00:00Hello there. Friday yet again will be a mild day and pleasant if you catch some
00:05sunshine. All change though into the weekend as things turn a lot colder,
00:11noticeably colder, from the north. More about that in a moment. For the time
00:15being it's relatively quiet outside although windy across the north as well
00:19as the west and gusty winds over the highlands. The rain then slowly
00:23intensifies through the evening and overnight across the far northwest of
00:26Scotland. Elsewhere across western Scotland always a low cloud and some
00:30patchy rain and drizzle. A similar situation for the far north of Northern
00:34Ireland and certainly down towards the West Country exposed to the southwest
00:37wind. We'll see more cloud here and a bit of dampness. Similar situation also for
00:41the far south of Wales. In between just a lot of cloud, perhaps some breaks in the
00:46cloud, a lighter breeze towards the southeast but the key feature will be
00:49the temperatures holding up overnight. Exceptionally mild for Scotland. It will
00:53be a windy start to the day here with some outbreaks of rain continuing across
00:57the far northwest. Brighter skies certainly for Shetland through the day
01:01but a windy start here and you can see brighter weather coming through across
01:04the eastern side of Scotland. Sheltered spots of Northern Ireland extending down
01:08towards East Wales, northeastern areas of England but towards the southwest
01:12always more cloud here, a bit murky in places with some patchy rain and drizzle.
01:17So that's the picture through Friday morning. Through the day still windy in
01:21the far northwest with further spells of rain. Elsewhere the cloud will break
01:26and we'll see some a brighter weather coming through. So not a bad afternoon
01:30and certainly for this time of year exceptionally mild. Temperatures coming
01:33in around 14 to 16 degrees Celsius. Still rather damp at times across the south
01:38coast of Wales. Certainly for Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire as well as Swansea.
01:43The south coast of England also seeing more in the way of cloud from time to
01:46time. But look at these temperatures Aberdeenshire perhaps a 16. Locally we
01:51could just about see a 17 somewhere up here. Elsewhere 13 or 14 feeling pleasant
01:56in any brighter spots. So that's the picture on Friday afternoon. Through
02:02Friday evening that rain continues across central and northern areas of
02:06Scotland and again with a strong wind touching Galeforce for a time. And then
02:10it's this cold front which will deliver more cloud and outbreaks of rain to the
02:13central part of Northern Ireland as we head through the first part of Saturday.
02:17Cloudier skies further south but a mostly dry start on Saturday and still
02:21relatively mild before this rain sinks its way southwards through the latter
02:25part of the day. And then temperatures really take a tumble through Saturday
02:29night turning a lot colder in the north. And then through Sunday that relentless
02:34cold wind. Temperatures single figures and also we will see some coastal showers
02:38particularly towards the north as well as the northeast. The risk of ice through
02:42Sunday and into the first part of Monday. So all in all yes things turning a lot
02:46colder into the weekend. It's time to wrap up warm. Bye bye.
