00:00Hello there. It was a bit of a chilly start this morning with overnight temperatures dropping
00:05as low as 1.1 degrees across parts of Cumbria. But looking at the bigger picture, we do have
00:12high pressure to the west of the UK, and that high pressure is bringing a good deal of dry
00:17and fine weather, especially across some western areas.
00:21So the best of any sunshine is really reserved for the west of the country. Further east
00:26we have a keen northerly wind, and that wind is pushing cloud in across the east coast,
00:31and we're also likely to see a few showers here and there.
00:36Temperatures today generally around average for the time of year, especially the further
00:39north you are, where we see those clearer and brighter skies, temperatures reaching
00:44highs of 21.
00:46So this evening that cloudy picture continues, although cloud breaking across some western
00:52areas. And later in the night we're likely to see a few showers move in across the east
00:57coast.
00:58A chilly night right the way across the country with temperatures into mid-single figures,
01:02perhaps a little bit lower in some rural spots with a risk of a grass frost.
01:07So tomorrow is a day of sunshine and showers, but those showers largely reserved for the
01:12further west you are, and during the course of the afternoon those showers breaking out
01:16a little bit more widely, and perhaps heavier across the south and west for a time.
01:21So a cooler day right the way across the country with highs of 17 for the south and
01:2613 and 14 for the north.
01:29And looking at the outlook period, so staying unsettled as we move into the new working
01:34week, with low pressure somewhere in the vicinity of the UK, so a good deal of cloud and showery
01:40outbreaks of rain in the mix, and temperatures disappointing.
