00:00The 68th National Congress of Engineers was held in the spaces of the Medici Fortress in Siena,
00:10entitled Svolte, engineering to govern change.
00:14The event, organized by the provincial orders of the engineers of Siena and Grosseto,
00:18saw the participation of more than 1,300 delegates.
00:21The engineers were known first because they were the protagonists of the construction of buildings,
00:27bridges, ducts, all that was needed for civil development.
00:32Now, instead, the engineer is a figure who deals with society in 360 degrees,
00:37from bioengineering to artificial intelligence to the economy,
00:41because there are also interventions in which the technique,
00:46obviously, must be included in the investments,
00:52such as management engineering, for example.
00:55So we are able to deal with all those issues that concern the safety of the citizens.
01:02And that is why we are fighting for the mandatory registration at dawn,
01:07because it is right that all engineers who carry out a professional activity
01:12are controlled by their own order and are able to carry out the activity conscientiously.
01:17This is what society expects from us.
01:20I salute the idea of the Displaced Congress in several iconic places in the city
01:24and with the creation of events open even to those who are not subject to work,
01:28in line with the trend of recent years,
01:30to carry out events that are increasingly open to the world of culture, politics and civil society.
