00:00Hello there. It certainly has been a very cold start to the weekend. In fact we've reported
00:06our coldest morning in four years with close to minus 19 degrees Celsius reported in the
00:12north of Scotland. It's been a very frosty start to the day across England and Wales
00:17as well but actually for Northern Ireland the coldest temperature this morning was a
00:21very balmy 1.1 degrees Celsius at Armagh. Here we're starting to see milder air push
00:28its way in from the west in association with an occluded front. It is making very slow
00:33progress so the cold air is going to remain across many other areas underneath this area
00:37of high pressure. This occluded front in the west is starting to bring more in the way
00:41of cloud for south-west England and Wales into north-west as well. We will see some
00:46patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle and it might also produce some hill snow in places.
00:50Further towards the east a much sunnier day here but some of us could see freezing fog
00:54patches lingering throughout the day and if you do see that fog persist temperatures
00:59will struggle to climb much above freezing. The fog will also reform and become quite
01:04dense in places this evening and overnight particularly through the Vale of York down
01:08towards East Anglia but also Northern Ireland has the potential to see some quite widespread
01:12fog overnight. The cloud in the middle will produce some patchy drizzle in places that
01:17could lead to some frosty and icy conditions particularly where that's falling on frozen
01:23surfaces. In the east it is going to be another very cold night, a widespread frost developing
01:28not as cold as the one we've just seen but certainly still sub-freezing for many. A contrast
01:33though in the west once again that milder air that's slowly moving its way in will help
01:37to keep temperatures on the positive side of the temperature scale first thing on Sunday.
01:42If you are stepping out in the morning it is again worth remembering that those fog
01:46patches will be in place so some tricky travelling conditions are possible around. The fog patches
01:52will slowly lift throughout the day, quickest in the north west where we start to see the
01:56winds pick up particularly into the afternoon and the evening we could start to see some
02:00gales across the Outer Hebrides as some outbreaks of rain arrive here. Generally a calmer day
02:04for England and Wales, some sunshine around at times once that fog does eventually clear
02:08its way off. The temperatures in the south and east are still struggling 3-4 degrees
02:14Celsius as your top temperatures here but that milder air in the north west allowing
02:19for 8 degrees Celsius. This milder air will continue to push its way in as we head into
02:25the new working week and very slowly push its way further towards the south, east and
02:30well. So as we do head towards Monday and particularly into the middle part of the week
02:34temperatures will be rebounding closer towards average for the time of year. We will be losing
02:39many of those frosty nights but particularly in the north temperatures are going to be
02:43well above average for the time of year with double digit figures across Scotland and Northern
02:48Ireland. We'll have plenty more updates on what you can expect for the new week of course
02:52so do stay up to date on the YouTube channel and across our social media sites. We'll see
02:56you again here very soon, bye bye.
