00:00Welcome to the Accelerate Female Coach Development process.
00:04We believe, if you can see it, you can be it.
00:08Coaches have a key role to play in ensuring that female players
00:12get the greatest possible experience and opportunity to play,
00:17enjoy and excel at rugby in Wales.
00:21Coaches, and especially performance coaches,
00:24have a significant role to play in making this happen.
00:28In this short video, we explain how the WRU will attract
00:33and develop coaches to becoming recognised performance coaches.
00:39We have a simple and clear purpose for the WRU Coach Development Team.
00:46To produce confident, world-leading WRU recognised performance coaches
00:52who can deliver enduring and positive performances
00:56for their players, their teams and their fans, even under intense pressure.
01:03There are five key principles which underpin the process.
01:08We will attract more females to get involved in coaching rugby
01:12by providing them with support and a welcoming atmosphere
01:17and especially through the provision of Level 1 and Level 2 coaching programmes.
01:23Plus, attract players who want to continue their involvement in the game through coaching.
01:29We will create a female-only community of practice
01:33which is a safe place to discuss issues and challenges with supportive peers
01:39to find lived experience solutions to common problems for female coaches.
01:46We will carry out positive action to provide accelerated development
01:51for female coaches towards becoming a performance coach.
01:55The speed of which a coach develops is driven by their ambition
02:00and supported by the accelerated process.
02:04Finally, the accelerated female coach development process is aligned with
02:10and provides accelerated access to the WRU coach development process
02:16towards qualification and recognition as a WRU performance coach
02:22with more support and faster.
02:26The attract stage is open to everybody and requires no qualifications
02:32just a desire to get involved in coaching rugby.
02:36Coaches can access a range of support including access and support
02:41to take a WRU qualification programme, an introduction to performance coaching
02:48and a series of Google Classroom events
02:51which include bi-monthly development sessions online
02:55covering a wide range of topics
02:58especially designed for aspiring female performance coaches.
03:02Easy to access and at your convenience.
03:06The develop stage is for those coaches who want to progress their skills
03:11to become a performance coach and ultimately gain WRU recognition status.
03:18The key to access this additional support is the creation of a personal development plan
03:25but you won't be alone as this process is supported by a WRU coach developer.
03:32Once this is complete you can access a wide range of individual support
03:37and development opportunities including access to World Rugby and IOC programmes
03:45WRU level 3 and 4 courses, regional coach developer support
03:51classroom sessions covering skills for female coaches in high performance
03:57and an annual learning event.
04:00Deployment support including interview skills and personal branding
04:05invites to the WRU performance coach continuous personal development events
04:11and if you rise to work in the pathway or a national team
04:15you will also receive individual coach developer support.
