00:00So guys, we are back with another comparison,
00:02the A55 versus the S21 FE.
00:05Very interesting comparison here.
00:07So if you're in the marketplace for a new device,
00:10which one should you get?
00:11So you guys already know I'm a big fan of the S21 FE,
00:15so I do wanna go ahead and talk about why I like it.
00:17But there are some things about the A55
00:19that you might like.
00:20All right, so let's go ahead and get started.
00:22Let's talk about the actual price,
00:24because that's a big thing here.
00:25The S21 FE, if you pick it up
00:27in the used refurbished marketplace,
00:29like the one I have here,
00:30it is gonna be around 200 bucks.
00:32You can find this on Amazon, eBay.
00:34And then the A55, I got off of Amazon as well.
00:37And this one is around 400 bucks brand new.
00:42So let's go ahead and talk about the hardware.
00:45So Samsung has gone with pretty much a premium design
00:47on the A55 here.
00:50It does have a glass back now,
00:52so it kinda gives it a flagship feel.
00:53It's IP67 dust and water resistant.
00:56And then it's very sharp on the edges,
00:58so I don't think it's as comfortable as the S21 FE,
01:01which has a more smoother edges for sure here.
01:05But it does have that more premium feel,
01:07since it does have that glass back now.
01:10And then you also do have on the S21 FE,
01:13it's got a plastic back.
01:15And then it does have metal sides,
01:17but this one is IP68 dust and water resistant.
01:20So it does have a better IP rating than the A55 as well.
01:24But as far as the hardware,
01:26I think that the S21 FE definitely feels better
01:29and it has a better water resistant.
01:31But the A55, it definitely looks better.
01:34It has the more, I guess, modern design from Samsung.
01:37And like I said, it feels better, right?
01:40It has a glass design on it,
01:42so it kinda feels a little bit more luxury, right?
01:45But besides that, not too much of a difference
01:48going on with the hardware.
01:49Now a big difference between these two devices
01:52is that the S21 FE has no SD card support,
01:56and the A55 has SD card support.
01:58So that's a big thing here for a lot of people.
02:00If you download a lot of content
02:02and you feel like you need expandable storage,
02:04you take a lot of video,
02:05then the A55 is definitely gonna be able to
02:09pop an SD card in there
02:10and then you'll have expandable storage.
02:13All right, so let's talk about the displays here.
02:15So the S21 FE has a smaller 6.4 inch display.
02:20It's the dynamic AMOLED, 120 hertz,
02:22HDR10+, 1080p, 403 for the PPI.
02:26The A55 does have a bigger display at 6.6 inches,
02:30and it is also a 120 hertz Super AMOLED display,
02:34HDR10+, 1080p, 390 for the PPI.
02:38So the biggest thing that stood out to me
02:41with the displays is that the S21 FE
02:44just looks way more vibrant and colorful.
02:47It almost makes the A55 look dull in comparison,
02:50if you guys can see, they're both on vivid.
02:53Yeah, it just looks dull in comparison.
02:57So I definitely think the screen
02:59just looks much better on the S21 FE.
03:01Now, as far as the resolution and all that stuff,
03:04it pretty much looks the same,
03:05but yeah, the colors just come out
03:07way more vibrant on the S21 FE.
03:09And you also will notice that the S21 FE
03:12has slimmer bezels up top,
03:14and it is slightly slimmer at the bottom.
03:16You can't really tell as much as up top.
03:19But that's one of the things I noticed right off rip.
03:22But as far as displays go,
03:24I would definitely pick the S21 FE.
03:26I think it's more pleasing to the eye
03:28as far as the bezels and just the overall color on the panel.
03:33So that's one thing
03:34that actually kind of surprised me a little bit.
03:36All right, so we got Geekbench 6 pulled up here.
03:38The A55, it does have the Exynos 1480 on here.
03:42And again, micro SD card, 128 gigs of internal storage,
03:45and eight gigs of RAM.
03:47On the base model, the S21 FE here,
03:49it does also have Android 14.
03:51And then we have the Snapdragon AAA processor.
03:54And then again, no SD card, 128 gigs and six gigs of RAM
03:58on the base.
03:59You can see the S21 FE, it does beat it in the single core
04:03and also the multi-core.
04:05A score here, the Exynos chip actually did a pretty good job
04:08and did better than I thought it was gonna do with the score.
04:12But when it comes to overall animations and stuff like that,
04:15I do think the S21 FE is definitely a little bit smoother.
04:19It's not to say that the A55 is slow or anything like that.
04:22I just noticed less animation glitches and stuff like that
04:26with the S21 FE.
04:29So I do think that having a higher processor
04:31does come in handy for just loading up a lot of stuff
04:34and the phone remaining a little bit smoother.
04:37But if we do go into just a little bit of app loading,
04:42I feel like they're both pretty much on par.
04:44Like I said, it's pretty impressive.
04:45The Exynos processor, for the most part,
04:48is doing a good job when it comes to general performance
04:51when launching applications.
04:54Into YouTube.
04:55So you guys can see it's really on par.
05:06Now let's go ahead and launch PUBG here
05:10and we'll talk about gaming a little bit.
05:13All right, so when it comes to gaming,
05:16the S21 FE, it does do a pretty good job
05:18when it comes to gaming performance.
05:20You actually will get better settings on the S21 FE.
05:23Unfortunately, there's no 90 frames for this phone.
05:26Yet it hasn't had the optimization update.
05:29But it's very smooth and gaming performance is excellent,
05:33especially for the price, again,
05:35that you get this phone for.
05:37Now the A55 does a pretty good job
05:40with gaming as well, too.
05:41You're just not gonna get the best settings.
05:43You have smooth extreme, but as we can see,
05:46there's no HDR extreme like you can get on the S21 FE.
05:50So you will just have overall just better settings
05:52thanks to that Snapdragon processor.
05:55But again, if you're a casual gamer,
05:56you don't really game that much,
05:58this will be fine playing PUBG, Call of Duty Mobile.
06:01Like I said, you won't get the best settings,
06:03but it is definitely playable.
06:05But if you're a more competitive gamer,
06:08I would definitely get the S21 FE.
06:11Now let's talk about additional features here.
06:14One thing about the S21 FE is,
06:16since it is pretty much a flagship device,
06:19you have things like Samsung desktop support
06:21and you have reverse wireless charging
06:23and wireless charging.
06:25So with the A55, there's no Samsung desktop support,
06:28there's no wireless charging,
06:29and of course no reverse wireless charging.
06:32So that's kind of like a perk of getting
06:34kind of like a flagship device like the S21 FE.
06:37There's also one thing that I noticed here,
06:39and I don't know what's up,
06:40I usually never have this issue,
06:41but so what's going on here is that
06:44the fingerprint scanner, and I re-registered it,
06:47it's just not as smooth or as fast as other Samsung phones.
06:52Like this one, like you really have to
06:54kind of apply pressure to it.
06:56I've noticed like it just doesn't register
06:58as well as other ones.
06:59So that's something I've noticed,
07:01I've rarely ever had that problem.
07:02This is the first phone where I have had that problem.
07:06I wonder if it can be fixed with a software update,
07:08but it just, it's very inconsistent.
07:10And even if you, like you have to press down really hard.
07:13So they're both optical,
07:14but this one is not performing like it should.
07:19Let's check out these speakers at max volume,
07:21we'll start with the S21.
07:23♪ Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey ♪
07:29♪ Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey ♪
07:34♪ Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey ♪
07:39So, I actually do think the A55 here has, it's very slight, but it has the cleaner
08:07and slightly louder speaker as well too.
08:09So, I'm very impressed with the speakers on the A55 this year.
08:12Now, let's go ahead and talk about the cameras on these two devices here.
08:18So, with the S21 FE, it does have a 12 megapixel standard, an 8 megapixel telephoto with three
08:24times optical, and a 12 megapixel ultrawide.
08:27It shoots in 4K60 on the front and back, and has a 32 megapixel selfie cam.
08:32The A55, it does have a 50 megapixel standard, a 12 megapixel ultrawide, it has no telephoto
08:39lens, but it does have a macro lens on here as well.
08:43It's 5 megapixels, and then it can only shoot in 4K30 on the front and back.
08:48And then on the front, you do have a 32 megapixel selfie as well.
08:51So, you do get slightly better specs on the S21 FE as far as video recording in 60 frames
08:58at 4K, and then you also get the telephoto lens as well too, which the A55 lacks.
09:04But check out these side-by-side stills, let me know what you guys think.
09:27Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video.
09:57Peace out.
10:27Now, from just using these two phones, the S21 FE, surprisingly, you would think it does
10:40not have good battery life, but this phone does really well with battery life.
10:44It's got a 4500 milliamp hour battery, 25 watt charging, and then wireless and reverse
10:49wireless charging.
10:50I actually did think the battery life is pretty good on this phone, it definitely lasts all
10:54day.
10:55It does have a slightly bigger battery on the A55, it's a 5000 milliamp hour battery
11:00with 25 watt charging, but the thing with the A55 is that there's no, again, wireless
11:05charging or anything like that.
11:07So I do think the battery life is slightly better on the A55, but I don't think it's
11:12that much better.
11:14It's not like a night and day difference.
11:17So, I personally, I like the S21 FE here a little bit more, but I can definitely see
11:21why you guys might like the A55, like I said, but you're going to be spending 200 extra
11:26bucks when you can get, you know, use refurbished one and save 200 bucks and actually get a
11:33little bit more features.
11:34So, let me know what you guys think, I'll catch you guys in the next one.
