00:00I'm reacting to the story over the weekend that
00:03so Jerome or deleted 52 text messages from Connor Stallions
00:07and we await the word on on what is in those messages and
00:10there is surely going to be released at sometime here sometime
00:14here soon and by all accounts, Michigan wants them released
00:19because they say there's no tie in between Sharon and any
00:23sign-stealing, but you know, we'll wait that that evidence
00:29and see what comes out of it with that said this morning ESPN
00:33there was there was Paul Feinbaum and Pete Thamel will start
00:39with Paul Feinbaum was asked how big of a deal he thought
00:43this was this latest layer in the story and here's what he
00:47said this morning on get up.
01:29So what's interesting about that is I wonder how Michigan
01:42fans feel about it.
01:43First of all, you're probably surprised that Feinbaum said
01:46that but it because Feinbaum throughout this entire thing
01:51has not said anything like that in any way that was, you
01:56know, not salacious when it comes to this story, but do fans
02:03want Michigan to fight this tooth and nail?
02:05I've talked to people on the Michigan side that are that
02:09are in the fight at camp and people are on the look negotiate
02:14a solution to move on camp and the solution might include
02:18some punishment.
02:18I don't know how fans feel about it.
02:20I I tend to be a negotiate solutions and move on but I'm not
02:23a I'm not a crisis management guy.
02:25That's always been my thought on how you should handle these
02:27things.
02:27I imagine that there's a group of perhaps a large group of people
02:32that say just protect the national championship.
02:35And if you've given Feinbaum says that all lawyers say that
02:39then, you know, they're not going to lose a national championship
02:41because of what they said at the time that they wanted, you
02:44know, fair and square or whatever the phrasing was.
02:49I mean, I think because it was punishment in the immediate
02:53wake of of of the discovery of this, right?
02:57So once that happened, every team was on notice, I guess and
03:01then you move on from that point in the season.
03:03They went out and won their toughest games of the season and
03:06end up winning the national championship.
03:08So it's at that point, it feels like from, you know, whatever
03:12it was week four or week five on that.
03:17They they feel like everything is above ground or above board
03:20that you can't get them for anything like that.
03:22Then so be it.
03:23So you're protecting the championship, but you can't ignore
03:26what happened prior to that.
03:28I don't think they're going to lose a national championship.
03:30I don't think that's going to happen at all.
03:31And isn't that the one thing you're protecting?
03:35Well, I don't think you want postseason bands or NCAA.
03:40You don't want playoff bands, but there's question about whether
03:42the NCAA can even do that.
03:44I was gonna say does even seem I don't this doesn't seem like
03:48something that would push him in that direction.
03:50Yet unless there's unless there's a mountain of evidence that
03:55that would would suggest otherwise, but right now it doesn't
03:58seem like that's coming out like they're not holding back and
04:00saying, oh, we got a whoop.
04:02Wait, do you see who we got over here?
04:04You're not going to believe it, right?
04:06It doesn't seem like that's the case.
04:07It just kind of like, you know, almost like a clerical thing.
04:11They just let's just well, it's a proceed.
04:12I mean what what more did is a procedural violation and it
04:17should be taken seriously.
04:18But it if the again, if the text we're going to have to use
04:21that a lot if the text message is clear him of knowing what
04:24Conor Stearns was up to then.
04:27Yeah, you're right.
04:28But I like one of the first champ at shovel to come in champ
04:30of the weekend.
04:30Scotty Scheffler Chump, Michigan football.
04:32The sooner, you know, I'll own up to it.
04:34The sooner you can move on quit delaying the inevitable.
04:36That's where I wonder where fans are is do you just say, okay
04:40NCAA let's negotiate a punishment or I mean fine.
04:44I'm there suggesting that they could lawyer up and win this
04:46thing and I don't know.
04:48Well, that makes it that makes it long and protracted and
04:53was he suggesting they get lawyer up and win this thing.
04:55If it comes to them having to vacate the national championship.
04:58That's what I took it.
04:59Now, what could happen is it because of the stallion stuff
05:03because it was more.
05:04It wasn't like a one-off.
05:05I mean this was going on over a couple years and if they have
05:08that evidence to show it what could happen is that they may
05:12have to vacate wins from prior seasons.
05:15And though that's painful in the end, you know time goes by
05:20people don't care anymore because you get you played the games
05:22you saw them win and doesn't matter what you know what somebody
05:25says after the fact even though initially it's going to hurt
05:28if that's the case if they have to go back and vacate prior
05:31win. All right.
05:32So Pete Damon was on the story was asked what he thinks going
05:35to come out of this and here's what he said this morning on
05:37get up.
05:44I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going
05:46to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead
05:47and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going
05:48to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead
05:49and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going
05:50to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead
05:51and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going
05:52to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead
05:53and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going
05:54to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead
05:55and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going
05:56to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead
06:17and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and I'm going
06:47in an effort to move on from this but I and I I know what Matt because look
06:52I've seen the gamut here from fans, all right of what they want Michigan to do. I'm a get to the
06:57end of it quickly guy, always have been, that means I'm more inclined to say take the suspension
07:02but I'm not a CRISIS management expert, you know, I do know this there was a rollover with a with a
07:09Fort Explorer that happened in a like in January of whatever year it was, 92
07:15And it felt like it was 1998 before that story was done and it hung over the program forever
07:23so
07:24in retrospect should they have been done something there to try and expedite that process and I
07:30These are challenging issues where there you know there's a lot of smart people at U of M that can can make these decisions, but
07:37Do fans want to see them just accept a suspension or fight it more?
07:43So I don't know that that's that's the crux of the issue I see for for Michigan fans
07:49How do you want them to approach it?
07:51And I mean there's some people might say just take your medicine. Could you deserve it?
07:54Oh, I mean obviously everybody has to find out what they're dealing with first. Yep, and
07:58What what is the evidence? What is the suggested?
08:02Punishment before you can really kind of react on that, but I mean if it is a modest one-game suspension
08:08I don't think anybody would have an issue with that or not too many people would have an issue with that if it goes
08:13Beyond that if you get into that second game, which is Texas's second game, right?
08:17Yeah, then I think some fans would be like ooh that could hurt. I understand. I mean I know your feelings
08:23We've done this show together for over 17 years
08:25I know exactly how you feel about this stuff, and you want to get it out of the way
08:28But I think there's a lot of people that might have an issue
08:31If this is something you could fight and avoid
08:33Not having to sit out for the second game against Texas. Well, Michigan fans, how do you feel? 2 4 8 5 3 9 97 97
