00:00 The typhoon HANA is still in the middle of the ocean and there is no direct effect on any part of our country.
00:10 Earlier this morning, HANA was seen 785 kilometers away, east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.
00:18 HANA's strong wind was blowing up to 120 kilometers per hour, near the middle of it.
00:23 The storm was blowing up to 150 kilometers per hour.
00:27 Now, it's moving westward at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour.
00:32 Because of this, we can see that even though the storm is still far away,
00:36 and the storm is still carrying a thick cloud,
00:39 there is still no high warning signal in any part of our country.
00:42 And there is still no direct effect on any part of our country.
00:47 In our latest forecast track, up to the moment when the storm will move,
00:51 in the next 2 to 3 days,
00:53 earlier this morning, we were able to track the location of HANA's center.
00:57 And tomorrow morning, Saturday, we will see that it is still far away in the middle of our country,
01:02 455 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.
01:06 Even though it is inside the PAR, it is still far away in the middle of our country.
01:10 On Sunday morning, we will see that it is almost at the northern boundary of our air responsibility,
01:16 or 490 kilometers north of Itbayat, Batanes.
01:20 And on Monday morning, we will see that it is almost in the area of the southeastern part of China,
01:28 805 kilometers northwest of the extreme northern zone, or in the vicinity of Fujian, China.
01:35 So we can see that in our forecast track,
01:38 even though the area of probability is like an apple of our forecast track,
01:42 it is not correct in any part of our country.
01:45 So we will continue to monitor, every 6 hours, we will release what we call a tropical cyclone bulletin.
01:51 Because we have divided the forecast track, or its movement, in the next 2 to 3 days,
01:56 what are we expecting?
01:58 In terms of rain, because it is far away in the middle of our country now,
02:02 and in the next 2 to 3 days,
02:04 we do not expect any effect of this in terms of heavy rainfall in any part of our country,
02:09 or strong winds brought by HANA,
02:11 we will not feel in any part of our country.
02:14 Because of this, we do not expect any effect of the movement of HANA in the next 2 to 3 days.
02:23 But, we are not only monitoring HANA.
02:26 If we can see in our latest satellite imagery,
02:29 aside from HANA, there are 2 other types of typhoons in our area of responsibility.
02:34 The type of Sisaula, the former typhoon Siguring,
02:37 and this severe tropical storm with an international name of Kirogi.
02:41 So, even though the 3 typhoons are far away in our country,
02:45 we can see that the overall forecast is that the Habagat or Southwest Monsoon will continue to change.
02:50 We can see that the forecast is thickly changing here in Luzon and in some parts of Western Visayas.
02:57 So, to visualize how the Habagat will change,
03:01 we can see here in the simulation of the surface winds in the next 5 days,
03:07 this is the typhoon Sisaula, the former typhoon Siguring, which is moving.
03:11 This is the typhoon HANA, which is now inside our area of responsibility.
03:15 And we can see that the expected wind that will be in our country in the next 2 to 3 days will still be from the south.
03:24 The change of the Habagat will continue in these 2 weather systems,
03:28 aside from the severe tropical storm here in the Pacific Ocean.
03:33 So, in terms of Habagat, let's talk about what will be the effect of this in terms of rain.
03:39 We experienced rain not only here in Metro Manila, but also in some areas of the Northern, Central and Southern Zones.
03:46 And in the next 2 to 3 days, we still have rain that will fall on Habagat.
03:52 Today, we measured 5,200 mm of rain that can be experienced in the Ilocos region,
03:57 in the areas of Abra, Benguet, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite and Batangas.
04:04 Meanwhile, tomorrow, 5,200 mm of rain in Abra, Benguet, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite and Batangas.
04:13 Today and tomorrow, it is possible to reach 100 to 200 mm of rain that can be experienced in Metro Manila, Sambales, Bataan, Occidental, Mindoro.
04:23 Meanwhile, on Sunday, we expect 5,200 mm of rain in Abra, Benguet, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite and Batangas.
04:37 Here in the Northern Palawan, with Cuyo and Calamian Island and in Laloigan, Antique.
04:42 On Sunday, we expect 100 to 200 mm of rain in Metro Manila, Ilocos region, Sambales, Bataan and Occidental, Mindoro.
04:51 To visualize the rain concentration in the next 2 to 3 days, here is an example of a rainfall forecast.
05:00 We can see the rain concentration starting from today to tomorrow, Saturday to Sunday morning and Monday to Monday.
05:09 We can see that the expected rainfall is almost in the Canlurang region of our country.
05:15 We can also see that the rainfall will be in the central part of the city, but the most common rainfall will be in the western section of the city.
05:31 We are still warning people to be alert to possible flooding, especially in low-lying areas. In areas near rivers, the rivers might flood because of the continuous rainfall.
05:44 The communities near rivers can also be affected.
05:48 The same goes for landfills, especially if it rains for a few days in areas near the foot of the mountains.
05:54 So, in areas where it is possible to experience flooding due to low-lying areas, local government and local disaster risk reduction managing officers will be advised to take measures for disaster preparedness and mitigation.
06:08 Meanwhile, in low-lying areas, apart from flooding, there will be occasional windfall.
06:14 Today, we are expecting windfall in Batanes, Ilocos region, Cordillera, Agnesotib region, Sambales, Bataan, Aurora, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol region, Western Visayas and Northern portion of Eastern Visayas.
06:32 Tomorrow, we are expecting windfall in Batanes, Ilocos region, Cordillera, Agnesotib region, Sambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Aurora, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol region, Western Visayas and Northern portion of Eastern Visayas.
06:50 On Sunday, we are expecting windfall in Batanes, Ilocos region, Sambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Aurora, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol region, Western Visayas.
07:04 We are expecting windfall in these areas. Because of the change in the weather, we are expecting the ocean to be very cloudy in most of the regions of the Luzon and Western and Eastern Visayas.
07:23 The areas highlighted in red, as far as possible, do not go there. Our fishermen and those who have small boats, we are expecting it to be very cloudy because of the change in the weather.
07:35 Thank you.
