05:10Previverso has developed concrete ideas for the development of complementary preparedness
05:15for the benefit of new generations.
05:18In eight months of hard work, with more than four meetings,
05:23two and a half days with HR directors, with young people,
05:26we have already made concrete actions.
05:30And this is what I think makes our project a bit unique,
05:34because it is strategic but at the same time highly operational.
05:38Today, one in three has complementary preparedness.
05:41We must reach 100% of people who use complementary preparedness.
05:51An opportunity to talk about play and rules.
05:54An appointment to raise awareness and inform about the impact that illegality can have on the economic system of territories.
06:01In Lecce, Codere, a multinational that operates in the legal game sector,
06:06has organized an appointment sponsored by the municipality of Salentino,
06:09which in its title contains the meaning of the meeting.

06:16From here it emerged that the collaboration between institutions and operators of the sector
06:20is essential to guarantee a responsible gaming environment and protect the most vulnerable people.

06:31The commitment is to talk about it, to give information,
06:36so that citizens can choose in a conscious way between a legal game offer
06:42and distinguish an illegal game offer, with all the problems it involves,
06:48because they can fall into circuits of illegality.
06:52Fundamental becomes the monitoring of the territory
06:55to avoid that there can be scams to the damage of the State and the citizens.
06:59Implementing the verifications and making assurances
07:02have been some of the activities carried out by the Finance Guard.
07:06In fact, during the meeting, it was remembered that in 2022,
07:1022,576 exercises were checked at the national level
07:17and 261 websites were reviewed,
07:21without the necessary authorizations for the implementation of the activity.
07:25The checks have increased in the last period,
07:28because the administration, both at the central level,

08:01It is a sector on which the Finance Guard pays great attention
08:04and on which it certainly intends to invest in the future.
08:08The gaming sector occupies in Italy about 150,000 land,
08:12most of which is obviously occupied on the retail channel.
08:15But the sector has undergone occupational setbacks
08:18due to the restrictions imposed by many local entities,
08:21such as municipalities and municipalities.

13:19with the aim of making all participants
13:21of the concrete choices of sustainability
13:23of the next few years.
13:25With the Observatory, what is key for us
13:28is to listen to Italians,
13:31for their needs and expectations.
13:35We always know that taking things,
13:37making them much more tangible for the Italian
13:40will always be a very important thing for us.
13:42Listening and making everyone participate
13:47is a participatory thing.
13:50We are not talking about something we do ourselves,
13:55but a co-creation,
13:57and this is very important for us,
13:59for this co-creation with Italians
14:01in the communities,
14:03which will then bring a shared value
14:06for the Italian community.
14:08Among the main results
14:10from the analysis of the data collected
14:12through the participatory observatory,
14:14it emerges that sustainability

14:45becomes a widespread practice,
14:47not only by the citizen,
14:49but also by the companies themselves.
14:51But what emerges in an even more relevant way
14:53from this research
14:55is that just because sustainability
14:57is a 360-degree concept,
14:59it is no longer just a matter of reuse,
15:01consumption, recycling
15:03and therefore, overall,
15:05saving resources,
15:07but it also refers to a broader concept
15:09that is that of support
15:11and intervention on communities,
15:13so that all the practices
15:15that we as consumers
15:17put into practice
15:19and that companies can put into practice
15:21can bring value,
15:23shared and participatory
15:25for all territories.

16:01To achieve the goals of the PNRR,
16:03it is necessary to value

16:07and the collection of the organic fraction,

16:11We need measures of simplification

16:17to the biomethane distribution network.

16:23in Italy,
16:25drawn up by the National Biomethane Technology Platform,

16:39The numbers that we have achieved,
16:41on the one hand, are exceptional
16:43because they show that a machine

17:27and biomethane production
17:29will probably have to look
17:31beyond 2026,
17:33which is the last term
17:35of adequacy
17:37as regards the PNRR.
17:39GSE,
17:41the manager of energy services,

17:45and plays a crucial role
17:47in the development of biomethane in Italy,
17:49promoting the integration
17:51of this renewable source
17:53in the national energy market
17:55with 170 qualified plants
17:57guaranteeing annual productivity

18:05production capacity

18:09of biomethane.
18:11110 plants have already
18:13entered into operation.
18:15Only these allow
18:17to produce 760 million cubic meters
18:19of biomethane,

18:23to decarbonize the transport sector.

19:10which can compromise the efficiency
19:12and sustainability of the entire system.
19:14As a force, the organic fraction
19:16of urban solid waste,
19:18wet from differentiated collection,
19:20so all the citizens understand it,
19:22but it can be done much more,
19:24because each citizen could
19:26separately collect
19:28140 kg per year,
19:30so if you multiply
19:32by the number of citizens,
19:34we should go much higher.
19:36Also the quality,
19:38unfortunately,
19:40is a bit of a free fall,
19:42and compostable manufacturing
19:44are fundamental,
19:46both to increase the interception
19:48by citizens of this type
19:50of waste,
19:52but also to improve the quality.
19:54According to recent analyses
19:56conducted by the CIC center,
19:58the average percentage of impurities
20:00at the entrance of the plants
20:02is 7.1% of the total,
20:04higher than the mandatory limits
20:06of 5% provided by the minimum environmental
20:08criteria of the Ministry of Environment
20:10and Energy Safety.
20:12An even more worrying quantity,
20:14if we consider that it causes
20:16a national average waste of matter
20:18is 21.9%,
20:20significantly reducing
20:22the amount of compost produced
20:24at the end of the process.
20:26Increasing the quality means
20:28putting in the wet what is wet,
20:30so we enter
20:32in the field
20:34of compostable packaging,

20:56they contribute to produce

21:02we want to collect more organic
21:04and produce more compost
21:06and also make energy
21:08in the form of biomethane or biogas.
21:10And on the other hand,
21:12to be able to develop
21:14applications in compostable
21:16plastic materials
21:18that are not the replacement
21:20of plastic.
21:22It is a specific space
21:24of development,
21:26of innovation of the world
21:28of plastic materials in applications
21:30connected with food
21:32or food waste.
21:34Digitization, quality of lubricants,
21:36research and environment.
21:38The CONOU, National Consortium for Collection
21:40and Treatment of Used Oils,
21:42is the most important fair
21:44of the Green and Circular Economy
21:46at the European level,
21:48in Rimini.
21:50At the center of the debate
21:52the Cyber Security,
21:54increasingly important
21:56also for the companies,
21:58members of the consortium.
22:00Our collection companies
22:02are small companies
22:04that also have a data heritage
22:06and that operate thanks
22:08to digital systems
22:10to expose a plan and rules
22:12and procedures to be able to
22:14defend themselves from risks.
22:16And then PFAS, highly polluting
22:18and carcinogenic indestructible molecules
22:20used everywhere that spread
22:22in the drinking waters of the whole world
22:24putting at risk also the circularity processes.
22:26We want to talk about it,
22:28in the sense that now
22:30this topic is not talked about enough
22:32in my opinion.
22:34The United States are very active
22:36on this front, they are doing
22:38a lot of interventions, for example
22:40of classification and transparency
22:42because the issue of PFAS
22:44is that we do not even know where they are.
22:46There are many common use products
22:48and we do not know where they are.
22:50So this is an aspect of transparency
22:52that must be taken care of.
22:54Europe is thinking of a ban
22:56for the use of PFAS,
22:58but there are some difficulties
23:00for some uses.
23:02In Italy we had a great trial
23:04in Vicenza that dates back
23:06to the year 2000
23:08and we had a lot of problems
23:10with the use of PFAS.
23:12So in my opinion it is an important issue
23:14because then it concerns
23:16the drinking water,
23:18so it does not concern a good
23:20that I rarely use.
23:22Drinking water is fundamental.
23:24Aluminum is the paradigm
23:26of the circular economy
23:28thanks to its properties
23:30that allow a 100% recycling.
23:32In the course of 2023
23:3474.1% of the total recycling
23:36will be recovered.

24:02We recycle what the municipalities
24:04and the citizens collect.
24:06After the selection of the material
24:08all the aluminum is collected
24:10in one of the recycling foundries
24:12on the territory.
24:14In total we have 11.
24:16With an average of 70%
24:18the recycling rate of aluminum packaging
24:20in Italy therefore exceeds
24:22the objectives of the European Union
24:24by 2025, 50%,
24:26and by 2030, 60%.

24:36for over 182,000 tons

24:40Aluminum can be considered
24:42the perfect paradigm of the circular economy
24:44first of all because it is a material
24:46that is completely recycled
24:48at 100%, nothing is thrown away
24:50and especially because it can
24:52undergo countless and infinite
24:54recycling cycles
24:56without losing its characteristics
24:58in the sense that you will never recognize
25:00if the aluminum,
25:02an object made of aluminum,
25:04is made of primary aluminum,
25:06or is made of secondary aluminum.
25:08All the aluminum produced in Italy
25:10comes from recycling.
25:12Thanks to its properties,
25:14when we talk about aluminum,
25:16we are not only talking about use and throw,
25:18but use and recycling.
25:20Just look at the data,
25:22even 75% of the aluminum
25:24ever produced in history
25:26is made of recycled materials
25:28that allow it to remain
25:30essentially the same
25:32despite countless and infinite uses.
25:34With 1.2 billion euros of investment,
25:36Italy can reduce dependence
25:38from abroad for raw materials
25:40of almost a third, generating
25:42over 6 billion euros of added value
25:44for the industry by 2040.
25:46This is one of the main evidences
25:48emerged from the Italian roadmap
25:50for raw materials written by IREN,
25:52a study of which results
25:54in the World of Rimini,
25:56the Fair of Circular Economy
25:58and Sustainability.
26:00Raw materials are a key element
26:02for national competitiveness,
26:04contributing to 690 billion euros
26:06of industrial production in the country
26:08equal to 32% of the Italian GDP.
26:10Therefore, it is essential
26:12to invest in plant capacity
26:14for recovery and treatment,
26:16since today 90% of the components
26:18of the raw materials from which
26:20raw materials are extracted
26:22IREN, in all this,
26:24candidates itself to be the main
26:26operator of reference
26:28for the recovery from the waste
26:30of these critical materials.
26:32We do it with the construction
26:34and the launch of the first
26:36critical materials recovery plant
26:38in Arezzo on December 11

26:44that recovers critical materials
26:46from electrical waste.
26:48In Italy, the plants accredited
26:50are not suitable for the management
26:52of the volumes produced.
26:54Only 47 plants out of 1,071
26:56are accredited, equal to 4.3%.
26:58IREN candidates itself

27:02of the sector.

27:40a green bond of 500 million euros

27:58to the regenerative economy

28:06and the issuance of a green bond

35:40by the use of recycling
35:42in roads.
35:44We are here to promote
35:46the 1,000 applications
35:48and the great performance
35:50of this material,
35:52of this important resource.
35:54Over the years,
35:56Ecopneus has achieved
35:58significant results.
36:00In 2023, a collection
36:02of 187,000 tons of unused tires
36:04allowed to avoid the emission
36:06of about 300,000 tons of CO2
36:08and a savings of 81 million euros
36:10which we have already planned
36:12to reach this year.
36:14And we have once again
36:16given the Ministry of the Environment
36:18the opportunity to carry out
36:20activities up to 10% more
36:22than our legal target
36:24because we want to make
36:26it possible
36:28to intervene in emergencies
36:30and critical situations
36:32on the territory.
36:34We can do more, we need coordination
36:36and collaboration.
36:38We work closely with our colleagues,
36:40our consortiums, stakeholders,
36:42associations and citizens
36:44because we believe that dialogue
36:46and collaboration are the key
36:48to make the system work
36:50in the context of the
36:52ecological transition of the country.
36:54Unfortunately, there are
36:56quantities of unused tires
36:58that escape
37:00the monitoring and control activities
37:02and so we are ready
37:04to intervene
37:06in this emergency situation
37:08with urgent interventions
37:10and an extraordinary planning
37:12of logistical activities
37:14giving this availability
37:16and this activity to the Ministry.
