00:08the competition was held in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

00:19For the official start of the action races in Puerto Princesa, Palawan,

00:24the opening ceremony was held this Thursday for the 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Championships.

00:33First in the opening right,

00:35the International Canoe Federation President Tomas Conezco,

00:39Philippine Canoe Kayak Dragon Boat Federation President Len Esculliante,

00:44Philippine Sports Commission Chairperson Richard Bachman,

00:48together with Commissioner Walter Torres,

00:50and Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo Arbayron.

00:54Finally, I wish all participating teams much success in the next few days,

01:00and I'm sure that we will deliver a great show here,

01:04which will be streamed worldwide.

01:06It will inspire our millions of fans, and hopefully all the viewers here.

02:07The competition for the 2,000-meter race was also held today,

02:12where the Philippines won two silver and two bronze medals.

02:18Our Juniors Team also won a silver and a bronze medal

02:22for the Mixed and Open 10 Seater Race,

02:25led by their team captain, Ivan Urcilia.

02:30It's an honor to break the world record for silver in the Juniors,

02:37and it's also an honor for the Philippines to win a silver medal.

02:45Tomorrow, the heats and finals of the 200-meter race will be held,

02:49a new opportunity for our Philippine Dragon Boat Team

02:53to win a medal.
