00:00What's up guys, today we will be comparing the Xiaomi Poco F3 versus the Pixel 6a here.
00:10These are two mid-rangers that are very popular and we're going to put them head-to-head to
00:14see which one is going to be best for you.
00:17So let's go ahead and talk about the price.
00:19Now the Poco will come in a little bit cheaper.
00:21You can find these for around 350 bucks online.
00:25The Pixel 6a will cost you around 450 bucks.
00:30So let's go ahead and start off with the hardware.
00:34So these are two very nice looking phones and I actually really like the white color
00:38on both of these phones.
00:40So the Poco does have a glass back.
00:43It does have a soft touch texture to it.
00:47It's got these plastic railings.
00:49It's IP53 dust and splash proof.
00:52You can see it's much bigger than the Pixel as well too and the Pixel actually looks a
00:57little bit thicker as well.
00:59The Pixel, you would think this was glass but this is actually a plastic back but this
01:04actually has metal railings as well.
01:06So it's pretty interesting.
01:07It's like the reverse actually.
01:10So yeah, they both still have that really nice feel.
01:13You honestly would not be able to tell that these were cheaper smartphones.
01:19They honestly look really good for the price point here.
01:23The design I think looks really nice.
01:24Very unique, awesome camera designs on both of these phones as well too.
01:29But the Pixel does have an edge.
01:30It does have the IP67 dust and water resistant so it actually can get wet.
01:36You can put it, drop it in a pool or something like that.
01:39It'll have a better chance of surviving than the Poco F3 for sure.
01:44Now moving on to the displays here.
01:46So you do have a 6.67 inch AMOLED display on the Poco.
01:51It is 120Hz HDR10+.
01:54It is a max 1300 nits peak brightness and it is a 1080p panel, 395 for the PPI.
02:02The Pixel has an OLED display.
02:04It's only HDR so no HDR+, and then it's a 6.1 inch display.
02:10So if you want something a little bit more compact, the Pixel is definitely easier to
02:15reach here.
02:16And it is a 1080p display, 429 for the PPI, but the Pixel unfortunately does not have
02:22any type of high refresh rate on it.
02:25So I would say the Poco pretty much has the edge when it comes to the display quality.
02:30Even though the Pixel's display is pretty nice, the Poco does have the 120Hz so it's
02:35just a much smoother and silkier experience, especially when you're scrolling through applications
02:40and stuff like that or playing games that are compatible with the 120Hz.
02:47They both flat panels as well too.
02:49They both have a little bit of bezel on them actually as well.
02:52But like I said, the Poco is just the better display.
02:55It's got HDR10+, and it also has the 120Hz.
02:59So the experience is just a little bit smoother and a little bit more fluid as far as the
03:04display.
03:05Now let's go ahead and talk about the software experience because I think this is pretty
03:08important.
03:10The Pixel does have, to me, a better software experience.
03:12It has the pure stock Android, it gets updates faster.
03:17You do have the MIUI skin on the Poco, and it's fine.
03:22A lot of people complain about it's buggy and stuff like that, and yes, it is.
03:27Mine is not super buggy where it's like lagging and glitching all over the place, but I notice
03:31like just small little bugs like my wallpaper will randomly change back to the stock and
03:35stuff like that.
03:37way more bloatware on these Poco devices.
03:41Basically if you don't know bloatware, it's just applications you didn't install and stuff.
03:45MIUI kind of has ads that you gotta turn off and stuff like that.
03:49So it's not, you know, you're not gonna get that premium experience.
03:52With the Pixel, it's literally just stock Android, Google Apps, everything is very,
03:58very simple, very clean.
04:00But like I said, there is a lot with the MIUI as far as in the settings and stuff.
04:05I do like some of the stuff that they do, especially the multitasking tray and how they
04:09have that set up.
04:10So it's not really all bad when it comes to software, but yes, it's just not as good as
04:15the, you know, Pixel experience, definitely for sure, hands down.
04:19So that could be a reason you might want to go with a Pixel.
04:23As far as the processors go, so this is actually pretty interesting thing about these two mid-rangers.
04:30These two phones actually have very strong chipsets in them.
04:34So let's go ahead and bring up those Geekbench scores and let's go ahead and talk about it.
04:37So the Pixel actually will beat it out in the single core, but it actually loses in
04:42the multi-core.
04:43So the POCO does have the Snapdragon 870 in the Adreno 650, no SD card support.
04:51You have the 256 gigs and 8 gigabyte version here.
04:55The Pixel, it does have the Google Tensor chip, the Mali-G78 GPU, and then you also
05:02have 128 gigs, 6 gigs of RAM, no SD card support as well too.
05:08So as far as the speed performance goes on both of these two phones, they are very fast.
05:14So they get into applications fairly quick.
05:17So I've never had any like lag issues really with these phones.
05:21They are super, super speedy guys.
05:23As you guys can see here, just getting a little app test, you see almost pretty much on par
05:29with each other.
05:33Now as far as the gaming performance goes, both these phones actually do a phenomenal
05:38job with gaming performance as well too.
05:41You're able to play Call of Duty, PUBG on both of these phones at pretty high settings.
05:47So that's also something to take into consideration.
05:50Let's go ahead and actually launch PUBG.
05:53Now I will say that the Snapdragon chips are a little bit more optimized for gaming I noticed.
06:04The Tensor chips, you're not getting settings that you should get with these type of scores
06:08which you guys will see here in a minute.
06:11So as you guys can see here with the POCO here, you can see I'm able to play HDR Extreme
06:16even up to Ultra HD and it does a really good job with gaming guys.
06:20It is a very fast phone when it comes to gaming performance and it really is pretty efficient
06:25when it comes to heat.
06:26It doesn't get super hot when gaming for long periods of time.
06:30But on the Pixel, we can play at Smooth Extreme but you can see no HDR Extreme on the Pixel.
06:37Even though this phone is capable, it should be capable of doing it, it's just not there
06:40yet.
06:41The Pixel does have a newer sort of chipset on it so maybe in the future games will be
06:46better optimized.
06:47I think also Call of Duty runs at a higher FPS as well too.
06:53So technically you will get better settings gaming on the POCO but both of these phones
06:58are pretty good when it comes to gaming performance.
07:00Alright guys, both of these phones have stereo speakers, they're both maxed out.
07:04Let's go ahead and see which one sounds the best.
07:25Pixel much stronger bass.
07:32The Pixel just sounds more full, better bass, slightly louder.
07:50The POCO F3 speakers are not bad by any means, it's just that the bass is just not as loud.
07:56It's just not as loud but it is decently loud but the better speakers are definitely with
08:01the Pixel.
08:02Alright, so both of these phones, they do have NFC as well too which is really nice
08:07and they both have, well the Pixel has an in-display fingerprint sensor which is okay.
08:16I definitely prefer the way the POCO does it with the physical fingerprint sensor in
08:20the button here.
08:22It just feels more natural to me.
08:24I personally prefer this over all in-display fingerprint sensors.
08:28It just feels more natural, you don't really think about unlocking the phone.
08:33Some people think the in-display is cooler, I definitely understand.
08:38Now the Pixel does not have any type of face unlock.
08:40You do have the ability to do face unlock on the POCO which is something that I always
08:44appreciate.
08:45Alright, so both of these phones, they also do lack wireless charging so you won't have
08:50that on either of these phones as well too just to let you know.
08:56And also the POCO does have a feature that I really like, it's called the infrared port.
09:02You can use it to control your TV, air conditioner, I use this to control the TVs in my house
09:10and that's something that I really like.
09:11I gotta do this timeout, it's annoying me.
09:15It's something that I really like guys, so if you've never tried the infrared port, you
09:19can basically use this as a universal remote for all of your TVs which is something that
09:23I really like.
09:24Now we're gonna check out some side-by-side stills because I thought this was actually
09:27one of the most interesting parts of this comparison is which camera do you think is
09:32better here.
09:33So let's just go ahead and go over the specs.
09:34So the Pixel, it does have a dual camera setup here.
09:38It is a 12 megapixel standard, it is a 12 megapixel ultra wide, it shoots in 4K60 as
09:45well too and it does have an 8 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 1080p30 on here.
09:52The POCO, it does have a triple camera setup, it's got a 48 megapixel standard so it is
09:56able to shoot in a higher resolution.
10:00You do have an 8 megapixel ultra wide and then a 5 megapixel macro camera which is just
10:04okay.
10:05It's not the worst but it's definitely not the best macro.
10:08It shoots in 4K30 though and then you have a 20 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 1080p60
10:14here.
10:15So I'll show you guys these side-by-side stills.
10:17Let me know which one did you think was better.
10:56Alright guys, lastly let's talk about battery life.
11:11So both of these phones actually have very good battery life.
11:14They both can do about 6 hours of screen on time pretty easy.
11:19Also the thing to note about the battery life or the battery situation is that the POCO
11:25can do 33 watt charging and the Pixel can only do 18 watt charging.
11:29So you can definitely feel that difference between the charging speeds which is something
11:33that I definitely took note of.
11:36Also you do have a bigger battery on the POCO, it's a 4520 milliamp battery but like I said
11:42it doesn't really make that much of a difference because the Pixel has a 4410 milliamp battery
11:47as well.
11:48I think if you turn the 60 hertz off, I mean the 120 hertz off on the POCO, maybe you can
11:53get slightly better battery life but honestly they feel about even.
11:57They both do an excellent job.
11:59So it really comes down to what you prefer here.
12:02Do you like the Pixel experience with the stock Android?
12:06Did you prefer the stills on the Pixel?
12:10As far as the POCO goes, it's got a lot going for it with the really beautiful display on
12:15here, 120 hertz, HDR10+, it also has the infrared port which I really like.
12:22You also have pretty good cameras too on here, a really powerful chipset as well.
12:26It just really comes down to those kind of small things so be sure to let me know what
12:30do you guys think and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
