00:00So whenever I look at their eyes, I don't see dogs.
00:10I see souls in their eyes.
00:13I talk to them like human beings and then, kya'ti hindi naman sila nagsasalita na nafifil
00:18ko yung love nila for me.
00:20I thank God for giving me my dogs.
00:24Because of them, nagkuran ako ng direction.
00:27So naisipan ko na, ay ganito pala, dapat yung pera, hindi basta-basta waldas lang.
00:32Dapat may napupuntahan.
00:33And this is the best decision I've ever done in my life, yung kumuha ng bahay.
00:37Sarili na naming place, wala namang papalayas na kahit na sinong landlord or landlady sa
00:43amin.
00:44I'm Jerry Tubo, 35 years old, a fur parent from Santa Maria, Bulacan.
00:57I've been a fur parent for five years now, and matagal na akong mahilig sa dog since
01:14I was a kid.
01:15Kasi I was raised by my parents na nag-aalaga talaga kami ng dog.
01:18So sa province, meron kaming isang dog.
01:21And then after nun, matagal akong hindi nagkaroon ng dog.
01:24So until 2019, when I met my ex.
01:29So when we met, dinalan niya na sa bahay ko yung dog niya, kasi parang agad-agad yun
01:36e.
01:37Tumira kami sa isang bahay agad.
01:38So dinalan niya sa akin yung dog niya, and then napamahal na rin sa akin, so parang naging
01:44parent na rin ako ng dog until such time na nagkaroon siya ng sarili niyang place.
01:51Ako yung nag-insist na ipastad ko yung dog niya, yung pinakaunang dog.
01:57And then ngayon, meron siyang apat.
02:00So yung isa pinamigay namin sa fur dad, and then yung dalawa napunta sa amin dito.
02:09Meron pa siyang dalawang biniling may lahing mga dog.
02:13So nung naghiwalay kami, dinalan niya yung dalawang may lahing.
02:16Tapos naiwan sa akin yung panganay na aso.
02:20And then ako na nagtuloy kasi ang gusto niyong mangyari, iuwi niya sa provinsya nila.
02:26So kahit alam kong mahirap magkaroon ng maraming dogs, it's a responsibility, pero insist ko
02:32pa rin na ako na lang yung mag-alaga nung dog niya, at ituloy ko na lang kasi mahirap
02:37yung baka siya mapabayaan doon, din dumagtag pa siya sa magiging stray dogs.
02:42So yun yung ayokong mangyari kasi technically sa akin na rin lumaki yung dog kahit hindi
02:46naman ako yung unang bumili sa kanya.
02:53In 2020, naisipan na namin humanap ng iba pang apartment nung nasa Kainta pa ako.
02:59Unfortunately, lahat na lang na mapagtanungan ko, kahit malaki naman yung place, handa naman
03:05akong magbayad ng may kamahalan kasi nga may mga dogs.
03:09Ayaw talaga nilang tanggapin kasi may mga dogs nga.
03:11Kahit isa pa lang yung dog ko noon, isa pa lang yung dog namin, ayaw kami tanggapin.
03:16So yun yung naging struggle ko, kahit saan ako magpunta walang tumatanggap.
03:19So kung meron mong tumatanggap ng pet, usually may nauna na sa amin.
03:23So ang pinaka naging turning point talaga na kung bakit naisipan ko na talaga kumuha
03:28nung bahay is nung binaha kami 2020, bumagyo kasi noon e, November of 2020, hindi ko yung
03:35makakalimutan sa Kainta na hanggang leeg yung tubig at lahat ng dogs ko binuhat ko talaga
03:42sila. Kahit naiwan ko na yung mga damit noon na lumubog na sa baa. So bit-bit ko silang
03:47lahat, isa-isa akong binuhat papunta doon sa may mababaw na lugar and kaya nandito ako
03:51sa bahay na ito, it's because of them. Naisip ko na pumuha ng sarili kong place talaga,
03:58which is malaya ako na mag-alaga ng dogs. Tapos hindi na kami irereklamo ng may-ari ng
04:04bahay at hindi na kami papaalisin kasi nga may mga dogs ako.
04:13Dalawa kami parents ng mga dogs namin. So, syempre, the only constant in this world is change.
04:20So, siguro yung love niya for me nag-change na gano'n. So, yung time na yun talaga super
04:26hurt ako. It was one of the darkest parts of my life. When I was there, my dogs were staring at me
04:33and then narealize ko, no, sabi ko, diba ako pwede ko magkaroon ng maraming property, I can have a
04:39house. So, I have so many things in my life, but for my dogs, I'm the only one for them,
04:43diba? So, sino pa yung hahanap ng paraan para sa kanila? So, ako pasig, ginawa ko lahat ng best
04:52spot to give them the best place to live, itong house na ito. So, ayun, sabi ko, silang reason.
05:01So, andito na ako, malayo na ako. So, ba't ako mag-stop dito, diba? Sabi ko, ano, talaga,
05:08tutuloy ko yung buhay kahit gaano kahirap. The entire 2023 was the most difficult part of my life,
05:16but it's because of my dogs. I'm still here. Nagagawa ko naman ng paraan yung mga challenges.
05:23So, hindi ko nga maintindihan. So, bakit, Lord, bakit I'm still standing? I'm surviving? Sabi ko,
05:31parang si Lord sumasagot siya indirectly sa akin, pero napatingin ako sa mga dogs ko.
05:36Parang sinasabi ni Lord sa akin, sila yung dahilan. Kaya ako binigay sila sa iyo kasi may mangyayari
05:42sa iyong mabigat, tapos sila yung mag-help sa iyo. So, ayun, I'm very grateful. They saved me.
05:55Whenever I look at their eyes, I don't see dogs. I see souls in their eyes. I talk to them like
06:03human beings. Kaya hindi naman sila nagsasalita na nafe-feel ko yung love nila for me. That's why
06:09naisipan ko to inspire other fur parents na maraming paraan. Kagaya ko, hindi naman ako mapera,
06:16pero pinilit ko. Pinilit ko na maghanap ng sarili ko talagang place kasi ayokong ma-abandon yung
06:22mga dogs. So, ang daming mga heartbreaking na mga posts ng mga fur parents sa same group
06:28kasi I've been a member na for a long time. Naha-hurt ako na may mga fur parents na kumuha
06:34ng pets kasi cute. Nung lumaki na, ayaw na nila. Tapos, nung lumipat, in-abandon yung dog. So,
06:41yun naging purpose ko na marami tayong pwedeng gawing paraan para wala ng dogs na ma-abandon
06:47at wala nang maging stray dogs in the future. Sa umpisa pa lang bago ka kumuha, isipin mo muna
06:52kung kaya ko ba. Kung masustain ko ba ang pagdodog kasi hindi talaga sya biro. It's like having
06:58kids. Ganon po siya.
07:04Being a fur parent, super laki ng impact sa buhay ko kasi before ako nagkaroon ng dogs, parang
07:11wala akong direction. So, upa lang, ganon, tapos labas-labas with friends. Yung mga dogs ko nagpa-realize
07:17sa akin na dapat maging focus ako sa buhay ko. Tapos, yung mga perang kinikita ko, natutunan ko
07:25ng ipunin kasi may responsibilidad na ako and itong bahay ko papagandahin ko sya unti-unti. Parang
07:31nagkaroon ako ng direction sa buhay ko. So, every time na nahihiga ako tas di pa ko inaantok,
07:38the first thing I do is to thank God kasi without the dogs siguro hanggang ngayon wala pa akong kahit
07:43na anong ari-arian. Kahit ito kasi pinakauna kong napuntar. So, I thank God for giving me my dogs
07:51because of them nagkaroon ako ng direction. So, naisipan ko na ay ganito pala dapat yung pera
07:58hindi basta-basta waldas lang. So, dapat may napupuntahan and this is the best decision I've ever
08:04done in my life. Yung kumuha ng bahay, sarili na naming place, wala namang papalayas na kahit na
08:09sinong landlord or landlady sa amin. I believe na bawat isa sa atin meron tayong mga pinagdadaanan.
08:19We have our own battles. So, but we have our different ways on how to cope with those battles.
08:26But for me, the best na weapons natin against mental health problems, magkaroon tayo ng pets,
08:36magkaroon tayo ng family, but it doesn't necessarily mean na kumuha tayo. Hindi pa rin yung kasi it's
08:43a responsibility. Make sure na kaya natin silang i-sustain kasi hindi talaga biro magkaroon ng pets.
08:49Hindi biro, but it's worth it. Ang payo ko lang, i-assess muna natin ang mga self natin kung
08:56kaya ba. Because it's just like what I said, it's not easy. Napaka pricey, magastos,
09:02and it takes too much of your time talaga.
09:07Naniniwala na ako ngayon, it sounds cliche, but it's true na hindi ka bibigyan ng lord ang
09:13problema ng hindi mo kaya. Kasi ako, I was there firsthand and it's my firsthand experience na
09:20I thought I couldn't make it, but I did. So I'm here, look at me, hindi pa to success,
09:28but I'm almost there. I'm winning every day. So just be kind to animals, not only sa dogs,
09:35but to all animals like mga pets, like cats and other animals around us. Kung hindi natin sila
09:41kayang pakainin or hindi natin sila kayang ikup-kup, at least huwag na lang natin silang
09:46saktan. So that's the best thing that we can do as human beings.
