00:00They come from all over America.
00:11They're hungry go-getters, each with a different story to tell.
00:15Having a child at 16 was definitely a challenge, and she's driven me to be so successful.
00:21A good old boy from the South can go up to New York against the best and the brightest
00:26out there.
00:27I've been kind of a big fish in a small pond.
00:29It's time to put myself among the real players and to show them that I'm not only as good
00:33as them, but better.
00:35But they all have the same dream, to make it in New York, in the world of big business.
00:52I'm Donald Trump.
00:54From this desk, I've built over 100 companies, and finding qualified people to run them isn't
01:00easy.
01:01But my television show has given me access to some incredible talent.
01:09Bill Rancic, Kelly Perdue, and last year's winner, Kendra Todd, have all been invaluable
01:15additions to the Trump Organization.
01:18And now, I'm looking for someone new to run one of my many companies.
01:26I'm looking for someone who's a tough negotiator.
01:29I'm looking for someone who's a dynamic leader.
01:32I'm looking for The Apprentice.
01:40I've invited these 18 candidates to compete in a 13-week job interview.
01:46It's not a game.
01:47They'll push themselves beyond their own limits and work harder than they've ever imagined.
01:52Taxi!
01:53These candidates are by far the most talented group I've ever assembled.
02:01I competed in soccer and softball.
02:02I was an All-American at both.
02:04And when you compete at that level, it definitely helps to prepare you for the business world.
02:08It just does.
02:10I have an incredible academic background, five academic degrees from Rutgers, Oxford,
02:14MIT, PhD from MIT, Rhodes Scholarship, and I'm here to win.
02:20I was born in Russia, came to the States with absolutely nothing, and made myself into a
02:25multimillionaire all on my own.
02:30Right now, they're all headed to Bedminster, New Jersey, where I'm working today with George
02:35and Carolyn at my world-class golf course, Trump National.
02:40This time, I have something unexpected planned for the candidates.
02:48All 18 have great potential, but only one will get to run one of my companies.
02:54For that person, it'll be the dream job of a lifetime.
03:10Who will succeed, who will fail, and who will be The Apprentice?
03:34Money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money,

04:32Welcome to
05:02Trump National Bedminster. We'll take your bag for you. Waitress here for Mr. Trump.
05:08I prepared for this job because I worked my way up from the ground floor level
05:13and in a company with over 50 managers, I was manager of the year, my first year in management.
05:19I've made it on my own with nothing handed to me and I'm ready to take it to the next level.
05:23Waitress here, Mr. Trump is on his way. Appreciate it.
05:33I have had the opportunity to work as a criminal defense attorney at Georgetown
05:42and so I've been able to represent gang members, drug dealers, prostitutes,
05:46but I also dine with presidents, so I think that gives me the opportunity to adapt to CEOs and to
05:51executives. I think that being openly gay is going to be a huge advantage for me because I think
06:06that everyone's not going to worry about it. I don't make it a point to tell everyone I meet,
06:10but I think that when people find out that I'm gay, they're going to go, oh, okay,
06:13it's not going to threaten the guys and the girls are going to become my instant best friends.
06:17Mr. Trump and I have a lot in common. I would say that to some extent,
06:21we're kind of kindred spirits. Mr. Trump and I will end up
06:25being business partners at some point. I'm confident of it.
06:30Mr. Trump is waiting for you on the 10th green, so just follow this path.
06:34It's just past the pond on your right and I'll take care of your luggage.
06:47Good morning. Morning.
06:59Welcome to Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster, Bedminster, New Jersey. It's a great place.
07:04I love golf. There's nothing like it, and I love this course in particular. I want to introduce
07:10you to two very famous people, George Ross, who's been with me for many years, and Carolyn Kepcher.
07:16She's also been with me for many years. Now, before we get started, I'm going to divide the
07:22teams into men versus women. The reason I like doing it this way is sometimes it's hard telling
07:28your part. This way, it's a lot easier. So could I ask you to separate, please?
07:34Okay. You need to come up with a team name and pick a project manager. I'll call you later to
07:50see what you came up with. Normally, the project manager on the winning team is exempt. This time,
07:57you can only have that privilege if your team votes for you. If you don't get their vote,
08:02you're not exempt. Okay. Let's get started. I like to stay fit. I really enjoy playing golf.
08:12It's my form of exercise. But millions of people go to gyms every day to stay in shape.
08:18The fitness business is a monster business. In the United States, it does $13 billion a year
08:25in revenues. There's no better company, there's no finer company, and it's also one of the largest.
08:31Bali Total Fitness. So for your first task, your job will be to create a brand new fitness plus
08:39class for Bali. You'll choose between two different gyms to conduct your classes. The
08:45team that makes the most money wins. Losers, come to the boardroom. Somebody will be fired.
08:52You know, in business, it's important to stay a step ahead of the competition.
08:57I have my helicopter somewhere on this 525 acre property. The first team to reach my helicopter
09:05pilot, two members, will fly back to the city. You'll be back in five minutes, and that team
09:11will have a distinct advantage over the other in the choice of gyms. What are you waiting for? Go!
09:17Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go. Wait, wait, let me go with you. Wait, wait, wait, let me go with you.
09:21That one ran into me. The lineman. That guy almost ran me over, I swear.
09:28Look at the women grabbing golf clubs. That's smart. Go, just go. Keep going. I'll meet you
09:33there. You guys go. Let's go where we see the highest point. Yo, he said he saw it.
09:39Go, go, go, just kick her. Let's go. I'm done with these shoes.
09:51So, is it three guys in the lift? Boy, the guys are killing them.
09:54Boy, the guys are killing them.
10:07Somebody, whoever doesn't have their shoes on, should run.
10:10Everybody, stay on my hike.
10:35I was the first one to reach the helicopter, and I really believed that was a wheel to win,
10:39and I have it. I think you'll see that resonate through me time and time again
10:42over the next several weeks.
10:50When the men won, I knew having the chopper was a huge advantage because it gave them speed.
10:56They're going to get the advantage of location, so it's a tough situation. We're definitely behind,
11:01but nobody's quitting, and we have to get this done. It's that simple.
11:09Getting along with people is very important to success. So, give me a proposal, we'll study.
11:16You know, he's my friend, right? If you're not going to get along with people,
11:19you may be successful, but it's going to be a lot harder. Right, that's what it's all about.
11:24Is that right? We've got to get some order. We've got to get a hold of those guys,
11:33divide up some tasks. All in favor of Mark being project manager, say yes.
11:37Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Man, I'm not reticent to accept it.
11:43We just sort of nominated Marcus, and the first thing he did is, whoa,
11:46hey, I don't know about that. Whoa, I don't know if I want to be the project manager.
11:49That annoyed me a lot. For the record, it's only if it's a unanimous vote among all of them will
11:55I do it. I became project manager because I was getting tedious being told, please be that guy.
12:00One thing I never wanted to have said about me is that I shrunk from a challenge. Fine, I'll do it.
12:09Sixth Avenue, right next to Sephora, next to Macy's, next to all those major retailers,
12:14sorry. Yeah, it's definitely a better one. We know we have to pick one of two locations,
12:18and Brian and I were picked to go on the helicopter because we're both New Yorkers,
12:21so we know the city. We said, oh, 106th Street, Spanish Harlem, probably not the best place.
12:25Hmm, 20th Street, Sixth Avenue, in Chelsea, more affluent, better location.
12:55The helicopter got us the location we wanted for the women, so we had that advantage. There's a
13:13nice mix of male to female. Speaking to Matt, who's the manager, seems like they have a really
13:17good base of clientele, somewhat affluent. It's with the right marketing, we should win head and
13:21shoulders above the women. There's going to be people out running when they get off work tonight.
13:32Christy said, I would like to be project manager of this. I've been an All-American athlete. I can
13:36help design this class, and everyone said, all right, you want to be the project manager. This
13:39is your niche. We're going to let you do it. I think we have a better concept than they could
13:43ever come up with. We didn't have the advantage of getting back to New York City in five minutes.
13:48By the time we got to the first valleys, the guys were already there, and so we went to the
13:52second location, which was in Spanish Harlem. It's right here on this street. It's just on this corner
13:57right here. When we arrived, I didn't think we had the better location, but the moment we walked in,
14:05that place was jam-packed with people, and so I thought, maybe, you know, it's a blessing in
14:10disguise. We probably do have the better location. Would you ever be interested in any kind of
14:14classes, or if you were, what kind of classes would those be? I mean, I'm into boxing. You're
14:19into boxing? Yeah. Adam, give me your high number. Your straight-up high number, not a fluff number.
14:25A number of what? What you pay, $15? $10, $15 a month. All right. You like yoga? Imagine you have to pay
14:31something extra. $25. $25. Did you ask people what they would be willing to pay? This is getting
14:38different. You heard $10 to $12, and then I heard on the upper range of $20. I heard $35. I got $50. I'm telling you right now, on the record, I don't think that's hard. These are
14:47Hispanics, you guys. I know them very well. I am Hispanic. They're used to paying $10 to $12, $15.
14:53They will not want to pay $20. They'll feel ripped off. 98% of their client base at Bally
14:59in Spanish Harlem was Hispanic. Well, that's me. I mean, we had an advantage being that I am Hispanic.
15:05Utilize it. $30. I would say I could get five here for $50. Can I clarify what these people are doing? Case in point,
15:11one of the people she talked to that earlier said $50. His high after I spoke to him was $15,
15:17and that was a joke that was stretching it. Okay. Yeah, because I'm Hispanic. You're not going to lie to me.
15:22Melissa believed that because she was of a Hispanic heritage, she thought that in this
15:26particular demographic, $15 or $10 would be appropriate. I think it's possible that what
15:31she was saying is correct, but the problem was the manner in which Melissa said it just made it
15:37very difficult for the people on the team to stomach. At some of the top institutions I've
15:43worked for in New York, this sort of thing would just never be tolerated. And they walk out. What's
15:47going to happen? That wasn't worth it. Hey, person down the street, that wasn't worth it. Hey, person
15:51down the street, that wasn't worth it. That's what they're going to do. Please stop. I can talk to
15:57these people. And if they tell me what they're telling you, I'm going to do it. End of discussion.
16:00You know, we're going to quit bickering about this. End of discussion.
16:13You know, let's settle down. Let's listen. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, guys, I want to decide on
16:19the duration of the class. I like 45. To me, 45 is substantial. If we do 45 minute classes,
16:24we lose one class and the opportunity to make money on that one class. What do you want? We
16:27could do seven 30 minute classes. Here's what I'm losing, Hiss. Just tell me, not what you're afraid
16:33of, but tell me what it is that you're suggesting. We need to do seven. It's either five 45 minutes or
16:36seven 30 minutes. Marcus, our project manager, is frazzled. He was confused, couldn't make decisions.
16:42He was doing what he thought was the right thing to do, like six or seven times, saying,
16:47hold it, guys. Hold it. Hold it. Guys, just stop one second. Stop one second. Let me ask a question,
16:51guys. I'd like to know right now, since we're at a juncture, is there anything
16:55that I either should be doing or could be doing better?
17:03Mr. Trump would absolutely never turn to his employees and go,
17:06do you think I'm good enough? Do you think I'm smart enough? People like me? Are you joking?
17:12It's bulls. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right.
17:34Hey, it was me. I'm just getting back. Oh, OK. Well, it looks like a birthday boy.
17:40It's Monday morning. But you said they still need to sit and talk to the pastor.
17:46You know, the pastors have to sit and talk to each other. The pastor?
17:49Yeah, the pastor from the two churches. I see. But it's definitely Monday morning.
17:54Yeah. All right, honey. I love you. I love you, too. All right. Bye-bye.
18:10You look like you had some tough news. What's up?
18:13My grandmother passed away.
18:14Right. I'm sorry, man.
18:17What what happened?
18:18She's in an assisted. She was in an assisted living facility.
18:22And she's in there with my grandfather. And the tooth fell out. She couldn't get it back in.
18:26So my grandfather called for the nurses to come and give her some assistance.
18:29By the time they got to her, she'd suffocated.
18:32Who's your mother was?
18:34My mom.
18:34Speak to her?
18:35Yeah. Yeah.
18:36I found out from my wife that my grandmother passed away. And so I had really mixed emotions
18:41because really what was at the forefront of my mind was the fact that I lost my grandmother.
18:45And I wanted to be with my family. At the same time, I was there with what was hopefully an
18:51exciting opportunity. But it was hard for me to really be in the moment because of what had just
18:56happened.
19:13Our marketing campaign was hitting the streets with flyers. And we told people they don't have
19:19to join the gym to come take the class. I hope that generating revenue from the non-members
19:25could possibly be the winning difference.
19:27We just got to get further because we've covered this area like crazy.
19:31I think it's going to be a tough sale for us. But I think we're going to do well just because
19:36we are so excited about the project that I think we're going to draw people in.
19:41Hello. We're having a fabulous class today. You definitely want to take advantage of it.
19:45It's called Triple Threat.
19:46We ended up coming up with a class that combined Pilates, abs, and boxing.
19:51The flyer said Triple Threat, but then there were three X's separating the two words.
19:56The first thing I thought about was a strip club. I'm concerned about the negative connotation from
20:01seeing three X's in a row. And that was the project manager's call. Christy didn't think
20:05it was that big a deal.
20:06It's a boxing class tonight. What a better way to take your aggression out.
20:09Okay.
20:12This is so unorganized. I mean, really, tell me this is unorganized. Just saying.
20:16I know we're doing a good job, but we could be doing a lot better.
20:19It's just a good job doesn't win. You know what I mean?
20:21Yeah.
20:21It just doesn't. I mean, you have to do above and beyond at this level. And it's just,
20:26we've got, it's too inefficient. It's unorganized. We're not spending the money.
20:29You know what I mean? I mean, it's just like, use your brain, guys.
20:33Our marketing plan revolved pretty much solely around marketing industry. It would have been
20:37nice to be able to utilize the people inside Bally that were already there, dressed, ready to go.
20:43But that would have required planning, and that wasn't one of Christy's fortes.
20:47What did Christy decide about everything in the schedule after 2.30? Do we know?
20:53It was a bit of a decision.
21:02We are doing an awesome class called the Rush Half Hour Class.
21:05Yeah.
21:05We're going to have in this class, kick butt boxing,
21:08abdominal blast, and a yoga flex. Do you want to do the 4.45 or the 5.30?
21:13The 5.30.
21:14Okay.
21:14We're focusing on the current people that are members of Bally's now,
21:17because the people that are in there are people you don't have to convince just to come to Bally's
21:21for their first experience. They've already been there. That's a place they work out.
21:24So half the battle's already done at that point.
21:27Let's sign you up. There you go. There you go. Good job.
21:31You're going to love it.
21:33This is Marcus.
21:34Hi, Marcus. This is Ronan, Mr. Trump's office.
21:37Yes. How are you?
21:37Fine. Good. He wants to talk to you. Hold on one second.
21:40Very good.
21:41Hello.
21:43Good afternoon, Mr. Trump. This is Marcus.
21:44How are you doing?
21:45Really well. Really well. These guys are beyond impressive.
21:49Let me ask you two questions. Number one.
21:52What is your team name?
21:53Team Excel.
21:55Excel is a name that embodies our team. It embodies our spirit and embodies
22:00our determination to-
22:02Okay, good. Who is your project manager?
22:05Sir, I am. It's been quite a ride so far.
22:10We were the dedicated-
22:15Nobody was going on a helicopter, right? It was all business.
22:19I was really a little bit unpleased. I was a little unhappy with the dialogue.
22:23This guy talks a lot.
22:25I just had to step up and be the leader and get it on.
22:28So you're going to explain it to me tomorrow. You don't have to talk anymore.
22:30No problem.
22:31Okay. Bye-bye.
22:35I feel good about that.
22:36How are you doing? We have a class going on, boxing, abs, and Pilates.
22:43It's going to make you sweat.
22:45Okay, guys. Let's start off with a march so we look like this. Okay?
22:49Right, left, right, left. Come on. Stay with me.
22:52Hello. This is Christy.
22:53Hello, Christy.
22:54Hey, Mr. Trump. How are you?
22:56What is your team name?
22:58Capital Edge.
23:00We want to make money and we're women with an edge.
23:02Okay. That's good.
23:03And it's a very interesting name. Tell your people it's a very interesting name.
23:07I will do it.
23:09So good luck, Christy.
23:10Thank you very much.
23:11Bye.
23:11Bye-bye.
23:12No way.
23:14Good. I think we got it. Front, front, front. Let's go.
23:17But at the end of the day, they just make mistakes with the money.
23:22Before they leave the class.
23:23Actually, to be honest with you, what's your project manager doing?
23:28We've got a lot of holes. We've got a lack of organization.
23:31There's definitely a few of us not being used to the full system.
23:34Carolyn is a brilliant woman who we want to impress.
23:37We want her to like what she sees.
23:39And there's Melissa talking all kinds of smack to Carolyn.
23:45Why would you do that?
23:46What does it gain the team when you're talking bad about the team?
23:49Because I'm doing everything.
23:53Why are you doing everything?
23:55I mean, okay, I'm not literally everything, all right?
23:57But I'm doing a lot.
23:59Melissa, come here, please.
24:00Don't give me negative energy. I need positivity from you.
24:03We have to work with what we have, okay?
24:05It's just that this could have been done a lot better.
24:09You know, I'm not going to have you being negative anymore. Let it go.
24:12Christy, it's clear she doesn't like me.
24:13I'm used to that. Women always hate me.
24:15Fine. No problem. Whatever. Fine.
24:17I'm not here for you to like me. Maybe she's threatened.
24:20I don't really care.
24:20If I'm that threatening to you, you need to just get fired and be gone.
24:23Because I'm not going to get less threatening.
24:26I'll let you and Marshawn go downstairs.
24:28I want you working more with accounting.
24:31Cool. All right.
24:36It's a four o'clock, one-half hour program.
24:39It's commencing right now. Last chance.
24:40At Valley Total Fitness, it's all about you.
24:42Come see me at the booth right now.
24:44We also have other class times available.
24:46Starting in five minutes. Starting in five minutes.
24:49I'm having to stay focused on the task at hand.
24:52But at the same time, you know, I received news that my grandmother passed away.
24:56And so right now, I'm feeling mixed emotions.
24:58I'm wishing I could be there with my family.
25:00But at the same time, I know that my grandmother's in a better place.
25:03And I'm hoping that I'll be able to attend her services.
25:10Where are we at these nights?
25:11I'm worried about everything.
25:13I'm the PM. I'm the project manager.
25:14I am the mother hen of this project.
25:17507.
25:18Okay.
25:19What's going to make us win is being a penny ahead.
25:21I think that it's going to be very close.
25:23Too close to tell, you know, in a photo finish.
25:31Right, left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, left.
25:37I choreographed the class.
25:39I knew it was going to be hard as hell.
25:42I knew people would see results.
25:43I knew they would walk away feeling good about spending $20.
25:47Drop your shoulders.
25:48Not your neck.
25:49Lower back.
25:50Hyperextension.
25:51Center your body.
25:52Nice and easy.
25:54We're out of here, guys.
25:55Have a fabulous, fabulous evening.
25:58Thanks for coming out again.
25:59Thank you so much.
26:01I think we're going to win this one.
26:02I think we have excellent foot traffic.
26:03I think we've got people in the community who are excited about it.
26:06We have been selling this on the street.
26:08So I do think we're going to win this one.
26:10Thank you so much.
26:11I hope you enjoyed your workout.
26:13Okay, let's go on up.
26:29So this was the first battle between XL Corporation and Capital Edge Corporation.
26:48All right, let's start off with George.
26:50How did Capital Edge do?
26:51Capital Edge did well.
26:52They concentrated primarily on street marketing in the neighborhood around the city.
26:57They concentrated primarily on street marketing in the neighborhood around their gym.
27:01At the end of the day, they earned $516.
27:05Okay.
27:06Carolyn, how did XL Corporation do?
27:09XL Corporation did very well.
27:11They focused their marketing efforts on existing Valley members inside the gym.
27:15And they came up with total earnings of $527.
27:18Woo-hoo!
27:19That's what I'm talking about, fellas!
27:22Good job.
27:23Good job.
27:23Yeah.
27:24Good job.
27:24Yeah.
27:25All right.
27:26For your reward, the winning team is going to go with me to the Friars Club.
27:32That is huge.
27:34I've been a member for a long time.
27:35They roasted me recently.
27:36I'm sure you all read about it.
27:38And we're going to have a little fun.
27:39We're going to have lunch.
27:41Now, Marcus, I have to ask your team to vote for your exemption.
27:47I vote for not exemption.
27:51I don't think any member of the team is above anybody else.
27:54And I think that I don't want anybody to feel as if they can skate through the next task.
28:00I think Marcus took the initiative in the beginning.
28:02Our group was very frazzled.
28:04And he brought the group together.
28:06And he took the initiative.
28:07So were you before giving him an exemption?
28:08I was before giving him the exemption.
28:10Let's have a vote.
28:11Is Marcus going to be exempt?
28:20Adam and Randall, you vote yes.
28:23But that's not a majority.
28:24Therefore, Marcus, next week, you are not exempt.
28:28And Capital Edge, you folks are coming back to the boardroom.
28:32Somebody will be fired.
28:34Go ahead.
28:34Randall, I'd like you to stay behind.
28:37I'm sorry.
28:51Randall, you know that with the loss of your grandmother,
28:54who I understand you were very close to,
28:56you could quit.
28:57And we would fully understand that.
28:59My grandfather basically said that he wants me to stay.
29:03And that my grandmother would have wanted me to stay.
29:05OK.
29:06I want to really embody her spirit while I'm here
29:09and honor her memory by continuing to do
29:13what I think she would have wanted me to do.
29:14So I'm going to stay.
29:17I'm going to get you a helicopter.
29:19And we're going to fly you to Philadelphia
29:21so you could attend the funeral.
29:22I think that's important for you.
29:25Thank you, George.
29:26Yeah.
29:36I can't do your job for you, obviously.
29:47I wouldn't dare to try.
29:48But, you know, it was pretty darn close.
29:50The reward was lunch with Mr. Trump at the Friars Club,
29:54where he was just recently roasted.
29:56I thought this was a huge opportunity
29:57for me to connect with him,
29:58for me to build a rapport with him.
30:01You know, it was, I'd say, you know,
30:03as the PM on this, without going over budget,
30:07I said, you know, manage your money,
30:09but don't hold back.
30:09Make sure you use your resources to their utmost.
30:12Do you think Marcus talks a lot?
30:13A ton.
30:14I can give you the clip notes, though.
30:15It's no problem.
30:16I can translate.
30:16They're going to get on you, Marcus.
30:17I can tell you, they will be getting on you.
30:19As not a team leader, you'll hear a whole lot from him.
30:22I don't, I actually don't think we should ever give an exemption.
30:24However, if he brought in 50 percent of the revenue yesterday,
30:27he should have an exemption.
30:29We as a team don't think anyone deserves exemption
30:32unless they were 30, 40, 50 percent of the reason we won that task.
30:37Marcus was actually less than five percent of the reason we won that task.
30:41Don't hold back.
30:41Make sure you use your resources to their utmost.
30:44See, he said he wasn't going to talk so much.
30:45People don't change.
30:46By the way, don't worry about it, Marcus.
30:48People don't really change.
30:51Unfortunately, the first task was led by Christy, and unfortunately, I don't respect her because of the way she handled things from the get go.
31:09And I didn't agree with the way she dealt with us as individuals.
31:13You heard her say negative, negativity, negative.
31:17But I want you to understand when I said that to everybody.
31:19Why would she think that you're negative?
31:20Let me just get this, get this, listen to me.
31:23I don't respect Christy.
31:26I get that you do.
31:27Why is it that I'm not running around trying to talk to everybody and scheme something up that Melissa is?
31:34But you don't need to because she's on the defensive and you're not.
31:37OK.
31:38So that's, that's normal.
31:39When you know you're going down, you're going to act very defensively.
31:43OK, I just want to make sure because I'm not running around and doing my be on my team kind of thing, you know, go to the board.
31:51Because you're confident and, you know, you've got it.
31:55This isn't Christy versus Melissa.
31:57This is Melissa sucks.
32:00And she needs to be fired.
32:14Hi, go ahead and they're waiting for you.
32:40So you lost.
32:43Why did you lose, Christy?
32:44What happened?
32:45We lost by $11, sir.
32:47And we lost.
32:48But you lost.
32:49We did lose.
32:50Mr. Trump, we lost this task because of marketing.
32:53That's the bottom line.
32:54Exactly.
32:54Who came up with this idea?
32:58Triple threat was my idea.
33:01And it was three X's and I drew it out very clearly.
33:04And triple threat was supposed to be in the X's.
33:06It didn't come back that way.
33:08All this has is three X's.
33:09But that's not the way I do my marketing.
33:11We're going to make you sweat.
33:13You think you're marketing to women?
33:14I never took that in a pornographic way.
33:19The reason we lost, just so we can get to the bottom of this,
33:22was because of our project manager.
33:24She's a weak...
33:24That is untrue.
33:25No, she's very weak and she's very unorganized.
33:28Am I so weak that I came up with the choreographing?
33:30I sold...
33:30You're loud, you're obnoxious, you're annoying and you're weak.
33:33You're a poor, you're a poor leader.
33:35You make poor judgments.
33:37You shouldn't be here.
33:38Excuse me, Melissa.
33:40At the end of the day, it takes the entire team's effort.
33:43Everybody's 100% to win the task.
33:46We had one member of our team.
33:48Who?
33:48Melissa, who was not giving it 100%.
33:51She was negative.
33:52She was condescending.
33:54She was sarcastic.
33:55She brought us down.
33:56She made us lose our focus.
33:58And even if we lost it, excuse me, for one second...
34:00I put a lot of energy into managing Melissa.
34:01Even if we lost it for one second, that causes that one sale.
34:05We're off by one sale.
34:07Rebecca, what do you think?
34:09I honestly think that this team cannot work with Melissa on it.
34:13Organization is particularly hard when there are people who do not listen, who mostly speak.
34:19I think that Melissa and her actions in here right now show you that she is not listening to people.
34:25Oh, that's not true.
34:26I've been listening quite a bit.
34:27I just need to speak up and defend myself.
34:28I mean, you guys are attacking me.
34:30Mr. Trump, Melissa pulled me aside and she told me that she lost respect for Chris.
34:35She lost respect for Christy.
34:37What was her reason for losing respect?
34:39That's the thing.
34:39I still don't understand that.
34:40She just didn't like her.
34:41She... I didn't think her organization was good.
34:43Why were you so negative throughout the task?
34:45Why did eight other women in this room think that you were negative over the 24 hours that you had to complete this task?
34:50And you told me that the reason why you may have been perceived negative
34:53was because of your lack of respect for our project manager.
34:56To me, that is a lousy excuse.
34:59Mr. Trump, I think Melissa needs to go home because she caused a lot of friction.
35:04She did a terrible job.
35:06She caused a lot of unnecessary drama and negativity.
35:09The only reason I had negativity on that regard is because she gets under my skin.
35:14But at the end of the day, I learned that I need to keep my feelings in check and not be negative.
35:19I'm a very, very optimistic individual.
35:21Why don't we just do this right now, okay?
35:23Christy, as you know, you're allowed to bring two people back to the boardroom.
35:29Somebody will be fired out of the three.
35:31The rest of you are going to go up to a very, very beautiful suite in Trump Tower.
35:34So who would you like to bring back?
35:36Can I bring back one?
35:41You can bring back one.
35:43I'd like to bring Melissa back.
35:44Okay.
35:45Everyone go up.
35:46You two go outside.
35:48See you in a minute.
36:01So
36:24what do you think, Carol?
36:25Well, I think Melissa is very, very disruptive.
36:28I do, however, have an issue with Christy's marketing.
36:31George, it's obviously very clear that the team is down on Melissa as a disruptive influence.
36:37Robin, let him in.
36:39Both of you can go ahead and head in.
36:57What do you think, Melissa?
36:58I think, Mr. Trump, that I'm a good person.
37:00I'm a hardworking person.
37:01Despite what was shown yesterday, I am a very positive person.
37:05I made a mistake in letting her get under my skin.
37:08No doubt about it.
37:08It wouldn't happen again.
37:09But at the end of the day, my mistakes didn't cost us a task.
37:13Hers did.
37:14Her judgment was sorely lacking.
37:16Christy, do you think you lost because of Melissa?
37:19She could have affected it's about one person.
37:22She could have hit one person's button.
37:24Do you hear everybody?
37:26Did you hear every single other person?
37:29Melissa, I heard everybody.
37:31Everybody thinks you should go.
37:32They all acknowledge that I was negative.
37:34Do you want to know what the reality is for me?
37:35The reality is I don't work well with women because they're always intimidated by me.
37:39I think they want to get rid of me because I'm a bigger threat to them.
37:42Hers, she's a weak link.
37:43If she sticks around, they know she'll go eventually.
37:45Why can't you work with women?
37:46Because they're always intimidated.
37:48Why are they intimidated?
37:49Because I'm beautiful.
37:50I'm smart.
37:50Yeah, but they're beautiful too.
37:51I mean, you have a beauty queen.
37:53Do you think she was intimidated by your beauty?
37:55She was one of the few people that I actually worked with.
37:56Do you think she was intimidated by your beauty?
37:58No.
37:58So, Melissa, what you're saying is you can't work with women.
38:01I'm saying that it's hard for me.
38:02I work very well with women because at the end of the day, they're intimidated by me.
38:06So do you have a shot?
38:07Do you have a shot of getting out of this if you can't work with women?
38:09No, I can't work with women.
38:10I worked in corporate America.
38:12I managed well.
38:13More than half don't respect you.
38:14So how do you expect to come back and lead this team and win?
38:18Immediately, I'm not going to lie, everybody, and it's a woman,
38:23they're almost always, they don't like me.
38:25You're saying that they are intimidated by you.
38:29That creates a hostile environment.
38:30To get rid of the hostile environment, you got to get away from the intimidation.
38:34George, sir, my only mistake was letting her get under my skin,
38:37but that's not why we lost the task.
38:38We've got to remember that, that I worked my butt off.
38:41I didn't cause any reason for us to lose.
38:44But Melissa, every single woman in this room thought you were a disruptive force.
38:48Every single one.
38:48Glad that I did a good job.
38:49No, they didn't say you did a good job.
38:51Whether you lost the task for them or not,
38:53you were a very, very negative force and they don't want you on the team.
38:58Christy, I was not happy with your leadership.
39:02Your marketing and your marketing approach was absolutely the worst.
39:06But I have to say something that, Melissa, you can't get along with anybody.
39:11What they all told me was that they like me very much.
39:14What they said was to me, and you were in the room.
39:17Every single woman said that Melissa was a negative force.
39:21And therefore, Melissa, Melissa, you're fired.
39:31And you should not be proud of yourself because you did not do well.
39:34All right, go.
40:04Well, I think we had no choice.
40:16Well, she said by her admission, she can't work with women.
40:19That's true.
40:34So
40:40so
41:03the entire team, all the girls said that I should go home.
41:07It's not a shocker.
41:09I don't know.
41:09I'm just maybe I'm too independent for my own good.
41:11But I'd rather be the first than the fifth or the seventh.
41:15You know, you might as well be first or last.
41:18Anything in the middle would just suck.
41:19You're that much closer and you're still going to lose.
