वाराणसी: प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने वाराणसी में आरजे शंकरा नेत्र अस्पताल का उद्घाटन किया। ये नेत्रालय कांची मठ से संचालित होता है। यहां आयोजित कार्यक्रम को संबोधित करते हुए पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि पहले की सरकारों के समय पूर्वांचल समेत वाराणसी में स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं को जमकर नजरअंदाज किया गया। हालत ये थी कि 10 साल पहले पूर्वांचल में दिमागी बुखार के इलाज के लिए ब्लॉक स्तर पर उपचार केंद्र तक नहीं थे। बच्चों की मृत्यु होती थी, मीडिया में हो हल्ला होता था लेकिन पहले की सरकारें कुछ नहीं करती थी। मुझे संतोष है कि बीते दशक में काशी ही नहीं पूर्वांचल के पूरे क्षेत्र में स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं का अभूतपूर्व विस्तार हुआ है। आज पूर्वांचल में दिमागी बुखार का इलाज करने के लिए 100 से अधिक केंद्र काम कर रहे हैं।
