00:01Oh my gosh, I can't believe this is real.
00:03I feel like I'm waking up from a dream.
00:05Not only am I good at this, but I love it.
00:08And I want this for the rest of my life.
00:11I'm just grateful to have this opportunity.
00:15All I want to say is I'm good. I'm very good.
00:18Everything is riding on this moment.
00:21Let's go.
00:23Project Runway season 19 winner right here.
00:26Ba-boom.
00:27I'm not playing. This is my future.
00:31This is my family's future.
00:33I was sleeping in my car, going to fashion school.
00:36God gave me a gift, and that gift should be able to shine.
00:39When in Project Runway, it's a big middle finger to everyone.
00:42That's it. That boy is not going to amount to anything.
00:45In this current climate where we haven't seen each other,
00:48we're dying for connection.
00:51fashion designer Christian Siriano,
00:57journalist Elaine Welteroff,
00:59fashion designer Brandon Maxwell,
01:01and editor-in-chief of Elle magazine, Nina Garcia,
01:04are looking for America's next great fashion designer.
01:07At stake for the winner,
01:09a quarter of a million dollars,
01:11supplied by Pilot Correction erasable pens,
01:13a feature in Elle magazine,
01:15and a career-changing mentorship
01:17with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
01:20This is Project Runway.
01:22Wow.
01:24Holy .
01:26Wow.
01:30Oh, my God.
01:32Oh, my God.
01:34Welcome.
01:38Hi, guys.
01:40Oh, this is for real.
01:42Yeah.
01:44Hi, designers, and welcome to Project Runway.
01:48As a celebration of the revival of New York City,
01:52Lincoln Center is championing arts,
01:55and we're standing in the physical centerpiece of it all,
01:59the green.
02:01This bold green landscape is symbolic of the power of color
02:08to inspire, to uplift, and to celebrate this new beginning.
02:13So let me tell you, now is the time
02:18for bold, in-your-face color.
02:22Okay.
02:26It's the first thing that attracts your eye.
02:29It exudes emotion,
02:31and it tells your customer who you are.
02:37This is your first challenge.
02:42Oh.
02:43A celebration of color.
02:45For your first challenge,
02:46you'll be working in two teams.
02:48Oh.
02:49Two teams.
02:50Part of my brain is like, yay,
02:52and then another part of my brain is like,
02:54son of a bitch.
02:56Welcome to Project Runway.
02:58Each team is going to create a cohesive collection
03:01of eight monochromatic, high-fashion runway looks,
03:05celebrating color.
03:06Whoa.
03:07All right, I'm going to divide you guys up.
03:08Chantal, you're warm.
03:09Katie, you're cool.
03:10Octavio, you're warm.
03:12Every other designer, warm, cool.
03:14Split into your team, warm over here, cool over here.
03:16Chantal.
03:17Chantal, Bones, nice to meet you.
03:18Bones?
03:19Yeah.
03:20I'm Katie.
03:21Team warm.
03:22Here's your half of the color wheel.
03:23Team cool.
03:24So you'll each pick one color from the wheel,
03:27and that's the only color you get to use.
03:29This is a two-day challenge.
03:31Yeah.
03:32And someone from the losing team will be out.
03:35No pressure.
03:36And one last thing.
03:37We don't want you to worry about
03:39what the other team is doing.
03:40Warm team, you'll be working days,
03:42and cool team, you'll be working in the evening.
03:44Now it's time to get to work.
03:47Good luck.
03:48Good luck.
03:49Good luck.
03:51We are on Broadway fans.
03:53Normally, to make a cohesive collection,
03:55you can use color,
03:56but when everybody has a different color
03:58and we can't even borrow colors
04:00from everybody else,
04:01we had to find other ways to make it cohesive.
04:04One, two, three.
04:05One, two, three.
04:08Okay, can we just talk about whatever color
04:10you're eyeing right now?
04:11I want magenta.
04:12Gold.
04:13I'll do the gold.
04:14I'll take the red.
04:15Okay, I'll take the orange.
04:16We are presenting a whole collection,
04:18so we need something that could connect us.
04:21What kind of styles do you guys design?
04:23Sparkles, sequins, and street wear.
04:25I do entertainment fashion.
04:26Honestly, I live in a world of drag queens.
04:28The looks that I create screams fabulous.
04:31Where does that accent come from?
04:33I live in Jackson, Mississippi.
04:34Okay, come on.
04:35But I grew up in West Virginia, unfortunately.
04:38All the guys in my town wanted to be football players.
04:41I wanted to be Miss America or a figure skater.
04:44I was not confident in myself.
04:46One night, somebody painted my face in drag,
04:49and confidence started happening.
04:51I love doing evening wear,
04:53and I love 70s, 80s, 90s.
04:56We have four pairs of pants,
04:58and then the rest are dresses.
04:59I do feel like we have two different collections here.
05:02There has to be, like, an element that, like,
05:04really pulls it together.
05:05So, who is comfortable designing for plus size?
05:09I am, because I am a juicy bitch.
05:11We have one more pretty plus size woman.
05:13The fashion industry doesn't create garments
05:16for a plus size woman.
05:18And so, it's like, okay, fashion industry,
05:20you don't want those customers.
05:21I do.
05:22I've done it before.
05:23I can help you.
05:24Okay.
05:25So, we're good with colors and our models, right?
05:27We need to talk about a theme,
05:28and then from there, a design detail.
05:30Why don't we create, like, flowers?
05:33The flower blooming is a good rebirth.
05:36Like, a roundness.
05:37Like, romantic.
05:38Yeah, definitely romantic.
05:39Romantic, yeah.
05:40Okay.
05:41On the sleeves, I would love to create the bows,
05:43and I would like to have one on the back.
05:45I really like your bow idea.
05:47I would love to bring that detail into mine.
05:51I can interpret this top into the connecting bows.
05:56Question.
05:57Is our concept still a flower?
06:00I feel like we need more of a story,
06:02because the story will really help us.
06:04I feel like we're going to a dinner.
06:06You know?
06:07Like, freedom.
06:08Like, being alive.
06:09The thing is that we haven't seen the fabrics yet.
06:11Yeah.
06:12Because when you see the fabrics,
06:13what you just draw, maybe change.
06:15Shop for, like, 20 minutes on your own,
06:16and then come together at 21 minutes?
06:18Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:19Yeah.
06:20Oh, I'm stressed.
06:21Take me to the mood, please.
06:23Yay!
06:25You guys ready to go check out our new house?
06:26Yeah.
06:27Yeah.
06:28Sounds good.
06:29Yeah.
06:38Oh.
06:39Oh, fancy.
06:40Super gorge.
06:41Like, the furnishings, everything.
06:43I'm like, okay, peak New York.
06:45What up?
06:46However, we know that the other team is directly above us
06:51on the other floors.
06:52So, it's kind of sleeping with the enemy.
07:00Hello, warm team.
07:01It's your first trip to Mood.
07:03Yeah!
07:04I know.
07:05It's really weird to be here with only eight people.
07:07You know, it's your first challenge.
07:09Well, you'll have 45 minutes, but you have $400.
07:12Yay!
07:13Go!
07:16Aggressive.
07:21Oh, my God, I've never bought fabric this fast before.
07:24Five yards of this one?
07:26I wonder what stuff my team is going with, too, honestly.
07:30I hope you guys are all chatting about this cohesive
07:32collection that's supposed to be happening.
07:34I picked the side.
07:35I don't like the way that came out.
07:36Oh, Lord, who's getting sequins?
07:38You know it.
07:39My color is gold.
07:40You're getting all these fabrics?
07:41Well, I'm hoarding.
07:42I want my first introduction to be 100% daring.
07:46I love dressing people to make them feel like rock stars.
07:49So, for this challenge, it's kind of like a runaway prom queen
07:53going to a New Year's Eve party-ish.
07:57All right, designers, 20 minutes.
07:59Hey, are you cut already?
08:01I cut lines.
08:02You cut already?
08:03Yes.
08:04Oh, gosh.
08:05Our plan just goes out the window.
08:06I thought we were going to meet at 20 minutes, remember?
08:08Some people are already cutting fabrics.
08:10Some people are already in line.
08:12And I'm like, I thought we had a plan here.
08:14We need to make sure our fabrics look, like,
08:16somewhat in the same world.
08:17This is not the way to do it.
08:19How was the meeting?
08:20It didn't go too well.
08:21It didn't go great.
08:22All right.
08:23Who else is cut?
08:24My heart is coming out of my chest.
08:32There we are.
08:34Oh.
08:35My.
08:36God.
08:37Holy.
08:38This is incredible.
08:39Oh, my God.
08:40The wall.
08:41That's so beautiful.
08:42Okay, grab your sketchbooks.
08:43Our main concern is the cohesiveness.
08:46We need to be very assertive about our storyline,
08:49because if we are going to dinner and a show,
08:52like, how do I want to look at dinner and a show?
08:54Okay.
08:55All right.
08:56So it's all nightlife.
08:57Yeah.
08:58Teamwork, guys.
08:59Teamwork.
09:00That's it.
09:01You said you'd be sewing live on IG.
09:03I never show people my process.
09:05Everybody knows Dope Tavio this, Dope Tavio that,
09:08the guy with the red mustache.
09:10He does the avant-garde street stuff.
09:12You have to have some kind of balls to wear my stuff.
09:15Mami, como te siente?
09:17Bien, bien.
09:18I'm making a palazo pants with a beautiful blazer
09:24with texture in the sleeve.
09:26I'm going to be tense.
09:28When I was 27 years old, I was one of the finalists
09:33of Project Runway Latino America.
09:35It allowed me to open Chantal Lacayo brand.
09:39We produce in Nicaragua, and being in Project Runway USA,
09:43I want to show my brand to the world.
09:45Like, what the hell?
09:47I've never used these machines.
09:49Growing up in Lynchburg, Virginia,
09:51which is just like it sounds,
09:54I was just like, this is not for me.
09:56I'm moving to New York.
09:57I got to get the out of here.
10:01That's not straight.
10:02I got it.
10:10Welcome to Moon.
10:11You guys want, like, a little tour?
10:13I can show you what the other team bought?
10:14Yes.
10:15And their sketches?
10:16No.
10:17But, all right, time starts now.
10:19Go.
10:20Where's Tami now?
10:21Oh, my God!
10:22Eight designers working together to find a common theme.
10:27Not only do we have different tastes,
10:29we have different concepts of what that means
10:31and how we communicate it.
10:32Okay, I...
10:33Can I actually cut or not?
10:34Yes.
10:35Some of us went a little askew from the original plan.
10:37I'm sticking with the idea of a flower as opposed to a bow.
10:41Is this going to be a cohesive collection?
10:43Very cohesive.
10:44Mm-hmm.
10:45All right, designers, that's time.
11:03How does everybody feel?
11:04I feel good.
11:05Yeah?
11:06How does everybody feel?
11:09I feel good.
11:10Yeah?
11:11Hi, everybody.
11:12Hello.
11:13Oh, Jesus.
11:15You guys do not seem very excited.
11:18We're stressed.
11:19Stressed?
11:20Excited.
11:21Excited.
11:22All right, Darren, what's happening?
11:23I want it to be my big skirt, and ideally, I want this whole thing to be in sequins.
11:27Gold sequins can be intense.
11:30Maybe that intensity will stand out from the group.
11:33Does the team kind of know what you're doing?
11:35None of them have anything similar or anything sparkly at all.
11:38But no one's really chatting with each other.
11:40Right.
11:41We'll see how that goes.
11:42Good luck.
11:43Thank you so much.
11:45All right, Kenneth, what's happening?
11:47It's a crap in skirt.
11:48How do you think this is fitting in with everybody else?
11:50Our girl, she's like going to like an evening wear, like a ready-to-wear vibe.
11:54So everyone's doing a little more evening.
11:56Somewhat.
11:57Yes.
11:58So that's where we at.
11:59Okay.
12:00We'll see.
12:01We'll see how it looks like.
12:02Mm-hmm.
12:05All right, Chantal, what's happening?
12:08Uh, suit.
12:09Mm-hmm.
12:10I choose leather.
12:11We've got leather, gold sequin evening couture, crop top.
12:15I think as a collection, kind of everybody's on their own right now.
12:18It's been a little rough.
12:20Right.
12:21All right.
12:22Good luck.
12:27All right, Octavio.
12:28How's it going?
12:29It's going.
12:30What I'm doing is the oversized hair on Pam.
12:33This is totally different than pretty much everything else happening because it is so dramatically oversized.
12:39I want her to look like the red carpet.
12:41She's the whole red carpet.
12:42The whole red carpet.
12:44I'm excited to see it.
12:46Hello.
12:47What I want to do?
12:48What are you making?
12:49It's a pant.
12:50It's a pant.
12:51Yeah, she's curvy and I want to like accentuate that waistline.
12:54Mm-hmm.
12:55So it's like sexier.
12:56It's sexier.
12:57But as a collection, I don't know how any of this is making sense at all.
13:01Okay, let me tell you.
13:02Tell me.
13:03When a group of girls get together and go to a dinner and go to a show, they're not going
13:06to all wear the same thing.
13:07Mm-hmm.
13:08All right, guys.
13:09I think there's a lot of really great ideas, but making this a collection, not so sure yet.
13:17All right, well, good luck.
13:18I'll see you for a model fitting next.
13:21Bye, guys.
13:24I'm happy with what I'm looking at right now.
13:26This is really cute.
13:27I'm sorry.
13:28It looks cohesive.
13:29It feels like a story.
13:30I feel like we need to hide our stuff so that nobody gets a peek at what we're doing.
13:35Tomorrow I come here.
13:36There's a string missing in that dress.
13:39I'm fighting somebody.
13:40All right, guys.
13:41Let's go.
13:42Well, well, well, let's put it in.
13:45Rule number one in the art of war is know thy enemy.
13:49So I'm dying to know what the warm team is doing, but I got nothing.
13:55Team challenge.
13:56We're all in this together.
13:58Love it.
13:59But, like, next challenge, I'll cut you.
14:06Both of our girls, they got a little hip, so we need to pat out the ass.
14:10Those look like eyes.
14:11Um, this is a rump.
14:13I hate people that take plus-size women, and they're like, Poncho, here you go.
14:17I don't want to cover her up, but for the purple color, this is what I wanted to do.
14:23From a very young age, I told my mom, I'm going to go to New York and become a fashion designer.
14:28I found fashion by watching old films like the 40s and the 50s and the 60s, and I just keep thinking about these spy trench coats from the 1940s and how that mixed with lavender could be, like, this fun, quirky spin.
14:45This is a coat, and then I'm going to do a romper underneath.
14:48That's what I want to do.
14:49Oh, I just got goosebumps.
14:51Is anybody doing, like, any cutouts or peek-a-boo of skin?
14:56Everybody is focused on their look right now.
14:59A little nerve-wracking because I don't want to be the only one stuck without a bow, and then I'm called out for not being cohesive.
15:10Is anyone adding a bow?
15:12Yes.
15:13The biggest bow you can think of.
15:15Boo!
15:16We're going to tie our whole collection together with the bow and make it look cohesive, make sure they go together, and it's a wow factor.
15:25Okay, I'm just testing this.
15:27I like the tunnel.
15:28I want to make a built voluminous bow top with almost like petals coming out of a flower.
15:35I'm from Afghanistan, and my designs are inspired by Afghani shapes and structures.
15:40But when you grow up in years and years upon years of war, it's hard to imagine that my dream is to go to America and be a fashion designer.
15:48That didn't really exist in my head.
15:51Oh.
15:53Hi, guys.
15:54Oh, no.
15:55He's here.
15:56Hi.
15:57How is the cool team doing?
15:58I'm scared.
15:59Hi.
16:00How are you?
16:01Me?
16:02Who do you think I'm looking at?
16:03You're just walking through in a ghost outfit.
16:04I don't know what.
16:07What's happening?
16:08One second.
16:09I'm gonna explain you.
16:10Okay.
16:11So, gonna be bow here, and it's gonna be long tails here as well.
16:15Is everybody doing bows?
16:17In some way, yes.
16:18In some way.
16:19Okay, well, then that's cool.
16:20Is there a story to the bows at all?
16:22Why?
16:23What's the reason?
16:24Or is it just something we love?
16:26Where is she going?
16:27What is she doing?
16:28She's celebrating.
16:29She's just celebrating.
16:30She's just celebrating.
16:33All right, Chastity.
16:34So, I'm making a jumpsuit with a bow.
16:39Well, I actually think that that could be really cool.
16:42Just to make sure that it's somewhat new and innovative.
16:45That's what you should do.
16:46I'm gonna play around what the bows is gonna look like
16:47and where it's gonna be placed.
16:48Yeah.
16:49Mm-hmm.
16:50Thank you, Christian.
16:51You're welcome.
16:52All right, Casey.
16:53Hi.
16:54Hi.
16:55What's your color?
16:56Lavender.
16:57Lavender.
16:58I need to do an outerwear piece.
16:59A coat dress.
17:00Oh.
17:01Interesting.
17:02You kind of just have a ruffle coat dress.
17:03How is it fitting in?
17:04Right.
17:05Right.
17:06Right.
17:07Yeah, I'm asking.
17:08No, I know.
17:09I had bows originally.
17:11I mean, you guys have to kind of lock in this story, too.
17:14Mm-hmm.
17:15That might help you.
17:16Mm-hmm.
17:17Maybe there's a way to develop that more.
17:19Okay.
17:20Great.
17:21Good luck.
17:23I'll need it.
17:24Woo!
17:26All right, guys.
17:27What are you guys gonna say on the runway when the judges ask you, what is your story?
17:32Why are you making these clothes?
17:34What inspires you about them?
17:36Because no one seems to be able to tell me the reason.
17:39You know, why does this collection belong on this runway?
17:42Goal!
17:43Goal!
17:44Goal!
17:45Goal!
17:46Goal!
17:47Goal!
17:49Okay, so I think that we need to come to some type of clarity as to who our girl is and where
17:55she's going.
17:56We know that Nina's gonna ask that.
17:57Brandon is gonna ask that.
17:59Our girls can be anywhere.
18:01We don't need to go like to the gallery or somewhere else.
18:04I love the opera, a lot of the opera.
18:06I feel like it's like the VIP party
18:08before the gallery opens.
18:09You guys are all doing beautiful stuff.
18:11I think we're complicating it,
18:13overthinking it way too much.
18:15And I think we've done a lot of evening wear,
18:18it seems like.
18:18I think they're gonna be cohesive.
18:20I agree.
18:21Tomorrow is the pants.
18:26Beep, beep.
18:28We'll clean it later.
18:29So guys, are you ready?
18:31All right, y'all, let's get out.
18:33Freedom.
18:38I am so freaking ready.
18:40Oh, back to work.
18:42Come on, lots to do.
18:45How are you doing, how are you doing, how are you doing?
18:47I'm good, honey, how are you doing?
18:48Good, lots to do, but.
18:50We have enough time.
19:01Hi, guys.
19:02Hi, Christian.
19:03How is Team Warm feeling?
19:05Pretty good.
19:06Warm and cozy?
19:07Yeah.
19:08Who's ready for a model?
19:09I am.
19:10I'm excited.
19:12Let's do it.
19:16Wow, I think gorgeous.
19:18I don't have to take you in, because it's perfect.
19:25Is it tight?
19:26No.
19:26Do you feel comfortable?
19:27The length and the hem, I need to finish that still.
19:30I feel like it needs to be shorter.
19:31Mm-hmm.
19:32I just think, I don't know, I think that this is going to be really hard for them.
19:38This, for me, scares me the most.
19:41This looks so cheap now.
19:42You just have a gold bandeau with a bubbled weird...
19:45Right.
19:46Okay.
19:47We've got a lot of issues.
19:48Right.
19:49Right.
19:50Okay.
19:51You've got to really work on this right now.
19:52Hey, Warm Team, are we lining everybody up together?
19:55Yes.
19:57Did y'all remember your number?
19:59Yes.
20:00Who was the first?
20:01I love everything.
20:02We do?
20:03Yes.
20:04We love everything in this room?
20:05We love everything in this room.
20:07Right?
20:08Yes.
20:09Yeah.
20:10I love everything in this room.
20:19I'm here to help you.
20:20I would love to give you opinions, but...
20:22But we're a team right now.
20:23We have to all decide on how we feel.
20:25I mean, I don't need to be here, because there's issues with every single one of these looks,
20:30so you guys first should work on that.
20:32This is all gonna fall down the hill.
20:37Just trying not to panic, because...
20:39Dude, take a deep breath.
20:40It will be okay.
20:42The amount of work that I think I have to do left is overwhelming.
20:47I felt like I had a good, solid piece that I was pleased about, but Christian, he basically
20:52flat-out said that, of all eight looks, he was worried about mine the most.
20:57Once I'm done, I'm down to help.
20:59All right, everybody!
21:01Let's pack this bitch up!
21:03Thumbs up!
21:04I am hungry, I am tired, and I am hot.
21:08Let's go!
21:09Hi, guys!
21:10Hi!
21:12Look at this!
21:14All right!
21:15Today is gonna be a good day.
21:17I've gotta find my dress form.
21:19Oh, yeah.
21:20This is gonna be great.
21:21Okay.
21:22Perfect.
21:25Hello, everybody!
21:26Feeling excited for models?
21:28Ah!
21:29Muslin!
21:30They're here!
21:31I'm so excited!
21:32You're my model!
21:33Yes!
21:34Yes!
21:35I'm very glad you are, so...
21:39I'm so happy!
21:40You look so good, and all it is is muslin!
21:46Hi, Christian!
21:47Hi!
21:48Pretty?
21:49Thank you, Christian!
21:50You're welcome.
21:51It's getting a sleeve?
21:53Yeah, I just need to iron to make it work.
21:55I think that looks pretty.
21:56It is great.
21:57Good luck.
21:58If I cut this, then I can, like, put it quickly, at least strip it to see where things hit.
22:03Well, this is pretty.
22:04The back's pretty.
22:05I was going to have maybe peek-a-boo here, and have a back.
22:09And have a bow.
22:11I think that looks cool.
22:12You just have a lot of finishing to do.
22:14I see pins everywhere but the hem.
22:16I do.
22:18Okay.
22:19I'm really loving these fabrics together.
22:21What is that here?
22:22It's going to be, like, a flap from, like, a trench coat.
22:25You love that flap right on her boob?
22:28You don't love it?
22:29You've got to edit a little bit.
22:31Why don't you take a few things off really quick and see what it does?
22:34All right.
22:35Team cool!
22:36Did you guys get together at all to see everyone together?
22:39So, we are about to do that right now.
22:41Are you guys doing this in order of the color wheel?
22:43It probably should.
22:44What do you think?
22:45Where are we going?
22:47What did we decide?
22:48The art, something in the arts.
22:49The opera.
22:50Not the opera.
22:51The art gallery.
22:52Not the opera.
22:53The art show.
22:54I'm nervous.
22:55I did not know that there would be so many things not finished.
23:00We need help.
23:03Is there any element that you guys could bring in that is going to make this a little similar?
23:08That's going to be the bows.
23:10Yeah.
23:11It's not a cohesive collection.
23:12And the only thing what we can do right now is to make it work together with one particular element.
23:22That's the boob.
23:23And...
23:24Good luck tonight.
23:25And I will see you early tomorrow for your first runway.
23:28Hi!
23:29Think, think, think, think, think, think, think, think, think, think.
23:33I'm making a few adjustments to where the bow placement is.
23:36I've worked with bows in the past and I think a bow can be elegant or it can read off as junior.
23:43I just am tripped up on where I'm going to add it.
23:46This would be the tail.
23:48My intuition says do the thing with the bow and then make the best out of this.
23:53I'm losing my voice and my patience.
23:57I'm not putting a bow on my garment.
24:01Sorry.
24:02You get what I originally designed and what I bought fabric for.
24:07I feel a little defeated right now.
24:23You get to see the other team today, right?
24:25Yeah.
24:26I'm not happy that we're gonna, like, finally meet them.
24:30Me too.
24:31Go!
24:32Let's go!
24:33Hey!
24:34Come on, guys.
24:35Runway day!
24:37What's up?
24:38Y'all look cute or whatever.
24:40Y'all ready for the runway?
24:41Your teammates.
24:42Come on.
24:43Show day, baby.
24:44Christina, right?
24:45It's me.
24:46To just see what everyone else is doing.
24:47It makes me feel uncomfortable.
24:49Not fully confident with what I have so far.
24:51Hi, everybody.
24:52Hi!
24:53Hi!
24:54Hi!
24:55Do you guys wanna come over here and gather around?
24:58All right, designers.
24:59There are only 16 of you here now.
25:01And only one of you is gonna take home the grand prize.
25:06A quarter of a million dollars supplied by Pilot FriXion erasable pens, which you guys have
25:13been using for sketching and erasing in the workroom.
25:16You're welcome.
25:17All right, guys, this is your first runway day.
25:19Yeah.
25:20Are we nervous?
25:21Yes.
25:22Mm-hmm.
25:23Who wants a model?
25:24I do.
25:25Me!
25:26Yes.
25:27Here they come.
25:28Hey, Grace!
25:29Hey!
25:30Try to get this, and then I'll throw it on you.
25:32What's your name?
25:33Chastity.
25:34Chastity, nice to meet you.
25:35Bones.
25:36Bones?
25:37Yeah.
25:38I love it!
25:39When you're ready, take your models to the Tresme hair salon and the Maybelline makeup
25:42studio.
25:43All right, let's go do this.
25:44Brianna, you ready for makeup, baby?
25:45We are station four.
25:46Flawless face.
25:47Clean.
25:48Right?
25:49Hair's going to be high ponytail.
25:53Casey.
25:54Hi.
25:55What's happening?
25:56I have to put the collar on and the hem.
25:58The hem.
25:59And the lining.
26:00Is there lining?
26:01There's no lining.
26:02Maybe not.
26:03Just a facing.
26:05The skirt is not yet done.
26:08We're just doing simple, clean line in our color.
26:11Everyone else is going back and forth to hair and makeup.
26:14I'm just worried about not being able to finish my dress.
26:18I need a fabric.
26:19Darren, how you doing?
26:20You okay?
26:21No.
26:22Darren, do you have any more fabric?
26:23Where you going?
26:24Where you going?
26:25I'm just going to smoke.
26:26I just need a break.
26:27There's 30 minutes left before we go to the runway and Darren doesn't have a full look together.
26:32Give me this.
26:33No, I need...
26:34No, you need to get inside.
26:35Now.
26:36Tie the circle skirt.
26:37You're not going down.
26:38I'm not.
26:39No, I'm not.
26:40What do you need to do for him?
26:41I'm like shaking.
26:42Stop shaking.
26:43Stop worrying.
26:44It's go time.
26:45What's her chest?
26:47I forgot.
26:48I took this fabric, run it to Mimi while she's in makeup and hair.
26:52Strap it around her really fast just to see what the measurements were.
26:56Take it to the sewing machine and got to work.
27:00He needs the most help out of anybody.
27:02He needs it badly.
27:03He's like having a breakdown.
27:05Bones.
27:06I definitely got to pull it out.
27:08I feel like I do work well under pressure.
27:10I'm going to make an alternate dress just in case, okay?
27:13This is definitely a make it work moment.
27:16Come on.
27:23I'm going to drape the bow on her.
27:25No, no, no.
27:26That's...
27:27Let's see how it is in the current.
27:29Sabrina.
27:30Yes.
27:31What are you doing?
27:32Finding solutions.
27:33I wish that the bow was the luminous bow that I imagined and that there was just a drape around her.
27:39This is not the representation of me in any shape or form.
27:43Five minutes.
27:44Last looks are happening here.
27:47What is happening?
27:48Magic.
27:49He helped me a lot.
27:51You think?
27:52You have a sequin gown.
27:54I mean, stunning.
27:56But is it going to fall down?
27:58Not at all.
27:59Okay.
28:00You guys have two minutes.
28:02Ugh.
28:03Ugh.
28:04The hem.
28:05Oh.
28:08We're going to head backstage.
28:09We're shaking.
28:10Let's go.
28:11This way.
28:12Line up your models.
28:14Hurry up.
28:17All right, designers.
28:18That's it.
28:19Time.
28:20.
28:21Coming up.
28:23She has all this fabric piled up here in the front.
28:26I can't even see that she has a waist.
28:27You could have done without the bow.
28:28You knew it.
28:29You should have trusted your gut.
28:38Hi, designers.
28:39Hi.
28:40Hi, guys.
28:41Oh.
28:42Back to school.
28:43First day.
28:44Oh.
28:46Designers, welcome to your first show.
28:51I want you to meet our guest judge, Jason Wu.
28:55Hi, designers.
28:56Oh.
28:57He's dressed the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Regina King, and our first lady, Michelle Obama.
29:02No big deal.
29:03No big deal.
29:04No big deal.
29:05Whatever.
29:06Let's get it started.
29:07Oh.
29:08Oh.
29:20The dress is so beautiful.
29:22Thank you, Bones, for saving my ass.
29:26Wow.
29:27This is my first introduction as a designer to the whole world.
29:34And it's a dress that I did not make.
29:37And I'm devastatingly embarrassed by that.
29:46I think it looks beautiful.
29:47Sarah is selling it.
29:48Her skirt fits perfectly.
29:51It's definitely me.
29:53It's very clean.
29:54I'm really happy with this look.
30:03My dress, it looks well-finished.
30:05They have no threads coming out.
30:07Everything is just perfect.
30:10She got a pocket.
30:11She got a pocket.
30:12Wow.
30:20Creating a look with just one color is challenging.
30:24But the model looks so amazing on the burnt orange dress.
30:29I am so happy that I was able to deliver.
30:32Oh, my God.
30:38That's my look.
30:39It looks amazing.
30:42But she could throw on this bomber and go to a great dinner with her partner.
30:47I'm not sure what the judges will say.
30:49I just, I love it.
30:50I love it.
30:51I love it.
30:52I love it.
30:53I love it.
30:56I can't believe I made it onto Project Runway and I'm showing something.
31:00You know, it's totally me.
31:05I'm excited to see that Elaine is wearing all red.
31:08I guess red is the color right now.
31:14Mami!
31:16When I saw that pink suit in the runway, I felt so good.
31:20I felt so relieved.
31:21Woo!
31:22I did something wearable, unique, and express what I want to show everybody.
31:34This is the moment that I wanted to create for myself and for my model.
31:41I feel like a rock star because I didn't just make one outfit during this challenge.
31:45I made three.
31:48Yes, ma'am.
31:50I made one for Grace, one for myself, and one to help out a teammate.
31:54But when I look at, like, the lineup of what we have,
32:00it looks cohesive.
32:01It feels like a story.
32:03I feel very confident in where we are.
32:06It was great.
32:07Good job, guys.
32:09Some really good ones.
32:10My model looks like what I wanted her to look like.
32:21She just looks effortless.
32:26I'm happy.
32:31I feel like I was able to keep my identity while still being a team player.
32:35You know, I added this bow at the back to be like my group.
32:41I hand-painted it.
32:43So I'm pretty happy about my completed look.
32:54I'm from a different culture, a different background.
32:57Am I going to be accepted?
32:59I'm hoping the judges see I have a point of view.
33:05And they see passion.
33:11All the ruffles and all the drama of this dress.
33:14I think it's beautiful.
33:16You should be able to recreate the bow the way you see that
33:20and answering your aesthetic.
33:24And I do hope that the judges can see that.
33:31I actually don't mind the bow.
33:33But I feel like I lost a little bit of my voice trying to compromise so much to make sure the look was cohesive.
33:48It's Dariana.
33:50She is a curvy goddess.
33:52I don't have a bow like some of my other teammates, but I feel confident with my own design.
34:03I'm really proud of it.
34:04I'm hoping that the judges see my attempt at making a piece that was very tailored and intricate.
34:16I have so many ideas that I just didn't get to do.
34:20She looks beautiful in it.
34:22It fits her so well.
34:23I'm proud of myself for what I did in the time I had.
34:26The simplicity, the luxury, and the fit was everything.
34:35She is stunning.
34:37But I didn't use the bow because it's a little bit childish to me.
34:41The cool team, we have different lengths, different shape, different fabric.
34:48It is not a cohesive collection.
34:50Congratulations, designers!
34:56This is how you come back from a pandemic.
35:00When you haven't seen a woman walk down the runway in so long, I feel like I've been in the desert with no water.
35:08I just felt like a breath of fresh air come out. Congratulations to you.
35:14Now, both teams, please step up to the runway.
35:24Designers, remember, the winner of the challenge will come from the winning team, and someone from the losing team will be out.
35:41Congrats on your first show.
35:43Thank you so much.
35:44It's challenging to make a cohesive collection just with one person in a six-month period.
35:50So, great job, everyone, on two days.
35:53Thank you so much.
35:55So, designers, we have all the scores.
35:59And the winning team is...
36:05The warm team.
36:06Oh, my God.
36:11Cool team.
36:14You can leave the runway.
36:24Warm team.
36:26Welcome to Project Runway.
36:28Nice to see you.
36:30What would you say was the cohesive thread throughout the entire collection?
36:33So, we saw ladies coming to the city to enjoy, like, a nice dinner and a show at the Met.
36:39We were inspired by seeing this new, vibrant energy.
36:42What you were trying to portray, I felt.
36:46And so, I commend you on that.
36:48There were three looks on your team that blew us away.
36:52Let's get the first one out here.
36:53Nice.
36:54Hi.
36:55Oh, wow.
36:56So, Otavio, your look was one of my favorites.
36:58It's satin and stretched lyrics.
36:59But it works.
37:00I was like, you know what?
37:01I'm gonna go for it.
37:02I do things with a lot of volumes and ruffles.
37:04So, in terms of, like, the pants, it's a pant you've made before?
37:07Yeah, yeah, yeah.
37:08It's full on my aesthetic.
37:09Look, Otavio, does the jacket come off?
37:10Yeah.
37:11Love.
37:12Red.
37:13Passion.
37:14And bold.
37:15I'm very proud of my piece.
37:16You should be.
37:17Can exit.
37:18Let's bring it out another one of our favorites.
37:22Let me guess whose look that is.
37:24Bones, you had one of the highest scores on the team.
37:27Congratulations.
37:28How does it feel?
37:30I really don't know if it's a very good one.
37:31The UFC is a big thing.
37:32The UFC is a big round.
37:34The UFC is a big part of my body.
37:35It's a big part of our neck and legs.
37:39But they're great.
37:40They're kind of old.
37:41I mean, they're pretty good.
37:42They're very I'm old.
37:43It's easy to take care of the body.
37:44But they're very proud of that.
37:46How does it feel?
37:47I have dreamt of this moment for a long time.
37:50You clearly have a point of view.
37:52This is a beautifully done garment.
37:54I really wanted to just celebrate a black body
37:57and a curvy woman.
37:58The drape is fantastic.
38:00Seeing the two of you looking like a whole queen
38:03and a whole king, we need this imagery.
38:06There's a dignity.
38:07There's an elegance.
38:09It's brilliant.
38:10I got on mascara, don't do this.
38:12It's brilliant.
38:13Thank you, Bones and Grace.
38:15We have one more favorite look.
38:17Let's see who it is.
38:26Whoo!
38:33This is one of the best pieces that went down the runway.
38:37Very classic, very polished, very chic.
38:39I can see this on the red carpet.
38:41Darren, how do you feel?
38:43Surprised.
38:44This was made in the last 30 minutes.
38:4730 minutes?
38:48Yes.
38:49My team helped me, especially Bones.
38:51You saved my ass, Bones.
38:54So you got team.
38:55Wait, Bones, which part of this did you
38:57have the biggest hand in?
38:59Almost all of it.
39:00All of it?
39:01Oh my gosh.
39:03I can't believe he made it.
39:05I'm just curious how it feels to be presenting something that
39:08doesn't sound like it's totally you.
39:10Trust me, I was worried about that.
39:12Yeah.
39:13You guys might not be here as the winning team if it weren't for
39:16Bones chipping in to help.
39:18You can leave the runway and please send back the other team.
39:22All right.
39:23Thank you for you.
39:24Wish you the best.
39:25God bless you all.
39:27Team cool.
39:28Three designers had the lowest scores on the team.
39:30Let's get the first one out here.
39:31Oh my God.
39:32Oh no.
39:33Sabrina, what kind of designer would you say you are?
39:49This is one of my own.
39:51So I'm very into luxury, feminine, chic, playing with draping and structure.
39:58You present yourself in such a modern way.
40:02There's this like unisex quality.
40:04And then this is so girly.
40:06So I'm curious what inspired you to go the gown route.
40:09I've done other gowns in the past.
40:11And I started off wanting to do a structured bow, playing with shapes and bringing something
40:16new and bringing this kind of aesthetic.
40:18But playing with the drape of the fabric and seeing that it does its own thing, a little
40:22bit lost myself in the process.
40:26I messed up.
40:27It's okay.
40:30Sabrina, have a cry and express yourself.
40:34But let yourself learn from this experience and be better from it.
40:39Thank you so much.
40:40Thank you, Sabrina.
40:42Let's get the next model out here.
40:44Casey, do you want to tell us about your look?
40:54I took a lot of evolutions.
40:56I like masculine mixed with feminine.
40:59I like the design and where it's going, but it's not finished.
41:03So it's a coat?
41:05Yeah.
41:06I mean, it's a coat dress.
41:07Yes.
41:08You know, I think the color actually looks lovely on your model.
41:10You've covered her all up.
41:12And I wish to see a little bit more of her.
41:14And I wanted to work with her curves because they're gorgeous.
41:17She has all this fabric piled up here in the front.
41:20I can't even see that she has a waist.
41:22It's about execution and details and about editing at the end of the day.
41:26But in this case, you could have used some editing.
41:30Thank you, Casey and Ivana.
41:33Okay.
41:34Let's get the next model out here.
41:39Chasity, who would you say you are as a designer?
41:47I'd describe it as like powerfully romantic.
41:50Do you mind turning around?
41:54I think you choked in terms of the top half of your design.
42:00Something happened here where you ran out of ideas.
42:03It doesn't even fit her right.
42:04I definitely would have done something different if we were all just going to be every man for
42:08themselves.
42:09But there was supposed to be more bows happening than other looks.
42:13You could have done without the bow.
42:14You knew it.
42:15You should have trusted your gut.
42:18Thank you, designers.
42:19You can all leave the runway.
42:24Aww.
42:25I'm proud of being here.
42:27You should be.
42:28We are.
42:29It's like a beautiful experience.
42:31Yeah.
42:32If I make it, don't utter the word bow to me.
42:35Seriously.
42:36I'm not putting the bow on another goddamn thing.
42:37You're never putting a bow on anything ever again.
42:41All right, guys.
42:42Let's start with the fun part.
42:44Let's figure out who won.
42:46I think Darren agrees.
42:47It's not Darren.
42:48Yeah.
42:49I think he does too.
42:50Darren got lucky tonight.
42:52Bones, for many different reasons.
42:54Bones.
42:55He was the leader.
42:56He helped.
42:57He even got the person who was on the bottom to the top.
43:00That's right.
43:01I love that combination that he did for that shawl piece.
43:06He's in it to win it.
43:09I think where Octavio did have some sort of a leg up was that he really nailed the monochromatic
43:16portion of the challenge.
43:18Octavio has a point of view.
43:20And it looked fantastic.
43:22He really hit that out of the park.
43:25So we know who the winner is?
43:27Yep.
43:28Yes.
43:29All right.
43:30Now we have to figure out who's going home.
43:31I think we have to talk about Sabrina, bad prom dress.
43:35It's a hard choice, but it's definitely between Chassidy and Casey.
43:40I can tell you immediately with Casey's look that I had a reaction that I'm like, it's
43:43a lavender bathroom.
43:45But I loved the color and I thought that the design had potential.
43:50I think her problem is a lack of creativity.
43:54I don't know that she has a fresh point of view.
43:57But what I'm looking for, color, fabric, construction, point of view, all of it, Casey for me, it was
44:05unclear.
44:06Are we all on the same page?
44:09Absolutely.
44:10Okay.
44:17Bones, Darren, Octavio, your monochromatic looks celebrated colors and gave us an exciting
44:25taste of what's to come in this competition.
44:28Congratulations.
44:31The winner is...
44:32Bones.
44:33Come here, congratulations.
44:34I'm so proud of you.
44:35And Bones, you win immunity in the next challenge.
44:37Okay.
44:38Oh.
44:39All three of you may leave the runway.
44:40Thank you so much.
44:42Congratulations.
44:43Thank you so much.
44:44Congratulations.
44:50I'm very happy to be able to see my team on top.
44:59I'm very happy to see Darren being able to get this second opportunity because if he hadn't
45:04had that garment, we would have all been in the bottom.
45:07Bones got it.
45:08Thank you, Granny.
45:09Thank you, Granny.
45:10Thank you, Granny.
45:13Thank you, Granny.
45:14Thank you, Granny.
45:18Chasity, Casey, Sabrina, your team overall not having a clear vision forced each of your
45:28individual looks to suffer.
45:32Sabrina, you are in.
45:36You can leave the runway.
45:43Chasity, your look was poorly constructed and unimaginative.
45:49Casey, you made poor design choices and sent an unfinished garment down the runway.
45:57This was really, really hard for us, you guys, but Casey, you are out.
46:11I love you.
46:12It's all good.
46:14Chasity, you're in.
46:17You can leave the runway.
46:19Thank you all.
46:20Casey, the first one is always the most heartbreaking because sometimes you just have a bad day.
46:31And that's never indicative of who you are as a designer.
46:39Lovely to meet you.
46:40Thank you so much.
46:46I'm out.
46:47You're out?
46:48Yeah.
46:49No.
46:50The best part has been, like, you guys.
46:52It's not because you're not a great designer.
46:54I know I'm a great designer.
46:55You are a great designer.
46:56I just didn't get to show it.
46:57Yeah.
46:58Here.
46:59Here.
47:00Here.
47:01Here.
47:02Hi.
47:03That was intense.
47:04Casey, team challenge.
47:06Hard.
47:07Yeah.
47:08I'm sad I didn't get to see more of your work, but I know we will.
47:11Of course.
47:12We will.
47:13All right.
47:14Say goodbye to everybody.
47:15Bye.
47:16Bye.
47:17See you around.
47:18See you around.
47:19To what visions I could create going forward that I haven't yet brought to life.
47:25I just didn't get to show who I was.
47:29Who I am.
47:30Next week on Project Runway.
47:31You need to create a breakout streetwear look.
47:40Katie.
47:41Yeah.
47:42Call her again.
47:43Yes.
47:44We don't have to do this.
47:45Stop talking.
47:46You're fake.
47:47Somebody better take this mic off me.
47:48It really moved me.
48:01Go ahead.
48:02Wait.
48:03To fish.
48:04ści deer.
48:05Go ahead.
48:06It went down.
48:07I'll follow this fight for you.
48:08Today we have picked up preview on the ì±… bit so thanks H ballght.
48:09Yeah.
48:10It was washed up.
48:11Yo.
48:12No way.
48:13No.
48:14No way.
48:15It is.
48:16You can't beat me almost.
48:17Yeah.
48:18I know the man Good vou to do it.
48:19You can see you on Wednesdays in a night.
48:20I won't check.
48:21It's in one place for me.
48:22So you can see how you do everything for a while to watch some fool to play.
48:23Now I know you have to go.
48:24Many times in the world where you are drinking it or south and you have to look down the
48:25that I am using New York bukan my spirit and the restaurant and
