00:00Cinnamon and sugar just automatically make everything feel like the holidays.
00:03It makes me feel like a slutty little gingerbread man.
00:05Hey everyone, welcome back to Kiki Cuisine.
00:07I am a new mom and the holidays are here.
00:10So I'm making a Kiki cocktail today that has all the holiday flavors, but I like to keep
00:14it simple.
00:15You don't have to do too much because I'm busy, I'm a stay-at-home mom now.
00:18So what we're going to do is today we're going to make a cranberry sauce margarita.
00:22See that she's running fast.
00:23So we're going to be using whole cranberry sauce that you already have prepared.
00:25You have some tequila, some orange flavored liqueur, some lime juice, and some accoutrements
00:31to decorate with.
00:32And that's it.
00:33So we're going to shake that up and get the party started here for the holiday season.
00:36Are you ready for the holiday season?
00:37What are you going to ask Santa for?
00:38Are you going to be the holiday turkey?
00:39This is my holiday turkey.
00:40Can I put you in the oven?
00:41Yeah.
00:42Say happy holidays.
00:43Happy turkey day.
00:44Okay.
00:45You get down because I can't have children here while I'm cooking alcohol.
00:52So we're doing a margarita.
00:53It's a pretty simple cocktail.
00:54It's three, three, three, three.
00:55Oh, two.
00:56Well, that was my, that was me in college.
01:00It's two, two, and two.
01:01It's equal parts tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice.
01:05And that's really it.
01:06And then you can add whatever flavors you want into it, but that's the basis of any
01:09classic margarita.
01:10So we're going to get our shaker.
01:11Oh, wait.
01:12First we have to decorate our glasses first.
01:15So normally I put some salt on this, but this is a sweet cocktail and I want it to be very,
01:19you know, very fall, very holiday, very Thanksgiving, Christmas, or holiday.
01:23So I'm going to rim this with sugar and cinnamon.
01:26So I just mix some sugar and cinnamon.
01:27You want to get the coarser sugar if you have it.
01:30This is like, I don't know, pure cane sugar.
01:32But the coarser the sugar, the kickier the cocktail.
01:35So to do this, we're just going to get our glasses here.
01:38These are actually my mother's and father's from their wedding anniversary.
01:41For their wedding, when they registered for.
01:43So these are very old glasses.
01:44These are from the 20s.
01:45So you want to rim your glass like this.
01:48Wet it with some orange slice.
01:49We're just going to do half of the glass there.
01:53And that's going to be our glue.
01:54And then you just take it and you dip it into the kiki mixture.
02:01Cinnamon and sugar just automatically make everything feel like the holidays.
02:03It makes me feel like a slutty little gingerbread man.
02:06But this is going to give a nice holiday feel to the kiki cocktail.
02:10Okay.
02:11We're rimmed.
02:12Now, rimming in my culture means something quite different.
02:13Okay.
02:14So we have our glasses prepped.
02:15Get our ice shaker.
02:16You don't want to shake this.
02:17You always shake a margarita.
02:19Never stir because you want to create that foam.
02:21Okay.
02:22Ice in the shaker.
02:23We're going to take tequila.
02:24I'm using a Reposado tequila.
02:25You could use a Blanco tequila if you wanted to as well.
02:26But this just has a little bit of that kind of caramelly flavor to it because it's been
02:27aged in the oak barrels.
02:28I mean, I'm not a botanist, but if I was, or a tequila wizard, that's how you make it
02:29brown.
02:30You keep it in a wooden cask for years.
02:31One, two, three.
02:32I'm making two cocktails today.
02:33A little more.
02:34And then we're going to do equal parts.
02:35So we're going to take a tequila.
02:36We're going to take a tequila.
02:37We're going to take a tequila.
02:38We're going to take a tequila.
02:50You can do the jelly one, but this one's much better.
03:03This is whole cranberry sauce.
03:05So that is the chunky fruits in there.
03:08We're going to add this and whatever juices kind of come off it.
03:12I did a jam jar cocktail the other day.
03:16It's similar to that.
03:17So you're gonna get a little texture in the drink and you get some of that fresh fruit
03:20in there and you're gonna get all the sweetness.
03:22So we're gonna put this on and we're gonna shake it up and then we're gonna pour it over
03:27fresh ice.
03:28You want to do this until your hands get freezing cold, that's how you know it's done.
03:33What can I get you, hon?
03:35Wiggles, do you want a cocktail?
03:37Now I'm gonna put ice in my glasses.
03:42This takes too long.
03:44Alcohol kills everything, so just use your hands, girls.
03:48Now we're gonna strain, we don't want all those chunky things, we don't want to choke.
03:51Not during the holidays.
03:52The last thing you need is a relative suffocating on your dime.
03:56Fool me once, Aunt Gary.
04:00Hold on.
04:02This is why it's good to have a man around the house.
04:04Wiggles, can you open this?
04:06Oh, I got it.
04:08Okay, okay, let's strain this over.
04:10I'm looking for like a punchy blush color.
04:15And we got it.
04:16She's really foaming at the mouth, but that's what you want in a margarita.
04:19How pretty.
04:20And you get those little bits of that fresh cranberry going through it.
04:24Okay, spread them, girls.
04:26Now we're about to garnish.
04:27So right now this blush color is beautiful, it smells fragrant and yummy.
04:31I'm gonna garnish with an orange slice because it has orange on the corner, that's why.
04:35And a kiki cranberry skewer.
04:37I took some fresh cranberries, put them on a skewer, and just garnish like that.
04:41How pretty and festive.
04:43A little cranberry skewer.
04:44Now cranberries float.
04:45I used to work at a cranberry bog back in the day.
04:48And that's it.
04:49That is our kiki cranberry sauce margarita.
04:53So easy, so festive, so fresh.
04:55It looks stunning.
04:56And you know what, get a glass right for this.
04:59I think when you eat with your eyes, and you know holidays are all about decor and ambiance
05:03and excessiveness.
05:05So go extra.
05:06Get your crystal glasses out.
05:07Use them once a year.
05:08Alright, I'm gonna give this a taste and we're gonna see how this is gonna get us in the
05:11holiday spirit.
05:13Mmm.
05:15Holly jolly.
05:19There she is.
05:20It gets all the holiday flavors.
05:21The cranberry is very tart and kind of sweet.
05:24The orange liqueur really comes through.
05:25And then you even get that warmness from the reposado, that little vanilla carmelino.
05:31And a little cinnamon sugar, let's get some of that.
05:35Mmm.
05:37It's decadent.
05:38It tastes like a dessert.
05:39Very, very good.
05:40Perfect to kick off the holiday season.
05:42Make this for your friendsgiving.
05:43Make this for your holiday party.
05:45Make it for an afternoon alone.
05:47Draw a bath and lower your panties and see where the day takes you.
05:49Have a couple of these.
05:50You'll be seeing Santa's before you know it.
05:52Well, I hope you enjoy this cocktail.
05:53Make sure to make this and tag me in it.
05:55You're gonna like what you see, I guarantee it.
05:56Happy holiday, girl.
