00:00The 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Championships will be held tomorrow in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

00:10Daryl Oclares will give you the details.

00:16Even though it's only a day before the 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Championships officially opens,

00:24you can already feel the excitement of the upcoming competition.

00:28Despite the bright sun, it seems like it's nothing compared to the world-class paddlers from more than 20 countries

00:37who are already rehearsing in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

00:41The Philippines will not be the last to be given the chance to perform in front of our fellow Filipinos.

00:49Here is the signal and drummer of the Philippine Junior Dragon Boat Team, John Bricks Kaasi,

00:56who is confident that the country will show a good performance in the upcoming tournament.

01:00We already won several gold medals in the past ICF Dragon Boat Championships.

01:06We also held the 200-meter world record.

01:12Kaasi added that they are eager to win medals for all the sacrifices they made to prepare for the competition.

01:22We trained in Davao for three months.

01:25We came here on September 26.

01:29We learned how to run on the sea and how to distribute power and speed.

01:38We had a hard time.

01:40Every drop of blood.

01:42We almost cried on the boat in Davao.

01:44We had back and head aches, headaches, and body aches.

01:49In the middle of the beautiful city of Puerto Princesa,

01:52the best of the Dragon Boat Team will compete as world champions.
