00:00What's up guys, so today I want to do a little quick comparison of the S22
00:04Versus the S21 and talk about the differences
00:08So if you live in the United States, I would say just to get the S22
00:12Um, there are a couple of benefits and plus it's only 50 dollars more and you will get you know
00:19Longer software updates and there's a few other things here as well, too
00:23Um, but as you can see if you can spend, you know, just 50 more bucks and get the S22 amazon ebay
00:30Um now if you live overseas, I understand that there is probably a bigger price gap
00:34Um, so you might be looking at the S21
00:37And trying to figure out well, you know, do I really need to spend that extra money or will you just be satisfied?
00:43You know with the S21. Do you really need to spend some extra money to get the S22?
00:47So let's go ahead and talk about this. All right hardware wise, uh, there is a kind of a big difference here
00:53So the S22 has a glass back and the S21 has a plastic back
00:59Uh on it. So the S22 feels a little bit more premium. They both have that matte, uh finish to them as well, too
01:06Which is really nice and they both have pretty much the same camera cut out
01:11As well, too. One thing I noticed with the hardware here is that the S21 is a little bit taller, uh than the uh,
01:19S22
01:21But I think the S22 is a little bit just a tad bit thicker
01:26just by a little bit and also, um
01:29The S22 weighs a little bit more because it has that that metal back
01:34Um, even though the S21 actually has a bigger battery
01:38So you would think it would weigh more at the uh, 4000 milliamp battery
01:42But this one has a 3700 milliamp hour battery and um, but it's just that metal makes it feel a little bit heavier
01:49Um, but yeah, those are the essential hardware differences again. Not really too much
01:54Uh, you do have ip68 dust and water resistant on both of these as well
01:58Another kind of interesting thing that samsung did here with the displays is that the S21 actually has a slightly bigger display
02:05It's a six point
02:07Uh two inch display and the S22 has a 6.1 inch display
02:12So it is a little bit bigger again, not, you know, crazy noticeable not that big of a deal
02:16But that is something that I thought was you know, a little bit strange. I think they went backwards on the display size here
02:23Um, but yeah, so you have the dynamic amoled display on both of these
02:27120 hertz hdr 10 plus is on both of these as well, too
02:31They have the same uh brightness as well the same max brightness at 1300 nits
02:36And then you also have a 1080p display with a 400 plus ppi
02:41So very good displays on both of these phones. Like I said, they're pretty much identical in terms of
02:47You know max brightness quality
02:50There's really not that big of a difference besides this very minor display size. So not too much going on with the displays
02:56Uh when it comes to you know comparing them do want to talk about the software because this is a pretty big thing here
03:03so
03:04The both of these phones are running android 14 when you're at 6.1
03:08The last major update for the S21 is going to be android 15. You are going to get more
03:15android updates with the
03:17S22 so you will get
03:20The ai features as well too on the S22 as well
03:24So if you go to advanced features, this has pretty much all the ai features that you got on the galaxy s24
03:30so this was a pretty big update for
03:33Uh older samsung phones so you have you know, you can just look at my video I did on it
03:39But there's quite a bit going on here with the ai stuff. The only ai feature that the s21 got was the circle to search
03:46Uh, but that's it. It didn't get any of the advanced intelligence
03:49feature so
03:51Definitely that could be a big deciding factor
03:54Whether you want to save your money up and you know, enjoy the the galaxy ai features
04:00So that's definitely something you have to think about
04:02Um, but as far as the overall experience you still pretty much have essentially the same stuff here as far as the software desktop support
04:10You know secure folders
04:12Everything else is going to be on here software wise for the most part besides those ai features now the processors on these two phones
04:20so
04:21the
04:22S22 has the snapdragon 8 gen 1 128 gigs of internal storage 8 gigs of ram
04:28You have the snapdragon triple a processor on the s21
04:32128 gigs and 8 gigs of ram as you can see the score difference is not much
04:39um
04:40Yeah, there's not much going on with the score difference. It's very it's only a one gen, you know upgrade
04:46And um, yeah, that's why I don't I don't really pay too much attention to benchmarks now
04:50A lot of people want to know about do these phones overheat and do they crash and stuff like that?
04:56These phones do not really
04:58I don't have a problem with like overheating and stuff like that because i'm not like a very heavy user
05:03I'm not doing like heavy heavy stuff on my phones, but these phones
05:07Yeah, they will get a little bit warmer than I would like i've never had the crashing issues
05:12But even with the the agent one the triple a
05:15Uh, they they are going to get warm regardless
05:17So it doesn't matter if which one you buy these phones are going to get warm
05:22But it depends on how you use the phone if you're in the camera a lot
05:25You know, you're shooting 4k video or you're doing like some intense stuff, uh on your phone. Uh, then yeah
05:31um
05:32They're going to get a little bit warm for sure. But like I said, i've never had an issue with performance on these phones
05:38Um, so yeah, so I can't really say
05:41You know that they're going to crash and stuff like that because I just haven't had that issue
05:45And the one ui 6.1 update definitely has helped quite a bit
05:50Um with standby time on these phones as well too and performance as well performance on these phones has gotten
05:56Really good with just the the one ui 6 update general animations. Everything is just super smooth there
06:02uh, so the gaming performance, like I said
06:05You can't really go wrong with either of these phones, obviously the s22 is the more powerful phone as far as benchmarks go
06:12Uh, but when you're actually in the game playing it, there's not really a real difference with performance
06:18um
06:19Like I said, they both will get a little bit warm
06:24But it's not really that big of a deal
06:28If anything, well, yeah, no
06:31Yeah
06:32But you can see they're both playing at pubg at 90 frames and this is across the board call of duty
06:37Fortnite, whatever you pretty much play. These phones are extremely similar in terms of
06:42Performance for the most part for the average person. You really won't notice
06:46That much of a difference when it comes to a performance here
06:50Let's check out these speakers at max volume. See if we have any type of upgrade
06:55Start with the s21
07:01So
07:21Yeah, they pretty much sound identical so no real upgrade when it comes to speakers
07:26They both have the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner as well, too
07:29So they're both pretty fast when it comes
07:32uh to
07:33You know unlocking your phone. So no difference there
07:37The biggest difference you'll see with these two phones. I think is actually with the cameras
07:42So the s21 has a 12 megapixel standard a 64 megapixel telephoto
07:47three times hybrid zoom and then you also have a
07:5012 megapixel ultra wide it shoots an ak24 and then a 10 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4k 60
07:57The s22 has a 50 megapixel standard lens 10 megapixel telephoto with three times optical
08:0412 megapixel ultra wide with ak24 as well
08:08With a 10 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4k 60. So let me know if you guys see the actual difference here when it comes to
08:15the photos
08:27So
08:57So
09:27So
09:57So
10:12It comes to battery life on these two phones
10:16So battery life is just kind of average on these two phones. I wouldn't really say
10:22The s22 is significantly better
10:24Um, these phones are okay if you are, you know a lighter user you can definitely get through the day with these phones
10:31Um, but if you're doing a little bit more intense stuff like taking a lot of photos videos
10:36These are phones that you definitely are going to have to charge for sure
10:40Um, so the s22 has a 3700 milliamp hour battery 25 watt charging
10:44You have wireless and reverse wireless charging. The s21 has a 4000 milliamp also with 25 watt charging
10:52Also the wireless and reverse wireless charging so again my battery experience hasn't really been that
10:58Drastically better if you're looking for like a smaller phone with really good battery
11:03You would have to really save your money and upgrade to the s23 because that's where you'll see
11:09A significant difference in terms of screen on time
11:13But uh, yeah, these phones do okay when it comes to the battery life. So that is pretty much it
11:18I think if you can afford the s22, I think you should definitely go ahead
11:23Uh and get it because um, I think it's just a it's a good phone to have the ai features and the extra
11:30software update as well, too
11:32Um, so yeah, so definitely if you can get it for extra 50 bucks get it
11:37But if uh, you can afford the s21 and you're not really that impressed with the s22
11:42I would say get this phone. You still get android 15. It's still overall solid phone
11:46So let me know what you guys think what are you guys gonna do and i'll catch you guys in the next one
