00:00I'm coming into this as a runner up for my season winning all-stars would give me a
00:13validation that we might not have gotten it right the first time so I'm back to
00:21give them the old razzle-bedazzle my season I'd won the most challenges the
00:28whole point of me being here is really to win the whole thing I've been in theater
00:32for 25 years I'm Tony nominated but I think fashion poses a challenge that's
00:36where I want to put my energy I'm definitely in a different place than I
00:41was the first time I was on Project Runway where I was right out of college I wasn't
00:44really sure of the designer I was but now I'm coming back and I know who I am I
00:48definitely have the talent to win this not making it to the end of season 9 it
00:55was a big disappointment and I know that I should have made it further but
00:58just go ahead and try and underestimate me that's just going to be bad for you
01:04everyone who makes it project runway all-stars is the creme de la creme I'm
01:08going to win project runway all-stars because Wade is ready to rock the
01:12freaking frog I totally got robbed in my last season I think that if I would have
01:19been in the final four I would have kicked smack the last time I was on
01:23project runway I was the bitch on season 8 you talk about people and you
01:28sabotage people right now you have it pinned on the wrong side you said you
01:31could do that but it didn't work out this time it's really important for me to
01:34stay focused I definitely think I could win this
01:39Ivy we didn't exactly become friends at all on the show but now I love her I cannot
01:46believe that Casanova did not tell me that he was going to be on the show just
01:50because he's a very good friend of mine I'm actually works with me as my
01:53assistant I get a big surprise I was not expecting to be in a competition with my
01:57boss
02:01being runner-up in my season it did feel a little bit like a slap in the face I
02:06have unfinished business to show that I can make it to the end people that say
02:12that I am just a pageant wear designer I can do swimsuits I can do jewelry I can
02:17do so many different things if you only know the King Gillespie from season 3
02:21you've got a lot to learn I do feel like this is a second chance it's like
02:26getting an opportunity to to hopefully do everything right this time
02:33it's really nice to put it right there

05:56This price can change everything.
05:58Your first challenge starts right now.
06:01You'll be mentored by the editor-in-chief
06:04of Marie Claire magazine, Joanna Coles.
06:06Joanna's waiting in a special location to reveal more.
06:10Good luck.
06:10Thank you, thanks.
06:12Bye.
06:21Welcome, designers.
06:23You are all used to taking the lead.
06:25So we want to see if you can work together.
06:30No.
06:31Are you freaking kidding me?
06:32A team challenge to start?
06:34Prepare for clash.
06:36I'm going to pull two names from this bag,
06:39and those two people will pick
06:42the first member of their team, and so on.
06:45The first designer is Kane.
06:50The next one is Joshua.
06:53I didn't always work well in groups.
06:56I'm not having drama with you.
06:57If you're tired, take a nap.
06:59Play nice, Josh.
07:01Quick reminder, you are not team captains.
07:04You're simply picking first.
07:06Kane?
07:06I'm going to have to pick Uli.
07:09Josh, I'd like to start with Peach.
07:14I didn't want to go for the obvious
07:15and choose someone from my season.
07:17I'm really here to step out of my box,
07:20meet new people, and see what they're capable of.
07:22Uli.
07:23My dear husband, Casanova.
07:26Laura.
07:28Yeah.
07:28Ivy.
07:30Amelia.
07:31Oh.
07:31Althea.
07:33This really reminds me.
07:34Andre, pay attention.
07:35You.
07:36Over here.
07:37Anthony Ryan.
07:38Good.
07:40Okay, swag.
07:41Yay!
07:43So you've got Wendy.
07:45That's pretty hard to be left standing alone at the end
07:48and you realize, like, I didn't appear to be somebody,
07:51anybody wanted on their team.
07:53We have one team of six, one team of seven,
07:56and you're going to be working together
07:57to create a mini collection.
07:59The theme of your collection is attitude.
08:03Each team will be given a list of attitudes,
08:06or you can choose your own.
08:08Each designer will be responsible for one item,
08:12but your entire collection must be cohesive.
08:16The budget is $250 per designer.
08:21The winning design will come from the winning team,
08:26and the design, which will send one of you home,
08:30will come from the losing team.
08:33Work hard and good luck.
08:36Thanks.
08:37Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:38Okay, so listen.
08:40Oh, here's our selection.
08:42Maybe they've given us options.
08:47I like this.
08:48I like this.
08:49I like the back of it, too,
08:50but you have to be confident as a designer.
08:52So let's go with confident.
08:53I don't know enough about these people
08:54to let any of them take the lead.
08:56I don't trust them enough yet.
08:57Althea's a bit of a loud mouth.
08:59It's a little aggressive.
09:00Perfect.
09:00I love it.
09:02Oh, my God, fierce.
09:03Kill that.
09:04These three are my favorite.
09:06No, no, no, no.
09:06Leave us alone.
09:07I mean, we have Andre,
09:08and then we have Laura Kathleen,
09:09and it's like, you know,
09:11two little chihuahuas,
09:12like, barking back and forth at each other.
09:14Let's pick a word.
09:14Pick a word.
09:15No, no, we're going to pick a word.
09:17Find one word.
09:18It seems like nobody can get their together.
09:20We need to make a decision and go with it.
09:26Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars.
09:29Coming to the competition,
09:30it's just a lot.
09:31The word that comes to mind is hooker.
09:33It shows your confidence.
09:34It's gone.
09:35I might be in trouble.
09:39Let's just take a vote.
09:41For this challenge,
09:41we're creating a mini collection
09:42based on an attitude.
09:44What's the word?
09:45We have to pick one word
09:47to describe the entire collection.
09:49Pick a word.
09:50No, no, no.
09:50We're going to pick a word.
09:51Find one word.
09:53Bold.
09:54Bold.
09:54Bold.
09:55I like bold.
09:56I go bold.
09:57Bold.
09:57Bold to the bold.
09:59Bold to the bold.
09:59But if I took it a little twisted
10:02and did like a lace,
10:04like high neck long sleeve.
10:06Yeah.
10:06Can somebody are interested
10:08in add leather?
10:09My team decides
10:10that we want to use lace and leather.
10:12And everyone jumps for the dress.
10:14So I am making separates.
10:17Coming back,
10:18also, I really wanted to represent
10:19the everyday person.
10:20I want to bring them high fashion,
10:23but anyone can buy it.
10:24We all will have to be using
10:26a cohesive color palette.
10:28What Suede's going to do
10:29is he's going to do
10:30a very sculptural dress.
10:31My aesthetic is rock and roll
10:33and street style,
10:34but still modern and very classy.
10:36You will never see me
10:37making the three sleeve blouse.
10:39Okay, guys, ready?
10:40Yes.
10:41Ready?
10:41Let's go.
10:43Bold.
10:43Come on.
10:44Bold.
10:44Bold.
10:45No hooch.
10:46We all have kind of split up,
10:56like someone's going to get the leather,
10:57someone's going to get the lace.
11:02I think people just know me
11:04for flowy printed dresses,
11:06but I am also creating stuff now
11:08you can wear in a city.
11:09If you live in New York
11:10or in Chicago,
11:10you can actually wear
11:12the new Uli stuff.
11:13Are we thinking
11:14these are the pop moments?
11:15The only thing that our team
11:16can agree upon
11:17is using the color blue.
11:19We need it to make a choice
11:20because we're losing time.
11:22Hey, everybody.
11:23Five minutes.
11:32Okay, we're going to the side.
11:34Thank you, Mood.
11:35Thank you, Mood.
11:42Wow.
11:44Wow.
11:45Look at this wall.
11:46We've got the Nine West wall.
11:48It's all lit up.
11:49It's awesome.
11:50Oh, and a nice little lamp.
11:51Wow.
11:52I am definitely grateful
11:53to be working on these
11:54Brother machines.
11:55Working from my home,
11:56I'm working on a Pinto,
11:58and you go into these
11:59Project Runway All-Star workstations,
12:01and you're driving a Lamborghini.
12:02Let's try to really time manage
12:03so we're done.
12:04Like, we have,
12:05we're in a good place,
12:06like an hour or two left of the day.
12:08For me,
12:08Althea has a little pet name already,
12:10and it's Miss Bossy Pants.
12:13Is everybody cool
12:14with what they're doing?
12:15Everybody's okay?
12:15I'm going to do this top
12:17out of the stretch black.
12:19Well, be careful.
12:20Be careful about what?
12:21We are bold,
12:22so we might need to be very...
12:24Andre is questioning
12:26whether this garment
12:27is going to be bold enough,
12:28and right away,
12:30you know,
12:30goes your confidence.
12:32It's gone.
12:32Peach,
12:33her design is more
12:34of an athletic junior level,
12:37and I think the woman
12:38that we're encompassing right now
12:39is a bit higher end.
12:41What is your identity?
12:42A V?
12:42Yes.
12:52Making a gown of this caliber
12:54typically takes me about 40 hours.
12:56I have to focus,
12:56and there's no time
12:57for playing around.
12:58Good afternoon, designers.
13:03I'm so excited
13:04to be back in this workroom.
13:06Let me start with bold.
13:08Hey, Joanne.
13:08Hello.
13:09What I decided to do
13:10is give an articulated shoulder
13:11as well as hips.
13:13Suede's garment
13:13looks a little bit
13:14like a design school project.
13:17I'm a bit concerned
13:18you're all playing it safe.
13:20Oh, jeez.
13:21Talk to me about the top.
13:22This would be bold,
13:23but it would be scary.
13:25I am a tenniswear designer.
13:26I do things
13:27that can take you
13:28from tennis today.
13:29My mind is boggling
13:30at the idea of tennis today.
13:31It works.
13:32Peach, make another
13:33tennis player look?
13:35What the hell?
13:36I couldn't morph
13:37tenniswear into this challenge
13:39without sticking out
13:40like a sore thumb,
13:41and you don't do that
13:41in a team challenge.
13:42You're sounding to me
13:44like you feel
13:45out of your depth.
13:47Like a version
13:49of a tuxedo pant.
13:50Is it bold in a good way?
13:51You can only have
13:53the winning design
13:54if your team
13:55has the winning collection.
13:57So how can you
13:58make sure
13:59that you are
14:00with the winning team?
14:03Anthony Ryan.
14:05Hey, Miss Joanna.
14:06I'm actually going
14:06to do a cream leather bow tie.
14:09Cream leather bow tie?
14:10Yeah.
14:11Right.
14:11I'm worried that
14:12the bow tie might be junior.
14:14I want to make sure
14:15that you're confident
14:17without being immature.
14:20Okay.
14:20She really recommends
14:22that I edit the bow tie.
14:24I'm listening to her.
14:25Hi, Joanna.
14:26I'm a little terrified
14:27to meet you
14:28because I remember you
14:29being such a bitch
14:30on your season.
14:31I was.
14:32I don't blame you.
14:33You're a total ass.
14:35I was going through
14:35a lot personally.
14:37So I think just coming
14:38to the competition,
14:39like on top of
14:39what I was going through
14:40in my personal life
14:41and this,
14:42it was just a lot.
14:42two years ago,
14:44I was so lost.
14:46I literally put my entire
14:47life savings
14:48in trying to start my business.
14:50I couldn't pay my bills.
14:51I had volunteered
14:52at a soup kitchen
14:52because I couldn't afford groceries.
14:54Sometimes when you're dealing
14:55with an insurmountable amount
14:57of stress,
14:57you're not in your right character.
15:01It seems clear
15:02that you want to this time
15:03put your energies
15:04into your design.
15:07I felt for you
15:08earlier today
15:09when you were
15:09the last person
15:10to be picked.
15:11It reminded me
15:12of school sports.
15:13Frankly,
15:14when something like that
15:14happens to me,
15:15it just empowers me
15:17to try harder.
15:17Like,
15:18I have to spike.
15:18I'm thinking
15:19stegosaurus.
15:21There's an element
15:21of sort of
15:22catwoman meets
15:22lady gaga.
15:24Cane's garment.
15:25Curio cabinet.
15:26I am seeing more
15:28lace.
15:29And leather.
15:31When I think of lace
15:32and black leather,
15:34the word that comes
15:35to mind is hooker.
15:36How are you going
15:38to make sure
15:38this is confident
15:41without being...
15:43Slotty?
15:44Yes.
15:45If you have
15:45the winning collection,
15:47is this the winning
15:48outfit?
15:49I would think so.
15:50Well, let's see.
15:51Designers,
15:52I want you to know
15:52I think there is
15:53some extreme talent
15:55in this room.
15:56Good luck.
16:02I am having
16:03a really hard time
16:04figuring out
16:05who my woman is.
16:06I might be in trouble.
16:13The lead.
16:13Oh, my God,
16:15you're going there.
16:18I may have to get up
16:25on a stool.
16:31I have great faith in you.
16:33Thank you so much.
16:34Thank you so much.
16:39Being one of four
16:40runner-ups,
16:41along with Afiya,
16:42Uli,
16:43and Emilio,
16:44I think we're all out
16:45to get what we've
16:46deserved.
16:47I'm not here
16:47just to be safe.
16:49I'm here to win.
16:50All right, designers,
16:52let's go.
17:00We find out
17:01that we're going
17:01to be staying
17:02at Night Hotel
17:03in the penthouse.
17:05It's only appropriate
17:07to give a toast
17:08to those that have
17:09come before you,
17:10especially Wendy Pepper.
17:12When I first saw you,
17:13I was like,
17:13oh my God,
17:14Wendy Pepper!
17:15She came out
17:15of Pride and the Storm.
17:17I was freaking.
17:18I just remember
17:19watching season one
17:21with my mom
17:22and seeing Wendy Pepper.
17:24I think we should
17:25all give Wendy a hand.
17:26Yeah!
17:27Cheers!
17:27I must say,
17:30I was totally taken aback.
17:32Given that I have
17:33come here
17:33to completely mow
17:34all these people down,
17:35that was really
17:35very moving.
17:36Bravo to you guys.
17:37Cheers!
17:38From one bitch
17:40to the other,
17:42Wendy Pepper.
17:45Coming up
17:46on Project Runway
17:47All Stars.
17:48You know,
17:48time's running out,
17:49okay?
17:49Sweet.
17:50Oh, God.
17:50A napkin, anybody?
17:51Canes, look.
17:53Ugh.
18:03Hey, guys.
18:04It's not a while.
18:05Let's meet
18:05to talk where we're at.
18:07How are we for time?
18:08Does anyone need help?
18:09Like, is anyone
18:09in a really bad place
18:10or does everyone
18:10feel like they can
18:11kind of manage
18:12where they're at?
18:12I just have to try
18:13and lead on.
18:14Everybody did a great job.
18:16Does anybody need help?
18:18Um, as long as this
18:19goes well,
18:20I should be fine.
18:21I'm good.
18:21I think I'm good.
18:22Good?
18:22We're good?
18:23We're good?
18:23We're good?
18:23We're good.
18:24Woo!
18:25I feel like our group
18:26looks very cohesive.
18:29We've chosen a very strong,
18:32very simple color story.
18:33It looks like a collection.
18:35I think our collection
18:38looks stunning.
18:39There's no way
18:40we're going to be
18:41the losing team.
18:42No way.
18:43So at this point
18:44in the competition,
18:44everyone's a great designer,
18:46so it's only going to get harder.
18:47But I think it's the quiet ones
18:49you've got to watch out for.
18:50You've got Emilio
18:51who does his thing
18:52over in the corner.
18:53I keep my eyes over there.
18:55Ula's quiet.
18:56She's very sweet.
18:58Sometimes the sweet ones
18:59may get you.
19:00You just never know.
19:01A lot of the hair.
19:05Hola.
19:07I just want to throw it
19:08over you
19:08just to see real quick.
19:09Raise your arms
19:10up over your head
19:11a little bit.
19:13Check those.
19:14Arms are out.
19:15Arms are out.
19:16Let's go to the
19:17Laura Mercier
19:18makeup room.
19:20A really clean,
19:21fresh,
19:21young face.
19:22A little bit of gloss
19:23on the lip.
19:24Strong liner.
19:25A clean eye.
19:26Bold lips.
19:27How about a rich,
19:28rich, dark red?
19:29Put a blue on the base.
19:30Yes, the blue of the
19:31bold.
19:32All righty.
19:34I think we're going to
19:35add a little bit more
19:35laying there for a really
19:37beautiful, soft, sexy
19:38hair.
19:38That'd be really great.
19:39Can you do that?
19:40Leave this down?
19:40And then if I hate it,
19:41we can throw it up real quick.
19:42Yes, we can do that.
19:43Okay, okay.
19:44I'll see you later.
19:44Thank you, sugar love.
19:51Hey, everybody.
19:5215 minutes.
19:53If you can take a look
19:54and see if there's
19:55hanging threads
19:56on my model's outfits.
19:58Okay.
19:59Andra's just not good
20:00at time management.
20:02You know what would
20:02be really great
20:03is if you could check
20:03on my girl and hair
20:04and makeup.
20:05Okay.
20:05And if she's done
20:06with hair,
20:07could you send her
20:08to makeup?
20:08As soon as I'm done
20:09with everything,
20:10I'm going to help you.
20:10I just have to have
20:11my scarf.
20:12I'll step in
20:13and fix when my
20:14done.
20:21Take it along
20:21the dark.
20:22Along my dark.
20:23Got it.
20:23You know time's
20:24running out, okay?
20:25Yes.
20:25Okay, okay.
20:27So anything I can do
20:28to help you, okay?
20:29Perfect.
20:29Can you get me a size
20:30nine of the patent
20:31leather pumps?
20:31Yep, no problem.
20:32I'm on it.
20:33You rock my socks.
20:35I am sewing on my garment
20:36until the last second
20:38is called in time,
20:39but it looks amazing.
20:43Canes look...
20:45Looked like a...
20:48for a drag show.
20:50I'm going to color
20:50all those silver crystals
20:51black.
20:52It's terrible.
20:53Terrible.
20:55Suede, oh God.
20:56Nepkin, anybody?
20:58Anyone?
21:05Take the pennies out.
21:07The first challenge,
21:08being a team challenge,
21:08you're being judged
21:09as a group
21:10and you're only as good
21:11as your weakest link.
21:12That's wrong.
21:13And that makes me
21:14really nervous.
21:15All right, guys.
21:16You and your attitudes.
21:17Bring them.
21:17Let's go.
21:19Woo!
21:24Coming up on
21:25Project Runway All-Stars.
21:26The more you talk,
21:27the more I dislike it.
21:28If we start asking you
21:29to explain your design,
21:31there's a problem.
21:31I just don't get it.
21:32Am I missing something?
21:37Wow.
21:38It's late.
21:40Beautiful.
21:40Well, hello, designers.
21:44Hi.
21:46For your first challenge,
21:48you were split into two teams
21:50to create two mini collections.
21:52The winning look will come
21:54from the most successful collection
21:56and the losing look
21:57from the least successful.
21:59So let's meet the judges.
22:01First, we have the designer
22:03and co-founder of Marquesa,
22:05the beautiful Georgina Chapman.
22:07Hi, designers.
22:08One of the most famous names
22:13in fashion,
22:14designer Isaac Mizrahi.
22:17How are you today?
22:20Our first guest judge this week
22:22is a designer who's dressed
22:24everyone from Cameron Diaz
22:25to Halle Berry.
22:27But one of her most frequent clients
22:29is the first lady, Michelle Obama.
22:31Please welcome the lovely Rachel Roy.
22:33Hi, guys.
22:35And we have a surprise guest judge.
22:41He knows exactly
22:42what you're going through right now.
22:44Please welcome back
22:45our first Project Runway
22:47All-Stars winner, Mondo.
22:49Hi, guys.
22:50Welcome back.
22:52I don't know if I'm more nervous
22:53or used to be.
22:55Okay, I'm going to be
22:56joining the judges now.
22:58We'll be looking at
22:58how well you embraced your theme
23:00and how well your own unique style
23:03fits into the collection.
23:05So, have a great show.
23:11I think my dress looks great.
23:14It's fitted amazingly.
23:16I feel good.
23:17I don't have anything to worry about.
23:19So, I see my model
23:28go down the runway
23:29in my garment.
23:30It wasn't like my best shot,
23:32but I think I did
23:33what I could
23:34in the situation I was in.
23:36I am quite relieved.
23:43It looks complete
23:44because I had to
23:46discard all kinds of standards
23:48for this thing
23:50to be able to get up and walk.
23:59I love my design.
24:01I love the structure of it
24:03and the flow.
24:04Suede's model on the runway
24:05is smoldering.
24:13She looks elegant.
24:15She looks like a bold woman
24:16and I'm hoping that
24:17the panels on the side
24:18of the skirt
24:19are transparent enough
24:20for them to appreciate
24:21the architecture in it.
24:24Oh, that's pretty nice.
24:32She looks super tough.
24:33She's got great gloves
24:36and accessories
24:36from Nine West on.
24:38She looks exactly
24:40as I envisioned her to look.
24:51I absolutely love the look.
24:53She looks stunning
24:54and it's very true
24:56to my design aesthetic.
24:57Minimalist, romantic, ethereal,
24:58and I think she looks beautiful.
25:08She looks great.
25:10She looks sophisticated
25:10but still sexy.
25:12I mean, I think she embodies
25:13the woman that I designed for.
25:15I'm 100% satisfied
25:16with how she looks.
25:17My model on the runway looks
25:27sleek, flawless, perfect.
25:31So I'm pretty happy.
25:32She stands out
25:41from the rest of the collection.
25:42She's fresh,
25:43she's modern,
25:44she seems very edgy
25:46and then all of a sudden
25:47the judges get to see the back.
25:49You know,
25:49and it's that little bit
25:50of surprise and unexpected
25:51that I like to bring to them.
25:53This is perfect.
26:01I love that.
26:02I love my dress so much.
26:04I love the collection
26:06it's part of.
26:07I am just so excited
26:08to be back.
26:09It's the best feeling
26:10in the world.
26:19I am on cloud nine.
26:20I think my dress
26:22looks super fierce.
26:24I feel like I've definitely
26:24done my job here.
26:34My dress looks amazing.
26:36I wouldn't change a thing.
26:38I think you see
26:38the new Uli
26:39and it's beautiful.
26:50I think my dress looks amazing.
26:54Designers.
26:56The winning collection
26:58is
26:59Team Confident.
27:06Thank goodness.
27:08Congratulations.
27:10Thank you so much.
27:11Designers.
27:12If I call your name
27:13I would like you
27:13to please step forward.
27:16Anthony Ryan.
27:18Ivy.
27:19Casanova.
27:23You have the highest scores
27:25and one of you
27:27is this week's winner.
27:30Suede.
27:31Please step forward.
27:34Peach.
27:36Andre.
27:39You have the lowest scores
27:41and one of you
27:42will be going home tonight.
27:43Laura, Kathleen
27:46you actually
27:48had the highest score
27:49in your team.
27:50Wow.
27:51So if you had been
27:52in the Confident collection
27:53you may have won.
27:55Thanks a lot.
27:56Congratulations.
27:57You are safe
27:58along with the rest of you.
28:00You can leave the runway.
28:07Designers.
28:07Let's bring out your models.
28:09Casanova.
28:18How did you put confidence
28:20into your design?
28:22To wear like a leather dress
28:23you need to be confident
28:25about yourself
28:26in order to carry the dress
28:27in the proper way.
28:29Congratulations Casanova.
28:30I think the cutter
28:31and the back
28:32is fantastic.
28:33I love the way
28:34that you've used
28:35the lace scallop.
28:35I think it looks
28:36so expensive
28:38which is a great compliment.
28:40I do wish
28:41the length
28:41was a little fresher though.
28:43Maybe if it was
28:43below the knee
28:44it would look a little edgier
28:46with the tights.
28:46I love the tights.
28:47I love it
28:48and I completely agree
28:49with Isaac
28:49where if you just make it
28:51a little bit longer
28:51it would have been chiquer.
28:53I really applaud you
28:54on using tone on tone.
28:56I think that was really risky
28:57but I wrote on my card
28:58nothing really exciting.
29:01I think it's a really
29:01sleek dress
29:02and the word that came to mind
29:04for me was wearable.
29:05It's gorgeous.
29:08So Ivy.
29:09This is my version
29:10of a power suit
29:11for the word confident.
29:13Really strong shoulders
29:14a little risk taking.
29:15The jacket I adore.
29:17I think the lace placements
29:19are absolutely fantastic.
29:21Can you turn around?
29:22The symmetry of that
29:24is really well placed.
29:26I just question
29:27whether a lace short
29:28would have worked better
29:28if you were going to go
29:29for a short.
29:30I just wonder
29:31about shorts anymore.
29:32It's almost like
29:33I want to see those pants
29:34with that jacket or something.
29:35We wanted to make it
29:36where his look could go
29:37with my look
29:38but we don't want
29:38to make it too obvious.
29:40I love the collection.
29:41I thought it was very cohesive
29:42but I really didn't care
29:44for the jacket.
29:45What threw me off
29:46was where the lace
29:47cutouts were placed.
29:49I would have preferred
29:49either just the waist
29:51or just the sleeve.
29:52I love the jacket.
29:54Jackets are something
29:55that are so hard to construct.
29:57I think you did
29:57a beautiful job.
29:59And I actually do like
30:00that you added
30:00the leather short
30:01because I thought
30:01the leather really made it
30:03edgy and kept it young.
30:05Good job.
30:05I'm smart though.
30:07So Anthony.
30:08I kind of wanted it
30:09to be more of a surprise
30:10in the back
30:11just to add
30:12that little bit of fun
30:13but I wanted to keep it
30:14clean and fresh and easy.
30:16The lace is a surprise
30:17and that's what I love.
30:18She feels very modern.
30:19She feels fresh.
30:21I would see wearing this
30:22during the day
30:23with a blazer over it
30:24and then taking that jacket off
30:26and having this wow moment
30:28with the back
30:29which was my absolute favorite
30:30part of the outfit.
30:32The pants,
30:33I'm overlooking the fact
30:34that they don't really fit
30:34so well in the crotch
30:35but they give a whole new life
30:37to like this idea
30:38of skinny white pants.
30:40Can you turn around please?
30:41I just absolutely love
30:43how you cut the tush.
30:44This is an outfit
30:44that says that you're confident.
30:47So now we're going to move
30:48to our least successful collection.
30:52Suede, tell us about
30:53your bold design.
30:55I really wanted to
30:56push myself creatively
30:58and try to give bold shapes
31:00and try to create a pattern
31:02so it would break up
31:03the solid black and blue
31:04that we had running
31:05throughout the collection.
31:06Suede, all these good ideas
31:08put together don't work.
31:10They're working against each other
31:11and those little handkerchiefs
31:13on the skirt,
31:14I just,
31:15I kind of think
31:15it looks a little sloppy.
31:16I love the little skirt.
31:19I think it's adorable
31:20but the top of it
31:21I would have made
31:22just a little turtleneck
31:22or a sleeveless tank.
31:23It would really set off
31:25the idea of the bottom.
31:26See, I'm the opposite.
31:27I actually love the top
31:28but I don't know what it is.
31:29They're actually breast cups.
31:31I wanted to really embrace
31:32the hourglass shape.
31:33I see a lot of work
31:34in this dress
31:35but you have two different
31:36dresses here
31:37and I think visually
31:38it's a lot for the eye
31:39to take in.
31:40I appreciate all your feedback
31:41and I will certainly
31:42take it to heart.
31:44Peach, what were you thinking
31:45when you made your design?
31:46Well, I'm a tennis wear designer
31:48and the bold part of this
31:51is I touched fabric
31:52that I have not put my hands on
31:55since I learned how to sew
31:56in fourth grade
31:57with Mrs. Murphy.
31:58You know,
31:58before you started speaking
32:00I thought that you might
32:01say something
32:02to make me like it better
32:03and the more you talk
32:04the more I dislike it.
32:05I have to say
32:06so you should stop talking.
32:07Like that sleeve
32:08is so badly fitted.
32:09You know,
32:09you took such a good idea
32:11and you didn't even
32:12make the best part
32:13of the dress good.
32:14Next time
32:15I think you need
32:16to speak up
32:16and you say
32:17these are my strengths
32:18and this is what
32:19I'm good at
32:20and we're a team here
32:21and I want to contribute.
32:22Okay,
32:23kind of five against one.
32:24I didn't want to be
32:24that person that pushed it
32:26and then had...
32:26In season eight
32:26you were the mother
32:27of the bunch.
32:28I did.
32:28All right?
32:28You don't have to be
32:29the mother.
32:30They're all grown ups.
32:31You do your thing.
32:34Andre.
32:35This is an evening ensemble
32:36constructed in
32:38stretch cotton sateen
32:39with black silk organza
32:41and this blue fabric
32:44which we've used
32:45to direct the eye
32:45toward areas of interest.
32:50Oh,
32:50I hate saying this
32:52but I don't get it.
32:53I don't know.
32:54I just don't get it.
32:55Am I missing something?
32:56Is it a dress?
32:57Is it a tank with a skirt?
32:59It is a tank with a skirt.
33:00Is it supposed to be plumb?
33:01Like is it making an X
33:02across her body?
33:03Or is it...
33:04It should be more special.
33:05Okay, so there's
33:06a big problem right there.
33:07I lament that my intention
33:09is slightly muffled here.
33:11Okay.
33:11I just feel
33:12if we start asking you
33:13to explain your design
33:15there's a problem.
33:16No, well, oh no.
33:16No, no, no.
33:17Sorry.
33:18You shouldn't...
33:19I like the intention of this.
33:21There's definitely
33:21an edginess to it
33:23but it's too complicated
33:24for the eye right now.
33:26Can you turn around
33:26for a second?
33:28So she has a zipper
33:29on the inside of her dress.
33:30Mm-hmm.
33:31How is she zipping herself?
33:33Out of it.
33:34It's pieces.
33:36It's just so difficult.
33:41So now we're going to deliberate
33:42and we'll call you back.
33:45You can leave the runway.
33:47The win is more fun than ever.
34:01They're cool though.
34:03I like the judges.
34:05Let's talk about the high scores
34:07of the winning collection
34:08and I think it's best
34:09to start with Casanova.
34:11I did like the tone on tone.
34:12I thought that was really smart.
34:13I don't think anybody else
34:14in the collection did that
34:16but it was that length
34:17that was really
34:17messing things up.
34:19I think maybe he could have
34:19applicated the lace
34:21to give the illusion
34:22more length.
34:22One thing though
34:23is how tired
34:25is this idea of leather
34:26mixed with lace
34:27and yet I thought
34:28it wasn't tired
34:29like he somehow
34:30made it fresh.
34:31He pulled it off
34:32and did a good job.
34:35I really liked
34:36Anthony Ryan's outfit.
34:38I thought it was just
34:39so sleek.
34:40It was really modern.
34:41There was a surprise
34:42at the back.
34:43He had the perfect balance
34:44of effortless cool
34:45with something
34:45very, very wearable
34:47for many, many women.
34:48But there were
34:49our constriction issues
34:50with the pants.
34:50Once the model
34:51was standing up there
34:52you could see
34:52those crotch issues.
34:53So that was a design mistake.
34:54I will say
34:55like of all the elements
34:56that he brought together
34:57you couldn't tell
34:58exactly what was going on
34:59but you loved it
35:00because there was
35:00something so fresh and new.
35:04I loved Ivy's jacket
35:05but there was something
35:06about those shorts.
35:07But there is a kind
35:08of weird retro
35:09come modern look
35:11about that girl.
35:12I think the jacket
35:13just because it is
35:14so difficult
35:14to construct a blazer
35:16for me that's
35:16the best look.
35:20Let's move on
35:21to the losing collection.
35:23Suede.
35:24Was his dress
35:25the most modern
35:26out of the three?
35:27Absolutely not.
35:28But he had ideas in it.
35:30I just thought
35:31it looked junior-y.
35:32Yes.
35:32I thought maybe
35:33it's because of the breast pads.
35:34If you really wanted
35:35to do that handkerchief thing
35:36it could have just been simple.
35:37Those were like ripped off.
35:39Yeah.
35:39He wanted to give
35:41his boldest self
35:42which I really appreciate
35:43but I could feel
35:44his angst in this garment.
35:48Let's talk about Peach.
35:50It made you feel sad
35:51because you knew
35:52the intention was good.
35:53She kept blaming
35:55the fabric
35:56blaming the group.
35:58Her dress was
35:58absolutely a mess
36:00and we all need
36:02a basic little dress
36:03and if you can't sew it
36:04then start throwing
36:05some handkerchiefs on
36:06the way that Suede did.
36:07That is the best thing
36:10I've ever heard.
36:13Andre, I didn't know
36:15what to say at first.
36:16I was kind of like
36:16well I'm not really sure
36:17what's going on here.
36:18It was too messy.
36:20He had straps,
36:21the fabric.
36:21We didn't know
36:22whether it was a dress
36:23or a skirt.
36:23It was so strange
36:23it was a crisscross
36:24and then like a scoop
36:25like sweetheart underneath.
36:26It was weird.
36:27The thing is that
36:28it's really hard
36:28to be in the bottom three
36:29and sometimes you don't know
36:31how to talk about your work
36:32but if you get on that runway
36:33you have to defend it.
36:35You have to act like
36:35it's the best thing
36:36you've ever made.
36:37And he didn't apologize.
36:38He lamented
36:39which is sort of hilariously funny.
36:40I thought he was so endearing.
36:41He's hilariously funny.
36:43It was a mess.
36:44Like his mind.
36:44You're right.
36:45But it was the most modern.
36:49I think we've come
36:50to a decision, right?
36:51Yeah.
36:52Okay, so let's bring
36:54them back out.
