00:00All right, so these are older flagship phones.
00:04They are very unique in their own right,
00:08especially compared to newer flagship phones,
00:09even mid-range phones,
00:11because they're super cheap, right?
00:12All of these phones are in the range of $300 to $200.
00:16So very cheap phones, and they offer a ton.
00:18So let's go ahead and talk about just the build quality
00:22of these phones and the size,
00:24because that is definitely the most important thing,
00:27the size of these phones.
00:28So if you're choosing between these phones,
00:30you can see I got them from biggest to smallest.
00:33And obviously, if you want a phone with the biggest screen,
00:37you would go with the S10 5G here.
00:39You can see it's a big, big screen, around 6.7 inches.
00:43The S10 Plus is 6.4 inches.
00:47The S10 is 6.1 inches.
00:49And then the S10e is 5.8 inches.
00:52If you want a phone that is extremely compact,
00:55I highly recommend the S10e.
00:57It is fantastic size, extremely comfortable to hold,
01:02and I do mean extremely comfortable.
01:03Easily use this phone with one hand.
01:06Actually like to do gaming on this phone as well too,
01:08just because of how comfortable it is.
01:10You can just game comfortably with one hand
01:13and just doing anything on this phone, web browsing.
01:17It is awesome.
01:18So if you have smaller hands,
01:20I would highly recommend you guys go with the S10e here,
01:25just if we're going off size.
01:27It is extremely comfortable to use with one hand.
01:31And also I would say the S10 as well too,
01:33because it's really not that much bigger
01:35than the S10e, interestingly enough.
01:39And it actually has a somewhat better display,
01:42which we will get into.
01:44But yes, it is a bit bigger, but as you can see,
01:46it's really not that much bigger, right?
01:49You only get into sort of the bigger phones
01:51with the S10 Plus and the S10 5G.
01:54But if you watch a lot of content,
01:55you're obviously gonna want the biggest display,
01:58and that's gonna be the S10 5G.
02:00But if this phone feels too big
02:02or it looks too big for you at 6.7 inches,
02:05the S10 Plus is probably a perfect size for you as well,
02:08because it's 6.4, but it doesn't feel small either.
02:13So as far as comfortable to hold,
02:17all of these phones are pretty comfortable,
02:20except when you get to the S10 5G, it's a big phone.
02:23All right, so hardware wise,
02:26there is something to note about the hardware
02:27in all of these phones.
02:28All of these phones have stereo speakers,
02:31they all have a headphone jack,
02:32they all have glass and metal designs,
02:34they all have IP68 dust and water resistant.
02:37The biggest difference here is that none of these phones
02:41have 5G except for the S10 5G,
02:44but all of these phones, the S10 Plus, the S10 and S10e
02:48have microSD card support, but the S10 5G does not.
02:52So that's a big hardware difference.
02:54If you're somebody that downloads a ton of content
02:56on your phone, the biggest difference is
03:00no SD card support, SD card support.
03:03So if you're somebody that does that,
03:05you're definitely gonna wanna consider these three
03:08and not the S10 5G.
03:09If you're somebody that wants an older flagship with 5G,
03:12typically you're gonna have to be on Verizon
03:14because these phones are hard to find unlocked.
03:17I mean, the S10 5G is hard to find unlocked,
03:20so you're gonna be on Verizon.
03:22If you're okay with that, then definitely go for that,
03:25but those are gonna be your biggest hardware differences.
03:28All right, so let's go ahead and talk about the display.
03:30So we already kind of went over the display sizes.
03:32Here's the thing you need to know about the displays.
03:35All of these phones have a 1440p display or a 2K display
03:39except for the S10e, which it doesn't really need it
03:43because looking at all of them side by side,
03:45it looks just as good as these
03:46because it's just a much smaller display.
03:48It's 1080p, but it still has a high PPI.
03:52Here's sort of the thing that you may or may not like.
03:54So the S10 and the S10e have a single punch hole.
03:57The S10 Plus and S10 5G have a double punch hole.
04:01To me, the double punch hole doesn't really bother me
04:05that much, but I can see how it could be bothering
04:09to some people though, and you might not care
04:12about having that extra depth sensor.
04:15So like I said, I wouldn't let the double punch hole
04:18dissuade you from buying the phone
04:20because once you start using it,
04:22you really just, your eyes sort of ignore it very quickly.
04:25So that's something to definitely take into consideration.
04:29But like I said, all of these phones have beautiful
04:32super AMOLED displays, I mean dynamic AMOLED displays,
04:35and they are just awesome to look at.
04:37They're awesome to game on.
04:40They're just great displays in general, guys.
04:42So definitely take that into consideration.
04:45A lot of people ask, is there a big difference
04:47with the 1080p panel on the S10e?
04:49In my opinion, no, it looks extremely good.
04:53It still looks just as good as the other flagships.
04:57So definitely take that into consideration.
05:00Also, you know, the S10 just looks awesome.
05:06It's like watching 1440p on such a phone
05:09that's really comfortable to hold,
05:11it's just really, really nice.
05:13So these phones are all capable of running Android 12
05:17with One UI 4.1.
05:18They all have the Snapdragon 855 chip on here.
05:22Now all of these phones are in their security patch stages,
05:26so they will get approximately three years
05:28of security patches that is promised from Samsung themselves.
05:32And these phones will not get Android 13,
05:35so I'm gonna go ahead and clarify that
05:37for the people that ask.
05:39No, they won't get Android 13,
05:41they will only get security patches.
05:42So just like now, if we go to my settings,
05:46you can see the S10e is on One UI 4.1,
05:49but it's still getting, you can see overall stability,
05:53your device has been improved,
05:54and then if you go to the docs,
05:56you can see what Samsung added
05:58as far as features and stuff like that.
06:00So if they release, let's say a One UI 4.2,
06:05these phones will most likely get them,
06:07but these phones will not get One UI 5 or Android 13.
06:12So I'm gonna go ahead and clarify that for you guys.
06:14They will be in their security patch stages.
06:18All right, so one of the things that I really love
06:20about all of these phones
06:22is that they all have the same software features.
06:24So just for the S10e, for example,
06:26they all have a Samsung desktop support,
06:29they all have secure folders,
06:30they all have just everything,
06:33reverse wireless charging on here,
06:35they all basically do the same thing.
06:36So that's another question that I get,
06:39are the features different?
06:40No, none of the features are different on these phones.
06:44They all do the exact same thing software-wise.
06:47All right, so I do wanna go ahead
06:48and touch on gaming performance on here as well too.
06:52So I dropped multiple gaming tests on these devices here,
06:57and basically the best thing about buying an older flagship,
07:00and we're gonna get into that topic
07:02with older flagship versus mid-range,
07:04especially for the price.
07:06If you're somebody that plays PUBG competitively
07:09or you play games on your phone,
07:11you typically do not want to get a mid-range phone.
07:14There are some mid-range phones
07:15with some pretty strong chips like the POCO X3 Pro.
07:18As you can see here, if I go ahead and go to PUBG,
07:22this is what mid-range phones won't be able to do.
07:24Let's say for instance the Galaxy A53 or the A52.
07:28You can see you can't play these games
07:31on HDR Extreme like PUBG.
07:33So I said, if you're somebody that plays PUBG,
07:35does it really make sense to get a phone
07:39that won't be able to play,
07:41and like I'm saying, if you're a competitive player,
07:44you want the great settings and stuff like that.
07:46It doesn't make sense to spend more money
07:48because the S10, I mean the A53 is like 400 bucks.
07:54It makes sense to get this phone that's around like 280,
07:58even these are much cheaper.
08:00And you have the same graphic settings,
08:02you have PUBG on Extreme FPS, and it plays awesome.
08:07It just plays so great.
08:10Not only PUBG, but just any game you throw at it.
08:11The Snapdragon 855 chip is gonna be much better
08:14than the mid-range chips that they put in the A52 or A53,
08:19mid-range phones.
08:21So definitely keep that into consideration.
08:24These older flagships, they're just gonna be much better
08:27for gaming performance.
08:29I truly stand by that.
08:30I highly recommend you guys take that into consideration
08:34if you're a gamer, because I'm telling you,
08:36you're going to be upset when your phone is,
08:39when you get a mid-range and the game is lagging.
08:41And in general, and like I said, I'm gonna show you guys,
08:44most of those mid-range phones,
08:45they're not even gonna be as fast as these older flagships
08:48in terms of launching applications,
08:50in terms of staying speedy when you're just launching apps
08:55and just flying and multitasking and going through stuff.
08:58I'm telling you, those mid-range chips,
09:00they start to lag and stuff like that.
09:01That's why I typically don't show you guys
09:03mid-range phones on this channel,
09:04is I don't think they're worth it for the price, right?
09:07So definitely take that into consideration here.
09:11Another thing I think we should touch on is battery life.
09:14So best battery life, easily the S10 5G.
09:17Extremely impressive battery life, man.
09:20Very impressive.
09:22All of these phones can get up to six hours
09:24of screen on time, but for best battery life,
09:27it literally goes in this order.
09:29So it would be the S10 5G, S10+, S10,
09:32and then the S10e actually has, excuse me.
09:36So the S10e, when I said six hours, I meant these phones.
09:39The S10e cannot get six hours.
09:41So that's the only thing about this phone.
09:43Typically, you're looking at like four hours and 30 minutes
09:47because it's just a smaller battery.
09:49That's why they typically don't make
09:52small flagship phones anymore
09:54because that was the biggest complaint with this phone,
09:56is the battery life.
09:57It's not that great, especially if you're a gamer.
09:59You can easily kill the phone, have to charge it,
10:02you know, stuff like that.
10:03So take that into consideration.
10:05That is the one trade-off for having such a small phone.
10:09All right, so one thing I wanted to mention
10:12was the S10e, to me, has the best fingerprint scanner.
10:16It's got a physical one.
10:17It's the only one with a physical one
10:18and they put it in such a spot.
10:20I love this spot.
10:21It just feels natural.
10:22Like when you unlock a in-display fingerprint sensor,
10:26like it works fine, but this one just feels so unconscious.
10:32Like it just feels so natural.
10:34Like you don't think about unlocking this phone.
10:37Like it just unlocks and you don't really think about it
10:40because you're already turning the phone on
10:41and typically, you know, it's just gonna unlock.
10:44So that's one thing that I really love
10:47about the S10e, by the way.
10:51What else did I want to touch on?
10:53Oh, speaker quality.
10:54Yeah, I wanted to do this comparison for you guys
10:56because the S10 5G literally has,
10:59might be one of the most surprising speakers
11:02that I've heard in a while.
11:04It is extremely impressive.
11:07So let's go ahead and compare them.
11:21All right.
11:23Let's go ahead and put all of these at max volume.
11:26All of these have Dolby Atmos on.
11:28They all have excellent speakers,
11:29but you know, I just want to see.
11:36All right, we'll start with the S10 5G.
11:52Yeah, it's just much louder.
12:23Yeah, so the S10 5G speakers definitely sound
12:26the loudest here, the punchiest here.
12:28It is very impressive speaker to me.
12:35All of these actually sound identical.
12:39So that's pretty interesting.
12:41But yes, so the speaker quality on the S10 5G is amazing.
12:45So if you guys are considering buying a older Samsung phone,
12:50as far as the cameras go,
12:52they all pretty much have the same camera setup,
12:56except for, you can see,
13:00the S10 has only a ultra wide, doesn't have the telephoto,
13:04but they all take the same pictures,
13:06literally take the same type of pictures.
13:08They all take excellent photos, shoot great in 4K as well.
13:13You do have those depth sensors up front
13:15on the Plus and the 5G version.
13:18Um, yeah, these are awesome photo takers.
13:20So that's also one thing that I highly recommend.
13:23You get a great camera for 200 something dollars.
13:26So that's also something very impressive.
13:28So guys, consider buying a S10 series phone in 2022.
