00:30This is Project Runway.
00:37Okay, I know this sounds totally vain, but I think Project Runway is the Ivy show.
00:42I started my line, Ivy H, two years ago.
00:46I sleep here and I work here. I try to organize a little bit.
00:49The fabrics that I use are extremely luxurious.
00:52My construction skills are absolutely amazing.
00:54I'm a force to be reckoned with.
01:00I'm Casanova. I'm from Fajardo, Puerto Rico, but I'm living right now in New York.
01:09So you're Carlos Casanova, but you want to be called Casanova?
01:12Please.
01:13Why?
01:13It's my real last name.
01:15It's a big name to live up to.
01:16We won't even go there.
01:17I've already done everything in Puerto Rico.
01:20Avant-garde stuff, beauty pageant, art, couture.
01:24So I think, what's next for you?
01:26And I think I belong to New York.
01:29I'm Sarah Tross.
01:31I grew up in Northern California.
01:32I was born in LA.
01:33Now I'm in New York.
01:34I definitely use unconventional combinations of materials and colors.
01:39So is this totally gross and ugly, or is this, like, the cutest thing I've ever seen?
01:44Hi, I'm Sarah.
01:45Hey, Jay.
01:45Nice to meet you.
01:46Where'd you come from?
01:47I came from St. Charles, Missouri.
01:49Holy s***.
01:49Kind of out of my element a little bit.
01:52I design for the party girl, the punk rock girl.
01:56Definitely someone who will wear just about anything.
01:59I have no idea if I'm ready for what's coming my way.
02:02I could totally lie and say that, like, I'm ready to go and I'm going to beat everybody.
02:06But we all know that anybody who gets on there and says that they're going to win and kill
02:10everyone right now has no idea what they're talking about.
02:14My name is Peach Carr.
02:16I'm 50 years old and I'm from Lake Forest, Illinois.
02:20I design mostly for, like, the ladies who lunch.
02:25Well-dressed, pretty crisp, clean lines.
02:29Am I going to be the oldest?
02:30Hell to the S.
02:32Hello there.
02:33Hi, hon.
02:34How are you?
02:35Nicholas, it's nice to meet you.
02:36Nice to meet you.
02:36We're the same height.
02:37We are.
02:38Excellent.
02:38Same color hair.
02:39Yeah, same thing to be in common.
02:40Well, this is going to be a great time.
02:41I'm really excited.
02:42I can't wait to beat you.
02:43Beat me?
02:44Yeah.
02:44Oh, I'm sorry.
02:45Get ready to be school, little boy.
02:49Hello.
02:49Hi.
02:50How are you?
02:50Mikkel.
02:51Hi, Mikkel.
02:52Nice to meet you.
02:53Kristen.
02:53Casanova.
02:54Casanova, nice to meet you.
02:56Where are you from?
02:57I'm from Utah.
02:58No, I even don't.
02:59You're not yet?
03:01Don't throw down your menu now.
03:02You're like, I don't know.
03:03I am from Utah, and I do feel like I get that stereotype, but at the end of the day, what
03:09I do create, I think, proves to people that I know what I'm doing.
03:14What kind of background do you guys have as far as your designing goes?
03:17My background is in graphic design.
03:19I am really an accidental apparel designer.
03:22Really, what makes my designs unique is that I allow the mistakes that I make to be a part
03:30of the final piece.
03:31Some seamstresses, they said, oh, no, you can't do that.
03:34You can't have a crooked zipper like that.
03:36And I said, yes, you can.
03:37You can have a crooked zipper.
03:39Embrace the crooked zipper.
03:40The fact that I was 14 years old and straight in high school designing didn't hurt me that
03:46much because it had a pretty short temper.
03:48So if anybody said a word to me, I would straighten them out.
03:54I like to mesh men's wear, women's wear together, tough looks on women, not so tender on men.
04:01Hi.
04:03Hi.
04:04Hi.
04:04I'm Keith.
04:05Mondo, how you doing?
04:06Mondo, excellent.
04:07I almost wore the same thing.
04:08Really?
04:08Yeah.
04:09Nicholas, nice to meet you.
04:10Nicholas, Mondo, hi.
04:11From New York, where are you from?
04:12Denver, Colorado.
04:14People's first impressions of me probably are that he's a little strange.
04:20But I think if you're misunderstood, then you have something really good going on.
04:24What do you do?
04:25Me?
04:25Well, before I did this, I was an architect.
04:27I then went into working designing accessories.
04:30The transition from architecture to fashion, it actually was a bit easier than I thought
04:35it was going to be.
04:36I like to play with seaming.
04:38I like to play with menswear materials, and I just feel like it's very architectural when
04:42you look at it.
04:43Hi.
04:44Hi.
04:45What's your name?
04:45I'm Christopher.
04:46Oh, I'm April.
04:47Nice to meet you.
04:47April, nice to meet you.
04:48One of the greatest experiences that ever happened to me was walking down the street seeing a woman
04:51randomly wearing my clothes.
04:53When's the last time you were in New York?
04:55I just came up to do some fabric shopping because actually I'm pretty young.
04:58I just graduated college.
04:59Oh, congratulations.
05:01People might think I'm too young to be taking on a challenge like this, but I'm confident
05:06in who I am as a designer.
05:08I'm not the girl to come to to design your tea party dress.
05:13I guess it's going to be a little bit gnarly.
05:16I love to destroy to create.
05:20Hi, Sarah.
05:22Hi, Sarah.
05:22I'm 17 years old, opened up my first store.
05:26I've done great fashion events.
05:28I've been in editorial.
05:29I've gotten great celebs to wear my dresses.
05:32I've been here to win.
05:33I'm going to shut this shit down because I have what it takes.
05:36I'm going to be here to wear my own clothes.
05:40Oh, my God.
05:43Hi, everybody.
05:48Hi.
05:48Welcome to Lincoln Center, the new home of New York Fashion Week.
05:55Three of you will be showing your final collections here in the fall.
05:59But you have a lot to prove to us before any of you find yourself right back here.
06:05You all know this distinguished man standing right next to me, Tim Gunn.
06:10Chief Creative Officer for Les Claimborn.
06:13Thank you, Heidi.
06:14Good morning, designers.
06:15I'm thrilled to see all of you here, all 17 of you.
06:19I have to tell you, you're all so talented that we just couldn't narrow the group of you down to the usual 16.
06:25Accordingly, your first challenge, it's actually the last phase of the audition process.
06:30Oh my god, that was so evil.
06:34So none of you are officially on Project Runway Season 8 yet.
06:38In fact, one or more of you will be eliminated today.
06:42Oh my god, that sucks.
06:44That's right, today is your first challenge, the first runway show, and the first elimination.
06:50I mean, I knew that they were going to spring something crazy on us, but I didn't expect it to be like, okay, you're trying out still.
07:00Coming up on Project Runway.
07:02Since this is the first challenge, there's a twist.
07:05Oh, this is sanity.
07:08I've never really been criticized on my clothes.
07:10It's attacking me.
07:13Somebody's going to get hit.
07:14Now I see that all of you have your suitcases with you.
07:29Yeah?
07:30Ah, damn.
07:30Please open them up and pull out one item that you would like to incorporate into your garment.
07:36I don't even know what I'm going to use.
07:41I got into fashion primarily in knitwear.
07:49Knitwear is sort of a different beast.
07:51It's not exactly draping because you're fully creating one unit.
07:55There's nothing cut.
07:56I'm working in knitwear all the time and I'm stepping into something.
07:59It's like playing the harpsichord your entire life and then all of a sudden going to the electric guitar.
08:05So this item must be worked into your final garment.
08:09But since this is the first challenge and we want to see what you're made of, there's a twist.
08:14Please pass your item to the person to your right.
08:18This will be the garment you use in your design.
08:21Ooh, somebody's going to get hit.
08:26I took like one of my favorite pants.
08:28It's $1,070.
08:32When I realized that they're going to like cut and do like the idiom in the United States.
08:40Designers, you have your new garment and you will have five hours to complete your design before it walks the runway.
08:48It was shocking to hear that we weren't completely on the show and then to only have five hours was also like, ah!
08:54We must be able to see the garment that you're holding right now in your final design in some way.
09:01All right designers, let's head off to Parsons and get to work.
09:04Very, very exciting to have you.
09:06It's timing.
09:07Exactly.
09:08My design aesthetic is one part contemporary minimalist art and one part 1970s bohemian.
09:16I am a sustainable clothing designer based out of Portland, Oregon.
09:21I'm a pretty rural girl from humble backgrounds.
09:24Everything I make is hand dyed by me.
09:26I live a pseudo hippie lifestyle but fashion first is always how I feel.
09:32I always want to be fashion first.
09:33I want you purchasing because I'm an amazing brand and it just happens uniquely.
09:48I feel like I'm a kid.
09:50When I was a kid, you know, we didn't have a lot of money.
09:52We had to buy a lot of stuff that I wasn't really crazy about.
09:54So usually I would try to find cool ways to make them look good.
09:58I believe that design should serve a purpose beyond aesthetics.
10:05Hello designers.
10:06Hi.
10:07Hi Tens.
10:08Welcome to the work room and I'm pleased to see that you've each found your work stations.
10:11Excellent.
10:13Next door is the Brother sewing room called such because it's fully outfitted with Brother sewing machines.
10:19Technology is playing a greater role in the creative process.
10:22We have HP Touch Smart notebooks for each of you.
10:26This technology from HP and Intel is here to help you further enhance your creative process.
10:32And I have more good news for you.
10:34For this challenge, Mood has come to us.
10:40Also, there is a model card and your model's measurements.
10:44They've been randomly selected for you.
10:46You have 15 minutes to sketch and then we're going to the Mood Annex.
10:50Work hard everybody.
10:52Thanks Sam.
10:53I know that my aesthetic is different.
10:57That's because I'm in Hawaii.
10:59I draw from a really genuine place.
11:02I began my career designing pageant gowns and I realized pretty early that it wasn't my passion.
11:09So now it's my time to design for me.
11:12Alright designers, your sketching time is up and we are going to the Mood Annex.
11:18Follow me.
11:19It's all yours.
11:21This is from a jacket that April ended up having to give me that she loves.
11:31I'm going to make it work because that's what we're supposed to do.
11:35Oh, I just tore the wrong seam.
11:36I'm sorry.
11:37Should we like say a prayer over here?
11:38I got Casanova's Dolce & Gabbana pants.
11:39He hadn't even worn them yet.
11:40I bring to her my nice pants, Dolce & Gabbana.
11:41She was like cutting.
11:42How much were they?
11:43They were like $1,007,000.
11:44Don't talk anymore about the pants.
11:45Stop that.
11:46It's just gonna insanity.
11:47Coming up on Project 1,000 men.
11:48I remember the Vardy, we had to wear a Vardy, I gave a Vardy one.
11:50I really loved the Vardy one.
11:51It was a Vardy one.
11:52Oh, my spare guy.
11:53I was like a Vardy one.
11:54I really loved it.
11:55Oh?
11:56I loved it.
11:57I'm not like a Vardy.
11:58Yeah, I was like a Vardy one.
11:59Oh, they want to wear that dress.
12:00Take a Vardy one.
12:01I'm not like Ben.
12:02Is there what you need?
12:03Is there anything from that?
12:04Or I want to wear it?
12:05Okay.
12:06Why can't we do that?
12:07about the pants stop that it's kind of insanity coming up on project runway
12:15is it sexy or is it vulgar the clock is sticking i think he doesn't like it at all
12:33designers i just want to check in with each of you and see how you're doing hi mikhail hello
12:42how are you doing well at this point i'm feeling a little frazzled can i be honest with you i think
12:47this is adorable oh that's good that makes me happy i started out with just a plain blue man shirt
12:54with these what yeah just think about whether this makes it a little too heavy-handed okay well that's
13:00and here i just feel like it's trying to work yeah okay just play with it okay thank you thank you
13:06casanova yes how are you okay there's a lot of skin that we'll be showing yes is it sexy or is it vulgar
13:15no i think it's sexy really looks awfully low in the back so you started with a blouse exactly you
13:25wouldn't know that now i think he doesn't like it at all nothing nothing at all and then i would
13:31say you're doing well for what you have to work with exactly okay have her work it on that runway
13:37okay thank you casanova you're welcome gretchen hi what did you start out with i started out with a
13:44little tape-like jacket with lots of applique i didn't want to just approach this as like i'm using all
13:51the fabric or all the applique but like what's the essence of this piece and what type of girl
13:56would be wearing it i'm completely with her very simple yeah okay great okay thank you thank you very
14:02much gretchen coming up on project bombay she's pretty busty for a model it's a big distraction
14:11my heart is pumping i'm a nervous wreck i have absolutely no point what to do i think i'm gonna
14:17have she's done yeah
14:31designers i'm sending in your models you will have 10 minutes to fit them all right then they are going
14:38to the garnier hair salon and the l'oreal paris makeup room that will take an hour when they return you'll
14:45be styling with them for the runway use the piper lime accessory wall very thoughtfully all right i'm
14:52sending in your models
15:02hello nice to meet you as well oh my god it's the only way i'm going to be able to get anywhere
15:11you like it yeah okay good
15:24she's really um she's pretty busty for a model but it's a big distraction i'm not gonna lie she has no
15:31bra and she's like mine you know like oh my god and i don't want to cross the boundaries like like a
15:37doctor would but i mean come on so i want like a mohawk but it's i want it curled i want to like big hair
15:52uh-huh like big curls or makeup okay makeup
16:00perfect
16:09designers and models in 15 minutes we are walking down to the runway fully prepared for the runway show
16:16so thank you where is my i kind of better go check on my model of course it's madness i just take my
16:25model down the hair and i kind of forgot about her tell me quick this is quick just um bright bold red lip
16:34and bright bold red yes it's easy enough it's easy enough designers and models this is it okay is
16:45everyone listening yes we're headed down to the runway right now follow me come on everyone when team
16:52gun says that it's time to go my model um was undressed oh she's not under dress no it's not right
17:01just keep going casano okay you have to put her put her in it and i realized that i was working
17:07behind schedule she's dressed she's done you just dressed her yeah yeah i did she's done what i have
17:14to do she's done yeah she just have to like put this in here that's it well then do that right now
17:24all right that's it
17:25coming up on project runway
17:34sorry i think it is but ugly she's a pole dancer in dubai it's almost fascinatingly bad

18:11less than 17.
18:14the first challenge was the final stage in your audition process
18:18the 17 of you had to use an item from another designer suitcase to create your look
18:23we gave you a measly five hours to put a look together we know you've got the talent but can
18:32you deliver under pressure the winner of project runway will receive 100 000 from l'oreal paris to

19:18named to the international best dress list selma blair thank you thank you you're welcome we will
19:27score your designs as they come down the runway one of you will be named the winner and one or more of
19:32you will be out let's start the show i feel really good about my dress we didn't have a lot to work
19:42with i think my model's walking great styling is spot on i mean i made that thing in less than five
19:48hours i'm just concerned about what the judges have to think
19:52i'm excited to see if he come down the runway in my garment i think it looks great i think she's
20:03walking the daylights out of it i'm excited i'm i'm really at peace
20:20my dress is definitely moving i wish i would have maybe taken a little of the fullness out of the
20:28dress because the dress is looking fuller than how i want it to look
20:34it's perfect it's perfect it's perfect watching my look coming on the runway i feel really good
20:50i'm seeing a complete look come down a complete look that looks like i've spent days on it and
20:57i know that i had only five hours to do this i think that's pretty amazing
21:08i definitely feel good about the finished product of my look the main thing that i was worried about
21:12is that there was going to be some sort of crotch problem but uh i i definitely think it was it was
21:17good i made julia look beautiful i really like clean sophisticated garments my only concern is i know
21:32the judges are looking for innovative over-the-top stuff and sometimes that's kind of not what i do
21:47i see my dress and i love it i really do but i'm worried about the hem because it was a little wonky
21:55but overall the styling and the way she's selling it is working really well
22:05i think she looks gorgeous i think the look works great it's very
22:09impressive seeing what it looks like on the model so i'm i'm feeling pretty good right now
22:17i was so excited when i saw my dress coming down the runway i was like oh it looks so good wow i love
22:31the whole flow of it this is a classy elegant sophisticated look
22:47i really like the whole look i think the judges were pleased with the look and what i did with
22:55it and how i incorporated mondo's kilt and made it a collar
23:10the look i made is definitely me it's a five-hour taste of what i am but i feel like i got my message
23:15through and i was proud of it when i see my garment walk out i think cool it's modern it's edgy it's
23:33forward but i was just unhappy that i couldn't have everything completely done and tailored but i just
23:40have time my model comes around the corner and i nailed it she looks stunning i feel like she embodied
23:58what i needed i could tell she really liked it and i think those things are all key in making your
24:07challenge turn into a win everything about my garment i absolutely love i'm really happy with
24:17the hair and makeup the model's fabulous and it looks wonderful i was really really proud
24:21so my look coming down the runway it's not holding up it's coming apart at the seams
24:40when i first see the silhouette i'm terrified because i can't tell how together it is once it
24:59finally really hits the runway i actually think that it looks pretty good however i do think that i might
25:06and defend myself in terms of aesthetic because i feel like i have the garment that stands out the most
25:18when i saw my model i feel more comfortable because on stage looks like prettier than my working
25:27table it's sexy but it's not vulgar
25:48those of you who survived tonight will be moving into project runways original new york home at the atlas
25:57if i call your name please step forward aj andy please step forward valerie
26:08sarah peach please step forward kristen please step forward michael castello please step forward
26:20if i've called your name congratulations your scores have qualified you to move on to the next challenge
26:37you can leave the runway and you can unpack
26:49one of you is the clear winner
26:54gretchen you are the winner of this challenge congratulations thank you thank you so much
27:02you had one of the worst materials to work with tell me about it and you turn it into something chic
27:08and fashionable thank you the dress is wearable but interesting it's beautifully cut i can see it on a
27:16million different girls bravo thank you i thought she looked very sophisticated i also loved your styling it
27:23it was just perfectly done congratulations i agree i thought it was simply elegant when you when
27:29you came out i was like ah it really was really a special simple dress thank you thank you all very
27:36much congratulations gretchen you and your model you can leave the runway
27:39i know well you won i won and it feels really good i also feel a little weird because
28:01i have a sinking suspicion that there are a lot of people going home tonight
28:09since this is the final stage of the audition process today we do not have a top three and a bottom
28:15three all of you are in the bottom none of you should feel safe
28:32the rest of you represent the bottom six since this is the last phase of your audition process
28:39we're going to talk to and hear from all of you ivy tell us about your look um the garment that i
28:47started with was peach's pant i guess my design aesthetic is a little more minimalistic where it's
28:52more attention to detail like on the side of the pant here i have the pleating detail and the embellishment
28:58on the blouse well no offense to peach but i don't know why she packed those but you didn't transform
29:06well the challenge wasn't to transform it was to implicate into our design so you just showed her
29:11pants and rished them up the side and i look at the blouse which to me kind of looks like it went
29:17through a paper shredder sorry to interrupt or interject but i i i don't know i guess i just have to disagree
29:23because i just feel like there's a lot of detail to it forget what you did to the pant or not the
29:28blouse looks mumsy it's a odd length then to top that off the styling is a disaster i too had the
29:37same thought when it came out i was like wow she made pants out of pants how interesting nice jason
29:45tell us about your look so i got this kimono beautiful kimono from andy when my model came in
29:50that the size and really it wasn't really fitting her so you know i kind of adjusted the fit and
29:56every time she came out it just kept sinking and sinking and there's really nothing you guys can say
30:00that i won't agree with this to me looks exactly like my hairdressing cape i was wearing without my
30:07haircut and then when i look at what you had to work with not much has changed it's a little sad it's a
30:13little backwards bathrobe april i received a men's blazer and i cut out the front panels and turned
30:24it inside out and then i took fabric from mood and did the dress underneath and then the back panels
30:31i wanted it to be kind of raw and kind of unfinished that always worries me too you know when people do
30:37this shredded look because then you never know is it because you don't know how to do it
30:43my cow okay so i got aj's short sleeve button down shirt and it had some metal bits on the shoulder
30:55and i got rid of the metal bits up here and brought some metallic into her skirt and then i just wanted
31:01to make it fun and flirty and a good time i like the fact that you mix these fabrics that precious fabric
31:10with that common just button down shirt but the styling again guys you have to be very mindful of
31:17that because it's all about the presentation that bad it's the flower with the hair the styling i agree
31:24with nina it's it's a train wreck i have to say too and i'm sorry i think it is but ugly it is just so
31:32not flattering nicolas the item that i had to work with was christopher's bomber jacket this was
31:40actually the bottom of the jacket the ribbing and i had this idea of trying to take this sportswear
31:45and trying to mix it with an evening look the whole thing really just doesn't mesh together
31:51because i think the idea of doing sportswear and evening sounds fantastic but this is too quiet so
32:01it's almost like it's a snooze casanova the garment that i have to work with was that kind of blouse with
32:13a lot of movement a lot of tails so i was trying to find another fabric and still match with the
32:23original one it's odd i mean it's the only word for it i mean it's this strange mix of things she's
32:30like a mother of the bride who's a belly dancer i mean she's sexaholic but she's conservative i don't
32:36know who she is she's a pole dancer in dubai okay we're gonna have a little chat and we'll bring you
32:44back out you can leave the runway thank you all right why don't we start with ivy who made pans out of
33:01pants what a stretch what a stretch and she didn't quite understand that she actually tried to convince
33:08us to no avail that this was good taste and this was good casanova he definitely thought outside of the
33:17box i mean whoa that's a blouse turned into a belly dancing dress i mean it's an odd one and the taste
33:24level is certainly scary you wouldn't dream of ever hitting broad daylight in this dress
33:31it's just it's just i mean i don't think anybody would dream of coming up with this outfit from
33:37that top let's talk about jason his story was so bizarre yeah he's the only one who actually had
33:47a lot of fabric he had all of it all he did was why is he not using the sewing machine but i do
33:54actually like the way it kind of was put together i like the boot with it i like the spiky hair i like
34:03the spiky kelly hair look that's true what do we think about april i think she obviously was frazzled
34:12by the time involved i think today it was a mess when you really looked at the outfit but at least
34:17the taste is modern it's it's now it doesn't look so like a pastiche from another time i agree who knows
34:23if she knows how to actually make clothes right but this challenge was like the shortest one you
34:28guys have ever done isn't it in history so for the unfinished seams and everything it's like you
34:32feel like you really have to say okay i get it i mean they had five hours for this on their first day
34:39what about michelle she definitely lives in a different world she's in an alternate universe
34:46the only thing to me that that had any merit there was the idea that she thought okay i'm
34:53going to take this very casual shirt and mix it with i'm going to go glam with it and mix it up the
34:58sleeves off just didn't work yeah and she made the model look unflattering that was very unflattering
35:04on her body so i don't know is there something cool in her that we didn't see today i don't know
35:09what about nicolas he's got a girl who's gorgeous and i think she could wear a bag but even her beauty
35:21didn't sell you the gown which was just a boring dress he on the other hand i'm bored but i know he
35:28knows how to make clothes i mean it was a finished evening gown and he was very concerned to deliver
35:35something that looked well made and finished that was very respectful but he sent out a boring dress
35:42do you reward the person who's safe or do you you know reward someone who it didn't work but they at
35:48least tried i don't know is there anyone that we want to give a second chance to i think so all right
35:58let's bring them back out the six of you were in the bottom of this challenge
36:09this was our first impression of you and none of you should feel safe
36:14the six of you were in the bottom of this challenge
36:31this was our first impression of you
36:33april we want to see more from you you're in you can leave the runway thank you
36:47make room for me on that couch
36:55nicolas we want to see if you can push yourself given more time
37:00you're in you can leave the runway thank you so much
37:06so hard thank you thank you so much
37:12jason we are intrigued you're in you can leave the runway thank you
37:21mikhail
37:21we were perplexed not only by your design but also by your poor styling choices
37:33casanova no one can say that you didn't think outside of the box
37:39your look was fascinatingly bizarre and we question your taste
37:45ivy you didn't stretch yourself in this challenge you made pants out of pants and not very well at that
38:01mikhail
38:01i'm sorry you're out
38:09desi
38:09No, I'm not messing with you.
38:39Ivy, Casanova, you're both getting another shot.
38:56There's something about each of you that interests us.
39:00You're both in. You can leave the runway.
39:02Thank you so much.
39:03Thank you. Gracias.
39:09Uh-oh. What happened?
39:15We are in.
39:25How is everybody?
39:28I always feel sick about the first designer who's off the show.
39:32Mikkel, I have to tell you something.
39:35I stand by my earlier statement.
39:37The dress is adorable, didn't fit your model very well, and there was the dubious styling.
39:42But it's a lesson to all of you.
39:44It's every little subtlety and nuance.
39:46We're going to miss you.
39:49All right.
39:51So I have to send you to the work room to clean up your space, okay?
39:54Bye, Mikkel.
39:55I'm feeling a little bummed, but, you know, I guess someone has to be the first, and that's me.
40:03It's hard to follow your dreams.
40:04Sometimes you get knocked down, but if everyone quit after the first time they got knocked down,
40:09no one would amount to anything.
40:11So hopefully I'll pick myself up and do something really great with this experience.
40:16Moving into Atlas is so surreal.
40:26I made it.
40:27I'm in the cut.
40:28Like, here we go, Project Runway.
40:29Oh, wow.
40:31You made it here.
40:32This is nice.
40:33And the apartment is very cool.
40:34We opened up the curtains, and there was larger than life.
40:36New York City.
40:38Welcome to the designers.
40:40Thanks, Tim.
40:41They need to start providing alcohol.
40:43This is so pretty.
40:46This is way better than camp.
40:48I don't sleep.
40:48I'm a vampire.
40:49What?
40:50I never, ever, ever wanted to be on the bottom again.
40:53That feeling really, really sucked.
40:56Mm-hmm.
40:57I wonder what we're going to do tomorrow, though.
40:59I'm scared about tomorrow's job.
41:01How do you feel?
41:02Because you was, like, in the same boat.
41:04I'm happy it got today over with.
41:06Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow, I feel like...
41:09Yeah, you just need a good night's sleep.
41:11But really, they want to see more work from you.
41:12So, I think that's successful.
41:16Good night, bitches.
41:18Good night.
41:18Let's go to bed.
41:20I'm tired.
41:21Night, Sarah.
41:22Night, Gretchen.
41:23Night, John, boy.
41:25Okay, so now I'm finally on the show.
41:27Like, what's next?
41:29Next time on Project Runway.
41:32The winner of this challenge will have their look featured.
41:34That is huge!
41:36You have one day for this challenge.
41:38There is another element.
41:43So, plan B.
41:44They don't see something that's superbly finished.
41:47They will not have the patience.
41:48Do you have a sketch?
41:49No, it's all in my head.
41:52You try to do way too many things with your design.
41:57It just looks very cliché.
41:59Is that a walk of shame choice?
42:01The question is now, how many people do we want to get rid of?
