00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest Met Office forecast. It remains unsettled. Over the next
00:0624 hours, some torrential downpours, thunderstorms in places, all thanks to this area of low
00:11pressure which is just anchored over England and Wales over the next 24 hours. However,
00:16we do see a change in our weather as we go through next week. The wind has turned more
00:20to a northerly direction, introducing some quite cold air for the time of year, perhaps
00:24even some sleet or snow over the highest tops of the Scottish mountains. For Saturday afternoon,
00:31best of the sunshine once again, just like yesterday across parts of Scotland, Northern
00:36Ireland, perhaps North West England as well. Here, the temperature is rising to around
00:4025, possibly 26 Celsius. Generally, cloudier across England and Wales. Best of the sunshine
00:46across parts of East Anglia, perhaps northern parts of London into the East Midlands as
00:51well. But under this cloud, we'll see some outbreaks of rain, one or two heavier bursts
00:55possible across the West Midlands into Wales and also some heavy showery rain across southern
01:00coasts of England through the afternoon as well. Temperatures under the cloud around
01:0419 to 22, possibly 23 Celsius in the sunshine towards the southeast, but it will be across
01:10western parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland seeing today's highest temperatures. As we
01:15head through into the evening time, turning increasingly unsettled as that low pressure
01:19establishes itself across England and Wales, some hefty downpours developing, torrential
01:24rain, some thunderstorms, some lightning hail in there too. There's likely to be some disruption
01:30in places. So, it is worth staying up to date. And if you are travelling, checking before
01:34you set out on your journey as well. Meteorologist warning out for the night time overnight and
01:40through much of Sunday as well. Dry across Northern Ireland and Scotland overnight, low
01:46cloud affecting northern and eastern coasts, perhaps coming inland for a time. And temperature
01:51as well, another muggy night to come, generally remaining in double figures for everyone.
01:55So, an unsettled start to the day across much of England and Wales on Sunday, some thunderstorms,
02:02some longer spells of heavy rain as well, some travel disruption possible, flooding
02:06in places. Meteorologist warning out, some places could see 30 to 50 millimetres of rain
02:11in quite short periods of time, perhaps even higher than this through the course of the
02:15day. It does brighten up across central and eastern areas into the afternoon, but sunshine
02:19could then trigger some thunderstorms here. Generally cloudier for Northern Ireland and
02:24Scotland compared to the last couple of days. The winds coming in from the north are starting
02:28to feel cooler as well, and the risk of some rain developing across eastern parts of Scotland
02:33later in the day. Temperatures generally the high teens to low twenties for many, perhaps
02:38in the best of the sunshine again, 22 or 23 degrees towards eastern and southeastern parts
02:43of England. Through into the evening time, low pressure still in charge. The rain there
02:47extending further northwards, so southern and eastern parts of Scotland could see some
02:51heavy downpours developing, driest across the north-west of Scotland into Northern Ireland.
02:57But again, there could be some showers developing here and elsewhere across England and Wales
03:01to end the day, some heavy showers. So, thunderstorms, heavy rain and some localised flooding possible
03:08over the next 24 hours or so. If you'd like more information, it is worth staying up to
03:12date on our social media channels. See you again soon.
