00:00Hi, I'm digital reporter Amy Seddon and welcome to another edition of Five Things to Do Next
00:06Week across central Lancashire and the Fylde Coast.
00:09First up, in Preston, Laughter at the Lounge Comedy Club is on at the Guild Hall on Friday
00:16February 7th. Performing on the night will be the comedians Charlie Baker, who has appeared
00:21in countless TV shows, Rob Mulholland, the reigning Leicester Mercury English Comedian
00:26of the Year, and Elaine Robertson, who won the Edinburgh Fringe Awards Panel Prize 2024
00:30and was a finalist of the Channel 4's Sean Rock Comedy Award 2024.
00:37Hosting will then be the Northern Irish comic and BBC Comedy Award finalist Matthew McAloon.
00:42Laughter at the Lounge starts at 8pm, has an age guidance of 18+, and tickets are £20
00:49each.
00:50In Chorley, the comedian and statistician Andy Zaltzman brings his latest tour, The
00:55Zaltgeist, to Chorley Theatre on Friday February 7th.
01:00In the biggest stand-up tour of his career, Andy Zaltzman, one of the UK's leading satirical
01:05comedians, assesses the state of planet Earth and its most famous and controversial species,
01:11the human race.
01:12Unfortunately for those without tickets, the show has now sold out, but for those who do
01:17have tickets, the event starts at 8pm.
01:20Over on the Fylde Coast, the annual Christmas Tree Planting event returns between Wednesday
01:26February 5th and Friday February 7th.
01:30Organised by the Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside, the three-day
01:35event sees people donate their old Christmas trees, which are then strategically placed
01:39in front of the Fylde's existing sand dunes.
01:43As the wind blows, the branches of the trees trap sand, gradually creating new dunes which
01:48then helps increase the width of the Fylde's sand dune system.
01:53In Blackpool, the iconic pop-punk band Bowling for Soup are bringing their new tour to the
01:58Winter Gardens Empress Ballroom on Wednesday February 5th.
02:03The tour celebrates both 30 years of the band and 20 years of one of their most successful
02:07albums, A Hangover You Don't Deserve.
02:11So the tour is aptly named A Hangover You Don't Deserve 20th Anniversary Tour.
02:16More so than that however, another iconic pop-punk band, Teenage Dirtbags' Wheatus will
02:22also be the back-up act, alongside an upcoming pop-punk band called Magnolia Park.
02:28Tickets are still available and cost £40.25.
02:33In Lifford, the adult pantomime Sleeping with Beauty is on at the Loughborough Pavilion
02:38on Saturday February 8th.
02:40With two shows on the one night only, audiences can expect a funny, filthy and wickedly fabulous
02:46pantomime that's anything but a fairy tale.
02:50This adult twist on Sleeping Beauty follows Princess Rose and friends as they compete
02:54to bear to the prince and fight against the devilishly horny Maleficent.
02:59The event is strictly adults only and costs £28 or £32 depending on your seats.
03:06So there are five top things to do next week, but whatever you're up to, have a good one.
