00:00what's up guys today we're going to be talking about the oneplus 7 pro in 2022 and 2023 going
00:06into 2023 i get a lot of questions about this phone so this phone sparked my interest because
00:11today's video partner is with mint mobile guys and i was really excited about that bringing them
00:17on board to the channel and i was like the one of the phones that i can just test out with this
00:22service is going to be the 7 pro because it just blew my mind when i picked it up again and how
00:28just nice this phone is uh even though i've been using this pixel 7 pro iphone 14 pro the s22 ultra
00:35um this phone still is just an awesome older flagship and it's super uh cheap all right guys
00:41so you can find the 7 pro for around 175 bucks it's just absolutely crazy how cheap this phone
00:48has gotten over the years now 175 typically they're ranging around 250 depending on your
00:53configuration whether you go 128 or 256 uh but it's such a great uh price here and also if you
00:59guys do get this and then you want to save money i would definitely check out uh today's video

01:59see we got perfect signal 35.65 and then 9.57 for the upload as well too uh so you can go ahead and
02:09activate it's very easy you can do the e-sim and do it that way straight from your phone or you can
02:14go ahead and do the traditional sim which i did on my oneplus 7 pro here i just popped it in
02:20activated it was super fast uh very easy you just have to download the mint app and everything goes

02:40that out guys all right guys so the first thing i want to talk about is the display on this phone
02:45it's definitely the highlight of this phone if you guys are into a lot of movie watching or just
02:50you look at a lot of content on your phone or you just appreciate a beautiful screen design
02:54that is the thing that i fell in love with this phone uh with it's just the screen is absolutely
02:58beautiful even though i have 14 pro 6 uh pixel 7 pro s22 ultra it still doesn't come close to
03:06the viewing experience on this phone so when you're watching uh you know youtube videos or
03:11whatever on your phone it's just a beautiful experience it's like an edge to edge it has
03:16the curve to it which some people don't like but it still looks uh really good uh to me it just
03:22gives you that like full screen like i'm just holding a screen with very small bezels so it
03:26gives off that feeling and also just when you're just doing anything on this phone whether it's
03:32playing video games or whatever on here uh it is just a breeze um here and they're able to do this
03:38with the pop-up uh selfie cam on here as well and as you guys can see it's a full 1440p 6.7 inch
03:46uh display here it is fluid amoled and it is 90 hertz as well too so it doesn't feel outdated
03:51uh compared to some other phones yes not 120 hertz but it's not 60 hertz display so it still has
03:57that really smooth kind of feel to it um as well so i just think this phone's display has just aged
04:03uh so well to the point where it still looks futuristic even next to one of the latest
04:08flagship phones like the even the 14 pro it still looks like a futuristic device right
04:14that's absolutely crazy to me it is still pretty bright as well too i don't really have issues
04:19viewing this outdoors and the ppi like i said is super high on here as well too icons are all sharp
04:25you can watch 1440p content i mean it's really an impressive uh display here so what a lot of
04:31people probably don't expect is for an older flagship that came out in what 2019 to actually
04:37be good at gaming not only is this phone still great at gaming but it's actually well more
04:42optimized than some other flagship phones here uh so most flagship phones could do pub g at hdr
04:49extreme this phone can actually do 90 frames a lot of phones do not have that like my 14 pro the
04:55pixel uh i think even the s22 ultra doesn't have the 90 frames option the 7 pro does have the 90
05:01frames option so playing shooting games on here games like pub g is just crazy smooth so this has
05:06the snapdragon 855 chip on here this version has 6 gigs of ram there's no sd card support
05:12unfortunately um but yeah this phone is crazy smooth when it comes to gaming i think the only
05:20game account i struggled with was fortnite um but everything else it still plays really well
05:25and make sure you guys peep the screen guys look how nice this looks uh playing pub g without a
05:31little hole in the display or without like a little big notch uh it's still a great gaming
05:36phone so definitely if you guys like you know the idea of gaming on a screen like this i would
05:42definitely check this phone out for that um sometimes i just like to play games on this phone
05:47simply because of the screen even if it's just like small games like subway surf or something
05:51like that but yeah the snapdragon 855 chip is pretty well optimized you can see it's playing
05:56pub g like a breeze um on here this phone doesn't really overheat uh the snapdragon 855 chip is
06:02actually pretty well optimized i would say one of you know one of their most well optimized chip
06:08it's not it doesn't heat up as much as these newer phones uh these days uh but yeah definitely
06:13check that out and i'll go ahead and show you guys uh the pub g score and not the pub g scores
06:18but the geekbench scores for everybody that is curious about what those look like and use these
06:24and compare them this is the latest ones you can see on android 11 here and speaking of android
06:3311 here so this is very important uh for people who buy older flagship phones so this phone will
06:40get android 12 it's still in its beta stages right now um there's a few betas going on around
06:46i don't like to put betas on my phone because battery life is typically terrible and there's
06:49tons of bugs um so when the stable version comes out i'll let you guys know it is taking a while
06:54actually um but yeah that will be the last update and then this phone will get a few years of
07:00security patches as well too so you get android 12 and you get a few years of security patches so
07:05you can keep this phone for another uh three years no problem it's still gonna get uh you know
07:09security updates so that is also something you guys um you know just need to know um also one of
07:17the things about this phone is that i think the stereo speakers are top-notch uh on this device
07:21just so you guys can hear
07:27so it does have pretty good stereo speakers again not the craziest that i've had even
07:41you know in my old flagship collection these aren't the craziest ones but
07:47they get pretty good bass quality if you cover this one this top speaker does a pretty good job
07:51as well too so overall speaker quality is pretty good it's very loud i've never had an issue
07:56uh with this device and i've used this phone for years as my uh main device um so yeah so i do want
08:02to go ahead and talk about some other things that you guys should know about and that is the
08:08fingerprint scanner is buttery smooth fast on here you guys see basically instant feels really nice
08:14really fast and then what's really cool is that they actually let you use the pop-up cam for face
08:20unlock which is really awesome so anytime i'm in public and people see that pop-up it always it's
08:26like whoa wait what kind of phone is that that's always uh intrigued people all right so i want to
08:30go ahead and talk about the image quality on the 7 pro now is it the best in its class of old
08:35flagships um no but i've used the phone like i said for my as my main device and it took some
08:41really great photos um now that i look back at the shots if you're a point and click type of person
08:46it's going to take more than a good enough photo for i think most people it's 48 megapixel standard
08:52an 8 megapixel telephoto does 3x optical zoom and then you have a 16 megapixel ultra wide it
08:57shoots in 4k 60 with a pop-up selfie cam that shoots in 1080p 30 like i said image quality is
09:03pretty good yes do the selfies kind of need some little color editing stuff like that yes um but
09:09in general like i said if you're in good lighting this takes great great photos like i said the newer
09:15phones they do such a much better job at um low light photography but i think in general um just
09:22well lit medium lit setting this is going to still take a pretty great uh shot so you can see the
09:28pictures for yourself honestly they speak for themselves so you can let me know what you guys
09:32think of those shots uh on this phone all right so what about the battery situation how has this phone
09:38aged as far as battery wise uh first off this phone still charges pretty somewhat fast it charges
09:44at 30 watts but they release this phone with no wireless charging as well so sometimes you just
09:48want to put the phone down and let it charge but you know they didn't add that here but like i said
09:52it does charge pretty fast um also it's got a 4000 milliamp battery on here so this phone it still
09:59gives me about a full day's use of battery life on here i've never had this phone die on me ever
10:06um when i was out i took it to ces in 2020 and i've never had this phone die on me even when i
10:13was like filming stuff and taking photos sending emails blah blah blah um this phone has never
10:20actually died on me once um so this phone does have pretty good battery life like i said um so
10:26definitely i think it's still great uh for you know just an average user yeah if you probably
10:30play a ton of games stuff like that could probably die on you but if you're like a light gamer but
10:36if you're like if you're a light gamer this phone it easily lasts all day um so be sure to let me
