00:00A mysterious stuntman lures young women into his sinister,

00:03indestructible car to perform impossible maneuvers and wipe out all his passengers.

00:07Today we're going to recap the story of the movie, Death Proof, from 2007.

00:12One Friday, while preparing to spend the weekend at the lake house,

00:15Shanna and her friends decide to stop by a convenience store to buy drinks.

00:19While her friends go into the store, Arlene decides to stay outside,

00:23at which point she realizes that she is being followed by a stranger who speeds up his car

00:27when he notices that the girls have stopped at the store. After buying supplies for the weekend,

00:32the young woman and her friends go to a cafeteria, where they meet Marcy.

00:36During the conversation, Arlene discovers that Julia is trying to find her a boyfriend

00:40and announced on the radio that morning that her friend has just arrived in Austin,

00:44the capital of Texas. Every morning, from Monday to Friday,

00:48Julia has a show on the local radio station and is well-known in the city.

00:52That evening, after drinking a little more, she calls Lana and asks her friend to meet her at the

00:56bar, as they had agreed to spend a night together. She then sends Chris a message and reveals that

01:01she misses him. A few minutes later, her boyfriend replies and says he's dying to see her again.

01:07Meanwhile, Shanna is talking to Dov and suddenly Warren, the bar owner,

01:11sends a round of drinks to the girls' table. After having a drink, Arlene decides to leave

01:16the bar once again to take a breather while her friends continue to drink.

01:19It's storming outside and, as she looks across the parking lot,

01:23she spots the same sinister car that followed her friends to the convenience store hours ago.

01:27Just then, Nate appears and approaches Arlene. When she notices him, the girl is startled but

01:33relieved to see him. After apologizing for scaring her, he invites her to his car for

01:37a moment alone and assures her that he won't let Arlene get wet in the rain.

01:41As she doesn't want her friends to realize that she's gone, Arlene agrees to get in the car for

01:46just 10 minutes and says that after that she'll go back to the bar. At that moment, Dov and Omar

01:51are at the counter putting together a strategy to convince the girls to invite them to spend the

01:55weekend with them at the lake house. However, this will not be an easy mission, as the cabin

02:00belongs to Shanna's father and he has forbidden her to bring men to sleep there. Looking over,

02:04the boys spot Mike devouring a portion of nachos and start laughing at his scar,

02:09but the man just ignores them. At this point, Pam starts talking to Mike and discovers that he's a

02:14stuntman. Just then, Lana and her friends show up and sit down at the table next to Julia.

02:19When asked why she didn't join those girls, Pam reveals that she's had an enmity with Julia

02:24since she was a teenager because they went to high school together and never got along.

02:28At the end of the night, when Julia and her group of friends are partying outside the bar,

02:32Mike approaches and asks what the girl does for a living since her face is plastered all over the

02:37city. At this point, Julia reveals that she works as a DJ on the local radio station,

02:42but is planning to open her own record label. After introducing himself,

02:46Mike congratulates her on her work and then enters the bar. On seeing him, Pam asks him

02:51which movies he's acted in as a stuntman and Mike tells her about his long list of films.

02:55Before leaving, Mike decides to bring the girls a drink, even though he hasn't had a drop of alcohol

03:00all night at this point. Arlene recognizes him and claims that he is the owner of the bizarre car

03:05that was following her friends that afternoon. However, the stuntman claims that he wasn't

03:10following the girls and challenges Arlene to do a dance for him, as she is already altered by the

03:14large amount of alcohol she has drunk. The young woman decides to accept the challenge and gives a

03:19special performance for Mike. At dawn, the girls decide to leave and Mike offers to give Pam a

03:24lift. Seeing her old schoolmate leaving with the stuntman, Julia begins to make fun of her,

03:29speculating that the girl is going to spend a night with that old man. However, Pam says that

03:34this will never happen because Mike is old enough to be her father. After saying this, the young

03:39woman runs to the car and is startled to see a skull drawn on the hood. According to the stuntman,

03:44that car is the safest vehicle in the world because it was built to be completely accident

03:48proof. At this point, Mike reveals that his specialty is stunt racing and he usually acts

03:53in movies where the car suffers an accident so serious that, under normal conditions,

03:58it would be impossible for anyone to get out alive. Thanks to all the reinforcements he has

04:02made to his vehicle, Mike says he has managed to build a car that can take any kind of impact and

04:07still come out unscathed. The man claims that he could crash the vehicle into a wall at 120

04:12miles per hour and still come out alive. Opening the door, Pam discovers that Mike's car has no

04:17passenger seat, as it has been completely adapted for the movies. Even so, the young woman accepts

04:23the ride and sits down on a makeshift bench. However, when Mike starts the car, she realizes

04:28what a big mistake she has made and orders him to stop the car. When he hears Pam shouting for

04:33him to slow down, Mike starts to rock the vehicle in all directions, causing the young woman to hit

04:38her head on the glass panel separating the passenger and driver's seats. Terrified, the girl

04:43begs Mike to stop the car and let her out, but the stuntman has other plans for her. Once again,

04:48he claims that the vehicle is completely safe, but explains that the only person who is really

04:53protected in there is the one sitting in the driver's seat. After saying these words, Mike

04:57slams on the brakes and Pam ends up being eliminated by hitting her head on the dashboard.

05:02Then the man takes some photos of Julia and her friends and decides to throw them on the road

05:06while he plans a way to get rid of them. At this point, the girls are in Lana's car on their way

05:11to the lake house. They are distracted by listening to music when, suddenly, Mike appears driving at

05:16high speed and manages to overtake them on the road. After overtaking, the man stops the vehicle

05:21and prepares to accelerate in the opposite direction in order to crash into the girl's car.

05:26During the collision, Lana's body is thrown out of the vehicle along with Julia's leg.

05:30After destroying Arlene's face, the vehicle flies onto the roadside and is completely destroyed,

05:36but Mike manages to survive. The next morning, the stuntman wakes up in hospital and discovers

05:41that he only suffered a few injuries during the crash. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the sheriff

05:46soon comes to the conclusion that the accident was deliberate and used as a pretext to eliminate the

05:50girls. The problem is that there's no way of proving this theory and, since Lana and her

05:55friends were under the influence of alcohol, it's easy for the defense to claim that they were to

05:59blame for the accident, since Mike was sober all night. Although Pam's body was found inside the

06:04vehicle, there's no way of knowing whether she was eliminated before or during the accident,

06:09so the stuntman managed to get away with yet another crime. Faced with this situation,

06:13the sheriff is in doubt as to whether he should take on this case and go after the evidence to

06:17confirm his theory or leave the decision in the hands of the jury. However, after some reflection,

06:23he comes to the conclusion that he is no longer young enough to be on the trail of criminals,

06:27so he decides to leave everything to the authorities while he spends his time watching

06:30TV. Fourteen months later, Mike arrives in the town of Lebanon, Tennessee, with his new reinforced

06:36racing car and soon starts looking for his new victims. While parked, he spots three girls

06:41chatting in the car next to him. The girls are chatting about their busy weekend and decide to

06:46stop at the convenience store to buy some coffee before heading to the airport to pick up Zoe,

06:50who is flying in from New Zealand. While Kim is in the store preparing her coffee,

06:54Mike gets out of his car and walks over to the vehicle next door to talk to the girls.

06:59Seeing Abby's feet outside the vehicle, the man decides to touch them and, when the girl wakes up,

07:04he drives off. After getting into the car, he speeds out of the parking lot and continues on

07:09his way. Now that she's awake, Abby decides to get out of the vehicle to relax and puts on her

07:14cowboy boots. At that moment, she spots Mike's car passing in front of the convenience store

07:18again and begins to find the situation a little suspicious. Looking back, the girl spots Lee

07:24buying a soft drink and asks if she saw what happened, but her friend is too distracted to

07:28pay attention to the car that just passed. Abby then goes into the store to buy the magazine that

07:33Lee appeared in the previous month and says that her friend looks beautiful in that photo.

07:37That afternoon, as the girls leave the airport with Zoe, who has just arrived in the country,

07:42Mike starts photographing them and pays special attention to Abby, who becomes the main target of

07:47his pictures. After picking up Zoe, the girls drive back to the city while talking about shooting a

07:52movie they're working on. While Abby is in charge of doing the actress's makeup, Kim works as a

07:56stuntwoman in the action scenes and Lee is part of the main cast. However, the three girls are off

08:02for the next few days and are celebrating the fact that they can introduce Zoe to the city.

08:06During the conversation, the girls talk about the romances they're having on the set and Lee reveals

08:11that she slept with one of the actors who plays her in the movie. Unlike her friends who are single,

08:16Kim reveals that she has been dating a guy for three months. In the meantime, Abby had an affair

08:21with the director of the movie, but two weeks ago she was replaced by a girl from the stunt team.

08:26After updating Zoe on all the romances they've had in recent months, the girls take her to a

08:30diner and tell Lee about the movie the three of them worked on together. The shoot took place in

08:35the Philippines and Zoe, who was working as a stuntwoman, almost caused an accident that would

08:39probably have taken Abby's life. Luckily, the makeup artist was able to realize where she was

08:44just before she fell into a six-feet-deep ditch. When asked what she wants to do on her first day

08:49on the road, Zoe reveals that one of her biggest dreams is to drive a Dodge Challenger and make

08:54everyone eat dust. So, when she found out she was going to the United States, Zoe did some research

09:00in the newspaper and discovered that there's a guy in that town who's selling a white Dodge

09:04Challenger equipped with a 440 engine. Zoe's plan is to pretend that she wants to buy the car and

09:09borrow it for a test drive. That afternoon, after lunch, the four girls drive to the place indicated

09:15in the newspaper and meet Jasper, the guy who is selling the Dodge Challenger. After analyzing the

09:20vehicle, the stuntwomen are completely enchanted by it and Zoe calls Kim for a private chat.

09:25She says that if Jasper is willing to lend her the car for the test drive,

09:29she intends to do an extreme stunt known as the ship's mast, which consists of being transported

09:33on the hood of a car at high speed. Upon hearing this, Kim immediately disapproves of the idea,

09:39but Zoe manages to convince her that they will never have another chance like that.

09:43So, even against her will, Kim decides to play along and asks Lee and Abby to stay at the farm

09:48until they return, as this is the only guarantee Jasper can have that he will get his car back.

09:53Upon hearing this, Abby is furious at being left out of this adventure and says that she

09:57will convince Jasper to lend her the car without her having to stay at the farm.

10:01During the negotiation, Abby reveals the name of the hotel where she and her friends are staying

10:06and says that while the girls take the Dodge Challenger for a spin, Jasper will have the

10:10chance to meet a famous actress. When he learns that he will be spending the next few hours in

10:15Lee's company until her friends return to pick her up, Jasper agrees and the women take the car.

10:20When they arrive on the road, the stuntwomen get out of the car to agree on the rules of the race

10:24and put on their jackets before getting down to business. Zoe then removes her belt and borrows

10:29Abby's belt to tie them to each window. After making all the preparations, Kim starts the car

10:34and accelerates. When the car is at high speed, Zoe climbs out of the window and onto the roof,

10:40holding onto the belt so she doesn't fall out of the car. Soon after, she slips through the

10:44windshield and lies down on the hood. At that moment, Kim asks Abby to sit next to her in the

10:49back seat, and the woman is amazed to see the danger her friend is exposing herself to.

10:54What the three women don't realize is that, all along the way, they are being watched by Mike,

10:59who uses binoculars to follow the every move of his next victims. As soon as the Dodge Challenger

11:04approaches a certain stretch of road, the stuntman gets into his vehicle and goes after them.

11:09Suddenly, he approaches at high speed and crashes into the back of the white car.

11:13At that moment, Zoe is almost thrown off the hood, but luckily manages to hold on.

11:18However, Mike doesn't give up on his goal of causing an accident and slows down in order to

11:22gain enough distance to cause another collision. At this point, Zoe ends up unfastening her seat

11:28belt, but manages to hold onto the hood and Mike moves to the side of the vehicle in an

11:32attempt to knock her down. The man's aim is to push the car onto the shoulder, but Kim manages

11:37to get around the maneuver and asks Zoe to keep holding on. While trying to understand the reason

11:41for the attack, Abby tries to convince the man to leave them alone, but Mike ignores her

11:46completely, as he sees the whole thing as a mere joke. However, just as he was about to accomplish

11:51his goal of pushing the vehicle off the road, a pickup truck appears on the road and he is

11:56forced to swerve so as not to cause a head-on collision. During the detour, the driver of the

12:01truck ends up in an accident, but Mike soon manages to recover from the unexpected and

12:05accelerates to hit the back of the Dodge Challenger once again. His main goal is to knock Zoe off the

12:10hood, but the woman manages to hold on and Mike loses control of his car while taking a corner.

12:15After almost having two accidents, the man decides to put an end to the chase and gets out of the car

12:20to thank the girls for the fun. What he doesn't realize is that Kim is armed and doesn't think

12:25twice before pulling out her pistol to start shooting. After being shot in the arm, the man

12:29runs back to the car and manages to escape. During the sudden braking, Zoe is thrown into

12:34the undergrowth and the pair cry, believing that the girl has been eliminated. Suddenly,

12:39as if by a miracle, the stuntwoman gets up and says she's fine. Relieved, her friends start

12:44screaming and Zoe asks them what they think about going after Mike for revenge. Immediately, Kim and

12:50Abby agree to start a chase. Driven by hatred, Zoe picks up a metal pipe she found on the side of the

12:55road and the girls go after Mike. After driving for a few miles, the stuntman stopped in the

13:00middle of a dirt road to try and staunch the wound on his arm. In an attempt to reduce his pain,

13:05he grabs a bottle of booze from the glove compartment and starts drinking,

13:09but the pain only increases by the minute. While trying to calm down, Mike is surprised by the

13:14arrival of the Dodge Challenger and is hit in the back of his car. Zoe then runs towards him and

13:19starts hitting him with the pipe, but the man speeds up the vehicle and manages to escape.

13:23So the stuntwoman runs back to the car and Kim drives after him. At this point, the trio get

13:28their revenge and make up for all the times Mike has hit the back of their car. Even after hitting

13:33Mike's vehicle several times, Kim is not satisfied and decides to continue the chase.

13:38At that moment, her friends realize that the driver is going too far and ask her to stop the

13:42vehicle. However, Kim is determined to see her revenge through to the end and keeps after Mike

13:47until she reaches the highway. At that moment, the two cars cause a serious accident and a

13:52motorcyclist who had nothing to do with the brawl ends up injured. Now that he's on the road,

13:57Mike feels he has a better chance of survival and drives at high speed,

14:01dodging all the cars he meets along the way. However, not even his riskiest maneuvers are

14:06able to throw Kim off the scent, as he sees the whole thing as a mere joke. Realizing that he

14:11won't be able to get rid of the trio that easily, Mike tries to apologize for what happened and

14:15says that he didn't mean to hurt anyone. However, Kim and her friends know very well that this is

14:20not true and continue to terrorize their opponent. In an attempt to surround him, Kim pushes Mike's

14:25car onto the shoulder and he ends up running over a sign. Nevertheless, the man continues his

14:30escape and, when he sees the Dodge Challenger approaching, he brakes his vehicle abruptly.

14:35To avoid a collision, Kim turns the steering wheel to the left and her car ends up going off

14:40the road. At that moment, Mike celebrates his victory and breathes a sigh of relief,

14:44without even realizing that those three girls are still on his tail. The man is laughing at

14:49having made it out alive when suddenly his car is hit and flips over on the road. Seeing the man

14:54trapped in the wreckage begging for help, the three women get together to pull him out and

14:58start beating him. After hitting him several times, Zoey ends the attack with a kick to the
