00:03In 1757, England and France had been at war for three years over the control of the American colonies.
00:09The last three members of the Mohican tribe, Chingach Guk, his son Uncas, and his adopted son Hawkeye,
00:15who are on the border west of the Hudson River, are hunting for food, which he will later share with the Cameron family on his farm.
00:22That night, Jack visits them in search of people who will go with him to New York and join the local army,
00:27despite Hawkeye's suspicions that one of the locals would join him in battle.
00:31The next morning, a group of British soldiers also tries to recruit any volunteer who would join them.
00:38Most agree with Hawkeye and decide not to join, but Jack manages to persuade a number of men to go with him and hear General Webb's offer.
