00:36Yep, still undefeated, but the thing is, offense is just not,
00:41it's just not up to par. It's not good. Their defense is
00:45light sound. People will say, oh, well, it's Bo Nicks. It's
00:48the Denver Broncos, but if you watch these games, their
00:53defensive line is unreal and their secondary is really
00:57**** good. Linebackers are great. Everybody's fast. They
01:00fly to the ball. So, I'm never worried about the defense. The
01:05offense is a major problem in Pittsburgh. Major. So, would you
01:08make the switch? We were posting that on, we were
01:10posting that on Pick Central. Would you make the switch to
01:12Russ? If Russ is healthy? Yes, 100%. I would. Really? Yes. You
01:17don't think that, you don't think that causes a riff in the
01:20locker room or two and oh? Listen, I understand. I get the
01:25people who are saying he's two and oh, we have momentum. Um,
01:29you have to stick with him. Okay. Sure, I get that. What
01:33the Steelers are doing is not sustainable at all. Like,
01:36you're gonna beat teams like the Broncos. Um, you'll beat
01:40bad teams. Like, you'll beat a Jaguars team right now. You
01:42know what I mean? Teams like that but. Giants. Yeah, you
01:45you're not gonna beat Bill's teams. You're not gonna beat
01:47Ravens teams. You're not gonna beat Chiefs teams. Uh like
01:51that. I mean, I was. I don't even think Russell Wilson
01:54would make you guys beat those teams that you just. I don't
01:56think so either. Now, you have a point. Like, the offense will
01:59get better under him. Like, your first game, you won with
02:01six field goals. This last game, you threw a back shoulder
02:03fade to Darnell Washington. That was the only touchdown
02:06that you have all year. I do think Russell Wilson is a
02:09better pure passing quarterback than Justin Fields but I think
02:13feels a little more mobile and I think that helps your offense
02:16a little bit even though they still can't **** score. Yeah. I
02:19don't know. I think you're stuck in the same spot that
02:21you've been the last three, four years regardless of who
02:23you play. Yeah, but the thing is now, it's like you you
02:25bought Russ in Tomlin made it seem all offseason like
02:30Russell Wilson is our quarterback number one. Even
02:32when Russ got injured, he's not gonna lose his job to injuries.
02:36What what are you gonna do? You're gonna so so what's the
02:39plan? Fields is gonna play the whole year and you're never
02:43gonna see Russ or Fields is gonna play until yeah, we can't
02:47we can't score twenty points and we lost two three games in a
02:50row. Now, Russ is gonna come in and what with four or five
02:53games left like you're saying make the switch early. Yeah,
02:56make the switch early because you can always go back to
02:59Justin Fields. You can always go back to Justin Fields. If
03:02you don't make the switch, you you are never gonna know what
03:08you have in Russell Wilson and people hate Russell Wilson.
03:11That's fine. I I get that. I get he's not who he was before
03:15but he didn't have a terrible year in Denver this last year.
03:18He put up some stats. Yeah, he I mean sure is some of that
03:23garbage time. Yes, of course, but when they were ****
03:25getting, that's what Denver does. All they do is score in
03:28garbage time. Yeah. So the thing is like you're never gonna
03:30know what Russell Wilson has unless he's fully healthy and
03:33you put him on the field and if he **** sucks, okay, you're
03:37done. You're not married to him, right? They have him for
03:40one year for **** one 2 million dollars. Then he then he's gone
03:44and then that's it or hey, if Fields is your **** guy and you
03:48want to ride this guy and he's your quarterback running one
03:51right now, go trade Russell Wilson. There's no reason for
03:54him to be on the trade for him right now. There's no reason
03:56for him to be on the team then and I to your point, I think
03:59the whole Steelers locker room knew Russ would be QB one going
04:02into the season. So, if they, if Russ is healthy week three
04:05and they switch to Russ, I don't think that cause any
04:08turmoil in the locker room. I feel like cause a little bit
04:10being two and oh but yeah, a little bit. Yeah, but them
04:12being two and oh has legitimately nothing to do with
04:16the offense. Justin Fields. Yes. The defense is winning
04:20these games. The offense is not winning these games. No, it's
04:26the defense. You're right. 100% to defense but it's it's tough.
04:30I mean, this was I talked about this and obviously people who
04:33watch the rundown probably don't listen to my Steelers
04:35podcast but me and my buddy, Kevin, I want to say about a
04:40month and a half, 2 months ago, we talked about Russell Wilson
04:45possibly getting hurt or something like that. Fields
04:48comes in and wins a couple games. The offense doesn't look
04:52good and then what do you do? So, the Steelers are in the
04:55exact situation that that you laid out that I laid out and
04:59the toughest situation you could possibly be in. This
05:02would be so much different if Russ, if Russ was healthy, he's
05:06starting game one. That's number one. He starts game one.
05:09If he if he plays bad, he's probably going to get pulled
05:12after 3, 4 weeks. Who knows but then it's field and field
05:15is your guy for the rest for the rest of the season. You
05:18don't go feel of Russ Fields. Yeah, you don't play roulette.
05:21Playing roulette is dangerous. No, but you can in this
05:24situation where. Right. It's Justin Fields who was always
05:27quarterback too. Then you go to QB one. If he doesn't pan out,
05:30you go then stick to Justin Fields and don't put Russ back
05:34in for the rest of the season. I like that. I'm okay. Bears
05:38last night. The offensive line looks like absolute ****
05:41challenges are just as bad. What's the vibe out in Chicago?
05:44Nicky smokes in terms of Chicago. The Bears O line is
05:47like the border under Biden. They just let everyone in bro.
05:50I mean they would Caleb would Caleb have 42 dropbacks 36
05:54pressures. It's crazy. I mean it's terrible. I see the
05:56Chicago guys and they're panicking and honestly I think
05:59they're fine long term but they should be panicking in the
06:02short term. Nothing is worse than having a young
06:05quarterback. Now look Caleb made a couple dumb throws. He's a
06:08rookie. He's he's gonna make mistakes but they're going to
06:11kill this kid's confidence if he keeps getting rocked on
06:14thirty-six of forty-two. I mean you are going to destroy this
06:18kid. Listen, I think he's more talented but you could see AA
06:22correlation between what happened with Daniel Jones.
06:26Right. Well, I get killed a little bit. There's guys who
06:29get killed like that. Yeah. Everyone's like, oh, like he
06:31looks just like Justin Fields. Now, first of all, he's a lot
06:34better than Justin. I agree with his arm is way better. He's
06:37more accurate. Yes, he made dumb throws but he's got more
06:39pocket presence than Justin Fields ever did and if he has
06:43an offensive line, I think he will be a great quarterback.
06:45However, if they don't get that fix, there is a very good
06:49possibility that the Chicago Bears ruin one of the best NFL
06:53prospects that we've seen in a long time. It's a concern. The
06:57defense, they're, they're, they got a great defense. They can.
07:01Yeah, I mean, they're holding the Texans than under twenty
07:03points. They held the Titans to without points last week like
07:06not a lot of points. They're doing, they're doing their job.
07:09Steelers defensively like their defense has been phenomenal.
07:11Yeah, I was talking to Shay in the car ride home last night
07:14and I'm like, Caleb Williams, he will put it together and
07:18he'll realize like, hey, this is not college. I can't make
07:21these superhero throws like I used to do in college. Right.
07:24Um once he gets a better offensive line, I think he's
07:26gonna be really, really good. Uh you can just tell when guys
07:29come into the league, you can, you know right away who has it,
07:32who doesn't. Uh Bo Nix, that guy, he does not have it. He
07:36doesn't have it. That's that bad. He is, he is, he's pretty
07:38bad. Um but you, you, you, cuz you don't even see flashes with
07:42him. No. You see flashes with, with Caleb Williams. You've
07:45seen a lot of flashes with CJ Stroud last year. He's done
07:47with Bryce Young. Yep. Oh, Brad's another guy. Bryce
07:50Young is, is he, he's, he's not a quarterback. You can tell
07:53the second he walked in the camp and he looked like a
07:55seventh, seventh grader coming into school for the. Yeah, he,
07:58he, he was like, whoa. That whole organization. No aura.
08:00Yeah. Yeah, zero. But you know, I think Caleb Williams is
08:04gonna end up being pretty good. Uh I don't know if they have
08:07the right head coach and I definitely don't think they
08:09have the right offensive line. Yeah, it's gotta change and
08:11over a lot. I mean, over time, overnight, you're not just
08:14gonna improve your offensive line. So, that's another year.
08:16They gotta fix that out. So. Yeah. That's all. Oh yeah, he
08:18does have flashes. So. Yeah. Outside of drafting the right
08:21quarterback, building the offensive line is the hardest
08:22thing to do in the NFL. Definitely. Uh Chiefs still won
08:25from the Bengals. Third year in a row, the Bengals have started
08:28oh and two. Controversial pass interference. Um at Holmes
08:31INT called back league leads the league in overturned INTs
08:36on flags for the last three seasons. What'd you guys think
08:38of the flag? It was clearly a penalty. It's clearly a
08:42penalty, Nick. No matter who it's for. It was clearly a
08:44penalty. You don't call that **** penalty. Yes, you do. I
08:48hate that. You don't call it. No, you don't. You don't call
08:50that. It was absolutely interference. If the script
08:52was this coming from a D-back. I played D-back. You are a
08:55sorry **** D-back. Now, listen to me. If you, if you, if you
08:59flip the **** script and that happens with the Bengals, they
09:02are not throwing that flag on Kansas City in Arrowhead. I
09:05disagree. I disagree. Listen, I I'm with Rico. I disagree but
09:11I will say there does seem over these last couple years like
09:15there definitely is some bias with the Kansas City Chiefs.
09:18That's all I'll say. There's definitely a little bit of
09:20bias. Definitely a little bit of bias but that was a clean
09:23flag. Rico, if the, if, if that happened to your team in a big
09:26game like that, you're gonna be like, oh, refs made the right
09:28call on **** fourth and bump. You're probably, you're
09:32probably, you're probably right. I don't have a horse in
09:34the race so that's why you come into it with a uh a more level
09:38head. I agree with you. If it was the Giants who got **** I
09:40would have been mad. You're right. A hundred percent.
09:43Especially like they needed that **** win and then you got
09:48Jamar Chase who by the way has become the most insufferable
09:51person in the NFL. And I used to love him. Coming out of
09:54college, he was great electric, great gritty, and now he's just
09:57a dirt bag. You can't take that flag. No matter what you
10:01think of the ref. You cannot take that flag in that
10:03situation. And Burrow had to calm him down. He only had four
10:05catches for thirty-five yards. He's shooting his mouth off
10:08after the contract. He's like, if I wanna beat Justin
10:09Jefferson, I'm gonna beat the **** out of Justin Jefferson,
10:12not by a penny brother. So, he's getting a little like
10:14over his head. And he got flustered over a legal hit.
10:17Like, I thought, man, he got his face mask ripped. They
10:19showed their inbound. Like, what the **** is he bitching
10:21about? You can't take a flag in that situation. He's putting
10:24his hands on the franchise quarterback like pushing him
10:26off just to get back. Yeah, he's yelling at him. And if he
10:29doesn't get that flag, who knows? Now, it's third and
10:31fourth, third and five. They might call another playoff for
10:33Jamar. They might score a touchdown and then we wouldn't
10:36even be talking about the pass interference. So, he needs
10:38to figure his life out and stop being a **** prick. Yeah.
10:41Cowboys suck. You know, you said that. Bro, the Saints just
10:45might be a wagon. No. I was a year early on the Saints. I
10:49picked the Saints to win the division and make the playoffs
10:50last year. Not a wagon. They could be a wagon, bro. They're
10:53not. They're. They got a lot of weapons. I said Derek Carr is
10:57**** and I stand by that. I'm not going back and forth.
11:00Listen, it's week two of the NFL season. Teams overachieve,
11:05teams underachieve. Sir. Uh I I think that the Saints are not a
11:11playoff team. I think. I don't think they are. I really don't
11:15think. You don't think they're the best team in their
11:16division? Right now, yes. I mean, I don't like, I think
11:20they're gonna be the best team the whole year. I don't know. I
11:22mean, the Bucks look pretty good. The Bucks look okay.

11:28I'll I'll stand on when I take Derek Carr's **** I I still
11:31don't think he's that that good of a quarterback. Did he have a

11:40threw two touchdowns and one interception. That is not a
11:44great game. He threw a screen pass. That's a good point.

11:50yards. Like, that is not a great game. A great game is
11:53three, four touchdowns, no picks. And his good game, his
11:56good game last week, his his good game last week was
11:59against basically **** us playing defensive back. It's a

12:08Carr is not asking. Buddy, why don't you come back in week
12:11eighteen and hey, if the Saints are there and Derek Carr is

12:24People overreact to week two. I put out a tweet last night. I
12:27said, these are the top quarterbacks in the NFL and
12:29then there's everyone else. It was Mahomes, Allen, um who'd I
12:33have at three? Don't remember Stroud, Burrow, or Burrow was
12:37like, do you have Lamar in there? No. And everyone was
12:40like, how the **** do you not have Derek Carr up there? I'm
12:44like, bro, what the **** are we talking about? Like, it's week
12:48two. Now, I don't think he's as **** as Jerry saying he is
12:50but he's right. There's a lot of overreactions to week two. I
12:53have been talking about Sam Darnold, top five quarterback
12:56in the league. I'm like, are you guys smoking crack? No
12:58offense, Jerry. You got it. I'm like, what the **** are we
13:00doing here? Yeah, no, Rico, I mean like it's it's at the end
13:04of the day, it's week two and yeah, this was the biggest
13:07overreaction week. This is why this is a tough week to
13:10handicap because you're getting overreactions from week one.
13:13Yeah. Like you're looking at what all for one game.
13:15Everybody overreact. So, week two is very. End up, did I
13:18think the Cowboys were going to crush them? Yes. I bet the
13:21Cowboys. I thought the Cowboys were going to come out and
13:23crush them. They didn't. They got crushed and Derek Carr
13:27threw for two touchdowns and one interception. So, if that
13:30is a great game, by all means, it's a great game to you. It's
13:34not a great game to me. Uh the end of this game was very
13:38frustrating for the Lions. For a guy who's like grab your
13:41nuts and roar roar and and we're **** the toughest guys on
13:45the block. The Lions were not throwing the ball in the end
13:47zone when they needed to. Refusing to throw the ball
13:50enough for a first down. Enough for the end zone. You're down
13:52six or whatever they were down. You need the touchdown.
13:55Absolutely ridiculous play calling by the Lions. I
13:57thought the Lions came out of that chicken **** They went out
14:00of their way to lose that game. I mean, the Bucks were down
14:03their best defensive back. The three defensive backs. Yeah. I
14:06mean, crazy. They should have won that game and then Baker
14:09gives him a shot at the end of the game and Jared Goff is
14:11playing **** skip rocks. Yeah. It was crazy. Yeah. Like Goff.
14:16Well, I think he's pretty good. Like he could sling that
14:18**** I don't know what happened. I don't know if he
14:21got like a stinger or if he jerked off too hard last night
14:24but he did not have that zip that he usually does when he's
14:27throwing the ball but shout out to the Bucks. They they played
14:28a credit to Baker Mayfield too. I mean, he's playing. He's a
14:31really good football. You've seen it at the end of last year
14:33too. He was playing some really good football. Um great QB
14:37play. Uh I. Yeah, he's in the top half of quarterbacks. He's
14:40like maybe like twelve thirteen right now. Yeah, I
14:43think it's pretty good, man. Baker had 185 yards, one
14:46touchdown and interception. Yeah, I mean. That's not a
14:49great. No, it's not a great game but as far as game
14:52managing, he's doing a really good job. He's doing well. And
14:56and and their defense showed up big time. Yeah. I couldn't
15:00believe they held the Lions to sixteen points. Yeah. Like
15:03they I think they have one of the deepest offenses in the
15:05NFL. I could I was going into that game thinking Jared Goff
15:09was going to go for 350 and two to three touchdowns
15:12considering everyone that they lost in the secondary but they
15:15didn't. They showed up and shout out to the Bucks. They're
15:17red hot. Uh Vikings showed out Justin Jefferson with a monster
15:21catch. Christian McCaffrey on the IR. Do you stress the uh
15:24forty-nine? Is this forty-niners like is it all
15:28because of McCaffrey that lost yesterday? Or that they not
15:31they don't have McCaffrey? No, I was reading stats that when
15:34they travel east, they're not that great. I know what is what
15:39is uh Minnesota? Are they central? Minnesota Central. I
15:42don't even know. Yeah, I don't know. I was looking at betting
15:44trends and the Niners just always suck over there but like
15:46Jerry said, it's week two. Um does McCaffrey help? Yeah, but
15:49running back is the most replaceable position in the
15:51NFL even if it if it is the number one running back. I
15:54mean, you saw week one with Mount. I mean, that guy looked
15:56like he was **** Christian McCaffrey. The Vikings came out
15:59to play and shout out Brian Flores, their defensive court
16:02inter former uh Miami Dolphins head coach who got fired
16:05because he thought it was trash and wouldn't last in the
16:07league. So, we sacked them and Brock Purdy walked over to
16:10Brian Flores after the game and said, your scheme is insane and
16:13the Vikings defense was they're all over him. Yeah. And uh
16:16Vikings are are sneaky if Justin Jefferson is healthy
16:19throughout the whole year. Is that they pose this on? I think
16:22Smitty posed it on Pick Central too. Is Sam Darnold that much
16:26of a downgrade from Kirk Cousins? No. If at all. No.
16:31That's what I was gonna ask you. I feel like he's played. I
16:33don't think he is. There's no need to rush JJ McCarthy. Right
16:36now, I don't think he is. No. I don't think he's that much of a
16:40downgrade. I think he's right there. Yeah, I know. I mean,
16:42let's let's show a little respect to Captain Kirk. He's a
16:45great regular season quarterback. Now, I don't know
16:48what's going on with him in Atlanta right now. I don't know
16:50if his legs **** up. They suck. Kirk has been a good
16:53quarterback in the NFL. Sam Darnold's kinda been a journey
16:56man. He's hot right now but I think Jerry hit the nail on the
16:59head. It's weak too. Like, you get hot a little bit but then
17:03who knows? Your season comes crashing down. Yeah, Rico, I
17:04mean, you were big on the Falcons. Big on the Falcons. I
17:07mean, but now it's week two and you're saying they stink. They
17:10could lose. They lose tonight. I think they'll lose tonight
17:12then they're staring at the Chiefs. That's oh and three.
17:14It's insurmountable to come back from that to make the
17:17playoffs. It's insurmountable. I could, I mean, obviously,
17:20they're an underdog tonight. Um if I, if, if I do bet on this
17:25game, I think I'm gonna take the Falcons money line. Really? I
17:27do. I kinda like the over in that game. Yeah, I like the
17:31over as well. Is AJ Brown playing? No. No, he's out. We
17:35got the Von Day Smith and Saquon to score touchdowns. I
17:37have another, I have another take. Uh Jalen Hurts looks a
17:40lot slower than previous. Yes. Yes. I don't, I don't know if
17:44that is, is true but that's just the JJ eyeball test just
17:48watching. He looks slower. Significantly slower. So, I
17:51agree. I mean, I don't know what to make of that if that's
17:53gonna be even a big deal for Philly but that's just what I
17:56see. Where do you guys stand on the Jets? They suck. I agree
18:01with that. I think they got a lot of problems. Rogers isn't
18:04throwing the ball past ten yards. They obviously have a
18:06weapon in Breece Hall. Braylon Allen looked good yesterday but
18:09I think the Jets are overrated. Massively overrated. The
18:12Titans go out of their way to lose. Yes. Will Will Levis

18:27doing? And that's been the story of the Titans for the
18:29last two weeks. Yeah. Will Levis wasn't such a **** airhead
18:32worrying about putting mayo in his coffee and crying over his
18:35ex-girlfriend who's fine as ****. Is he crying over her?

18:56against the Ravens. The Ravens are another team who can't put
18:58anybody away. They can't put anybody. That game was dead
19:02lock done over Sayonara. Four different ways and the Raven
19:06next thing you know the Raiders are kicking a field goal to win
19:08the thing. Yeah. Lamar Lamar is the most confusing quarterback
19:13in the NFL. Yup. I don't know. I still to this day II mean I
19:16had this take for a long time. Um that he is he is he is not
19:21gonna win a Super Bowl uh ever um he's not he's not gonna do
19:25well in playoff games but then it's like he'll have great
19:29games and you're like damn I'm a dumb **** and then he has
19:32games like that where you're like yeah this guy really isn't
19:35that good. I mean he's good on his with his feet but like I
19:37don't know what to make of him. I really don't anymore. He's
19:39very up and down. Yes. I love Lamar Jackson. He's from
19:42Broward County. I've been there. BC boy. From the jump. Do
19:46they call BC? No. We could just call it Broward. Show some

19:52those problems. I'm telling you. Um I love Lamar. I think
19:55he's a great player. I 100% agree with Jerry. 1000%. I don't
19:59think he's accurate enough and like you said, he'll get hot
20:02some games and you'll be like, oh **** this guy's really good
20:04but he's not consistent enough and when the games matter most
20:07and you gotta make those tight window throws, he just doesn't
20:10have it. We see it time and time again and they'll look
20:12great in the regular season. I'm not worried about them.
20:14They'll turn it around. Yeah, I'm not worried about them. I
20:16think they will turn it around. They do have a tough schedule
20:18coming up. I forget who it is but it's uh Cowboys, Bills, and
20:23Bengals I think is their next three. **** I was tough. It's
20:26a tough stretch. Meanwhile, the Bengals have a two easy games
20:29coming up. They're both oh and two in that division. Looking
20:31up at you. So, the games in Dallas, right? I'm pretty sure.
20:34I was doing so so like I'll make the lines in my head and
20:37then I'll see how close I was on like the actual line. I had
20:41uh Dallas being a favorite and Baltimore's favorite on the
20:46road against Dallas. How many points? Two and a half. It's
20:48one. I obviously not a lot of points. I was just surprised to
20:53see the Ravens going in. Yeah, that might be, yeah, a little
20:56bit of an overreaction to how bad Dallas looked, right? Yeah,
20:59I mean, listen, every team in the NFL, every single team is
21:04gonna have games like the Cowboys just played where it's
21:08just like, holy **** This is never had a chance. Yeah, you're
21:10never had a chance and we can't get anything going. Every team
21:13is gonna have at least one or two of those games a year,
21:16right? Um so, maybe the Cowboys had that game early in the year.
21:20You know, who knows? Maybe the Ravens had that game this week
21:24as well. Who knows but uh if I if if I'm I'm betting on that
21:27game, I think I'm gonna take the Cowboys and as a Miami
21:30Dolphins fan, I know what it's like to be the Super Bowl
21:32champs in September. So, I am with Jerry 100% like anything
21:36that we think we know, we don't know. Yeah. A lot of football
21:39to be played. Seahawks win one. And that goes for my that goes
21:43for my take two Rico on uh Justin Fields. He can put it
21:47together. Right. In week **** four, five, and six. I I don't
21:51know from what I see now though. It's I don't think he's
