00:07Oh what fun to run and jump and play
00:15Curious George, the curious little monkey
00:22Let's go see what he's doing today
00:31Curious George, at the ballet
00:36George was excited. The man with the yellow hat was taking him to the theater to see their friend Pedro, who was a dancer.
00:44If you hurry George, said the man, we can visit Pedro before he goes on stage.
00:50Inside the theater, all the dancers were getting ready. Some were lacing up their ballet slippers, some were exercising at the bar.
00:59And there was Pedro. He was wearing short pants and a shirt with patches all over it.
01:06We are dancing the story of Jack and the Beanstalk tonight, and I'm playing Jack, Pedro said.
01:13First I will plant these magic beans in the ground, and then when the beanstalk grows, I'll climb up to the sky.
01:20Let me show you.
01:22Lying on the ground was a long thick piece of green cloth. Suddenly, the cloth began to rise, right to the top of the theater.
01:33Now it was a giant beanstalk with green leaves. How did that happen?
01:39George was curious. He saw the man in the black jacket at the top of the stage.
01:46I am just testing the magic beanstalk for our dance, the man said.
01:51After Pedro plants the magic beans, I will pull this wire and the people in the audience will think the beanstalk is really growing.
01:59By this time, the audience was seated and the orchestra began to play.
02:05Oh my, said the man in the black jacket. I better put the beanstalk back down to the ground. They're almost ready to begin.
02:13It was time for George to take his seat in the audience.
02:17On his way, he saw a big painted mask. George was curious.
02:24He lifted it up and put it over his head. It was so big that it covered him right to his toes.
02:32It was dark inside. George couldn't see where he was going. Then he heard people laugh.
02:40George had walked on stage just as Pedro began to dance.
02:46The people in the audience were laughing so hard that Pedro had to stop.
02:51George, he whispered, get off the stage. I'm in the middle of my dance.
02:57George pushed off the mask and ran up the ladder to the top of the stage.
03:03Pedro had started to dance again. Now Pedro was planting the magic beans.
03:10George was watching. Then he noticed the man in the black jacket. The man looked as if he was in trouble.
03:18The wire from the magic beanstalk had broken.
03:23George, he said, I'm so glad you're here. I need your help.
03:28Climb down to the back of the stage and grab the top of the beanstalk.
03:32You can wear my black jacket so no one will see you.
03:36How good that George was a monkey!
03:39Quickly he went down the curtain, grabbed the beanstalk, climbed back up and handed the beanstalk back to the man.
03:49Now Pedro could climb right to the top.
03:53The audience cheered. Bravo! Bravo!
03:58When the curtain was down, Pedro turned to George.
04:02You saved the show, he said. Thanks a lot.
04:07When the curtain went up again, there was George in his black jacket taking a bow with Pedro.
04:15Hooray for Pedro, the audience shouted.
04:18And hooray for George. The man with the yellow hat clapped the loudest of all.

05:02What's he up to? Let's find out!
05:11Curious George plays basketball.
05:17George, said the man with the yellow hat, Jimmy is playing basketball at school today.
05:22Why don't you go with him and watch?
05:26George and Jimmy walked to the school gym.
05:30George looked around in the gymnasium.
05:33What a nice place for a monkey to swing and play.
05:38Who's that fellow with you? asked Mr. Nicholas, the coach.
05:41This is my friend George, Jimmy said.
05:44He came to watch the game.
05:46OK, said Mr. Nicholas. I'll have to get a whistle. I lost my own.
05:52Looks like your team needs one more player. Bobby is sick.
05:56Hold on to his uniform.
05:58Couldn't George take his place, Mr. Nicholas? asked Jimmy.
06:02Mr. Nicholas looked at George.
06:04I don't see why not, he said, and walked off.
06:08Put on Bobby's uniform, George, said Jimmy, and he went to the court.
06:14George got dressed.
06:18Suddenly, he stepped on something hard.
06:21It was the coach's lost whistle.
06:24George picked it up.
06:27Soon, the coach came back with a new whistle.
06:30Let's get started, he called.
06:32When I blow twice, the game starts.
06:37When I blow once, the game stops.
06:41George was listening.
06:43Both teams took their positions.
06:46Jimmy's team wore red. The other team wore blue.
06:50Mr. Nicholas blew twice, and the game started.
06:56One red player passed the ball, and Jimmy got a basket.
07:01The crowd cheered.
07:04Now George blew his whistle once, the game stopped.
07:09Then, George blew his whistle twice, and the game started again.
07:17What's going on? shouted the coach.
07:19Who's blowing that whistle?
07:21He was angry.
07:23Maybe that little monkey, said one of the players.
07:26Yeah, said another player. Sounds like George is at it again.
07:30There he is, yelled someone else.
07:33George was scared.
07:35It was time to get away.
07:37He ran across the court, climbed up a steel girder, and hid behind the backboard.
07:44The game went on.
07:47It was nearly the end of the game.
07:50There were only a few seconds left.
07:52Jimmy's team needed one more basket to win.
07:56Jimmy dribbled the ball in closer to the basket.
07:59The blue team tried to stop him.
08:02Time was running out.
08:05Shoot the ball, Jimmy! they shouted.
08:07Jimmy aimed carefully and shot.
08:11The ball went high, but the shot was not good enough.
08:16George knew what to do.
08:18Quickly, he jumped down, just in time to grab the ball and shoot it into the basket.
08:25The crowd cheered.
08:27Hooray for George! shouted Jimmy.
08:30We won!
08:32Then the coach came over.
08:34You've caused enough trouble, he shouted.
08:36Give me back that whistle.
08:38Good coach, said Jimmy.
08:40George was the one who helped us win.
08:42Come to think of it, he did, said Mr. Nicholas, and he smiled.
08:46Good work, George.
08:49Time to go home, George, said the man with the yellow hat.
08:53George can play here anytime, said the coach.
08:56But I'll do the whistling.
08:59Then George and his friend got in their little blue car and drove off.
09:08To be continued...
09:38The Curious Little Monkey
09:44Where's he going?
09:47We'd all like to know.
09:51Curious George goes to an art show.
09:57Let's go to the art show this afternoon, George, said the man with the yellow hat.
10:02I hear they've got some good paintings.
10:05After lunch, they got into their little blue car and drove off.
10:10I see a friend over there, George, said the man.
10:13You can stay here and watch the artists paint.
10:16But don't get into trouble.
10:19Some artists had started their pictures.
10:22One artist was painting a bowl of fruit, and another was painting some flowers.
10:27Still another was sketching lines and circles and squares.
10:32Soon, George got tired of watching and climbed a tree.
10:38Look, said a painter, what an unusual subject, a monkey in a tree.
10:44That's what I'm going to paint.
10:48After a while, George climbed down and looked at the painting of the bowl of fruit.
10:54The artist wasn't there.
10:57George took the brush and put some paint on the picture.
11:01Then he went over to the next painting.
11:03This artist was talking to a friend.
11:06George added his own touch.
11:09Next came the painting with the circles and the squares.
11:13This one needed a lot of work.
11:16George picked up some brushes.
11:18Then he dipped them into the paint and went to work.
11:21Now George was a real painter.
11:25You're ruining my canvas, shouted a woman.
11:28She was angry.
11:30It was time to get away.
11:33George climbed back up the tree and hid in the branches.
11:37Now he was safe.
11:39I'll have to tell the chairman, said the angry woman.
11:43And off she went.
11:45Now the coast was clear.
11:47George started swinging back and forth, back and forth.
11:54Soon the woman came back with the chairman.
11:57There he is. That's the monkey, she shouted.
12:00The other artist rushed over.
12:02He messed up my work, cried one of the painters.
12:05Mine too, shouted another painter.
12:08Somebody catch him before it gets worse, yelled another one.
12:12George was surrounded.
12:14The artists were angry.
12:16They were shaking their fists at him.
12:19George looked around.
12:21He was trapped.
12:23Below were the judges walking up and down,
12:26examining each painting carefully.
12:29Which painting would win?
12:31George was curious.
12:33Finally, a judge reached for one of the paintings that George had worked on.
12:38Look here, he said.
12:40A most excellent work.
12:42The best in the show.
12:44It deserves the blue ribbon.
12:46Where is the artist?
12:48Here I am, said the woman.
12:50The judge turned around.
12:52Superb, he said.
12:54Congratulations.
12:56Just a moment, said the woman,
12:58and pointed to the tree.
13:00Please come down, George.
13:02Everything's all right.
13:04The woman turned to the judges.
13:06He's the one who helped me finish the painting.
13:09Shouldn't he get a blue ribbon too?
13:11Of course, said the chairman.
13:13And he put a ribbon on George.
13:16Everyone clapped and cheered.
13:21The man with the yellow hat came over.
13:23I'm glad to see you didn't get into any trouble.
13:26And guess what?
13:28I bought a painting.
13:30How do you like it?
13:32They got in their little blue car and drove home.
13:51Curious George, the curious little monkey
13:56Oh, what fun to run and jump and play
14:04Curious George, the curious little monkey
14:11Let's go see what he's doing today
14:17Curious George walks the pets.
14:23The man with the yellow hat was busy putting film in his camera.
14:27George sat and looked out the window.
14:29Their neighbor, Mr. Nelson, passed by.
14:32He was walking his dog, Andy.
14:35Sometimes, Mr. Nelson had to run when Andy pulled him.
14:39What would it be like to walk a dog?
14:42George was curious.
14:44He waited until Mr. Nelson and his dog were back home.
14:48Then he went over to their house and rang the doorbell.
14:52Mr. Nelson didn't answer it.
14:54But the door was open.
14:56So George went in.
14:58Andy's leash was hanging on a hook.
15:01George tried to put it on him, but Andy leaped away.
15:05Then George discovered what was going on.
15:08But Andy leaped away.
15:10Then George discovered Mr. Nelson's other pets.
15:14He had a cat, a canary in a cage, and a goldfish in a bowl.
15:20Could George take all of them for a walk?
15:23He tried to put the leash on the cat, but she meowed and ran away.
15:28Next, George opened the birdcage, but the bird flew away.
15:34The cat jumped after the bird.
15:36Andy chased the cat.
15:38The bird flew around in circles.
15:41And the goldfish splashed in its bowl.
15:44What excitement!
15:46Suddenly, Mr. Nelson rushed in.
15:49What's going on? he yelled.
15:51George dropped the leash and ran out of the house.
15:55Now he was safe.
15:57Mr. Nelson tried to calm down his pets.
16:00He made Andy lie down.
16:02He patted the cat, put the bird back in its cage, and fed the goldfish.
16:08Then he went back to the kitchen.
16:10The coast was clear.
16:12George sneaked back to watch the pets.
16:15He was sure they would all like to go for a walk.
16:18How could George put a leash on a bird or a goldfish?
16:22Suddenly, George knew what to do.
16:25He ran back home, got his little red wagon, and pulled it over to Mr. Nelson's house.
16:32Then he put the birdcage in the wagon.
16:35Then he put the goldfish bowl next to it.
16:38Then he picked up the cat and put it in the wagon.
16:42But the cat jumped out when Andy came over to see what was going on.
16:46Quickly, George hooked the leash to the dog's collar.
16:50Then he tied the other end to the wagon.
16:52Andy could help him pull.
16:54Finally, they were ready, and off they went.
16:58The cat followed them.
17:00Now George was walking all the pets down Garden Street.
17:04At the first house, Mrs. Jane's dog ran out and trotted behind the wagon.
17:09Then Mary O'Brien's cat fell in line, too.
17:12In no time, Mr. Klein's poodle, Mr. Fennelly's beagle, Dr. Barnes' collie,
17:19and all the other pets in the neighborhood were following George.
17:23What a parade!
17:25But the neighbors didn't think so.
17:28Mr. Nelson came running after them.
17:30So did Mary O'Brien and Dr. Barnes and Mr. Klein and Mrs. Fennelly.
17:36Stop! Stop! they shouted angrily.
17:39What are you doing with our pets?
17:41Bring them back!
17:43George was scared.
17:45What could he do now?
17:47Wait a minute, called Mrs. James from her doorway.
17:50Why are you angry with him?
17:52George is our pet walker.
17:54He can be a great help to us.
17:57Gee, that's right, said Mary O'Brien.
17:59I've read about pet walkers,
18:01but I never thought we could have one on Garden Street.
18:04George is doing a good job, too, said Dr. Barnes.
18:08The pets are really behaving.
18:10A pet walker could save me a lot of time, said Mr. Klein.
18:14Just then, the man with the yellow hat came running over.
18:17Hold still, everybody, he shouted.
18:19I want to take a picture.
18:21Everybody smile.
18:23And so they did.
18:45Curious George, a curious little monkey
18:50Here he comes, as happy as can be
18:58Curious George, a curious little monkey
19:05Why is he curious?
19:08Let's go and see
19:12Let's go and see
19:15Curious George goes sledding.
19:22Today would be a good day to try our new sled, George,
19:25said the man with the yellow hat.
19:27Let's go up to the hill.
19:29They got in their little blue car and drove off.
19:35I want to say hello to an old friend, George, said the man.
19:39You can climb up to the top with the sled and see what's going on,
19:43but don't get into trouble.
19:46At the top of the hill, Mr. and Mrs. Ramirez
19:49were watching their three children playing in the snow.
19:52Lisa and Paula were making a snowman.
19:57Their little brother Jimmy was watching.
20:01They were rolling a big ball to make the bottom of a snowman.
20:06George wanted to make his own snowman.
20:09He started to roll a snowball.
20:13It got bigger and bigger
20:17until it was so big that George couldn't see over it.
20:21Watch out, George, called Mr. Ramirez.
20:24You're getting close to the edge of the hill.
20:26But George was so busy rolling the heavy snowball
20:30that suddenly he pushed it over the edge.
20:34The ball rolled down the hill,
20:36turning faster and faster,
20:38gathering more snow as it went.
20:40Watch out, someone cried.
20:42It's a avalanche.
20:44Some skiers flipped over.
20:46A boy on a sled got covered with snow.
20:49It's that monkey up there, shouted someone.
20:52Get him out of here.
20:58He saw a snowflake, jumped over and hid behind it.
21:03Now no one could see him.
21:05George was safe.
21:07He peeked out.
21:09There was Jimmy all alone.
21:11He was trying to climb on a sled.
21:14The sled started to slide toward the edge of the hill.
21:18In a moment he would go right over.
21:22Jimmy shouted his mother, get off that sled.
21:25But she was too far away
21:27and Jimmy couldn't hear her.
21:30But George knew what to do.
21:33He ran toward the sled
21:35and jumped on right behind Jimmy.
21:38With two hands he held on to the boy
21:41and with the other two he steered the sled.
21:48Just then George saw a tree stump.
21:51They were heading straight towards it.
21:53George held Jimmy close to him
21:56and steered clear of the stump.
21:58Mr. and Mrs. Ramirez, Lisa and Paula
22:01came running down the hill.
22:04Jimmy, are you all right, cried Mrs. Ramirez.
22:07Sure he is, shouted Lisa.
22:09George is with him.
22:11Jimmy just laughed.
22:13He thought it had been lots of fun.
22:15There's that monkey who knocked me down,
22:17shouted the boy.
22:19He got in our way too, yelled a skier.
22:21Leave him alone.
22:23He saved my little boy, said Jimmy's father.
22:25I think George is a hero.
22:29Good work, cried Paula.
22:32And they all clapped and cheered.
22:34I guess you're right, said the boy.
22:37Now that you're a hero, George,
22:39I'll let you have a ride on my sled.
22:42Just then, the man with the yellow hat
22:44heard the cheers and rushed over.
22:47So there you are, George, said the man.
22:50How would you like to give me a ride now?
22:53And it was clear sledding from then on.

24:29Now do a twist, said the manager.
24:31And Billy did a twist.
24:34Then he jumped up and caught another fish.
24:38George was watching.
24:40But only a few people were in the audience.
24:44The next show will be at 2 p.m., folks, said the manager.
24:49George wandered off.
24:52Now he was behind the fish tanks
24:54filled with all different kinds of fish.
24:57Leaning against the tank was a net on a long pole.
25:01And on the floor was an empty pail.
25:05Could George feed the seals too?
25:08He was curious.
25:10He took the pole, went to the tank,
25:14and dipped it into the water.
25:18He caught lots of fish.
25:22And soon the pail was full.
25:26Just then, a guard walked down the hall.
25:29He stared at the tank.
25:32Hey, what's going on, he shouted.
25:35He blew his whistle.
25:37Guards came running from all directions.
25:40There he is, cried one of the guards.
25:42Somebody catch him.
25:44Stop him, shouted another guard.
25:46And ran after George.
25:48George was scared.
25:54He headed for the seal tank,
25:56dived right in,
25:59and landed on the back of the seal.
26:02Look, a monkey, someone shouted.
26:05The crowd clapped and cheered.
26:09With a twist of its head,
26:10the seal flipped George high into the air.
26:14Another seal caught him.
26:17Soon all the seals swam over.
26:19They wanted to flip George too.
26:23Wow, the audience cried.
26:26George flipped into the air,
26:28and the seals took turns catching him.
26:33It was the best show the audience had ever seen.
26:40Finally, George landed on the trainer's platform.
26:44Suddenly, a hand reached out and grabbed George by the ear.
26:49It was the guard.
26:51George was trapped.
26:54The manager rushed over.
26:56Wait, he said. Let him go.
26:58But he was fishing in our tank, said the guard.
27:01Never mind, said the manager.
27:03He made up for it by putting on a good show.
27:08How would you like a job in the seal show?
27:11I don't think he's quite ready for that,
27:13said the man with the yellow hat.
27:21George and the man with the yellow hat thanked the manager
27:24and drove off in their little blue car.
