00:00Alright guys, I've been getting questions about the Galaxy Note 10 Plus here, so I wanted
00:04to go ahead and revisit this one for this mid-2024 here.
00:08Now this is still a very good flagship, but I think that if you are in the States, then
00:15you definitely don't want to buy this phone, because a lot of people are trying to buy
00:19these phones for SD card support.
00:21I think if you're going to buy this phone, you really need to look at the Galaxy Note
00:2720 Ultra, because if you really want SD card support, you can see the prices are pretty
00:34close.
00:35You can see $315 here, and then $279 here.
00:39And I think eBay has the lowest price at $250, but I still think if you pay an extra $50,
00:46I do think the Note 20 Ultra is going to be just a slightly better option, because it
00:50is still getting security updates, and then you also do have a couple other features that
00:56are a little bit more modern feeling, I guess.
01:00Now the Note 10 Plus, if you're overseas and this phone is in your price bracket, and you're
01:07looking at it because you just want SD card support, maybe you want the flagship features,
01:12then this is still a very interesting phone to look at.
01:15Now hardware wise, this phone is still a really great looking phone here.
01:20Just look at how amazing this phone still looks here in 2024.
01:24It's got the Aura Glow color design, it's just absolutely stunning here, and just very
01:32cool to look at.
01:33It's kind of a thinner phone here in 2024 as well too, compared to the newer phones.
01:39It's not as heavy, or as kind of bulky, because the camera's not poking out here.
01:47So it's one of those phones you can kind of like tap, you can kind of like type while
01:51flat and it's not going to be like bouncing.
01:55But yeah, hardware wise, still looks great, SD card support, of course, IP68, the stylus
02:02on here, and what's really cool is this one is blue here.
02:06But yeah, it still very much looks and feels very modern in 2024.
02:12It's a really nice looking phone.
02:14There's nothing really outdated about the Note's display besides a few minor things
02:19here.
02:20But overall, just looking at it today, it just looks absolutely fantastic.
02:25It's a beautiful panel, guys.
02:27So it's a 6.8 inch dynamic AMOLED display.
02:30It's full 1440p, and then it's 498 for the PPI, so it's a very sharp panel as well too.
02:36Really vibrant and nice colors on here.
02:39I think you could say the only things that I can tell that has age is indirect sunlight.
02:46Obviously it's not as bright as the newer phones, and then there's a lack of any type
02:50of high refresh rate on this phone as well too.
02:52It's just 60 hertz.
02:53While it is a very smooth 60 hertz, but yeah, you can definitely tell the difference from
02:58a phone with a high refresh rate.
03:00But besides that, I have zero complaints.
03:03I mean, the screen is absolutely beautiful color wise.
03:06Samsung is just, you know, they just do a fantastic job on the displays here.
03:12Also what you may like or may not like is that the Note 10 Plus is a curved panel,
03:18so I think it gives the phones here a more premium look in my opinion, but again, a lot
03:23of people don't like it because, you know, the screen protector situation, harder to
03:29put on and stuff like that.
03:31But besides that, the display is still just a very high quality panel here.
03:35So let's get into it.
03:36Let's talk about this processor.
03:38This has been one of the most interesting things I'd like to come back to.
03:41This phone got it's last update, Android 12, One UI 4.
03:46A lot of people say, Matt, how long are the apps going to be supported?
03:49Guys, the apps, basically almost all the apps still work on the Galaxy S9.
03:55Majority of the apps still work on the S8.
03:57Stuff like that.
03:58So app support will be supported for a long time, it's just not getting security updates.
04:03But let's go ahead and get into it here.
04:06So I ran the Wildlife Extreme Benchmark on here and you can see our frame rate.
04:11You can also see temperature.
04:13So that's a really cool thing about the Note 10+.
04:16This processor I do really like because it does not tend to get hot like a lot of phones
04:21do.
04:22You can see 34 Celsius to 35 Celsius.
04:25So this is just a very efficient chipset.
04:28Like I said, the 855 and the 865 are very efficient chipsets.
04:32I would say the 855 is a little bit more efficient.
04:35So when I say this phone really does not, you know, heat up like crazy, doesn't have
04:38overheating problems, does a pretty good job with gaming performance as well too.
04:43Here are your Geekbench scores if you guys want to compare those.
04:50And I think that's right.
04:51That should be right.
04:52Sometimes you got to run Geekbench like multiple times to get it right.
04:56But that should be the right scores and I'll take you guys into a game.
05:00The speakers on the Note 10 Plus actually still sound really great.
05:23Really good sound quality on here.
05:25Everything is crisp and clear on here.
05:28And I always forget to mention, I forgot when I was talking about the hardware.
05:32Don't forget about this Bixby button.
05:33The reason I forget about it is because it's completely, it's just not useful to me at
05:38all.
05:39Alright, so gaming performance on this phone is still pretty good for the most part.
05:45You can still play PUBG of course at HDR Extreme.
05:51So 60 frames.
05:53So I don't really have an issue with gaming performance on here.
05:56Now the base on the Note 10 Plus.
05:58What I like about this phone when it came out was that you have micro SD card support
06:02but the base is 256 gigs of internal storage and then you also have 12 gigs of RAM.
06:08So this phone is just a multitasking beast.
06:12It rarely like, I just don't have an issue with performance on here.
06:16That's something that I really liked about what Samsung was doing.
06:22I feel like all flagship models should base be 12 gigs of RAM.
06:27But as you guys can see, gaming no problem.
06:30No overheating.
06:31If it's hot outside and I'm recording with this phone, taking pictures, I don't get any
06:36overheating problems or anything like that.
06:38So I would say this is definitely, you know, an excellent chip.
06:42The fingerprint scanner on here, it is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner so it works
06:46really well.
06:47So no issues with that.
06:48You can also take advantage of face unlock as well too.
06:51And as far as your additional features, you will find pretty much everything you'll find
06:56in something like a Galaxy S24 Ultra besides the new Galaxy AI features and stuff like
07:02that.
07:03Alright so let's talk about the cameras guys.
07:06So the cameras have gotten much better on the newer phones but I would say in direct
07:11sunlight this phone still will take a pretty good shot.
07:15I did a, you know, like a day in the life with this phone as well too.
07:20And it did a fantastic job.
07:21Now the phone, it did struggle in like low light situations.
07:26I did notice it was just a little bit weaker for the most part in terms of, you know, giving
07:32you like, not to say that it was bad but you could kind of tell, lose a little bit of detail.
07:39It's not as sharp, not as, a little bit grainy.
07:42But in good lighting, this phone still takes fantastic photos and videos.
07:47I can't really say that the pictures are bad because it can still give you a really
07:52good shot.
07:53Really good colors, great dynamic range on here as well too.
07:57I was just impressed with how good the, you know, the photo quality was when I did take
08:02it with me.
08:03So I think this still takes excellent photos.
08:06I think the photos honestly speak for themselves.
08:10And that's pretty much any lens, ultra wide, you know, the telephoto lens on here does
08:15a pretty good job as well too.
08:17So I just think this is still, these are still fantastic cameras, yes.
08:21Are the newer Galaxy phones are going to give you better low light shots and overall just
08:24higher res, better photos, yes.
08:27But this still gives you a really good shot.
08:29You still have your pro mode, pro video mode and stuff like that.
08:33It's still a very good phone for taking pictures.
08:36And lastly, battery life is, it's just okay on the note.
08:39When I did take it on my, you know, day in the life thing, I find it hard to kind of
08:45kill the battery on here because, you know, I'm not really a heavy user.
08:50So I would say battery life is actually pretty decent if you're a light user, which means
08:54you're not really playing games, probably watching videos, texting, you know, web browsing,
09:00stuff like that.
09:01Take a couple pictures, you know, here and there.
09:04But if you're like a serious gamer, then yeah, you can really drain the battery on the note
09:08pretty easily.
09:09It's got a 4300 milliamp hour battery.
09:12And pretty decent charging speeds as well to 45 watts, which is actually pretty nice.
09:17And then wireless and reverse wireless charging.
09:19So let me know what you guys think of the note and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
