00:02Today we're doing a review of a movie from 2006 called Bothersome Man.
00:10In the subway station, Andreas Ramsfeld watches a couple kiss.
00:14It's a strange love story, very methodical and without passion.
00:17It's like they're doing it because they have to, not because they want to.
00:20After thinking about it for a moment, Andreas decides to jump off the train
00:24while he remembers how it all started.
00:27A few weeks earlier, in the middle of the desert, an old man holds a welcome sign
00:31on an abandoned gas station just before the bus arrives.
00:35This bus throws out a disorderly Andreas who has nothing to do with what's happening.
00:39Now that Andreas is there, the old man drops the sign and then takes him to the city
00:43while he has a short, meaningless conversation with him.
00:46The area is clean and perfectly peaceful, maybe a little too much.
00:50Andreas has shared his own apartment and sent a calculator before he leaves the car.
00:55The exploration of the apartment doesn't take long, because it's small
00:58and only has the main bathroom, so it doesn't even have the smallest decorations,
01:02but it still has some clothing, even though it's just simple clothes.
01:06Andreas shaves his beard before he goes to bed to look better for his first day at work.
01:11The next morning, he goes to work in a prestigious company where he meets a few of his colleagues
01:16and is given some money to start before he's shown up at the office.
01:21Like his apartment, the office is small and has only three regular offices.
01:25Andreas spends the day typing numbers.
01:28He only takes a lunch break to go to the club near the office.
01:32On his way back, he notices something disturbing along the way.
01:36The body of a man is headlined on the fence of the building.
01:39There's no one around, everyone continues with their lives,
01:42while a group of cleaners come to remove the body without showing any feelings.
01:47They just treat it as a pile of garbage that should be removed.
01:51When Andreas returns to his office, he looks through the window
01:55and sees that the fence is clean and that there are no traces of anything happening there.
01:59After work is done, Andreas goes to the bar, but doesn't have a good time drinking alone.
02:04When he goes to the toilet, he complains about the alcohol in this place,
02:08because it has more water in it, so it doesn't give him any effect.
02:11The man on the floor next to him doesn't agree, saying that it's always been like this,
02:15and the voice behind the fence agrees with him.
02:17The voice thinks that nothing has a real taste, whether it's alcohol, chocolate, or women.
02:23Their conversation is interrupted when another man enters,
02:26but then Andreas tries to follow the man when he leaves the bar.
02:30He sees how he enters the building and lights up one of the underground apartments
02:34from which wonderful music comes out.
02:36Andreas begins to live a boring and meaningless routine,
02:39which consists only of work and dinners in front of a TV that has no taste.
02:43One afternoon, he decides to shake things up a bit and feel something different,
02:47so he lets the paper cutter cut off his finger.
02:50His colleagues come to check on him,
02:52but they look like they're not bothered by the fact that he lost his finger,
02:56so they just ask him why he's sitting on the floor.
02:58Andreas falls unconscious from the loss of blood and wakes up a few moments later
03:02with a bandaged hand in the back of the car that belongs to the cleaners,
03:06who don't communicate with Andreas's attempt for a small conversation
03:09and leave him in front of his apartment without a word.
03:12When Andreas goes to the toilet to take off his bandages and clean his wound,
03:16he is shocked when he discovers that his finger has returned and that he is fine and without bruises.
03:20With a desperate desire to get answers,
03:22the next day Andreas drives to an abandoned gas station in the desert
03:26and watches a man raise a sign to greet a new person.
03:30When the bus starts to leave, Andreas follows him in his car,
03:33but he quickly loses sight of him because there is nowhere to go.
03:36Andreas returns to work and finds the boss in his office,
03:40emphasizing that he wants him to be happy.
03:42They allow Andreas to ask for anything he needs,
03:45there can be a new computer or a new table,
03:48and he can take as much time as he wants for his lunch break.
03:51However, Andreas drives him away and assures him that he is fine.
03:54Today, he decides to have lunch in the company cafeteria
03:57and joins the table with his colleagues, instead of eating alone.
04:00He manages to fit in by joining the conversation about accommodation,
04:04and he earns a call for evening entertainment.
04:06After work, Andreas goes shopping for nice clothes and a bottle of wine,
04:10and passes by a window that belongs to a man from the bar.
04:13He tries to hear the music again, but when he gets too close,
04:16a couple of cleaners pass by and say that he is behaving strangely.
04:19Later that evening, while having fun, Andreas meets Anne Britt,
04:23an interior designer.
04:24The two of them get together and decide to go on a date sometime.
04:27When dinner is over, Andreas follows home and they spend the night together.
04:32Now that his life has begun to progress, Andreas is in a better mood.
04:36He buys a plant for his office desk, takes a better car and moves in with Anne.
04:41The couple works together on a big project to decorate the whole house,
04:45and when they finish, they call for their own evening entertainment.
04:49But a good mood doesn't last long.
04:51Soon, Andreas returns to his old boring routine.
04:54He always talks to his friends about accommodation.
04:56His nights with Anne are performative, but not passionate.
05:00The only thing she can talk about is decorating the house.
05:03One night, Andreas can't sleep, so he makes a little tasteless coffee,
05:07and when Anne checks it, he tries to tell her about the night sea.
05:10Whatever Anne says, he doesn't want her to talk like that,
05:13and he goes back to the topic of the house.
05:15A few days later, Andreas starts to follow his friend Ingeborg more,

05:39Ingeborg accepts, and they enter into an intimate relationship.
05:42Andreas and Ingeborg start to have a secret affair,
05:44even though they would like it not to be revealed.
05:47One afternoon, tired of these boring hours spent with Anne in front of the TV,
05:51Andreas tells her that he met someone else and wants to break up with her.

06:22so Andreas asks her to burn them all and to come live with him.
06:25She says that's not a problem for her,
06:27but she doesn't sound enthusiastic about it,
06:29because she's more for things going the way they've been going so far.
06:33Andreas tries to persuade her to admit that he loves her more than anyone else
06:37and that he's more specific than others,
06:39but Ingeborg just keeps repeating that all the guys are the same towards her.
06:42Feeling stuck in a conversation that sounds more like a burned out board,
06:46Andreas leaves the restaurant without finishing his dinner.
06:49Then the story goes back to the beginning.
06:51After watching the couple kiss,
06:53and after realizing that he won't have passion in his life,
06:56Andreas jumps on the train and waits for the train to pass.
06:59Anyway, after three hits, he still doesn't get what he wants.
07:03The station eventually closes,
07:05and he can now rest for a few hours,
07:07and Andreas gathers energy and strength to follow the light at the end of the tunnel
07:11and returns to the city.
07:13The cleaners find him and take him home without talking,
07:16or to try to take care of his wounds.
07:19When Anne sees him, she doesn't react either.
07:21She just tells him that they were invited to go karting with their friends.
07:25At peace with fate, Andreas accepts.
07:27A few days later, after drinking alone in the bar again,
07:30Andreas remembers the man behind the fence and tries to find him.
07:33He can hear the wonderful music coming from his window,
07:36so he climbs onto a part of the building to get to the last part of the basement,
07:40where he finally meets the man, whose name is Hugo.
07:43Andreas has to persuade Hugo to let him in,
07:46because Hugo is afraid that he could get into trouble
07:49because of what's inside his little room.
07:51The ceiling is covered with candles and a hole in the wall where the music comes out.
07:55After promising to keep the secret,
07:57Andreas is allowed to stay and listen to music with Hugo.
08:00The next day, Andreas is not focused on his job,
08:03which forces his boss to check on him.
08:05Anyway, when Andreas starts talking that he lacks the taste of real chocolate
08:09and sees children around, his boss gets surprised and leaves.
08:12Still determined not to give up,
08:14Andreas says that he will work until late
08:17and starts to spend his evenings in Hugo's room,
08:20making a bigger hole with various tools, hoping to escape.
08:23At first, Hugo is against it because he will catch them,
08:26but then the wonderful smell starts to come from the hole too,
08:29and Hugo decides to help.
08:31The hole eventually becomes a tunnel and Andreas and Hugo like to sit in it
08:35and drink coffee while listening to music
08:37and hear the incessant sound of children laughing.
08:39One morning, Andreas goes to work and finds out that he has been replaced with a new person.
08:43His boss tells him not to let him go, but wants to find a new career.
08:47However, when Andreas leaves the building, he sees the cleaners waiting for him in front.
08:52Not wanting to be caught, Andreas returns inside and goes out through the back door.
08:57Now, Andreas has all the time in the world to work in a tunnel that becomes so big
09:01that even the neighbors start to smell the incessant aroma and hear the music.
09:05They came to knock on Hugo's door, so he rejects them, saying that they are fixing the hole.
09:11But this causes the neighbors to gather behind the window.
09:14Eventually, they reach the end of the tunnel and break through the hole through the wall.
09:17Andreas throws his hand through the hole and she goes out into a beautiful, colorful, bright house
09:22with the sound of children playing outside, and whose sound echoes through the walls.
09:26Andreas waves his hand around and manages to catch something just baked in a cake,
09:30which he continues to eat, saying that it tastes too good.
09:34He loved the cake so much that he barely reacts when the cleaners come to take Hugo and him.
09:39A few moments later, Hugo is allowed to leave,
09:42but the cleaners take Andreas away to meet the city leaders,
09:45who tell them that the people there are happy and that he is proud of it.
09:49After that, an old man comes to pick up Andreas and a few cleaners in his car,
09:53while another group of cleaners locks the hole in the basement and cleans everything
09:57so that it looks like nothing happened.
09:59Andreas is taken to an abandoned gas station, and when the bus arrives to let a new person out,
10:04the cleaners put Andreas inside the room for things.
10:07While Andreas is taken away, life continues normally in the city.
10:10Both Anne and Ingeborg have new boys, and Hugo returns to his old job.
10:14After he gets used to his shaking, Andreas falls asleep inside the bus,
10:18not waking up until they finally disappear.
10:20He knocks on the door and goes outside, just to see that he is in a frozen desert.
10:25Then the bus leaves as soon as Andreas leaves, leaving him alone in the snowstorm.
