18 September - National weather forecast
Transcript
00:00Hi there, it may be the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
00:04But it is a bit of a mixed bag this weekend with some heavy rain edging in from the west
00:10So we have low pressure near Iceland and a cold front approaching from the west that cold front will spread across
00:17Most parts of the country over the weekend giving outbreaks of rain for many
00:22So back to today, so a good amount of dry and bright weather across parts of Scotland and England
00:27Although showers will bubble up during the course of the afternoon across southern parts further west across Wales in the West country
00:35Cloudy with outbreaks of patchy rain that rain edging ever so slightly further eastwards during the day
00:41Temperatures generally around average for the time of year although fairly pleasant where that Sun breaks through with highs of 24 in the southeast
00:49So overnight tonight any daytime showers across parts of England will gradually ease
00:55So leaving a largely dry night for most places of England, although that rain further west will continue to edge eastwards
01:02Pepping up for a time across parts of northern England and Scotland
01:06overnight temperatures staying generally in double figures with overnight lows of 11 for Northern Ireland and
01:1313 and 14 for many parts of England and Wales
01:18So tomorrow morning bit of a dry and bright start the further east you are with any early morning mist gradually
01:24Burning off during the course of the morning
01:27Further west clouding over with outbreaks of rain spreading eastwards and by midday
01:32That rain should actually sort of reach more central parts becoming locally heavy and we have a weather warning in force from midday
01:40Temperatures generally down on Saturday with highs into the high teens perhaps the low 20s across the very far south
01:48And the outlook period so the remnants of the weekend showers will clear eastwards during the course of Monday
01:54With some long sunny spells developing although turning increasingly unsettled towards the end of the week from the northwest
