00:00Samsung Galaxy S20 in 2023.
00:04In this video, we're going to find out if after three years,
00:08this phone is still worth it.
00:09Right now, the S20 is available renewed for $200,
00:14maybe a little bit less, maybe a little bit more on Amazon,
00:17which obviously, like in every video,
00:19you will find a link in the description
00:22that will take you to that Amazon price
00:24so you can get it at that very low price
00:26instead of getting it for a lot more money on other websites.
00:29But hey, let's move on to the design category,
00:31which, as you can see, is one of the strong points on this phone.
00:35It's built out of aluminum and glass
00:37with simple but elegant lines
00:38and an unbeatable feeling in your hand.
00:41If you've ever tried one of the latest Galaxy S phones,
00:44you know what I'm talking about.
00:45They are very aesthetic,
00:47they have good materials,
00:48and above all, they are very ergonomic.
00:51As for the processor, we have a Snapdragon 865,
00:54which was the best processor
00:56you could put on an Android phone three years ago.
00:58And therefore, of course, it is an absolute killing machine
01:02whatever you throw at it.
01:04The applications work super well,
01:06stable and fast,
01:07the system moves fluidly
01:08and without any irregularities or performance failures,
01:12and you can play all the games you want
01:14no matter how demanding they are,
01:15you won't have any issues.
01:17We're talking about a very similar user experience
01:20to what you can get on a Galaxy S22,
01:22with the only difference being that the S22 has spare performance
01:27and the S20 doesn't.
01:28So in the long run, the S22 is going to have more
01:32good performance years than the S20,
01:34but as I said, right now in 2023,
01:36they're both very similar.
01:38And that's a lot to say for a phone
01:40that's more than three and a half years old.
01:42But hey, let's move on to another very good feature
01:45and quite acclaimed on the S20,
01:47which is the battery life.
01:49In practical terms,
01:50it will give you nine hours of continuous use
01:54before it runs out of battery,
01:56which is absolutely crazy.
01:58Nine hours is around two days of usage
02:00for like a normal person
02:02and maybe a day and a half for a demanding user,
02:06which is, as I said, crazy.
02:07It's more than you need.
02:09It's more than enough.
02:10I remember back in,
02:11well, back in, I was going to say back in the day,
02:13but this is like two, three years ago,
02:16the goal for a phone in terms of battery
02:19was for it to last the entire day.
02:21And now we're seeing a lot of phones
02:23that very comfortably get till the end of the day
02:26in even two or even three days.
02:28So as I said, this phone,
02:29both right now and in two, three, four years,
02:31will comfortably get till the end of the day.
02:34But anyways, let's move on to the screen.
02:36Another very good component on the S20.
02:39It has an OLED panel with 120 Hertz,
02:4212,000 nits of brightness,
02:44and obviously the most high-end panel available
02:47at the time it came out,
02:49which are specs that are absolutely ahead of their time.
02:52Remember, this phone came out in 2020.
02:55And at that time, there were no phones with 120 Hertz
02:58or over 1,000 nits of brightness.
03:00By the way, let me emphasize on the panel quality too.
03:04People, when they talk about displays,
03:06they always focus on resolution.
03:07Resolution, is it over 1080p?
03:09Is it 1080p?
03:11That doesn't really matter.
03:12On a small phone, anything beyond 1080p is not noticeable.
03:17Unless you put the phone here, it is not noticeable.
03:21There's other things that are far more impactful
03:24when it comes to the quality of the display,
03:25like the panel quality.
03:27That's a big deal.
03:28Being able to see the phone in every angle
03:30without losing any quality,
03:32colors being rich and contrasty and accurate,
03:36120 Hertz, the brightness,
03:38all those things are far more important
03:40when it comes to the panel quality than the resolution.
03:43And of course, it's time to talk about the cameras.
03:46For most people, the most important part of the phone,
03:49of the entire system.
03:50Right now, I'm actually recording
03:52with the main camera on the S20 at 4K 30 FPS.
03:55And I'm going to give you the specs,
03:57which are a little bit weird for a Samsung phone.
04:00It has a 12 megapixel main sensor,
04:03which may seem a little bit low, but don't worry.
04:06Look at the pictures and then tell me what you think.
04:09It has a 64 megapixel zoom lens
04:12and it has another 12 megapixel ultra wide lens.
04:15By the way, as you appreciate the quality
04:18of this main sensor, let me tell you,
04:20well, I said it at the beginning of the video,
04:22but I'm going to say it again.
04:23The S20 has a very, very good price on Amazon.
04:27You have a direct link in the description.
04:29But anyways, as you can see, very good dynamic range.
04:33You're seeing the sky and my face perfectly lit up
04:35and balanced, but for most people,
04:38what really matters on a phone are the pictures.
04:41So like in every video, I'm going to show you
04:43between 30 and 40 pictures with some nice background music,
04:47also zooming in so you can appreciate the details
04:50and the colors, and then I'll come back
04:52to talk about the selfie camera.
07:20Well, what did you think?
07:21Very nice pictures from the main camera.
07:24I told you, don't worry about the only 12 megapixels.
07:27It has a very large sensor.
07:29It has very large pixel size.
07:32So even though it's only 12 megapixels,
07:34pictures are amazing.
07:35As you can see, I'm recording with a selfie camera right now.
07:38I'm showing you some video.
07:39As you can see, also very good dynamic range.
07:42Maybe not as good as the main camera,
07:43but still you can see the sky
07:45and you can see my face perfectly lit up.
07:47Not as good as the main camera,
07:48but still you can see the sky and you can see my face.
07:51Very good, you can't really get that on a professional,
07:53well, maybe not professional,
07:55but semi-professional DSLR.
07:57And as I did with the rear cameras,
07:59I'm going to show you some selfie pictures,
08:00although there are not going to be as many
08:02because it's only just selfies.
08:04So you, Jesus, a fly, another fly.
08:07It's summertime, so of course, a lot of flies in my house.
08:11I'm going to show you some selfie pictures
08:12with a nice background music,
08:14zooming in so you can see the details,
08:16and then I'll come back for the conclusions.
08:17So yeah, summing up all of these points,
08:41and as I said earlier, a very good price on Amazon.
08:44I would very comfortably recommend the S20
08:47for everybody that was looking to get it.
08:49You know, if you came to watch this video
08:52because you're undecisive,
08:54whether you want to buy the S20 or not, get it.
08:57It is a very good phone with a very good price.
09:00Just go buy it.
09:02You're going to have an amazing experience.
09:04It is a very good phone.
