00:00What's up guys, today we will be talking about the Galaxy A25 5G versus the S21 FE.
00:07And this is just a very good example of why you should always consider an older flagship
00:12because you'll be pretty surprised.
00:14So if you look at the price, you can find an A25 for, you know, roughly 200 bucks brand
00:20new.
00:21But you can also find an S21 FE in very good condition.
00:24This is the one I have here, a used refurbished one.
00:28And you can find these for like 225, you know, through 200 bucks depending on if it's locked
00:34or unlocked.
00:35So let's go ahead and we're going to see some pretty big differences here.
00:39So hardware wise, it's going to be a very big difference here.
00:42So the S21 FE has a premium design.
00:46So basically it's got a metal frame on here and it's got a plastic back, but it is a textured
00:52plastic back and it does not have, or a matte plastic back, and it does not have any fingerprints
00:58you can see, which always keeps it really nice and clean looking.
01:03And with the A25, this is an all plastic phone and I think they're doing a really good job
01:08with these budget phones these days because it looks really, really good.
01:12It still looks very premium, but it is plastic.
01:15When you pick it up and feel it, you can tell it's an all plastic phone.
01:18The biggest difference here is actually that the S21 FE has an IP68 dust and water resistant,
01:25which means you can get this phone wet.
01:27The A25 does not.
01:29It does not have any type of water resistant rating.
01:32So if you get it wet, drop it, you know, in the pool or something, 9 times out of 10,
01:37it's probably going to break.
01:38All right, so there are some pretty big differences here with the displays.
01:42So on the S21 FE, it's a 6.4 inch display.
01:46It's a dynamic AMOLED, 120Hz HDR10+, at 6.4 inches, 1080p 403 for the PPI.
01:54The A25 does have a 6.5 inch display, so it's a little bit bigger.
01:58And then this one is also 1080p 396 for the PPI, but this one is a super AMOLED, 120Hz,
02:05but there's no HDR10+, and it gets to 1000, it's peak brightness on here as well.
02:12So basically, you can see off rip, you get way slimmer bezels on the S21 FE.
02:21It's just way, way slimmer.
02:24And yeah, it's overall just a better display, one because of the HDR10+, and then also because
02:32of the bezel just giving it a more, you know, slimmer premium look, and then you have the
02:36punch hole instead of the sort of older looking, you know, water drop notch here.
02:41So definitely would give it to the S21 FE for display quality.
02:48But again, the S, you know, the A25 is pretty decent for, you know, a budget phone.
02:53These phones used to have really bad displays, probably like three, four years ago, it was
02:58nowhere near this good.
03:00Alright, so here's where we start to see a pretty big difference here when it comes to
03:04the CPU and processing speeds and graphics and all that stuff.
03:09So the S21 FE, it does have the Snapdragon AAA processor, 128 gigs of internal storage
03:14and 6 gigs of RAM on the base.
03:17The A50, or not the A54, but the A25, it does have the Exynos processor, and this is a 1280
03:25Exynos processor, both on Android 14.
03:28And then the base on here is 128 gigs of internal storage and also 6 gigs of RAM.
03:34So you can see the big difference in the single core and the multi-core score.
03:39Now, this might not translate over to app opening that much, in my opinion, or animations
03:45and stuff, because the A25, it is pretty fast for the most part, it's surprisingly fast,
03:50so of course it's going to be a little bit behind the S21 FE, but you will see a big
03:58difference when it comes to gaming performance, really, really big.
04:03But as far as like your overall general speed and animations and stuff, they both feel really
04:08smooth, so I've got to give props to Samsung for doing such a good job with these budget
04:14phones these days.
04:17Subway Surf, we might see a bigger difference when we get into like games a little bit.
04:22Yeah, so that was a little bit more of a bigger gap there with speed a little bit, but let's
04:30go ahead and launch PUBG here, see what we get.
04:49And it looks like the S21 FE is almost in.
04:57So, you can see there, you know, even a bigger gap when you're loading up these heavier games.
05:06But that wasn't too bad for the A25, so.
05:09Alright, so here's the massive difference when it comes to performance, you're just
05:13going to see a big difference.
05:14Now, we don't have the 90 frames option on here on the S21 FE, unfortunately it can be
05:21able to do it, it's just not optimized for it yet.
05:24But it plays at HDR extreme really well, it's very smooth at 60 frames, and it's just like
05:31a night and day sort of thing here.
05:34So if you're playing PUBG competitively, it just makes more sense to go with this phone.
05:45Look at graphics here, this is the highest we can do, balance high.
05:49You can definitely immediately tell the difference here, it just feels a little bit more choppy
05:54compared to, you know, the HDR extreme, the 60 frames, playing on a lower frame rate.
06:02But it does play this decently, it's not like it's lagging all over the place, it just doesn't
06:08look as good, and it just doesn't feel as fast.
06:11And this will translate throughout pretty much anything you do, whether it be emulators,
06:16Call of Duty Mobile, Fortnite, whatever you play, there's going to be a big difference
06:21between these two phones in terms of how well they can play the actual games.
06:26Now also another bonus with the S21 FE is that this phone actually will be receiving
06:30up to Android 16 as well, and you do get access to pretty much all of the flagship features
06:37like Samsung desktop support, reverse wireless charging, the secured folders, etc.
06:43These are things that you won't find in One UI 6, you know, on the more stripped down
06:48version on the A25 here, so just keep that in mind too.
06:54It's really good, it's still going to be really good for software updates as well.
06:57Alright, so let's test out these speakers, we're at max volume.
07:13Oh yeah, it's not even close.
07:35The A25 definitely has the better speakers here, surprisingly.
07:39The speakers just have way more bass, and they just sound fuller.
07:57Yeah Dolby Atmos didn't even help.
07:58Yeah, it just beats it in the speaker department.
08:01Really good speakers surprisingly on the A25.
08:04Alright, so let's talk about cameras because this is very interesting here.
08:08So the Galaxy S21 FE has a 12 megapixel standard, an 8 megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical,
08:16and then a 12 megapixel ultra-wide, it shoots in 4K60 with a 32 megapixel selfie cam up
08:23front that also shoots in 4K60.
08:26The A25 has a 50 megapixel standard, it shoots in 8 megapixel ultra-wide, 2 megapixel macro,
08:33so no dedicated telephoto lens on here.
08:36It only shoots in 4K60 and it has a 13 megapixel selfie that shoots in 1080p30, so you can
08:42see even though this has a bigger main camera, you'll see the difference pretty much immediately
08:48on how these phones handle dynamic range, low light, and also video quality as far as
08:56the, you can shoot in 4K60, this one can't, you can only shoot in 1080p30 on the front,
09:01this one shoots in 4K60.
09:03So there's like a big spec difference here, but yeah, check out these side-by-side photos
09:08and let me know what you guys think.
09:33Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video.
10:33Alright, so lastly, let's talk about battery life.
11:01So both of these phones do a really good job with battery life, and yeah, so the slight
11:09edge, I would probably give it to the A25, but it's very slight, I didn't really notice
11:15that big of a, like a drain difference, but it definitely has better battery life for
11:20sure.
11:21It's got a 5000 mAh battery with 25 watt charging.
11:25Now the big difference here with the S21 FE is that this has a 4500 mAh battery, you have
11:3125 watt charging, but you also have the wireless and reverse wireless charging on the S21 FE,
11:38which is something you don't have on the A25.
11:41So, you know, I just think overall, like for the battery situation, I still like the S21
11:47FE, giving me that option for wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, and they charge
11:52at the same speeds.
11:53And I think battery life is similar, but I would still give it to the A25.
11:58So let me know what you guys think.
12:01The A25 is a pretty nice phone for the most part, especially for people who want a headphone
12:06jack, want SD card support, but if you want more of a premium experience at the same price
12:12and better gaming, and yeah, I would definitely get the S21 FE, it's one of my favorite phones
12:18to recommend, but yeah, it comes down to your personal preference at the end of the day.
12:22So let me know what you guys think, I'll catch you guys in the next one.
