00:00Thank you so much for watching this segment of CreateUp with me, Prisa Sompodato.
00:10And this time, we will discuss an interesting topic, which is learning design from scratch via StartUp.
00:15What design is meant is already connected through a video conference with Mr. Erick Marcos Huch,
00:21who is the Chief Director of Tech Training Center.
00:24Good morning, sir. How are you?
00:29How are you? Greetings to everyone.
00:31Thank you, Mr. Erick, for joining us.
00:34Wow, your Indonesian is so fluent. Since when have you been in Indonesia?
00:38I came to Indonesia twice. First, from 2014 to 2015.
00:45I was in Central Java.
00:47After that, in 2019.
00:49So, during the pandemic, I was in Surabaya.
00:52What is your impression of Indonesia during your stay here?
00:58Wow, Indonesia is amazing.
01:00Indonesian people lift my spirits.
01:02So, I don't want to go back.
01:04Okay.
01:06I don't want to be here anymore.
01:09Oh, that's amazing.
01:10So, you are a citizen of America, but your home is in Indonesia.
01:14Is that right?
01:16Yes.
01:17Can you tell us about Tech Training Center?
01:21What is it like?
01:22And what do you mean by design?
01:26Tech Training Center is actually a part of PT STTCC,
01:34or Surabaya Technology Training Consultant Center,
01:37which aims to teach the children of the world of engineering.
01:43Why?
01:44Because in Indonesia, there are many technical needs.
01:49So, what we see is that children sometimes have a lot of stigmas.
01:56Oh, he can't learn electronics or 3D or design or electric.
02:01So, what we do is, with an interesting process,
02:06we introduce the world of engineering to children with a smart technology program.
02:12Why is it important for children to learn 3D design since childhood?
02:19Oh, that's a very good question.
02:22It has been proven that 3D design and print teach children a few things.
02:31So, they can learn how to solve problems,
02:36how to exploit or express their creativity,
02:40how to find solutions to problems that seem difficult,
02:47but everything is in the context of learning, in the context of playing.
02:53So, they design.
02:55For example, they started with toy designs.
02:58After that, when they see the results of their designs,
03:04they say, wow, you have to see their happy faces.
03:08They feel like, wow, I can do my own toys, I can do my own design.
03:16So, there are many benefits, from critical thinking,
03:21from wider thinking, things out of the box, and so on.
03:27Is it easy to introduce those assets to children,
03:33especially parents, to join this tech training center?
03:39And where is the location?
03:42Is it in Surabaya or anywhere else?
03:46Now, we are still in Surabaya because this is where I came from, Indonesia.
03:53So, we are now in Surabaya, especially in East Surabaya.
03:57There are even some customers in West Surabaya.
03:59But actually, it is not that difficult.
04:03What we experienced was,
04:06because our initial plan was to join,
04:09and still join schools,
04:12to work with schools.
04:14But at that time, we did not know how to manage their curriculum.
04:20So, it turned out that when we registered with them,
04:24we were a little late.
04:26So, after that, we met with the parents themselves,
04:30and they were very interested.
04:32Moreover, we provided a trial.
04:34So, when they met,
04:36they came to see our facilities,
04:38and our instructors.
04:40Their children can speak English.
04:42If they want to speak English, they can speak Indonesian.
04:43If they want to speak Indonesian, they can speak Javanese.
04:45Please, we provide everything.
04:47So, they are very interested.
04:49Now, they are very, very open.
04:51Okay.
04:52So, the Tech Training Center, so far,
04:55does not cooperate with educational institutions,
04:59or other schools, but stands alone?
05:03No.
05:04Now, we have IPH,
05:07one of the well-known schools in Surabaya.
05:10And there are several schools that cooperate with us,
05:14but with the help of workshops for children.
05:16Because we have to wait to start the curriculum next year.
05:21I mean, we are late,
05:23because the Pintar Tekno program was launched this year,
05:27while our business was officially established in 2022.
05:32Okay.
05:332022 officially,
05:35then it started to run since 2022, right?
05:38Mr. Erick, right?
05:39Yes.
05:40Then, so far, what is it called?
05:44How many students have joined with Tech Training Center?
05:49Okay.
05:50From the initial program until now,
05:53we have, compared to other schools,
05:56approximately 125-130 students,
06:01who study.
06:04And why is that?
06:06Because we sometimes have a shortage.
06:08Because the more students,
06:11the less quality.
06:13Because of that, we limit the number of students per group.
06:17Because what we are looking for is quality.
06:20So, we take care of the quality.
06:21Because one of our values is,
06:23learning by doing.
06:25So, they immediately learn theory,
06:27immediately practice.
06:28So, it's okay.
06:31You don't need a process that takes too long.
06:33If you can do it quickly, do it quickly.
06:36Okay.
06:37We'll talk more later.
06:38Is there any difficulty?
06:39From Tech Training Center,
06:40talking about technology,
06:41maybe in terms of teaching,
06:43or in terms of students,
06:44or in terms of business model.
06:46We'll discuss more later.
06:47Mr. Erick, let's pause for a moment.
06:49First, the host of this discussion will be back in a moment.
06:53The host is back with us,
06:54and will still discuss with our amazing guest.
06:57There is the Chief Director of Tech Training Center,
07:00Mr. Erick Marcos-Huyge.
07:02Let's continue the discussion.
07:04If for the Tech Training Center itself,
07:06it means that it has collaborated with several educational institutions,
07:09schools, etc.
07:10There was the IPH.
07:11Then, the news is also in Kediri.
07:15What is it like?
07:16Can you tell us, Mr. Erick?
07:18Yes, that's right.
07:19Many people ask us,
07:21how about the students?
07:23There is no special program.
07:24So, we provide a program called Pintar Tenon 4.0,
07:29where we provide a virtual space,
07:31or a virtual lab,
07:32where children can learn several things
07:35by using their own technology.
07:38So, from design and modeling,
07:41such as prosthesis for people who need it,
07:45or design-design such as gear,
07:47there are several things.
07:48So, we just held a kind of workshop
07:55with them,
07:56and introduced products for students.
08:00But they are very interested,
08:01because the ultimate goal is
08:03to motivate them to research.
08:08Okay.
08:09What is the age range, Mr. Erick?
08:13There are three programs in Pintar Tenon 4.0.
08:16The program is for schools.
08:19It is called Pintar Tenon 4.0.
08:21It is from 7 years old to 15 years old.
08:26Because above that,
08:28there are robotics,
08:29and several things that we also provide,
08:31but with other programs.
08:33After that, it is on-site.
08:34Yesterday, I was surprised.
08:36Because there is a 6-year-old student,
08:38and because of that,
08:41we say that all students,
08:45the important thing is to learn,
08:47to write,
08:48and they can do it.
08:49They can do it.
08:50So, now there is no limit,
08:53as long as they can read and write.
08:56Okay.
08:57What facilities are provided?
09:01In the office,
09:02in our place,
09:04we provide laptops,
09:06instructors,
09:07materials,
09:08everything for 3D.
09:10There is an electronics program.
09:12Even now there is a promo.
09:14They can buy a children's register,
09:16and they can get an electronics kit.
09:19In schools,
09:21there are schools that provide their lab space.
09:24There are schools that ask us to bring our tools.
09:27So, there is no need to worry about tools,
09:30printers,
09:31filaments.
09:32We provide everything,
09:34and they just need to come in,
09:36learn,
09:37and we will help them.
09:39Okay.
09:40So, what are the challenges?
09:42Is there any from the instructor's point of view?
09:45Or from the equipment's point of view?
09:48Or from the elementary school's point of view?
09:50Or anything else, Mr. Erick?
09:52Yes.
09:53And lastly,
09:55actually,
09:57what we do is
09:59we
10:01train the instructors
10:03according to our needs.
10:05Because the needs are too specific.
10:07The program is very modern.
10:08Usually, people learn
10:103D by themselves,
10:11in the campus.
10:13But they don't know how to use a printer.
10:16Some people sell printers.
10:18We don't sell printers.
10:20We sell knowledge.
10:21We sell products.
10:22So, I have to...
10:24One of my instructors,
10:26he is a designer.
10:27After that, we equip him with some training,
10:30so that he can learn.
10:31One of the most important things for us,
10:33all of my staff are trained
10:35by Child Protection Trainers.
10:37So, they know how to approach children
10:39in the best way possible,
10:41with respect,
10:43and with kindness.
10:44Because that is one of the things that we appreciate.
10:46Okay.
10:47Lastly, how much is the cost?
10:49In short,
10:50and has it profited so far?
10:52And what is the profit target?
10:54Okay.
10:55Our program target is
10:57350.
10:59That is the offer program package
11:03for this year.
11:04But for next year,
11:05we want to increase it to 400,000.
11:07Per month.
11:08And that is the price per month.
11:10There are 100,000 registrations.
11:12But actually,
11:13in my opinion,
11:15it is very affordable.
11:17Affordable, right?
11:18Yes, for the market.
11:20Has it profited?
11:21Yes.
11:22It has.
11:23It has profited.
11:24Okay.
11:25We are in equilibrium now.
11:27I am very grateful.
11:30Good luck for Tech Training Center
11:33and the future targets.
11:35I hope it can bring
11:37the children
11:39or the younger generation of Indonesia
11:40to be more qualified
11:42in the field of technology.
11:43See you again, Mr. Erik.
11:45See you again.
11:46Indonesia Maju.
11:47Indonesia Maju.
11:48Amen. Thank you, sir.
11:50That is the end of our conversation
11:51at CREATE App this time.
11:52I hope it can be a reference for you.
11:54And before we end,
11:55we would like to update you
11:56on the price index of the joint stock market.
