00:00What's up guys, we got the a34 versus the galaxy s10
00:04So if you have another request be sure to put in the comments because we're going to go ahead and move on to another device
00:10So be sure to do that before I do and this was a common question
00:15Is this a worthy upgrade? This is a good upgrade if you're coming from an s10
00:19And going to a 34, so I think that's pretty interesting
00:23So let's go ahead and jump into it. So hardware wise. It's the same story
00:29Obviously the a34 looks newer right has a more modern kind of design
00:34But it's still a plastic phone pretty much all around so it the s10 still feels just way better
00:42It's a glass and metal. It's ip68 dust and water-resistant as opposed to the ip67 and
00:48Yeah, it's just gonna feel better, and you'll notice it does have a headphone jack
00:54On here, which I'm surprised they didn't put a headphone jack on the on the a34
00:59Both these phones do have SD card support, which is very nice as well, too
01:06You will also see a pretty big size difference here as well and
01:12It is also much thicker too, but they're both pretty comfortable to hold in the hand
01:17Let's talk about the display
01:19So the s10 does have a 6.1 inch dynamic AMOLED displays HDR 10 plus at 6.1 inches
01:271440p 550 for the PPI the a34 has a 6.6 inch display
01:33It's super AMOLED 120 Hertz, and then it's 1080p 390 for the PPI
01:38So no HDR 10 plus on here as far as I can see on the spec sheet
01:44But yeah
01:45The s10 does have a better display as far as the resolution goes and also as far as the design goes it still has a
01:51more modern looking
01:53Display design with the punch hole as opposed to the the notch on here
01:58But yeah, the a34 does have the 120 Hertz and you definitely could tell the difference from 120 and 60
02:05So it does have a better display in that regard
02:09But yeah, but the s10's display is really not that bad at all
02:12It's actually a little bit better in some areas and also it does have a curve to it as well to you
02:18Which you may or may not like the a34 is completely flat
02:22All right
02:23So let's talk about the specs a little bit more
02:25The s10 got his last major OS update with Android 12 when you buy 4.1
02:30And then it's running the Snapdragon 855 and Adreno 640 GPU
02:35And then on the a34 we do have the
02:39Dimensity 1080 chip on here as well
02:42And then you also have on here microSD card support 128 gigs of internal storage and 6 gigs of RAM
02:49The s10 is 128 gigs as well and 6 gigs of RAM
02:53I think this model is actually 8 gigs of RAM though
02:55but the base is 6 as you can see the Dimensity chip looks like it's pretty much on par with the
03:02Snapdragon
03:05855 chip it's a little below in terms of the
03:09multi-core
03:11but
03:12What will surprise a lot of people is that the snapdragon 855?
03:16I think still does play better when it comes to pub G and the games a little bit
03:21I think the GPU is a little bit stronger or better optimized
03:25But as far as like bouncing in out of applications, um, yes
03:29This Dimensity chip is pretty fast as you can see it's on par with you know
03:33An older flagship pretty much as far as the speed and everything goes
03:38Which is really really cool to see that in these cheaper phones. So
03:46See here open up subway surf
03:50Yeah, so it's pretty much on par
03:52you know with this
03:54s10
03:56Yes, it is still gonna give you a pretty good gaming experience
03:59You actually get better settings on here HDR extreme and it's able to play this at 60 frames really easily without
04:07Overheating and stuff like that. So
04:09Yeah, it's still a very very good gaming phone
04:12And like I said, you can get these phones and get an s10 for probably 150 bucks
04:18Yeah, the a34 does a pretty good job, but you can't play at HDR extreme
04:23So, yeah, so the s10 is gonna play better but the a34 is pretty good if you're a casual gamer
04:29You don't play a lot of games. You don't care about having the best settings or whatever
04:34It'll do fine for the most part. But if you are looking for the the better gaming device, it would still be the s10
04:42Check out these speakers side-by-side
04:52I
04:54I
04:56I
04:58I
05:22Surprisingly the s10 is actually a little bit louder. They both sound really good
05:27And I like the sound of the s10 a little bit more
05:36That's definitely louder surprisingly
05:39Yeah, but the speakers on both these phones are really really good
05:42I do like the sound of the s10 a little bit more. It has just a more crisp sound to it
05:48Also, both these phones have the under the display fingerprint sensor, which works really well. So no issue there
05:55Yeah, so pretty much feels the same
05:58And then you also have on both of these phones face unlock that you can take advantage of there is a you know
06:04A difference obviously you're gonna get software updates and the s10 will not
06:09But you'll see that you do have Samsung desktop support, which you lack on the a34
06:14But the a34 pretty much has everything else
06:17Alright, let's check out the camera specs here
06:19The s10 has a 12 megapixel standard a 12 megapixel telephoto with 2x optical and a 16 megapixel
06:27Ultra-wide it also has 4k 60 and a 10 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 4k 60
06:33The a34 has a 48 megapixel standard and 8 megapixel ultra-wide in a 5 megapixel macro
06:40It shoots in 4k 30 and has a 13 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4k 30
06:45So, let me yeah, let me know what you guys think about the side-by-side stills
07:15You
07:45You
07:59All right, so let's talk about the battery specs
08:02So the a34 has a much bigger battery at 5,000 milliamps
08:06it's 25 watt wire charging the s10 and does have a much smaller battery a
08:123,400 milliamp hour battery 15 watt wire charging, but it does have wireless and reverse wireless charging as well
08:19Um, so basically the a34 is definitely going to get better battery life
08:24But you are gonna miss the premium features like wireless and reverse wireless charging
08:29But this does charge slightly faster than the s10 as well
08:33So it's a pretty interesting comparison you get good battery life on the s10
08:37I did a drain test about six hours even for this use, you know refurbished model
08:43But yeah, you will get slightly better battery life on the a34 for sure
08:48All right, so that's pretty much it guys. Be sure to let me know what you guys think
08:51Is this a worthy upgrade and I'll catch you guys in the next one
