00:00After clashing in the boardroom, Jennifer and Sandy shared a common goal.
00:06I think Mr. Trump wants to see the two of us together.
00:08He wants to see us working, absolutely.
00:10And we cannot give him the enjoyment of having the two of us in that boardroom.
00:13We cannot even go there.
00:16The teams were challenged to sell M&M filled candy bars that they would manufacture themselves.
00:22If they're not good enough, they'll be thrown out. Only the best will pass inspection.
00:27When it came to picking a project manager, Jennifer hesitated.
00:31Who's going to be your captain?
00:33It doesn't matter either way.
00:34So Sandy stepped up.
00:36I'd be happy to.
00:37You'll be the captain.
00:38Alright.
00:39At the factory, Apex had no trouble passing quality control.
00:43Good looking, amazing bar.
00:44Mosaic was outnumbered and produced fewer bars.
00:48So this is it, so far?
00:50That's it.
00:51So they made up for it by pricing their chocolate higher.
00:56Five dollars a piece.
00:57Five dollars a bar.
00:58Thank you so much, you're so sweet, thank you.
01:00After hearing word of Mosaic's price.
01:03Yeah, five dollars, do you want a little break?
01:05And seeing them strut their stuff.
01:07You know, I'm going to be honest, they look like strippers with chocolate bars.
01:10Ivana resorted to questionable measures.
01:13Twenty bucks and I'll drop a skirt.
01:16But Ivana's act of desperation wasn't enough.
01:19And the women of Mosaic won.
01:22Wow, very impressive, congratulations.
01:25Later in the boardroom, Ivana defended her gimmick.
01:29You flashed a group of people.
01:31I thought it was a good idea because I knew that we had to raise our average selling price.
01:34Did it work?
01:35It did work.
01:36I sold a candy bar for twenty bucks.
01:38What is your record as a project manager?
01:40I've suffered two losses with two street tasks.
01:43I'm 2-0 as a project manager.
01:453-0 as a project manager.
01:47You know what, Ivana?
01:48You stripped, I'm not hiring a stripper.
01:51You made a lot of bad decisions.
01:53And frankly, you've lost too much.

03:28Yeah, okay.
03:29Do you want a pretty of recipe of palm wine?
03:30Yeah.
03:31Okay.
03:32Do you want research queen?
03:33Chicken parmesan?
03:34Yeah.
03:35Kelly, Kevin, and Ivana are in the boardroom.
03:38Ivana has lost twice as project manager.
03:40She's more vulnerable to be fired right now.
03:44I honestly think that Kevin and Kelly will be coming back.
03:46All right, that's just about done.
03:48Welcome back, Kevin.
03:55You all right?
03:56I'm sure it was tough.
03:57I know you weren't worried, but you know.
03:59Any time you step in there, you're worried.
04:00Hey.
04:01How'd it go?
04:02Sucks.
04:03Did it suck?
04:04This whole interview process is a marathon.
04:06You have to pace yourself and go slow,
04:08and when you finally get to the final four,
04:10this is the time to actually start sprinting,
04:12to get to the final two,
04:13then to actually be the apprentice.
04:15Yes.
04:20She f***ed totally.
04:22She was like, ooh.
04:23And then you're like, well, are you going to?
04:25She said, if you really don't want to, I guess I will,
04:28is what it was.
04:30Sandy and I were talking in the kitchen about Jen's behavior
04:33when Mr. Trump delivered the task
04:35and asked for the project manager for each team.
04:37Jen constantly shirks responsibility
04:39and just doesn't want to be the project manager.
04:41Yeah, trust me.
04:42If somebody wants something, you know what I mean?
04:44Sandy, that's not true.
04:46What?
04:47It's not true that I was sitting there saying,
04:49if you want it, that makes no sense.
04:51I mean, just for the record, sure, if y'all want to discuss it.
04:54No, Kelly just said, I heard you guys.
04:56There's no use arguing about it right now.
04:57Hey, say it when I'm in the room.
04:58Kelly's kind of a coward.
04:59He doesn't have the courage to actually stand up to me
05:01and say something to my face.
05:03It's just all about whispers.
05:04At least say it when I'm in the room.
05:06You know, be a man.
05:07Well, we were discussing it,
05:08and then Sandy looked at Mr. Trump and said, I'll do it, so.
05:10It seemed like you were more on the fence, I thought.
05:12I didn't feel on the fence.
05:13I knew I definitely wanted to go in and leave this to us.
05:15I knew I definitely wanted to go in and leave this to us.
05:42Morning, this is Kelly.
05:43Good morning, it's Rona.
05:44It's Rona. Mr. Trump would like you to meet him this morning at 9 a.m. at the top of Trump World Tower.
06:03Come in.
06:11Good morning.
06:12You're standing in the corner office in one of the most luxurious buildings in the world, Trump World Tower.
06:18If you do well in life, you someday may have an office like this, and it really is a spectacular space.
06:26Sandy, Jennifer, Kevin, Kelly, you're the final four candidates out of over a million job applicants.
06:36You should be very, very proud of yourselves.
06:39Now that you're in the final weeks of your 15-week job interview, there are no more teams.
06:45There are no more project managers.
06:48There are no more exemptions. You're on your own.
06:52Now, I have chosen four of the greatest executives anywhere in the world,
06:57and you're going to be interviewed today by those executives.
07:01Alan Joe, chief operating officer, Unilever North America, one of the biggest companies anywhere in the world,
07:09and he has done an unbelievable job.
07:13Dawn Hudson, who's president of Pepsi-Cola North America.
07:17She runs a multi-billion dollar operation and is one of the most dynamic female executives anywhere in the world.
07:25Somebody that I've known for a very long time, Ace Greenberg, chairman of Bear Stearns,
07:32one of the most brilliant men I've ever met, and Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots,
07:38one of the most successful teams anywhere in sports, won Super Bowls in two of the last three years.
07:46Combined, their companies have half a million employees and gross over $80 billion a year in revenue.
07:55They're the best of the best, and I really trust their opinion.
08:00They'll report back to me, and their recommendations will be critical for my decision.
08:07Later today, you'll all meet me in the boardroom, where two of you, sadly, will be fired,
08:13and the other two will move on to their final task.
08:17Go out there, do well with your interviews. Good luck. Thank you.
08:26It's definitely game day. I mean, the Final Four is great, you know, I'm happy to be here,
08:30but none of this means anything unless you get to the Final Two, so I'm focused on this, and hopefully I can wow them.
08:35Hello, sir. I'm Alan Greenberg. Kevin Allen. Kevin, sit down. Pleasure to meet you.
08:41You went to undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania? Wharton School of Business, that's correct, sir.
08:45Now you're in law school. I am in law school now. Don't you want to become a lawyer? No, I don't, actually.
08:50You've done four or five startups? That's correct.
08:53And how long a period? Over the last eight and a half years.
08:56So does that mean you have trouble staying with something?
08:59I can talk you through each one of them. Some of them were market forces that I stayed actually too long with.
09:04Jennifer, tell me the biggest obstacle you've had to overcome in your life to get this far.
09:08Convincing someone that I really can get the job done.
09:11That's too general. Give me something specific.
09:13I would say that when I began at my law firm, I had to immediately step up as a first-year associate and lead transactions.
09:19Why do you want this job?
09:21I'm at the top of my industry. I'm doing really well, but I'm ready for another challenge.
09:25Have you ever had an experience in a corporate environment before?
09:28No, to be quite honest with you, I have not. I have not been in that corporate environment.
09:33On a scale of one to ten, the stress level, it's like 150 today.
09:37Like, today was the most stressful day that I've had to get through.
09:41But right now you're your own boss, right? Yeah, I am.
09:44You know me if you're going to work with Trump.
09:46It's a safer job than what I'm doing right now, so it's definitely a risk.
09:48Safer job? Why do you say safer?
09:50I own my own business. I have a staff.
09:52Well, let's say, you're not going to fire yourself.
09:56What would you say are your weaknesses?
09:58People have given up for some reason or don't have the right attitude.
10:00That really gets to me, and I can become very impatient with that.
10:03I have to learn when to pick my battles and which battles to fight.
10:06I kind of think those are strengths.
10:08Excluding yourself, which one of the three remaining candidates would you choose to be the next president?
10:14Which one of the three remaining candidates would you choose to be the apprentice?
10:18Did you ever let yourself down? Oh, absolutely.
10:20As a leader, would you rather be feared or liked?
10:23What's the hardest thing you've ever had to do in your life?
10:25How's that going to help you if the Trump order is issued?
10:27Aren't attorneys just paid pessimists?
10:28Have you fired someone?
10:29This is your last stop?
10:30Have you ever embellished the truth?
10:31Is that really what you want?
10:33Sucking up to Donald?
10:34What are your weaknesses?
10:35How much time have you spent with him?
10:36Where would you like to be in ten years?
10:37Do you know what you want to do?
10:38Maybe there's something that Donald needs. I don't know. I doubt it.
10:44It's going to be a really intense boardroom.
10:54We are all vulnerable to going home.
10:56I want this so bad. I've worked so hard.
10:58I've overcome so many obstacles.
11:00And I just one more week.
11:03Give me one more opportunity, Mr. Trump.
11:05Don't send me home just yet tonight.
11:07Thank you very much for taking the time and being here.
11:15You're all very valued to me.
11:17You're all friends and great, great business leaders.
11:19Dawn, what do you think?
11:22I'll tell you, I really like Kelly.
11:24I personally have in high regard people going to the military
11:27and what it's cut out to go to West Point.
11:29I thought he was a little stiff, maybe not the most personable person,
11:32but he seemed to react and know how to lead.
11:35Kelly would have to do something real wrong for me not to hire him.
11:38He's an extremely mature young man.
11:41And I think he brings a broader view of the world than the other three candidates.
11:45To me, he is the ultimate team guy.
11:48Like you said, the military training, I think, is a tremendous plus.
11:53Kelly has one thing going for him that you can't get away from.
11:56And that is he's led and he knows how to take orders.
11:59So he's led and he's been led. I mean, you can't get away from that.
12:02None of these people have that.
12:04What do you think of Kevin?
12:05Kevin I immediately liked.
12:07My question on Kevin is he's had a number of missteps
12:11and he keeps course correcting along the way.
12:13And if I were in your shoes, I'd be wondering,
12:16is he going to course correct again?
12:18Am I going to get a guy who's going to be really energetic for a year or two
12:21and then is going to move on to the next thing?
12:23Thank you. Alan?
12:24I found Kevin's naked intensity and ambition a little bit overwhelming.
12:30I found him to be intense to the point of aggressiveness.
12:34But you know, Donald, when I was talking to Kevin,
12:36I said, what do you want to do eventually, Kevin?
12:38Are you going to practice law?
12:39He said no.
12:40He's building, obviously, an unbelievable resume.
12:43I give him credit. And then what?
12:45It is true.
12:46That's the concern.
12:47He's like the most educated person I've ever seen.
12:51All right, hugs.
12:54It's down to four of us.
12:55And it's every man or woman for him or herself.
12:58We all want the same thing.
12:59We all have the same goal.
13:00So I don't really care what alliances and friendships are out there.
13:03It's about me at this point.
13:05It's about winning at this point.
13:08Dawn, what did you think of Jennifer?
13:10I thought she was very bright and focused.
13:13I thought she understood why she wanted to make a transition from law into business.
13:18But I did struggle because I felt she was saying all the right things.
13:22But I couldn't get her to sort of stop and tell me what she really thought.
13:25Alan, how do you feel?
13:27I felt that working through your big organization,
13:30I think Jennifer might have the edge in that environment.
13:32And I think there's a danger that we take her as this intellectual, academically brilliant woman
13:37and discount whether or not she's prepared to roll up her sleeves in the real world.
13:45How do you like Sandy?
13:46I must tell you I was very impressed with her.
13:49The fact that she had the entrepreneurial spirit.
13:52I think probably she's matured to a level now where she's ready for a new challenge.
13:56Sandy has an extreme likability about her.
14:00But I think she is very light on just pure business experience.
14:04Well, I agree with you on that.
14:05A lot about Sandy I like.
14:07But I didn't think she thought a lot about what it would be like working in a corporate environment.
14:12And I do not believe that she could make the transition into the business world.
14:16Well, that's very interesting.
14:17Well, I want to thank you all.
14:19You're great, great people.
14:20And it's an honor to have you.
14:22And I take what you say very seriously.
14:24And thank you very much.
14:44Robin, send them in.
14:46They're ready for you in the boardroom.
14:57These four people who are brilliant at what they do were very, very impressed with all four of you.
15:08So, congratulations.
15:12All right, Kelly, starting with you.
15:14Why should I keep you instead of Kevin?
15:17I have more experience across all of the business functions.
15:21I've been trained in leadership in addition to having my own innate drive and aggressiveness.
15:26I'm also more creative than Kevin.
15:28I also actually…
15:30Do you agree with him, Kevin?
15:31Absolutely not, sir.
15:32You know, I've got a lot of respect for Kelly.
15:33I think he's got a lot of great experience.
15:35But you need somebody who's willing to listen and willing to learn.
15:37I don't think Kelly is going to be as receptive as I am to the information that she and your executives have to impart.
15:42And I think that I am more open to the learning process and to being your apprentice for that reason.
15:48You get all these degrees.
15:49You've gotten unbelievable education.
15:51You've already studied to be a lawyer.
15:53You've graduated from the Wharton School of Finance.
15:55You're an unbelievably talented guy in terms of education, and you haven't done anything.
16:00How old are you now?
16:01I'm 29 years old, sir.
16:02At some point, you have to say, that's enough.
16:05I think you're right, sir, and I think I've done that by actually leaving school and accepting this challenge
16:09and thinking that it's better for me to do this than to be in law school.
16:12And let me explain my resume for a second, if I may.
16:14Everything I've been doing is I've been trying to prepare myself to be a better operator, a better CEO.
16:19You know, Kevin, the business leaders had one big problem with you.
16:23They didn't see where you were going in terms of direction.
16:25They loved your education, but they didn't see where you were going.
16:29They said, when is he going to start?
16:31They really had a problem.
16:32And I have to agree with the business leaders.
16:34So to start the evening, I have to say, Kevin, you're fired.
16:45You're going to be a great success.
16:47I have no doubt about it.
16:48Thank you, sir. I appreciate the opportunity.
16:50Thank you both.
17:03I definitely consider myself one of the two strongest candidates.
17:06Mr. Trump dealt otherwise.
17:10I got to respect that.
17:11And I'm not the one making the decisions.
17:13And he did what he had to do.
17:14I am definitely thankful for the experience.
17:16Getting a chance to participate, getting a chance to go on some of the great rewards I got a chance to go on.
17:21I decided that I was going to just work hard and hopefully let my talents speak for themselves.
17:27I wanted to do well.
17:28I made it to the final four.
17:29Unfortunately, I didn't get to the final two.
17:31But, you know, I'm going to be all right.
17:34Now, that wasn't easy.
17:36But as a business leader, you have to make these decisions.
17:39All right.
17:40Now we're down to getting rid of one other person.
17:43I have to be honest with you, ladies.
17:47The business leaders and George and Carolyn feel Kelly has done an amazing job.
17:54And I think unless he says something very, very stupid, he's going to make it.
17:59OK?
18:00Mr. Trump, if you're looking forward to this, to the Trump Organization and who's going to be the best person,
18:05I have the intellectual horsepower to do this job.
18:07I have the practical experience to get the job done.
18:09I assure you.
18:10Well, I think that Jennifer knows how to be a lawyer, and that's pretty much it.
18:13OK, Mr. Trump.
18:14Being an entrepreneur and having a business, you can't learn that in a textbook.
18:17You have to go out there and sweat it out and experience it.
18:19How would you know, Sandy?
18:20Because you drive around your own company.
18:22You drive around your own school.
18:23How would you know?
18:24Have you ever taken a risk?
18:25Oh, absolutely.
18:26You don't think I would take a risk.
18:29Oh, absolutely.
18:30You don't think going to Princeton, going to Harvard and competing with the finest in the country is a risk?
18:35How about moving across the country to San Francisco in the most competitive legal market in 1999?
18:41Six figures right out of college.
18:43That's not very risky.
18:44That's lucky.
18:45You mean dropping out of school and opening?
18:46No, but Sandy, you can't put her down because she went to a great college and then another great college
18:51and made a lot of money because she went to these two schools and did very well.
18:54You can't do that.
18:56Kelly, who performed better of the two?
18:59He's worked with me one time.
19:01He said Kelly, not Jen.
19:03Hey, Kelly's pretty tough.
19:04I only worked with Jen one task.
19:06Did you win that task?
19:08We did win that task.
19:09And how did she perform?
19:11The next task I sent her away because I didn't think she performed well.
19:14And I had seen her shirk the being in the pool for being selected as project manager.
19:19Oh, that's ridiculous.
19:20Kelly is someone that claims to be very straightforward and to have a lot of integrity.
19:24Every time I walk out of the room, I can hear whisperings.
19:26Kelly is worried that I will be one of the surviving people with Kelly and that I will be able to beat him.
19:31Kelly, would you really rather have the weakest competitor?
19:34I'm very confident that I'll beat either of them.
19:36Oh, that is ridiculous.
19:37Mr. Trump.
19:38That's what I think.
19:39Mr. Trump.
19:40Can I have an opinion?
19:41Mr. Trump, I respect you so much as a leader in your industry.
19:43I've read all about you.
19:44I know your company backwards and forwards.
19:46I know what I'm jumping into.
19:48I can promise you Sandy does not know what your revenues were last year.
19:51She doesn't know how many employees.
19:53Do you know how many employees I had?
19:55I have no idea.
19:56Exactly.
19:57Do you want to hire somebody?
19:58Do you know how many employees I had?
19:59I do.
20:0015,000.
20:01You jump into a swimming pool if you don't know the depth, Sandy.
20:02I mean, how do you even know what you're getting into?
20:04I own two companies, Mr. Trump.
20:05I own two companies.
20:06I took a risk at the age of 21.
20:07I was very young and I've been very successful at it.
20:09I've proven myself over and over again, not only in my personal career, but here as well.
20:13I also have business experience.
20:14Have you ran a business where the bottom line matters to you?
20:17Absolutely.
20:18Absolutely.
20:19Trust me.
20:20Trust me.
20:21If I were not profitable to the partners in my firm, I would have been out a long time ago.
20:25Mr. Trump, your deals involve financial and regulatory complexities.
20:29Sandy simply does not have the intellectual horsepower to manage.
20:32I own two companies, Jen.
20:33I make those decisions every day of my life.
20:35Okay.
20:36I'm not going to...
20:37You might have...
20:38I don't want to insult you, but I will tell you, Mr. Trump, that I am at a much higher
20:40level than Sandy is.
20:41I can handle very complicated transactions.
20:44Well, I feel that's completely unbelievable considering that we have been on this 13-week
20:49interview and none of us have seen that.
20:50No, no, no, no.
20:51This group...
20:52What was it so great about you?
20:53We didn't see it, Jen.
20:54We just didn't see it.
20:55Mr. Trump, if you...
20:56That's what it comes down to.
20:57I feel like I have proved myself.
20:58I have not seen...
20:59And coming in as the entrepreneur without the education...
21:00I have not seen...
21:01Sandy continuously discounts the value of education.
21:02I chose a different path that was very successful for me.
21:03Couldn't you have?
21:04Couldn't you have, Sandy?
21:05Absolutely.
21:06I don't believe that.
21:07I had a three-A all through college.
21:08I don't believe that.
21:09I was in the business school.
21:10Absolutely.
21:11And why did you drop out?
21:12Why would you drop out?
21:13That's why I'm here.
21:15Yes, it was.
21:16It was risky and that's my style.
21:17I moved across the country to San Francisco...
21:19Jen.
21:20...into a very competitive legal market...
21:21Jen, but...
21:22...and all you do is mock that...
21:23Jen.
21:24...even as you walk around...
21:25Jen.
21:26...feeling inferior.
21:27You don't even know what a lawyer does.
21:28Maybe you feel inferior...
21:29Wait, wait, wait.
21:30Sandy.
21:31Sandy.
21:32The problem that I see is I didn't like the way you defended yourself and I love the attack
21:35and the defense of Jennifer.
21:37On top of everything else, the business leaders just weren't impressed with you.
21:42Running one of my companies is a very complex subject.
21:46It's complex in every way.
21:48Financially...
21:49I understand that, but I...
21:50...legally, and I just don't see you being equipped for that.
21:52Sandy, you're fired.
21:55Thank you very much.
21:56Thank you for the opportunity.
22:11I think I really performed much better than Jen.
22:14I was a risk taker and I won twice as project manager while Jen kind of flew under the radar.
22:20I fought as hard as I could and I don't have any regrets.
22:24This has been an amazing experience.
22:26I never realized how much I can accomplish in such a short amount of time.
22:31I really feel that I made a great impression on Mr. Trump.
22:33You never know what lies ahead for the future.
22:37I congratulate you.
22:39You are both winners.
22:40You're two people out of a million job applicants.
22:45I'll see you tomorrow in the boardroom where I'll give you your final task.
22:48Congratulations.
22:49Thank you very much.
22:50Thank you, Mr. Trump.
23:13Jen sucks.
23:14She's difficult to work with.
23:16She's unpleasant to sit with.
23:18All I do is just get away from her as quickly as possible.
23:22I have a lot of issues with Kelly.
23:23He's been very manipulative with me and with people that I've become friends with.
23:32It doesn't matter that I don't like Jen, but what I know of her, I just don't respect.
23:36I think she's afraid to leave.
23:38That's apparent if you watch her behavior.
23:41I'm going to kick Kelly's butt.
23:43I have what it takes.
23:44I'm motivated.
23:45I'm excited.
23:46And I can see the prize.
23:54Come on, everybody.
23:58Are you running with me?
24:00There's no better feeling than being a winner.
24:03Does New York City want the Olympics?
24:06To be a winner, you have to think like a winner.
24:09You have to be positive and you cannot stop.
24:24Hi.
24:26Hi.
24:27You can go right in.
24:39I want to congratulate you both.
24:41I started with 18 people.
24:43Kelly, Jennifer, it's down to the two of you.
24:47You were the best of the best.
24:49You really did do a good job.
24:51Now, for your final tasks, you're going to be put to the ultimate test.
24:56Each of you will oversee and manage the details for two really huge events.
25:03Kelly, you'll manage the Genworth Trump Polo Cup and help raise money for the Alzheimer's Association.
25:10Jennifer, you're going to be in charge of the Genworth Charity Basketball Classic,
25:14which will be held in Riverbank State Park.
25:18You'll be helping to raise money for the NBA's Read to Achieve charity.
25:23You both have the same client, Genworth Financial.
25:27They're a new financial services company looking to gain more awareness and raise their profile.
25:33They've got a lot at stake and they want these events to go off perfectly.
25:38I want to see who's the best at running the event.
25:41And based on your performance, only one of you will become the apprentice.
25:48Since you're now bosses, I'm going to give you the chance to pick some employees,
25:53because you're going to need them.
25:56Robin, send them in.
25:59You can all head in now.
26:02Here they are.
26:05Look at this group of people.
26:08This is an attractive group.
26:10I picked these six people because some of them were your friends and some of them just weren't.
26:15And in business, you need to be able to get the best from your employees,
26:19even if you don't like them and they don't like you, no matter what.
26:24Pick someone that you think can really do the job, and you never know what's going to happen.
26:28If you had some fights with some of them, your past can really come back to haunt you.
26:32Kelly, you pick.
26:35I'll take Elizabeth.
26:38That's very impressive, Elizabeth.
26:40That's good.
26:41Okay, sit down, Elizabeth.
26:43Jennifer, you go.
26:45I'll take Chris.
26:47Chris, sit down.
26:50Kelly?
26:51I will take John.
26:52Hi, John.
26:53How you doing?
26:55Jennifer?
26:56I'll take Pamela.
27:00And I've got Raj.
27:01Okay.
27:02Okay, Stacy, you're last.
27:04You're on Jennifer's team.
27:06Well, those are the teams.
27:08Very impressive teams.
27:09Both very impressive teams.
27:11Both very impressive teams, so it's going to be interesting.
27:15Okay, don't forget, Jennifer and Kelly.
27:17You're the bosses.
27:19These are your employees.
27:20I hope you've assembled good employees to work with, because that's really necessary for victory.
27:27As always, George and Carolyn will be watching, and they will be reporting back to me.
27:33Employees, you'll travel by van to the event.
27:36Bosses, you're going to be driven by a chauffeur-driven Maybach, which is truly a magnificent car.
27:43Good luck.
27:44Go.
28:02Go, Jan!
28:06Go, Jan!
28:12It was pretty nice riding in a chauffeur-driven Maybach.
28:14I really didn't have a chance to truly appreciate it, because I was too busy.
28:17But every once in a while, I'd look up and think, it's a pretty good way to go.
28:23Hey, how's it going?
28:25What's our task, do you know?
28:27It's a basketball classic charity event.
28:30Okay.
28:31Chris Webber is going to be the emcee.
28:32Essentially, I'm the CEO of this event.
28:34So, if I can prove myself and do a great job, then I think it's a very strong argument for me that I can make a transition into the business world.
28:47This is a good spot to be in.
28:49I really have to knock this one out of the park.
28:52It's really about leadership on this task.
28:54I'm jumping out at the next stop.
28:55I'm going to just run back and give them something, okay?
28:57Okay.
29:00Good lord.
29:01Cool your jits.
29:02Nervous Nelly.
29:05My phone number's right there.
29:06Start reading.
29:07It's about an hour to the polo fields.
29:08You guys brainstorm a lot, and we'll talk on the phone.
29:10All right?
29:11Love you guys.
29:12We love you too, Kelly.
29:13He loves us.
29:22I know they want to do well, but there's no real carrot and stick here.
29:25There's no threat of, ooh, I'm taking you to the boardroom.
29:27They don't care.
29:28They've already been fired.
29:29I'm working on things individually that they were going to find exciting.
29:33Oh, we have four ATVs.
29:35Yeah, that'll be fun.
29:36Awesome.
29:37I'll race you.
29:39I have no interest in Kelly's victory or defeat.
29:42Frankly, I'm not working for him.
29:44I'm doing this because I like winning.
29:46I couldn't give a damn about Kelly.
29:50You know, it does bother me that another man is sitting in that Maybach,
29:53who is my leader.
30:00Oh, wow.
30:01I would like to own these grounds right here.
30:04Yeah.
30:05All right.
30:07Raj, you trust for the occasion.
30:08Indeed.
30:10We arrived at the Greenwich Polo Club here in Greenwich, Connecticut,
30:13and it is absolutely gorgeous.
30:15It actually reminds me of Kentucky, back home in Louisville.
30:18Oh, it's beautiful.
30:20Hey.
30:21Excited to finally work with you, Kelly.
30:22I am.
30:23I am too.
30:24I've sensed some level of respect from Elizabeth,
30:26I've never worked with Elizabeth before,
30:27but I've heard that she's great if you give her a very specific task.
30:30She hammers it out.
30:32It says, the match begins at five.
30:34Awards immediately after.
30:36What's a typical timeline for how this runs?
30:38Yeah.
30:40Kelly's picking Elizabeth first has kind of empowered her.
30:42I think she's going to waltz in here and lay down the law
30:45and show everyone what a great leader she is.
30:47John, gift bags are going to be probably created by you.
30:51Yeah, sure.
30:52So then you just need to get them to me.
30:54Okay.
30:55You look at how Elizabeth got fired.
30:57She basically had a mutiny on her last task.
31:00She's got something to prove here.
31:02Raj and I don't.
31:03Beth.
31:04Hi there.
31:05Hi.
31:06Chris Brandt.
31:07Kelly Perdue, nice to meet you.
31:08Nice to meet you.
31:09Introduce you to the rest of the team here.
31:10Hi, my name's Elizabeth.
31:11Nice to meet you.
31:12Nice to meet you.
31:13Hi, John.
31:14We had our first meeting with the managing director here, Chris Brandt.
31:16Our biggest challenge right now looks like
31:19Genworth's blue sunburst.
31:21It's their corporate logo.
31:23They want it right smack in the middle of the field,
31:25and it's 60 feet across and 60 feet tall.
31:27Your field painter, you want to have coordinated with the head of maintenance.
31:32Logos are typically on the field, correct?
31:34We don't put logos on the field.
31:36Oh, so this is a new thing.
31:37Yeah.
31:38Exactly.
31:39All right.
31:41Well, here's the thing, which is there's a bunch of other calls we need to make.
31:44Let's go back and talk about it real quick.
31:46My task is to organize and run the Genworth Charity Basketball Classic.
31:51The next two days are going to be about execution.
31:53So reading over this stuff with Chris Weber,
31:56he's been designated as the game's master of ceremonies.
31:59So you're a big basketball guy, Chris?
32:01Everyone knows Chris Weber from college and the NBA.
32:03He was supposed to come to New York to play basketball,
32:06Everyone knows Chris Weber from college and the NBA.
32:08He was supposed to come to New York.
32:10The Knicks wanted him last year.
32:11What does he look like?
32:12Tall black guy.
32:17Chris Weber's a major star in the NBA.
32:19He's on the Sacramento Kings.
32:20He'll throw some humor in there.
32:21He's a good public speaker, and it's going to be very good for this charity.
32:25Just starting to look through this, I mean, you've got game operations,
32:28and I'm seeing Pamela and Chris doing that.
32:30I told Pamela and Chris that I really wanted them to focus on talking with the NBA,
32:35making sure that the players are lined up.
32:37My leadership style is really all about delegating and overseeing.
32:41Hey, Rudy, this is Pamela and Chris calling
32:44about the Genworth Charity Basketball Classic.
32:47We would love to ask you a ton of questions
32:49on what we should be thinking about from the NBA's perspective.
32:52If I were Jennifer, I would not have handed off the NBA.
32:56Those are the people who are going to evaluate the job that you're doing.
33:01You guys want to make sure you have benches with water and towels and...
33:05Right, I understand.
33:06Would a real CEO do that?
33:08Never in a million years.
33:10Who's actually the lead person on that?
33:12Jennifer...
33:13Massey.
33:14Massey.
33:15Where is she at this point?
33:16She is in an office.
33:18Okay.
33:19We'll get back to you guys.
33:20Thanks so much.
33:21All right, buddy, thank you.
33:22All right, take care.
33:23Take care now.
33:24You go first.
33:31Go with your John right now and brainstorm all the different things
33:34we could sell to a sponsor.
33:36Okay.
33:37Who's tracking that?
33:38You are, right?
33:39Right now, Kelly is keeping himself in front of the laptop
33:43and in Command Central trying to dole out tasks.
33:45I'll start putting together that spreadsheet for you,
33:47and then you can write on it once you start talking to him.
33:49For Kelly, everything revolves around the spreadsheet.
33:52The guy is on that little laptop 24 hours a day.
33:55What do you need?
33:56What do you need?
33:57I'll figure it out.
33:58What do you need?
33:59What do you need?
34:00I'll figure it out.
34:01What's the matter?
34:02Just going through time.
34:03What do you want?
34:04I just want it going down in increments of 15 minutes.
34:05Call it Raj's Timeline.
34:08And you want it to start at 4 p.m.?
34:10I mean, that is, like, gorgeous.
34:13At a certain point, Raj and I got fed up.
34:15I'm going to get my work done because I'm hardworking and I want to succeed,
34:18but, hey, I'm going to enjoy it.
34:22Come match time, I'm going to lean back with a glass of champagne
34:24and enjoy a proper match.
34:26Wait a minute now.
34:27If I need help on the event, you guys are helping.
34:29My event will consist of watching the game.
34:31Oh, that's a team-playing attitude.
34:35There was a period where I was working alone in the clubhouse,
34:38kind of wondering where my team went.
34:40Race you to the sign?
34:413, 2, 1.
34:47I was definitely worried that it was very clear that they didn't have much at stake.
34:53All righty.
34:54If anyone asks, we were stomping divots.
34:57I have three people who have nothing to lose, nothing to gain,
35:01but my butt's on the line on this.
35:16Today is really about making sure all these moving parts start coming together.
35:20We have a court that's being set up and stadium seating that's being set up.
35:24I've given my team a long list of to-dos.
35:29You guys have a dolly?
35:30Not in the truck.
35:38We've got to frigging carry all these boxes and pump all this stuff around.
35:42Everything has to be slapped upstairs.
35:44After we get through that, at that point, we're going to have to make 250 gift bags.
35:48So there's still a lot of work to be done.
35:50I've never seen anything so ridiculous in my life.
35:53F*** you.
35:55F*** you again.
35:59What do they got you? Is there schlep?
36:01Oh, my Lord.
36:02Do you feel utilized or underutilized?
36:03I'm definitely being utilized. I'm being overutilized.
36:06Has Jen spoken to the NBA?
36:07Pamela and I did that.
36:08Just Pamela and you? Jen didn't do it?
36:10Okay. Back to work.
36:12Back to work.
36:16Hi, we're here. We want to know where you are.
36:19Okay, yeah, I'm in the court.
36:21Do you want me to come meet you at the information desk?
36:24I met with Jen Worth just kind of walking through the facility, through the event, and hearing their concerns.
36:30And are these the VIP seats?
36:32These are the VIP seats. You see them around the court.
36:34And we're going to be designating, you know, different blocks for different corporate sponsors.
36:37So I have a bunch of other questions. I don't know if we can sit somewhere.
36:40For them to arrive and see a court that's only halfway in place was very disconcerting.
36:46Sponsoring the entire event.
36:47How are you directing people?
36:49I mean, how do the Jen Worth people know that they're sitting in the Jen Worth seats and where those are?
36:53They're going to have a team of people that are able to serve as ushers.
36:56And we're also going to actually designate the seating.
36:59You look concerned about that. Is there a way that we should be handling this different from what we're doing?
37:03Do I know that?
37:04Yeah, do you all want to sort out a flow?
37:05I don't understand. I'm not developing the flow of the event.
37:08If I was, then I would have thought through that.
37:12We've been really frustrated with Jennifer.
37:14I don't think she has everything worked out.
37:15And I think she's still waiting for Jen Worth Financial to come back to her with what we want to do.
37:20I'm a little nervous about tomorrow.
37:22I hope it's not going to be a disaster.
37:24I'll just walk you guys out.
37:25All right.
37:26The field painters are here to get the Jen Worth compass painted on the field.
37:47You've done the mowing on the field, right?
37:49But in the center, they're good to go.
37:50You start laying it out and everything.
37:52Getting the paint on the field is critical.
37:54We have a contractual obligation, but unfortunately, Mother Nature is not cooperating.
38:08What is your gut telling you on the ability to get this thing done?
38:11It won't be done today, I'll tell you that.
38:14Is that actual rain noise or is that...
38:16It's water off the roof noise.
38:18I'm very concerned about that, but there's not a whole lot I can do about it.
38:21The real challenge here is going to be orchestrating it so that it looks like it's all running flawlessly.
38:31Is this fax wrap for you guys?
38:33Oh, Tony Bennett is coming?
38:35Yeah.
38:36Kelly, Tony Bennett is coming.
38:38Did you hear that, Elizabeth?
38:40Tony Bennett.
38:41What?
38:42Okay, that changes...
38:43I need a stage.
38:44We now have to put a stage in with the sound system.
38:47It's added on about 50 things to do.
38:49We already had 50 things, too many to do.
38:55Is it raining?
38:56It's not raining.
38:58What rain?
38:59We can keep saying that.
39:00I was trying to be positive.
39:02I was hoping against hopes that it would stop raining.
39:05When the field is too wet, the game has to be cancelled.
39:09If it's dry and sunny tomorrow, we'll be fine.
39:12It depends how much it rains tonight.
39:14I've cancelled polo, and it has been the nicest day of the summer.
39:17It rained like this a couple days before.
39:21I'm nervous about that.
39:22I don't really have a plan B,
39:24and I'm at kind of the weather's mercy right now.
39:44Hi, my name is Jen.
39:45I'm actually the project manager for all of this.
39:47You know, it's the night before the event.
39:49We've been relying on Chris,
39:51so I don't really see how it's possible for him to be cancelling at this late point.
39:54Chris Webber's not coming?
39:55Chris Webber's not coming.
39:57Chris Webber's our MC for tomorrow,
39:59and his assistant called to say that Chris is trying to cancel,
40:02but I am not letting Chris Webber go without a fight.
40:05That lady, I spoke to her at least four times today,
40:08and I spoke to her three times yesterday.
40:09I mean, as soon as she knew this might be a potential problem,
40:11she should have called.
40:12My goal is to make sure Chris Webber is here tomorrow.
40:15I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure he's here.
40:18You should not have sold us on him all day today,
40:21knowing full well that this could potentially happen.
40:24You're leaving us without an MC for this event.
40:26We have sold it all along as a Chris Webber event
40:29because you guys committed to that.
40:31It basically blows the entire event.
40:34Now an all-new ER, NBC Next.
40:37This 15-week interview,
40:39it's been more than I could ever have expected.
40:41I would love the opportunity to be Mr. Trump's apprentice.
40:44I would savor every single moment
40:46and honestly work as hard for him
40:48as I could imagine anyone working for anyone.
40:50I have the passion.
40:51I have what it takes to be the next apprentice.
40:54This entire interview process,
40:56I mean, I have treated it as an interview.
40:58I've really enjoyed it.
41:00I mean, I have treated it as an interview.
41:02I've really kind of had my eyes
41:04really focused on the prize the entire time.
41:07And, you know, some people may say that's calculating.
41:09Well, I mean, I am calculating.
41:11I am manipulative.
41:12I do want what I want.
41:13You know, I was not here to just have a good time,
41:15even though I did have a very good time.
41:17But I came here to be the last man standing.
41:20Yeah.
