00:00All right, let's get into the Purdy prognosis.
00:04We've had two nights to sleep on Brock's performance.
00:08Here's Purdy, takes off and goes head first for ten.
00:12Leading by six, Purdy protected, floats it for Kittle.
00:17Kittle with a catch and out across the 35.
00:20Play action, Purdy, use check.
00:23The catch, first and goal.
00:26Now it's time for Stonnie and Guru to break the huddle and deliver their Purdy prognosis.
00:33Yeah, he's losing money.
00:35Yeah, I agree with you there.
00:38We talked to Ross Tucker and he was saying, can you get him for 50?
00:42I'm more in the, can you get him for less than that now?
00:4535?
00:4635, 40?
00:48You think Brock Purdy would really turn down a three-year contract at like 35, 40, 45?
00:55I love this question.
00:56And again, I'm, you know, I'm acting like I know him, Stonnie.
01:00The good old boy, the guy next door.
01:02He's different, but it's about the chicken.
01:04But the fact that he would go from what he's currently making to that.
01:08I think you got the, I think there could be a chance.
01:12And then what if he's a cutthroat?
01:14Like we taking them to the cleaners, the Jeffersons.
01:17So forget what you saying, Guru.
01:19But when I think about his story, Stonnie,
01:22why am I robbing him of wanting to get as much as he possibly can?
01:27But if you do the Kaminga thing and ask for the whole house
01:31and all of a sudden I'm watching this game Sunday
01:35and I know we didn't play the week before in conditions in Green Bay,
01:38but Stonnie, I'm just thinking about do you really have a stud quarterback
01:42when in the elements before kickoff,
01:45you already know your guy's at a disadvantage because of mother nature?
01:49I don't know. How much is that worth?
01:51That's a good question.
01:52I don't know.
01:53I mean, the 49er fans acknowledge.
01:57Okay, there we go.
01:58Do they even acknowledge that Purdy's got a weather issue at times?
02:03Did you see the fumble?
02:04I mean, and it happens, right?
02:05I know.
02:06But Stonnie, that was like, and then he threw one Jimmy G ball
02:09over the middle that should have been picked off.
02:11It wasn't, but it's something I can't shake.
02:13But that fumble, let's just talk.
02:15That was because, you know, he's not comfortable in it, right?
02:19No harm, no foul.
02:20Like who would call and say that's a myth?
02:23And we should have brought it up.
02:25Ross Tucker talked about his turnovers in college.
02:28But I just, I know these were conditions.
02:30I'm just like, damn, he lost it.
02:32It happens.
02:33But, you know, is it like you said, Stonnie, is there something there?
02:37Well, as it relates to Brock Purdy,
02:42I would say this.
02:43Here's the one thing that if I were a 49er fan and it happened,
02:47I would fume.
02:48Oh.
02:49And that is if he holds out.
02:55If he holds out and it lingers, then they deserve everything they get.
03:02I mean, how many times do you have to see it play out
03:06of having a guy hold out and it hurt?
03:11Look, if you can get him for 35, get him for 35.
03:15If it takes 40, then pay 40.
03:17Hell, I'd rather pay him 60,
03:20even though he's not a $60 million quarterback,
03:23if he gets into camp on time.
03:26But the one thing that I know won't end well or won't start well,
03:30I should say, is if Brock Purdy is just the latest 49er.
03:35And, you know, listen, here's the other thing.
03:37Oh, Brock Purdy's a great guy.
03:39He's a nice guy.
03:41So is Steph Curry.
03:43Steph Curry never walked away from any money.
03:46And on the one hand, I think that Brock Purdy will be reasonable.
03:52On the other hand, I'm thinking he's just watched everybody get paid
04:00that just said, I want to get paid.
04:03And they paid them all.
04:04So if I'm Brock Purdy, I'm saying, yeah, now I want to get paid.
04:09But do you open your coaching staff and your team up?
04:12Do you open up Pandora's Box to where if they can get a Sam Darnold in here?
04:17Like, if I were to ask you right now, just no shade,
04:20who would you want right now quarterbacking your team, Purdy or Darnold?
04:24I would actually want Purdy.
04:26Okay, but I understand now that I wouldn't be mad at any answer.
04:30Like, I'm sure there's some that would say Darnold,
04:32and it wouldn't be a diss to Purdy.
04:34I don't believe.
04:36But like Brock Purdy can be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
04:39Right, but how much of, again, what's the number?
04:43And then what's his number that he has?
04:45What would another team pay him?
04:46I don't know.
04:47I bet you another team would pay him $35, $40.
04:49But I believe that would have been $60 last year had you got that Brock Purdy.
04:52Well, it's a good thing you didn't have to pay him last year.
04:54And it's like when you have a house, it doesn't matter what the house's value is right now.
05:00It does not matter.
05:02It matters what the value of the house is when you sell it.
05:05Or if you refinance.
05:06But the issue is, who cares what Brock Purdy might have been worth
05:11before he played a game this year?
05:13He wasn't up for a contract extension.
05:15But it's up to Kyle and that wandering eye.
05:18Like, this has gotten interesting.
05:21And again, Purdy's probably going to get it out of your right,
05:23and they lock him up.
05:25But what if there was to be another move to where Kyle could get what he deems something
05:30a little more experienced and better or talented?
05:33Oh, so that's on the table now.
05:35I believe that.
05:37I do believe.
05:38Oh, it's on the table.
05:40I could be wrong.
05:42I remember suggesting that.
05:43But you don't want cousins though, Stony.
05:45He's showing you.
05:475-1-0.
05:48Well, I don't.
05:49Okay, I'm not going there.
05:51He's had three bad games.
05:53And here's why I'm not going to say that.
05:55It's because how many of us said, not me,
05:59Oh, Brady's washed.
06:01Brady was washed.
06:03He threw a pick-six in his last throw.
06:05He's washed.
06:06And he won a Super Bowl.
06:08So I'm not going to say Kirk Cousins is washed or he's done.
06:11He had three bad games.
06:13Okay.
06:15So is he washed?
06:17You want to acquire a 36-year-old quarterback after taking the last two days
06:21to talk about how getting older is not the place the 49ers want to go?
06:25Did you hear me advocate for Kirk Cousins?
06:27No, but you were about to.
06:28No, I actually wasn't.
06:29Well, it's about Kyle.
06:31We know there's a connection.
06:32Do you think that's dead?
06:34I would say it's probably not dead.
06:36And it comes at a good time, right?
06:39Because they've got to make a decision on an unknown.
06:42If the Niners feel like they don't know what they want to pay Perdy,
06:44and especially if your scenario is the exact opposite.
06:48He wants to bring the house down.
06:49If you're asking me if I would bet money that Cousins would be the quarterback
06:53of the Niners next year, no.
06:55Yeah, well, I wouldn't.
06:56Yeah, I wouldn't either.
06:59But that's what I'm saying.
07:00Let's go to Danny in the city.
07:02What's going on, Danny?
07:03How you doing?
07:06Steady, man.
07:07Steady.
07:08Oh, steady.
07:09All right.
07:10One thing that you mentioned.
07:11One thing that you mentioned, Brock Perdy,
07:14that you think that he could be a starter.
07:17But what kind of starter?
07:18I really liked him at first, year and a half.
07:21He was on fire.
07:22But I think this year he's just showing us a lot of flaws and limitations.
07:26And going forward, what kind of starter is he going to be?
07:30Is he going to be a Daniel Jones, a Baker Mayfield,
07:35or can we get more of what he was?
07:38I just don't know what we can expect from him.
07:41So it just kind of makes it hard.
07:44One last thing.
07:46I was watching that game,
07:47and I was just waiting for the moment for the ball to slip out of his hands
07:51like it did.
07:52I knew it was coming.
07:53And when it happened, I wasn't surprised.
07:55Like I said, he's showing a lot of his flaws and limitations.
08:00And I don't know if he's going to be that blockbuster quarterback.
08:03I want him to bounce back and show that he's everything that we thought
08:08and that we saw from him.
08:09But he really hasn't adjusted to the challenges that he's seen this year.
08:15And one thing that I did see from him,
08:18even during that time when we had that run where we were doing real well with him,
08:23is that against elite defenses, against those really good defenses,
08:27he kind of struggled.
08:28He kind of struggled.
08:29He wasn't able to excel.
08:31Against some of these other B teams, maybe even B-plus teams,
08:36he looked good.
08:37But against those A defenses, he struggled.
08:40So it's too much of a question mark.
08:43I'm with you, Danny.
08:44Appreciate the call.
08:47Somebody misunderstood, which wouldn't be the first time.
08:50408, did Stiney compare Purdy with Steph?
08:53Is Stiney on that Thanksgiving-ish?
08:56Yes, I did make a comparison.
09:00And it was that they're both really nice guys,
09:03but that doesn't mean they're going to take a discount.
09:06We'll see.
09:07Well, one's at the top of his craft, and the other is a great story.
09:11Right.
09:12But what I'm saying is Steph never took a dime less than he earned.
09:16No doubt.
09:17And if Brock Purdy plays the same game, and you say,
09:19hey, what about $35 million?
09:21He may say, hit the bricks.
09:23$35 million.
09:25No.
09:26You see the market?
09:27$55.
09:28Man, I've taken you to a Super Bowl, NLC championship game.
09:31Well, he's a quarterback on those teams.
09:33Nobody let Jimmy Garoppolo say he took the 49ers to the Super Bowl.
