the team.
13:56And he's playing by far, by far, the best football of anybody on the team.
14:03And I was listening to Baldy on, with the guys this morning, Steiner, this is year seven
14:07for Fred.
14:08I know.
14:10Feels like a baby.
14:11Did I hear it right?
14:12He has not missed a game?
14:14That part I didn't hear, but I wouldn't, I wouldn't put it past him.
14:17That is correct.
14:18It is correct.
14:19Damn.
14:20And he started as a rookie.
14:21BYU?
14:22209, that's the Tracy area, Stockton.
14:28Maybe Merced, Modesto, maybe.
14:31Monday we're going to be talking about why the ball wasn't thrown to IUC.
14:37That's what we're going to be talking about on Monday.
14:39Because now you're talking about who?
14:41Jennings.
14:42I mean, who's getting targets then?
14:44Kittle.
14:45Kittle.
14:46Because Kittle's been, I like what I'm seeing from him in regard to the production in the
14:51passing game.
14:52Can I put a rat on the table?
14:53Go ahead.
14:54Well, it's actually not.
14:55Well.
14:56Now we got two.
14:57Ah, nevermind.
14:58You can't do the thing three times.
14:59All right.
15:00I'll just, can we put the rat on the table?
15:04We got boy.
15:05Jennings is better than IUC right now.
15:08He's better.
15:09Better player.
15:10We'll see.
15:11No, right now, we know.
15:14He's ready.
15:15He's a pro.
15:16And what if Brandon's listening?
15:17No, seriously.
15:18I don't care.
15:19And he would tell you, hey, old man.
15:20Yeah.
15:21I'm ready.
15:22Are you?
15:23Get open then.
15:24Mouth.
15:25There was one of those things floating around about it wasn't PFF about the lack of separation
15:27from Niner receivers.
15:28Uh-oh.
15:29You don't pay a guy that can't get open 30 mil a year, and that's what the Niners did.
15:33So do with that what you want.
15:35Can we put the rat on the table?
15:38Uh-huh.
15:39He's not worth 30 million.
15:42So you're questioning Lynch and Kyle.
15:44Yeah.
15:45And York.
15:46I am.
15:47Say something to him.
15:48Okay.
15:49I think they messed up.
15:50I'm questioning how much they paid Brandon IUC.
15:52Paid him a lot of money.
15:54They paid Bosa a lot too.
15:55Yeah.
15:56How's that looking?
15:57Two sacks.
15:58Two sacks, baby.
15:59You are so mean.
16:00Lost the game again then, Stiney.
16:01How many disruptive pressures?
16:02A lot.
16:03Stiney, stop.
16:04Oh, boy.
16:05He set the edge.
16:07He played Brock Purdy.
16:08No kidding.
16:09And I do think of what Darnell would look like with the Niners fully loaded.
