00:00What's up guys, today we're going to be talking about the top 5 best $200 old flagships.
00:05So I want to go ahead and update this list slightly, and I want to go ahead and start
00:08off with the Pixel 7.
00:10So this phone has been really impressive, just really a favorite of mine.
00:14I think should be a number one consideration for anyone around this budget who really is
00:19camera focused.
00:21So you can find this used refurbished, $200, it's got the aluminum frame, it's also got
00:26the glass back, very premium feeling and looking phone as well too.
00:31It's also IP68 dust and water resistant as well.
00:35And this phone does have a 6.3 inch AMOLED display, it's 90Hz with HDR10+, and then you
00:41have 1400 nits peak brightness with a 1080p resolution and 416 for the PPI.
00:47It's a pretty good display on here, I thought it was pretty decent as well in direct sunlight
00:53if you're outdoors, I didn't have too much of an issue with this phone.
00:56And also just holding the phone, it's pretty nice if you don't have really big hands or
01:02you struggle.
01:03This phone, it's a decent size at 6.3 inches, so that's something that I really liked.
01:09Now what's awesome about this phone is that you do have Android 14 on here in the Google
01:14Tensor G2 processor, you also have 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM.
01:20So basically this phone is pretty fast, I mean it's got stock Android on here, it's
01:26a very clean operating system, and I had no issues with this Tensor G2 processor on
01:32here.
01:33So you can also do some gaming on here as well too, I was able to play PUBG at HDR Extreme.
01:38So again, not necessarily a gaming gaming phone, I would pick another phone on this
01:42list for that, but performance on here is fantastic.
01:45I don't think this phone has any issues at all when it comes to that.
01:49The stereo speakers are really loud, so you get a good amount of bass, really good sounding
01:54speakers on here.
01:55You do get a fingerprint scanner, it is optical, and it works fine, I didn't really have too
01:59much of an issue with that.
02:01But what's really cool about these Pixel phones is that you get to test out the beta software,
02:06so like Android 15 right now is in beta, you can test it out on the Pixels, so that's always
02:10the cool thing about these Pixel phones, it's your first to get the new software.
02:15So the star of the show is really the cameras on the Pixel phones.
02:18So it's got a 50MP standard and a 12MP ultra-wide.
02:22It can shoot in 4K60 with a 10.8MP selfie cam, and that is also in ultra-wide, and it
02:28shoots in 4K60.
02:30The photos on here are absolutely phenomenal.
02:33The Pixel phones usually always win in people's blind smartphone tests and stuff like that.
02:38It is a really really great phone, whether you are in good lighting, low light, whatever,
02:43this is going to take some fantastic shots.
02:45Now the Pixel 7 does have pretty good battery life, it's a 4,355mAh battery.
02:52It does have wire charging on here as well at 20 watts, and then you have 20 watt wireless
02:57charging, and you also do have reverse wireless charging as well too.
03:00And I really had an issue with the battery performance on this phone, it pretty much
03:04lasted a day for me.
03:05So yeah, I think overall this phone, if you're really into photos, you like stock Android,
03:12this is a really top consideration I think.
03:15Alright guys, next is going to be the Galaxy S21 FE, one of my favorite phones on the list.
03:20This phone just got the One UI 6.1 update as well too, which was very exciting.
03:25And what I like about this phone is, I think this is a better phone than the standard S21,
03:31simply because the battery life is much better.
03:34But this phone has an aluminum frame, a plastic back on here, but it has a soft touch to it,
03:40so it doesn't really pick up fingerprints, it kind of has a matte finish.
03:43And it's also IP68 dust and water resistant as well too, and it's very comfortable to
03:48hold.
03:49It has a 6.4 inch dynamic AMOLED display, 120hz HDR10+, 1080p resolution, and 403 for
03:57the PPI.
03:58It's a beautiful display, very nice slim bezels on here as well too.
04:02And overall, no issues with the panel on here, does fantastic in terms of indoor, outdoors
04:10is fine as well too.
04:12So I really like the display on here, very colorful.
04:14This phone got the Android 14 update, and it's been really fast, very speedy.
04:19This phone is going to get Android 15 as well too, so that's going to be really exciting.
04:23You do have the Snapdragon AAA processor on here as well.
04:27You have 128 gigs of internal storage and 6 gigs of RAM.
04:30So on this base model, it's pretty fast, like this phone is really, really fast when it
04:35comes to pretty much doing anything.
04:37That's why I say at this price point, I love recommending this phone because it's just
04:42so much better than a Galaxy A55 or A35, whatever Samsung is selling in the mid-range department.
04:49This is just a much better phone in my opinion.
04:52Also the processor on here is excellent, it has really good specs for gaming as well too.
04:57So whether you play in PUBG or Call of Duty, whatever you pretty much throw at this phone,
05:02it's going to do a fantastic job, like PUBG plays at HDR Extreme.
05:06And then the speakers on here are pretty decent as well too, you got stereo speakers.
05:09And this also has pretty much all of the flagship features when it comes to the software, like
05:14Samsung desktop support is on here as well too, which is really nice.
05:18You have an optical under the display fingerprint sensor, which works, no problems.
05:23And this phone I think still takes really great photos as you guys can see from the
05:26stills here.
05:27You have a 12 megapixel standard and an 8 megapixel telephoto with 3x optical zoom.
05:32And then a 12 megapixel ultra-wide and then a 4K 60 video on here as well too.
05:39You have a 32 megapixel selfie with 4K 60 video as well.
05:43And you can see from the shots, you get some pretty good photos out of the S21 FE and good
05:47lighting is great.
05:49And even in low light, it's still pretty decent.
05:51So this is a phone that I really like as well too for pictures and video as well, solid.
05:56So honestly, it's a fantastic phone when it comes to photos.
06:00And battery life, like I said, it's much better, I think, than the standard S21.
06:05It has a 4,500 milliamp hour battery with 25 watt charging and wireless charging and
06:11reverse wireless charging on board.
06:13So overall, I think this is an excellent pick for 200 bucks.
06:16Alright, so next is the iPhone 12.
06:18So the iPhone 11 was on this list last time, but now the 12 has come down in price to around
06:23250 bucks.
06:25So this is a fantastic phone.
06:27I would much rather you get this phone and spend the little extra money because it's
06:33going to get more software updates than the 11.
06:35So this one has an aluminum frame.
06:37It has more of a modern iPhone look.
06:40It's also IP68 dust and water resistant.
06:42It has kind of like those sharp kind of boxier edges on here.
06:46But it is a somewhat smaller phone so it is pretty easy to hold with one hand.
06:51Now this phone has a 6.1 inch display.
06:53It's the Retina XDR OLED display, 1200 nits at the peak brightness at 6.1 inches.
06:59So not a massive screen.
07:01I think it would be more compact these days.
07:04So it's 1170 by 2532 resolution at 460 for the PPI.
07:10It's a very nice display.
07:11Very nice high quality display here.
07:14Very good resolution on here.
07:16Very very clear.
07:17And yeah I absolutely love the display on here.
07:20It's fantastic.
07:22And the only thing about this phone is that they never added 90 hertz or 120 hertz or
07:28anything on these older iPhones.
07:31But they're still pretty smooth for the most part.
07:33This phone has the latest iOS 17.5 update and it's running the Apple A14 chip which
07:39is still very very fast.
07:41If you benchmark it, it still performs really really well.
07:44So for games like PUBG it's still going to do a fantastic job.
07:48Still playing at HDR extreme at 60 frames.
07:51And you have 64 gigs of internal storage and 4 gigs of RAM which I think is a little bit
07:55low here in 2024.
07:58So if you take a lot of videos and stuff like that you might want to upgrade to the 128
08:03gig model because 64 gig might not be enough.
08:07So you do have pretty decent speakers on here for the size of the phone.
08:11It's a good amount of bass.
08:12And then you also of course have Face ID.
08:14Now this phone's cameras are still pretty solid.
08:17It's got a 12 megapixel standard and a 12 megapixel ultrawide.
08:21It can shoot in 4K 60 with a 12 megapixel selfie.
08:24That also shoots in 4K 60.
08:26And you get some pretty good shots out of the iPhone 12 I think.
08:29I was actually pretty surprised even when I compared it to, what is it, the iPhone 15
08:34Pro.
08:35It did a pretty good job at side by side stills.
08:38Now of course when you put it in a low light scenario then you can kind of see the age
08:42of the phone.
08:43But besides that, in good lighting you will get a fantastic shot with the iPhone 12 and
08:48also very good video as well.
08:50So this phone's battery life is just okay.
08:54It's a 2850 milliamp hour battery and my battery health I think is around 86 or 87% and it
09:01does pretty decent.
09:02I think if you're gaming you're definitely going to have to charge this phone.
09:06But for a light user this should be fine to get through the day.
09:09You also got the MagSafe charging on here so you can attach the MagSafe accessories
09:14and stuff like that.
09:15And you also have your standard wireless charging.
09:17Alright so next is the LG V60.
09:20So this is still a fantastic phone and it's kind of a niche phone for a lot of people
09:25because it's a very very powerful phone.
09:28Now of course LG's not making phones anymore so this was their, you know, kind of last
09:32phone.
09:33So this is the Android 13 update which definitely gave it a lot of life so you can kind of use
09:37it for a pretty long time and not have to really worry about it software wise.
09:42But this phone is really built like a tank.
09:44It's got the aluminum frame, glass back, it's IP68 dust and water resistant and it's just
09:49really really solid.
09:50You can find these for $189 these days, it's really really cheap.
09:55And then you also have a 6.8 inch P-OLED display, it's HDR10+, 1080p, 395 for the PPI.
10:02This phone does have a dual screen case attachment that you can find used online for maybe like
10:07$50-$60.
10:09And the screen on here is great.
10:10The only thing I think with this display is it doesn't have 90Hz or anything like that.
10:15So it's still a smooth display for a 60Hz panel but it does look really really nice.
10:20So like I said last major OS update was Android 13, it has the Snapdragon 865 on here.
10:27Now what a lot of people like about this phone is it does have micro SD card support, it's
10:31got 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM.
10:34So this phone is still blazing blazing fast when it comes to gaming performance.
10:40You know you can play PUBG at HDR extreme, pretty much anything.
10:43And you also have that expandable storage as well too.
10:46And this phone does have a headphone jack with a quad DAC.
10:49So if you're into high quality audio listening you definitely will like this phone for that.
10:57Like I said this is just a very powerful phone for this price point of under $200 is actually
11:02kind of crazy.
11:03The speakers are pretty good on here as well too, has a good amount of bass, gets fairly
11:07loud.
11:08And then you also have the under the display fingerprint sensor which is fine, it does
11:11work.
11:12It is an optical one but it does work if you apply just a little bit of pressure.
11:17So the cameras on the V60 definitely have age I can tell just looking at the shots compared
11:24to the newer phones.
11:25I think the biggest area where the cameras have aged is really low light.
11:30I think if you're in good lighting it still takes pretty great photos I think.
11:34But yeah anything kind of low light you kind of see the images are a little bit softer,
11:38a little bit grainier, stuff like that.
11:40So it has a 64MP standard, a 13MP ultra wide, and a 0.3 depth sensor.
11:46It's got 8K30 video with a 10MP selfie that shoots in 4K30.
11:52So the cameras on here, like I said, they are fine for the most part in good lighting.
11:57But if you're in low light you'll definitely notice the quality going down a little bit.
12:04Battery life is still phenomenal on the V60.
12:07It's got a 5000mAh battery, you also have wireless charging on here as well too.
12:12And this phone easily lasts all day.
12:13So it's just one of my favorites to pick up these days.
12:17For anybody who I would say is a power user on a budget, I mean it doesn't really get
12:21much better than this phone.
12:22Alright so if you're willing to go, you know, with a really old flagship, the Note 10 Plus
12:28is a phone that I would definitely recommend.
12:31I've done a lot of videos on this, I even did a day in the life with this phone recently
12:35this year and this phone still is amazing if you guys check out those videos.
12:40I'm always impressed with this device, again you can find it, you know, 200 bucks easy.
12:44So it's still got a very beautiful, very timeless design here, aluminum frame, it's got the
12:49really cool design on here as well too, it's IP68 dust and water resistant and then you
12:54also have of course the built-in stylus so you can use it to take notes and draw or do
12:59pretty much anything with.
13:00And then this phone, it does have a very beautiful display still, it still looks very modern
13:06for a phone that came out in, you know, 2019.
13:08It's got a dynamic AMOLED display, it's HDR10+, got pretty slim bezels on here at 6.8 inches,
13:15it's 1440p at 498 for the PPI so just a really nice beautiful high-res display on here.
13:22This phone got its last major update with Android 12, One UI 4.
13:27Now honestly, software-wise it doesn't feel really dated at all, One UI 4 is not that
13:32much different from One UI 6 besides the AI features but everything like Samsung desktop
13:37support applications, you know, everything still pretty much works on this phone no problem.
13:42So you also have Snapdragon 855 microSD card support and what's really awesome is the,
13:47you know, the standard version is 256 and 12 gigs of RAM.
13:51So out the box you get a lot of storage with SD card support and this phone still plays
13:56pretty much anything, it's still really smooth, you can still play PUBG at HDR Extreme, pretty
14:02much most games work really well so it's not really a slow phone at all, it's actually
14:07very very fast still.
14:09So the speakers are pretty decent on here as well too, you get the ultrasonic fingerprint
14:13sensor which works really well, it's very fast.
14:16And then also this phone, again, has the same kind of issue like the V60, in low light it
14:22doesn't do that well but, you know, as you can see from the shots, if you're in good
14:26lighting it takes fantastic shots, it's got a 12 megapixel standard, 12 megapixel telephoto
14:31with 2x optical and a 16 megapixel ultrawide, it has a 0.3 depth sensor and it shoots in
14:374K60, a 10 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K60.
14:41As you guys see from the shots, like I did a whole vlog with this phone as well too,
14:45it did a really really good job I thought, especially for the price point of this phone,
14:50so it can take some pretty good shots if you're in good lighting for sure.
14:54Now the battery life is okay on this phone, it's a 4300 mAh battery, it's got 45 watt
14:59charging, it's got wireless and reverse wireless charging, so if you're not a heavy gamer you
15:05can definitely get through a day with this phone without having to charge it, but yeah,
15:09just know that if you're kind of game heavy, this is a phone you're going to have to charge
15:12for sure, but I think this phone is still really really good for the price point.
15:18So that's pretty much it guys, thanks for watching, what phones would you put on this
15:21list and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
