00:00Hi, I'm digital reporter Amy Seddon, and welcome to another edition of Five Things
00:05to Do Next Week.
00:08First up, in central Lancashire, catch the final few days of the Lancashire Fringe Festival
00:13taking place in Preston.
00:15Having kicked off on September 25th, the final day of the event, which is Preston's biggest
00:20performance festival of the year, is Wednesday, October 9th.
00:24On Monday evening, you can enjoy a double bill of plays at the Ferret, and on Tuesday
00:28there is a spoken word and open mic night again at the Ferret.
00:32On the final night, watch Louise Oran's fame-hungry performance at the Media Factory U-Clan.
00:38All the events are free, and there is no need to book, just turn up.
00:43Over on the Fylde Coast, the iconic singer and television presenter, Jay MacDonald, is
00:49performing at the Winter Gardens Opera House on Friday, October 11th, and Saturday, October
00:5412th.
00:55Her new tour, called With All My Love, will see Jane perform well-loved songs and new
01:00material penned by Jane herself.
01:03Filled with love, glamour and Jane's warm Yorkshire wit, With All My Love is your opportunity
01:09to spend an evening with a national treasure.
01:11I'm afraid the event is now sold out, although there is one ticket left for Saturday, if
01:16you don't mind going alone.
01:19Up in Lancaster, the 14th edition of one of the UK's largest urban music festivals returns
01:24between Thursday, October 10th and Sunday, October 13th.
01:29During the Lancaster Music Festival, thousands of festival-goers will descend on the historic
01:34city for a long weekend of music and merriment.
01:37There will be music throughout the city in over 50 venues, with over 400 performances
01:42for more than 300 artists, and there will also be street theatre and workshops.
01:48Most of the events are free, but check the Lancaster Music Festival's website to see
01:52which ones do require tickets.
01:55Over in East Lancashire, an Oktoberfest event is being held at the Wellbeing Farm in Edgeworth,
02:01Blackburn with Darwin, on Friday, October 11th.
02:05Organisers are promising to bring the heart and soul of Germany straight to the UK for
02:09one unforgettable night.
02:11Running between 7.30pm and 1am, attendees can enjoy beer, bratwurst, a live oompa band
02:18and drink deals all night.
02:20Tickets cost ┬г25 and that includes a welcoming beer or cocktail on arrival and a bratwurst
02:26with toppings.
02:29Finally, just outside of Lancashire, a charity fun day for Wigan and Leigh Hospice is being
02:34held at Chapo's at the Caledonian in Wigan on Sunday, October 13th.
02:40The first of what the pub hopes to be an annual Wigan Hospice charity day is on from 1.30pm
02:46to close and features a full line-up of live music.
02:49There will also be food stalls, games and raffle prizes with all proceeds going towards
02:55the hospice.
02:56Entry is ┬г1 on the door and the organisers are also asking any small businesses who would
03:01be kind enough to donate a raffle prize to get in touch.
03:06So there are five top things to do next week, but whatever you're up to, have a good one.
