00:08First up, in central Lancashire. The Paris Olympics may be in full swing, but Preston

00:14will host its very own Wonky Olympics on Wednesday, August 8th. Taking place at Preston Guild

00:20Hall on Lancaster Road, the event sees two Greek Olympians run a silly and wonky version

00:26of the Olympic Games. Attendees can expect to take part in competitions such as Sock

00:33Shot Put, 100 Yard Yell, Mime Assault Course, Space Hop About and many more. The event is

00:41on between 1.30pm and 4.15pm, and the recommended age is 5-11. Tickets cost £3 and are available

00:51online now.

00:52Over on the Fylde Coast, the Blackpool Airshow returns between Saturday, August 10th and

00:59Sunday, August 11th, with some of the world's finest military and civilian aircraft performing

01:05over the iconic seafront. The two-day programme will showcase the very best in British aviation,

01:12with a whole host of amazing flying machines and some of the country's most talented pilots.

01:19Alongside the airshow line-up, there will also be an airshow village on the Tower Festival

01:24headland, offering plenty to see and do with a range of stalls, attractions and food concessions.

01:32Up in Lancaster, a superhero summer school is taking place at Marketgate Shopping Centre

01:39on Saturday, August 10th. Running between 11am and 4pm, the action-packed summer school

01:46teaches attendees how to be what we all want strength of being, a superhero. The event,

01:52which is free, includes a mask-making workshop and you get to meet a real-life superhero.

01:59The event is free, just turn up!

02:02Over in East Lancashire, the annual Cliveroe Food Festival is on Saturday, August 10th.

02:09Organised and promoted by Ribble Valley Borough Council, the festival is free to enter and

02:15attracts around 20,000 each year. The focus of the festival is on the finest food and drink

02:21producers in Ribble Valley and Lancashire, but it does also offer food and drink from

02:26different parts of England. The festival takes over the town centre with the biggest street

02:31buffet of food and drink you've ever sampled, with tastes, smells and sounds to entice all the senses.

02:38Finally, just outside of Lancashire, Wigan Pride takes place on Saturday, August 10th.

02:45The 9th annual Wigan Pride is a day to celebrate equality, diversity and difference across the

02:52Wigan Borough. Taking place across Wigan Town Centre, this family-friendly day will include

02:58the famous parade, stalls and a range of entertainment on the Believe Stage, Believe Square

03:04and Unity Stage, as well as the Market Square. Entry is of course free, just turn up! Preferably

03:12as colourful as you can be. So there are our five top things to do next week,

03:17but whatever you're up to, have a good one!
