00:00Family food packs have been added to the Bicol Region, Department of Social Welfare and Development or DSWD.

00:06Relief assistance has been assured in front of Bantan, a new time zone that is possible to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

00:24That is what the government gave in front of the lack of action due to the effects of Hurricane Christine.

00:33According to DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian-Joshua, more than 170,000 family food packs were prepositioned in Bicol before the storm entered the country.

00:44And now, more than 121,000 FFPs are still living on the ground and they are continuing their distribution to the local governments that are severely affected by the storm.

00:56However, Joshua, the government will not wait for the supply of FFPs to be depleted there.

01:02That is why now, additional 100,000 family food packs are being sent to the Bicol Region.

01:08That is why, if there is an emergency, the affected residents will be able to receive help.

01:15Before we felt the effects of Hurricane Christine, our national stockpile, the family food packs that are distributed to all of our warehouses across the country, was less than 2 million pieces.

01:30Now, in the morning, I don't know if they can just flash the data, we have 1.982600 million family food packs.

01:40It was reduced from yesterday to today because we are releasing them.

01:44So, we're all ready.

01:46In fact, I talked to Mayor Legasion yesterday.

02:16Once the residents are able to enter their homes after the storm and realize the extent of the damage,

02:23the DSWD will enter again to extend financial assistance, together with DSUD, to repair, rehabilitate their homes and properties that may have been damaged.

02:33Once the affected people enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the DSWD is ready for this.

02:45We have stockpiles also in Mindanao and Eastern Visayas.

02:52Those remain intact and we continuously produce goods out of our Cebu Processing Center.

02:57If we can remember, there are two repacking centers in the country.

03:01In Pasay is the National Resource Center and in Visayas, in Cebu, is the one for Visayas and Mindanao.

03:08There are plans, part of the anticipatory action to build one starting next year.

03:12The third one that we will put in Caraga, in Butuan.

03:15That will serve the Mindanao and the Eastern Seaboard of Visayas-Mindanao that's very prone to typhoon.

03:23The OCD, Joshua, is already on red alert for quick action on the typhoon.

03:28They are already planting the needed rubber boats in Bicol, particularly in Naga.

03:33The government's priority is also the rescue operations.

03:36The OCD sees that the resources are sufficient but the flood level is still high in some places.

03:42That's why the OCD has deployed some equipment from the Southern Luzon Command of AFP

03:48to augment the operations carried out by the local government.

03:55As we speak, Secretary Teodoro is already collecting the commitments through the J3.

04:06We also have 17 air assets that are prepositioned in Villamore, in Cebu,

04:13which are readily deployable, weather permitting,

04:16because we have to be sure that our pilots, our assets are safe.
