00:00What's up guys, so it's been about a year since we've had the s22 ultra here
00:05and I wanted to go over the phone just my experience having this phone comparing it to a bunch of other phones and
00:12Yeah, so I've been having a really good experience with this phone
00:14But I was really more interested in how this phone is gonna do in the use refurbished marketplace
00:21Since the s23 ultra is right around the corner and you can see it's typically trending still for around
00:27$800 to maybe
00:30Yes, $700 for a used refurbished model and you can on Amazon trade it in
00:36So you can get up to 400 back depending on the type of phone
00:39So you can't do a good trade in so I think now's a good time to buy this phone
00:43I can see the price coming down solid to around $700 by you know middle of this year or something like that
00:50So I think if you're thinking about, you know, buying or trading your phone for this
00:53I think that it's a pretty good deal for the most part
00:57Especially if you were not impressed with the s23 ultra
01:00I know the trade-in deals were pretty trash. The pre-order deals are pretty trash for the s23 ultra
01:06So I can see why it's the s23 3 ultra in the s22 ultra if you want to be honest
01:11It's not a massive jump
01:13I do have the phone coming for you guys just compare to all my older phones just in case you do want to upgrade
01:18But just know it's not not really like a crazy leap, right?
01:22But yeah, so let's go ahead and just dive into this phone performance wise
01:26So when I first got this phone, it was a little oh, yeah
01:29Let me talk about the wallpapers and somebody's gonna ask it's live loop
01:33I'm gonna do a video about this app and I have another app for live wallpapers. It's a pretty
01:39It's a pretty good wallpaper app. I'm actually really impressed with it
01:44It just high quality wallpapers live wallpapers and stuff like that. So definitely I check that out on the Play Store
01:50All right. So basically this phone when it came out it was a little bit jerky
01:55With that beginning just like all phones when they first come out
01:58But this one UI 5 update has really fixed a lot of the animations and stuff like that. It's super super buttery
02:04Smooth. I don't really have the animation stutters like I used to
02:09It's a very very fast and fluid phone like you would expect for this price point. It just it just really really fast
02:16So I was really happy with that the one UI 5 update also guys helped a lot with battery life
02:22This phone and more specifically standby time so this phone would struggle I would notice it just dies kind of fast with standby time
02:29Now the screen on time hasn't really changed too much the screen on time is a little bit better
02:34But not dramatically better with the one UI 5 update
02:38But yeah, it definitely does a little bit better with standby time
02:42I notice if you just let the device sit before that
02:45It would just kind of die quicker than I would expect it to but battery life is definitely better with the software update
02:51So I'm really happy about that
02:54also the screen on the
02:57S22 ultra still one of my favorite screens to date after you know testing out some of the you know
03:03the best phones I think this is
03:06They make some of the best screens
03:07The only screen that I like more than this phone is the s not the s but the one plus 7 Pro
03:13It has an all-time just because there's no punch hole. It pops up with the camera. It is really cool and
03:20Honestly, I don't I'm not a huge fan of these boxy screens if it were up to me
03:24I do prefer like the galaxy s21 ultra screen
03:27I think that's like a perfect screen as far as like easy to hold but this the whole boxy look is really nice
03:34I'm a big fan of like the curved edges. I know a lot of people don't like them
03:38I like I think it makes a phone look a little bit more premium to me
03:41But a lot of people don't like the curved edges
03:43But I do really like it and the brightness on the screen is still crazy bright as well, too
03:48Like I said high resolution screen 1440p resolution

03:57Display on here and just beautiful to look at here 500 for the PPI
04:01So just a very high resolution display here for the most part. It's just really really nice
04:07I do want to talk about the body shape of this phone and that's my biggest issue
04:11With these boxier type of phones here. So it's a bit more comfortable if you put a case on it
04:16It's not as sharp and it doesn't cut into the hand that much if you put a case on it
04:21but I prefer to put like a really thin case on it simply because the phone is already kind of heavy and
04:27It just makes it like that's just a bulky case just makes it feel too heavy
04:32And I just don't like it if I could not put a case on this that would be nice
04:35But like it's just like one of those things where the phone is heavy and super boxy
04:40But it's a beautiful design. The design has grown on me
04:44I was never a hater of this design a lot of people when it first came out
04:47They were like, oh this looks terrible in comparison to the s21 ultra
04:52I thought the design looked really good simply because it actually looks a lot like the LG velvet and I was a big fan of
04:58That phone and I think it looks still really good with the camera setup here
05:04It just looks really clean and I really do like it
05:08It is also IP68 dust and water resistant it is also a you know glass and metal phone here and
05:16You have the built-in stylus so
05:19the built-in stylus is here and
05:22I typically don't really use the stylus unless I'm like bored and I just like color something in
05:28You know just a time goes by but it's actually pretty good for like making a grocery list and stuff like that
05:35so if you
05:36Are like me and forget stuff at the store and stuff you come in here and you make a grocery list
05:42You know scribble your stuff down whatever you need to uh, you guys can't even see that
05:49But yeah, I like it for a grocery list guys
05:52But if you're a digital artist or whatever you come in here
05:56You can this the pen is so accurate where it's just like ah, it's really amazing
06:02Just how accurate and smooth it feels so you can actually do like some real digital artwork
06:07I've seen it on YouTube you guys can type that in check it out
06:10But it's really impressive what people are able to do with this
06:13So I think the pen is awesome, especially for people who are creatives and stuff like that
06:18But Samson throws in a lot of cool features with the S pen as well, too
06:22Like I said, I'm gonna use it that much unless I'm bored or unless I need like a grocery list thing
06:27All right guys, I want to talk about performance on here the snapdragon 8gen one
06:32It's a very fast chip. Obviously, it's a flagship chip and it's gonna do really good with performance again
06:37Like I've been saying all year the phone gets way too warm
06:41When doing long periods of gaming if you're just using a phone like regular or if you start recording video
06:46It starts to get kind of like hot a little bit now
06:48I don't know, you know, we'll find out next week if they solve this issue with the s23 ultra
06:55But yeah, that's one of my complaints about this phone. It's a little little too hot. Samson needs to work on the cooling
07:00So far, you know, even with the updates, it's still like it still is kind of a warm phone now
07:05I've never had this phone, you know crash when playing games, so I've never had this phone like start
07:11You know glitching and dropping frames. It's not never has gotten that bad, but
07:17Definitely it can definitely get a little bit warm. Now. Most people are gonna use the case on they might not even notice
07:22But yeah, that was one of the things I was concerned about because if the phone gets hot then it'll degrade the battery life over
07:28time, especially if you plan on keeping this phone for a long time
07:31Which I think a lot of people will because this phone gets this gets a crazy long
07:36Lifespan four years of major OS updates and then it gets five years of security patches
07:40People are gonna keep this phone for a very long time because it's gonna be supported for a very long time
07:44so definitely that's something to keep an eye on and
07:48Yeah, one thing also that I did not like when this phone first came out and I'm glad they got rid of it was the
07:56128 gig base model for a phone that is over a thousand dollars twelve hundred dollars to be exact really thirteen hundred dollars after taxes
08:05That's just that's not enough storage for people taking video
08:09You know playing games
08:10It's just not enough storage
08:12Samsung got rid of that and now the base model is 256 gigs 8 gigs of RAM
08:17Even though I'm not crazy about the 8 gigs. I think that's really stupid too. It should be standard 12 gigs
08:22But hey, right, you know not enough people complain about it. So that's why Samsung was able to do that
08:29I'm gonna make sure I keep complaining about it 8 gigs of RAM
08:32Unacceptable talk about one of the most disappointing things on this phone is definitely the speakers
08:42Super flat just flat
08:50In comparison to Samsung's previous flagships
08:53iPhone 14 Pro the pixel 7 Pro these speakers suck
08:58Now with the s23 all drop heard that they've gotten much better. But this phone speakers suck
09:04It just sounds flat no bass

09:16Also fingerprint scanner is very fast on here. So that's pretty sweet
09:21Always really like that and then you have face unlock as well to you, which you could take advantage of
09:26And then all your other little bells and whistles are actually orange here as well. Samsung desktop support wireless decks
09:32It's extremely slept on
09:33Wireless power sharing awesome secure folders this phone gets like I said, it's crazy bright outdoors
09:39So a lot of your software features are really awesome on this phone
09:44And I absolutely love it. I think Samsung desktop support is really really cool guys
09:48I'm gonna make an updated video about that because I don't think a lot of people use it
09:51All right. Lastly is the cameras. So this phone still has one of the most impressive camera setups to me
09:58It's just absolutely awesome
10:00So if you're going out and you're at a sporting event or something like that the zoom cameras on here
10:07It's just absolutely crazy 10 times zooms looks amazing
10:10But 30 times zoom looks still really good on this phone. Now, obviously the hundred times zoom is not really usable
10:16But still it zooms crazy good. I even took a picture of the moon with this phone and it came out pretty nice
10:23It's just it's just impressive. I think Samsung is doing an excellent job with the cameras on here
10:28I love the image processing great dynamic range over here 108 megapixels tons of detail if you turn that on
10:36Good low-light performance, you know pretty good decent
10:40Also video I think is slept on I think video is pretty good over here as well to the macro camera is pretty good
10:46I think overall this has one of the best Android camera setups because it does the crazy zoom
10:51So like I said, you're a sporting event or anything being able to zoom in and get that good shot
10:55It's pretty awesome portrait shots look good selfies look good
10:59I'd really like the cameras on the s22 ultra. Like I said, they're top tier
11:03Cameras and like I said from what I'm seeing. It's not too much of a difference from the s23 ultra
11:08So if you do decide to pick this phone up, you're not missing out on really too much
11:12Right, you're still getting very impressive cameras here just for specs a you got 10 megapixel periscope telephoto
11:19There's 10x another 10 megapixel telephoto 3x
11:22And then you also have a 12 megapixel ultrawide. She's an 8k 24 40 megapixel selfie. She's in 4k 60
11:29So it's just a great camera overall
11:31No one no one will buy this phone and be like, I don't like the cameras cameras aren't good enough
11:36No one it's excellent camera experience
11:40Lastly again the battery experience I went over that this does have a 5,000 milliamp battery 45 watt fast charging
11:47So it does charge up pretty fast. And then you also have wireless and reverse wireless charging
11:52I think it's a fantastic phone. Like I said, it's pretty good at this price, you know
11:59$700-800 especially if you do some type of trade-in, but do I see the phone coming down in price this year?
12:05Yes, but I don't think it's gonna come down
