00:00Previously on The Apprentice, Alex was the sole survivor on net worth and chose
00:06Tana to join his team, forcing Craig and Kendra to work together. Kendra was
00:11crestfallen because she didn't want to be stuck with Craig. For their task, the
00:17team sold commemorative t-shirts designed by two pop culture artists.
00:24I like that better already. At Magna, Craig and project manager Kendra continued to
00:29clash. So what were the ideas? It's irrelevant. No it is not irrelevant. We have a heart on our shirt. I said star after you.
00:37Net worth relied on a high price point. Men's $42.99, females $54.99 because I added the right
00:46sales. But Magna used a different sales approach by capitalizing on their
00:50artists fan base. This is a limited edition. Only $288 available. I mean that's a selling point right there.
00:57Net worth lost again for the ninth time in a row and in the boardroom Alex
01:02couldn't defend his lackluster performance. How many times have you lost
01:06as project manager? I've lost once and I've won once. I think you've lost twice
01:10as project manager haven't you? How can you not remember that you lost twice as
01:15project manager Alex? I did, well that was... Alex, you're fired.
01:23Three candidates are left. Who will be fired this week?
01:53Do things, do things, do things, bad things with this dollar bill, y'all. Come on and feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on
02:23me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me, feed on me
02:53Oh boy. This is the toughest boardroom to call, the whole journey. I still feel that Tana and I are the cream of the crop here at the suite, but Alex is a smart and very intelligent young man. It's going to be up to Mr. Trump, like it always is.
03:15They lost so bad though. He's got to be so pissed, Craig. Honey, I'm home. Honey, I'm home. This is destiny, and whoever this was made for will be the one that eventually gets it, and the person that needed to go home will go home.
03:36Oh, dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for this incredible day, and I thank you for being with me while I was nervous. Craig and Tana are very close, and that concerns me because I feel like it's Tana and Craig against me. This entire experience changes tomorrow morning.
04:07Good morning. Hi, Craig. Good morning. It's Rona. You'll be meeting Mr. Trump this morning in the penthouse suite of Trump World Tower.
04:17Hello, folks. Good morning, sir. So, congratulations. Terrific, huh? It's terrific. Thank you. Come on, follow me. I'll show you what a real apartment is.
04:47Beautiful. We don't play games. Come on over here. Not bad, Mr. Trump.
04:57Stand right over there. This is Trump World Tower. You're standing on the 90th floor. It's the highest, tallest, in my opinion, the most beautiful residential building anywhere in the world. If you're really successful and win the job as my apprentice, you may someday live in a place just like this.
05:19You're in your final weeks of your 16-week job interview. You've really done well. We have two remaining candidates from the street smarts group and one remaining from the book smarts.
05:35Now, some of the great corporations in America have been working with you over the last number of weeks. You're going to be interviewing today with four of the most highly respected people in business.
05:50You have David Brandon, chairman and CEO of Domino's Pizza. You have Darlene Daggett, the very dynamic president of QVC. Howard Lorber, chairman of Douglas Elliman, which is the biggest residential realty concern in New York.
06:09And you have Greg Brenneman, chairman and CEO of Burger King Corporation. Combined, their companies have 500,000 employees and are valued at over $11 billion. You're going to their offices. You're going to interview with them. You're going to hopefully impress all four of these people.
06:31Then later on in the afternoon, they're going to come up to the boardroom. They're going to meet with me. They're going to give their opinions. And based on their recommendations, somebody will be fired.
06:42Good morning. Good morning. I'm here to see Darlene Daggett, please.
06:54This is going to be exciting. You know, you don't prepare for something like this. It's just what who you are, what you've done in your life. You just have to be who you are and go and try and sell yourself.
07:07Where does a small town girl from Iowa fit into a big city organization like Mr. Trump's organization?
07:14I fit in wherever Mr. Trump wants to put me and I will make the best of whatever I'm given. I've been an entrepreneur since I was a child, nine years old. My mother was an entrepreneur when we were younger. And I saw that she did that because she wanted freedom.
07:28What's the most challenging business problem you ever faced and how did you handle it?
07:34My most challenging business problem I probably ever faced was getting the right people.
07:40Now, you have a shoeshine company, correct?
07:42Yes, I do. Yes, I do.
07:43And tell me a little bit more about that. Be a little bit specific. What did you find the problem was in your hiring? What did you do to fix it?
07:49What happens is when I set up something and I hand it over to someone, I tend to allow it. It seems like it's easy. It seems like, you know, and I'm willing to hand it over to someone with the intention of them allowing for them to have the opportunity to burn their own bridge.
08:05What do you think would be your ideal job in the Trump organization?
08:09Selling real estate or being involved in one of the buildings that he's going to be constructing. I just, I love real estate.
08:16But you have no experience in construction. Your experience all is in, seems to be in marketing and sales.
08:21My experience is in marketing and sales. However, you have to start somewhere. And my goal is to become a developer. So Donald Trump can either hire me or I'm going to be his competition soon.
08:31I'm curious. In the course of our brief conversation today, I've heard a number of different roles that you've had. General Motors, shoeshine, firefighters, for profit, not for profit.
08:43What should I conclude from that? Do you have a short attention span?
08:47I've.
08:49When is it appropriate to bend the rules?
08:52Well, I bend the rules every day. In real estate, there's a lot of legal loopholes and tax loopholes.
08:58So you want Donald Trump to do low cost housing or subsidized housing?
09:03If that was something he's interested in, I'd be one of his front men.
09:06Doesn't make any sense to me.
09:08If you had to choose one of the other two finalists in this competition to be your business partner, which one would you choose and why?
09:16I would choose to work with Tana because.
09:19I would say Craig is better of the two of them.
09:22That would be Tana.
09:23I would have the three of you.
09:25Craig is, I think, very narrow minded in his leadership approach.
09:29If she could just stay focused. She has a challenge with focus.
09:32I have not had one argument or one negative confrontation.
09:36How important is education to you?
09:38Education is important. I just went about it a different way.
09:41I, I chose to have children instead.
09:44I approached school as if it were a business.
09:46Tell me about your leadership style. What's it like to work for you?
09:50Did you enjoy working for you?
09:52My leadership style is one that.
09:54I don't think it's important to be intimidating.
09:55Were you flying under the radar?
09:56Sounds very unethical to me.
09:58What has been for you the most difficult thing about?
10:00Do you think it's really possible to put.
10:01Who is on your enemy?
10:02Who would come first?
10:03Who do you think is going to do that?
10:05Why should Mr. Trump hire you for this job?
10:17You've all been amazing business leaders.
10:19And I thank you very much for helping me out.
10:21Because I do need help in making this choice. It's pretty close.
10:25David, could I have your opinion, please?
10:27I actually think there's three very talented, capable people here.
10:30But we don't hire Craig.
10:32He was very hard to pin down. His answers were not specific.
10:36Talked a lot, but there wasn't a lot of substance there.
10:39As it relates to Kendra, I think she's somewhere in the middle.
10:42Maybe a little too assertive.
10:44I'd hire Tana. I think she was solid.
10:47And I thought she was a very capable future leader.
10:50That's very nice. Thank you very much, David.
10:53Yeah, it's time to pack your bags.
10:55Time to pack our bags.
11:03This was as real as it got today.
11:05I mean, these CEOs and presidents, they were very important people.
11:10So I went in. I was Tana.
11:12I did my business, and I came out, and I had a smile on my face.
11:16All right, folks.
11:17Boy, this suitcase is heavy. How about you guys?
11:20Very.
11:22Darlene?
11:23At QVC, the lady we would hire is Tana.
11:26Quite frankly, I was impressed with her entrepreneurial skills
11:29starting at 9 years old when she borrowed $4,000 and made $12,000
11:33and remembered to pay that $4,000 back,
11:35so I like the honesty of that as well.
11:37I believe that she is dealing with the reality of being
11:40both a wife, mother, and a business person.
11:43Craig, I thought, was an interesting candidate.
11:46However, there was very little substance.
11:48When pressed for some very specifics, he could not come up with them.
11:52Now, the person who I felt was most in question was Kendra.
11:55I felt like every answer had been scripted or in some way preconceived.
12:02Thank you very much. Appreciate it.
12:05Howard?
12:06I like Kendra.
12:07I thought that the only negative to her was her age.
12:09I think she's a little bit immature,
12:11but in building an organization as I would want to do for my company,
12:14for Douglas Ellman, I would like someone at that age
12:16who you could work with, mold a little bit,
12:18and I think she could be a superstar.
12:20As it relates to Craig, I didn't think Craig could do it.
12:23When I asked Craig what he would do in a Trump organization,
12:25he wanted to change your organization for him to have a job,
12:28so that eliminated him as far as I was concerned.
12:30As it related to Tana, listen, she's a very nice woman from Iowa.
12:35I don't think she makes it in a big metropolitan city,
12:38New York City or Chicago or any place else that you're going to be doing a project.
12:41Thank you very much, Howard.
12:43Greg?
12:44I found myself wanting to hire Craig, but I couldn't,
12:47because every time I drilled, like some of the other folks,
12:50there was just absolutely no substance.
12:52On Kendra, I was a little bit more where Howard was.
12:55I think she's very young, she's very aggressive,
12:57and in my mind she was by far the most intelligent, the most talented,
13:01I got the most concrete and the best answers to questions from her.
13:05I thought Tana balanced both of them pretty well.
13:08The question is could she really end up being the leader of the organization
13:12I think is an open point.
13:14Okay, you have really helped me a lot, and I appreciate it.
13:18You really are respected people, respected leaders.
13:20I want to thank you very much.
13:23See you soon. Keep it up.
13:40Robin, let them come in.
13:42They're ready for you in the boardroom.
13:50Hi.
14:00Craig, what did you think of the executives that you met?
14:03I think they were incredible.
14:05They can discern a good businessman.
14:08Let me tell you what the executives said.
14:11They had respect for all of you, all of you.
14:15But I have to base my opinion today on what they told me,
14:19otherwise there's no reason for them to be here.
14:22Now, Craig, the executives felt that you weren't deep enough, at least with them.
14:28They felt your answers lacked substance.
14:30And the one thing they all had in common, Craig, was that you should be the one to go,
14:36and therefore I have to say, Craig, you're fired.
14:39Thank you, sir.
14:40Thank you very much.
14:41Thank you, sir.
14:42And I think you have a great future, I really do.
14:43Thank you, sir.
14:58I thank Mr. Trump for this opportunity.
14:59It was a great journey.
15:01I've grown a lot.
15:02My wife and children will have a lot of people to thank for the work that has been done on Craig.
15:08And I'm looking forward to sharing the rest of my life with my family.
15:14I did a poor job in getting deep on who I was and what I was about.
15:23Congratulations, Kendra, Tana.
15:25A job well done.
15:27You're the final two candidates representing both of our original two teams,
15:32the BookSmarts and the StreetSmarts.
15:35Tana, you've proven your business skills as one of the Midwest's top-ranked cosmetic saleswomen.
15:41And Kendra, your experience starting a real estate company also makes you an excellent candidate.
15:47So, go back up to the suite, enjoy yourself.
15:51Tomorrow morning, I'm going to give you the task of all tasks, and it's going to be tough.
15:57So get a good night's sleep.
15:59Congratulations.
16:00I'll see you tomorrow.
16:03Good luck.
16:29Oh, my God!
16:32Oh, my God!
16:34It's just me and you in this big house!
16:36Oh, my God.
16:37When I got back from the boardroom with Kendra, we looked at each other like,
16:40oh, my God, you know, our dreams are coming true.
16:43This is it.
16:44We're at the end.
16:45Oh, look at you.
16:47Oh, my God.
16:48We got a book.
16:49What if this is pictures?
16:50And lo and behold, there were photographs of every single one of the 16 people that were fired before us.
16:56Oh, my God.
16:59Oh, my God.
17:00Let's see everybody.
17:01This is when we didn't even know each other.
17:03We hadn't even said hello.
17:05They're only going to get better.
17:07Is that Todd?
17:08Yes.
17:09Wow.
17:10I don't remember that much.
17:11He was handsome, man.
17:12Yeah.
17:13Oh, my God.
17:14Look at Ryan.
17:16There he is going.
17:17Oh, my God.
17:18He carried that green book around and it didn't do him any good.
17:21This is great.
17:22Oh, Verna, that's a beautiful picture.
17:24There she is with her suitcase.
17:26She was really stepping.
17:27She was out of there.
17:32Oh.
17:33Danny's cute.
17:34Step right up, folks.
17:35He was an absolute disaster as a leader, but he was great on the MC.
17:39She's a pretty girl.
17:40Boy, you know what?
17:41You never see her smile, do you?
17:42You don't.
17:43Look at this.
17:44You never see a smile.
17:45Oh.
17:46Look at freaking Michael.
17:47That looks like him.
17:48Big ideas.
17:49Big ideas.
17:52Tara was so cute in her costume.
17:54She wore those masks.
17:56I was like, honey, with all this out here.
17:58Oh.
17:59She's a pretty girl.
18:00Yes, she is.
18:02Sorry I put you in that clown suit, Audrey.
18:04Oh.
18:05Look at the rock stars.
18:06Remember where this is.
18:07Look at the rock stars.
18:08Views, right?
18:09Yep.
18:10Look at her working it.
18:11Yeah, it was this when she had her heels in her.
18:13Yep.
18:16Oh, that's a great picture.
18:17That is a great picture.
18:18She is very photogenic.
18:20Angie.
18:21Oh.
18:22She's a smiler.
18:23Yeah, she is.
18:24Hard at work.
18:25Angie was fun.
18:28Oh, Chris.
18:29He was a handsome kid, I thought.
18:30I like his personality so much.
18:32Mm-hmm.
18:33Oh.
18:34That's a great picture, man.
18:36That is a great picture.
18:37He's a cutie.
18:38That is a good one.
18:39He looks so cute.
18:42He's just so handsome.
18:44He is a handsome man.
18:45I hope he's a friend for life.
18:48Oh.
18:50God, that's what I like.
18:51That is a smile.
18:52I hate that we fought, because I do
18:54really think he's a great guy.
18:57We've both met some truly amazing
19:00and crazy and colorful people.
19:03Each one of them, I kind of hold dear to my heart,
19:05whether I liked them or not.
19:07They made an impression on me.
19:09Which one of us beautiful broads gets the job?
19:28Hello, folks.
19:30Hello, folks.
19:49Go ahead.
19:57Good morning.
20:09I'm in my car going to my plane for a business trip.
20:13As you know, we started with 18 candidates.
20:17Nine of the candidates went to college.
20:20Nine of the candidates did not go to college.
20:22They had a high school education, but they were very, very successful in their own right.
20:28Now we're left with two people, two very smart, very hardworking people.
20:35For your final task, you'll really be put to the test.
20:38Kendra, you'll run the Best Buy Video Game World Championship.
20:43You'll coordinate and host a huge video game tournament at Webster Hall involving EA Sports'
20:48new boxing game, Fight Night 2.
20:52And Tana, you'll run NYC 2012 Athlete Challenge.
20:58This VIP Sports Exhibition at Chelsea Piers will promote New York City's bid to host
21:04the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
21:08Using all of your business skills that you've excelled at thus far, I want to see who does
21:13the best job at running the event.
21:15The winner is going to be, very simply, my apprentice.
21:20The loser, you're going to have a very nice life, I hope, but you're not going to be working
21:26for me.
21:27Now, Carolyn and George will give you some employees that will assist you with your task.
21:33These are people you will be very, very familiar with.
21:37Good luck.
21:38I really look forward to seeing who will be the apprentice.
21:43Robin, send him in.
21:50Hi.
21:51We're back.
21:52Hi.
21:53Congratulations.
21:55Is this it?
21:56This is it.
21:57Oh!
21:58Kendra, you're all that's left from MagnaCorp, the BookSmarts team.
22:10And Tana, you're all that's left from Net Worth.
22:13The StreetSmarts team.
22:14So, Donald thought it was only appropriate that your employees reflect that.
22:18So, therefore, Kendra, you will have Michael, Danny, and Erin working for you.
22:24Tana, Brian, Chris, and Kristen are your employees.
22:28The bosses are free to use or not use their employees any way they want.
22:33This is going to answer once and for all who's better, BookSmarts or StreetSmarts.
22:37So, good luck to you.
22:39On your way.
22:41Go get them.
22:42All right.
22:43Thanks, David.
22:44Me too.
22:45I have a question.
22:46What kind of question?
22:47You got any questions?
22:48I do.
22:49Go ahead.
22:50Any chance of changing around our team?
22:54No.
22:55Okay.
22:56I am sure at this point that Kendra's got somebody that she might not be too thrilled
23:00with either.
23:01Am I right?
23:02As an executive, you'll always have people who are working with you or under you that
23:06you're not thrilled with.
23:07Part of this challenge is dealing with those types of people.
23:10But the idea is to be able to operate successfully in that environment.
23:14Okay.
23:15Well, good luck.
23:17Good luck.
23:19Very nice.
23:20I'll see you.
23:21See you later.
23:35Oh my god.
23:36How about those teams?
23:37Oh my goodness.
23:38Oh.
23:39Heidi.
23:40I've got all the worst tempers.
23:43And you got all the scatterbrains.
23:45When Carolyn and George said, well, here comes your team.
23:47And here comes the three stooges.
23:49And I'm like, what the hell's up with this?
23:51Is this a sick joke?
23:52Oh my god.
23:55Snuffy, Brian, and Kristen.
23:59Couldn't ask for better.
24:00Well, I guess Tana needs to deal with a little confrontation.
24:04And you need to direct scatterbrains.
24:07Danny, Michael, and Aaron were selected
24:09to work with me on this task to see how I could manage people
24:12who have a degree of incompetence.
24:13Any questions?
24:14Yes.
24:14Can we trade these up a bit?
24:16Oh my god.
24:17My butt is on the line here.
24:19And they're going to have some sort of responsibility
24:23on whether or not I ultimately win or lose.
24:25And that scares me.
24:28Get changed.
24:29Oh my god, yes, I got to get changed.
24:31Holy moly.
24:40Hello, Magna Corporation, Aaron speaking.
24:43Well, hello there, darling.
24:45Hi, Kendra.
24:46This is not our first rodeo, my love.
24:48We're here to play ball.
24:49This is your rodeo, Kendra.
24:51Oh, you guys, I'm so excited.
24:53And I'm so glad to see you all.
24:55On the way over to Webster Hall, we get a phone call from Kendra.
24:57Kendra just wanted to throw something around a little bit
25:00and see how happy she was to have us working with her.
25:02There she is.
25:03Kendra, we're here waiting for you.
25:05We're here waiting for you.
25:06We're here waiting for you.
25:07There she is.
25:08Kendra, we're here waiting for you.
25:11Why don't we help you with it here?
25:12I don't know if Kendra's 100% happy with the selection
25:14of people, but I think we're going to do fine.
25:18Yeah.
25:19All right.
25:20Hi, so good to see you.
25:22We have a lot of work.
25:23I'm sure we do.
25:24You have no idea.
25:25The tournament is, I believe, 90 minutes.
25:27We're going to hold a VIP pre-reception hosted by GQ.
25:31Nice.
25:32Nice.
25:33Is this where we're going, I think, Kendra?
25:35Up here.
25:36My task is to coordinate and host the Best Buy Video Game World Championship.
25:44Ha ha ha.
25:46Holy moly.
25:48Hello.
25:49I'm Martin.
25:50I'm the general manager.
25:51Welcome to Webster Hall.
25:53Should we take you upstairs?
25:54Please.
25:55Let's go.
25:56All right.
25:57We should stop off at the Grand Ballroom first.
25:58This is the main space.
26:00Okay, so this is where the event is actually going to be held, in the main ballroom.
26:04It's a great room to do an event in.
26:07Electronic Arts was providing a boxing game called Fight Night Round 2 that we were actually
26:13going to be using for the competition.
26:15This is a basement dance floor.
26:18Okay.
26:19On the platform or the console that we're using to play this game for the tournament
26:23is the PlayStation 2.
26:24All right.
26:25Let's head back.
26:26Let's start figuring out everything we need to do.
26:29With all of these elements, I've got to figure out the display and really organize how I
26:35was going to lay this whole thing out.
26:36Okay.
26:37We're going to run a seriously tight ship.
26:39You know, if you can manage us, you can handle the Trump Organization.
26:42However, if you can manage Chris, Brian, and Kristen, you might deserve the Medal of Honor.
26:59How are you?
27:00Hi!
27:02Oh my God, what a trip.
27:04We were hoping it was you.
27:06Congratulations.
27:07I got the three most explosive personalities that ever existed, and I'm working with them.
27:12Great!
27:13You have a team here that love each other.
27:15Oh, good.
27:16Good.
27:17Is that true, Brian?
27:18I'm glad you feel that way, Kristen.
27:19I do.
27:20I love Brian.
27:21I love Chris.
27:22We are putting together an event that is helping New York City bid for the 2012 Olympics.
27:25We have to put together a whole entire mini Olympics.
27:28You're going to have the stage up here.
27:30Why don't we have the greeting area right here?
27:32I love this.
27:33This would be the greeting area, gift bag area, entertainment, you know, like excitement.
27:36We have to coordinate with all of the athletes and VIPs.
27:40There's going to be 200 to 400 people here.
27:42There's going to be gymnasts, track, beach volleyball.
27:45Oh my goodness, it's huge.
27:47Erica.
27:48Hi, I'm Tana.
27:49Hi.
27:50How are you?
27:51Good.
27:52Good.
27:53Let's walk back around.
27:54Great.
27:55I'm making sure everybody's happy, and I've got to make sure that Chelsea Pierre turns
27:59into an Olympic ring more or less.
28:02You all are at liberty to make decisions without me.
28:04I want to make sure Brian and Chris know this.
28:06When I put you in charge of balloons, you are at liberty to make that decision on balloons
28:10knowing that Kristen knows how much.
28:12You don't have to respect that, Tana.
28:13I just want you all to know that I completely trust you with the areas I'm putting you in.
28:17So feel free to make any decision on my behalf.
28:20It's going to take a team of like 12 to get this show on the road, and I only have a team of four.
28:24So we'll do the best we can.
28:29So what part are you working on?
28:39What we're doing 245 with Best Buy, EA, and everyone can be here.
28:43We can pitch the whole thing to them.
28:45It sounds good.
28:46Okay, cool.
28:47There's so many different elements that go into putting on this production.
28:50There's a lot involved.
28:51I've got to run downstairs now and take care of all sorts of stuff.
28:54And I think that the best thing to do is to get everybody here today so I can talk to
28:58these people in person and I can find out what the heck is going on
29:01so that they can all get on the same page with one another.
29:04Hi.
29:05Hey, how are you doing?
29:06Danny.
29:07Oh, Danny's upstairs.
29:10Hey, Danny, meeting is now.
29:12Okay.
29:13Best Buy is the major sponsor.
29:14It's their video game event.
29:16So it's a good thing that we're all going to get together with Electronic Arts and Best Buy
29:21and try to really work through all the details.
29:23I think they're really looking for specifics.
29:25We don't have them yet, so we've got to keep getting our act together.
29:28Well, thanks for waiting.
29:30So, um...
29:31Should we wait for Kendra, or do you want to...
29:33How's your time exactly?
29:35Do you mind waiting just a couple minutes for Kendra?
29:37Like two minutes.
29:38Here's the deal.
29:39We don't have a lot of time, and there's a lot of components of this promotion.
29:43I finally sit down for the big presentation, and Kendra's not there,
29:48but Best Buy's driving me.
29:50They were like, we have to do this now.
29:52I had to start.
29:55So we have a little jingle.
29:58It's like, we're Team Magna, and we stand here together.
30:02We're Team Magna, and we love Best Buy and EA.
30:05So that's our little jingle.
30:06That's how we start our proposal.
30:09Essentially, I'm going to present to you the first...
30:16When's Kendra coming?
30:18Danny is an absolute creative genius, but in this meeting,
30:21he was sort of scatterbrained and couldn't concisely tell
30:25the busiest people in America what he was trying to achieve.
30:28I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
30:30That's okay. There we go. Perfect.
30:32Yeah, it's also in the big screen.
30:34And the executives just sat there and didn't know exactly what was going on.
30:38I don't mean to interrupt, and with all due respect to everybody here,
30:42we're here now less than 24 hours from the event,
30:45and we haven't seen the timeline.
30:47We don't know the layout.
30:49Quite honestly, right now, I'm concerned.
30:53It was a nightmare at that point.
30:55Every sponsor was staring at us,
30:57and Kendra wasn't there to keep everybody happy.
31:00I could not leave here right now
31:02and have a remotely clear understanding of what tomorrow looks like.
31:07Things went from bad to worse
31:09because Danny did not effectively communicate
31:12what we were going to be doing at the event.
31:14We had to get Kendra.
31:15I think time is really the main issue
31:17when you're putting something of this magnitude together.
31:22Hi.
31:24We're having our meeting up there,
31:26so we've been talking to them for about 10 minutes.
31:28Okay. Great.
31:30Kendra has a lot of roles in this task,
31:32but primarily she has to monitor Michael, Danny, and myself.
31:48This doesn't rely on the event, so to speak.
31:52So I think the most urgent issue is the event tomorrow night
31:58that we've hired you to execute for us.
32:00We are pressed for time.
32:02Here's another option.
32:04See, logistically, to be quite honest...
32:08I was infuriated.
32:11I had called the corporate executives
32:13and scheduled a time for them to come over to Webster Hall
32:16I had no idea that Danny was going to grab them.
32:19I was sitting there in total disbelief.
32:21And I apologize that I wasn't able to make it here 10 minutes ago.
32:26But I'm going to be walking you through everything.
32:29I had to get the Best Buy executives out of that meeting.
32:32Can we see the venue?
32:33Yes. That's why I wanted you all to come.
32:36I was desperately trying to reestablish the credibility that I had lost.
32:41Walk with me down to the VIP area,
32:43and I'll just start there while I'm looking for this.
32:45And create a win-win among all of the sponsors.
32:48We would love to do so.
32:50I'm running around like a crazy person.
32:52Going through Webster Hall.
32:54They're going to go to the center boxing ring.
32:56By the way, you have concessions downstairs.
32:58These are actually going to be pushed back farther.
33:00We're going to have velvet rope that ropes off all of the gaming area.
33:03The rest of the gameplay is going to be featured on the main screen.
33:07I want it to be clear. It's going to be clear.
33:09I was speaking a million miles a minute.
33:12I know you've been talking fast. We appreciate that.
33:14But again, that's why we hired you.
33:16We value your opinions.
33:18We need your expertise in terms of producing the event
33:22and moving in the right direction.
33:24What Kendra did a really good job of today
33:26was to give us a vision of how the event was going to look.
33:29We were a little nervous about what her vision was,
33:31and she helped to communicate that
33:33and I think alleviate a lot of our fears one day before the event.
33:37We trust you. We hired you.
33:40Okay. Thank you.
33:52Did you help me bring the keys to the SUV, Chris?
33:54Sure.
33:55Great. Okay.
33:56I had suggested to my team that we go over
33:58to meet with Peter O'Reilly and Amy over at NYC 2012.
34:02Carolyn will be joining me.
34:04And I want to get their philosophy,
34:06and I want to know what is it that we can do to make the whole world
34:11want to bring the Olympics to New York City in 2012.
34:14Oh, Carolyn, I about died when I saw those three stooges come in today.
34:18I was like, what? Is this a joke?
34:20All the three stooges as a new team, how is it working out?
34:23Oh, well, so far, so good.
34:25You know, I wish I knew what my teammates do when I'm not around,
34:27but I do know one thing they do is they bicker and they fight,
34:30and they try to manage each other.
34:34Why'd you bring them cheesy-ass hats with you?
34:36Because I want to wear one of them cheesy-ass hats maybe.
34:38You don't look good in those hats.
34:40I told you week two you didn't look good in a hat.
34:42No, I did look good in them.
34:43You should not wear a hat.
34:44You should.
34:45You look better without a hat on.
34:46I do look good in a hat.
34:47No, you don't.
34:48That was the problem.
34:49I've seen pictures of me in hats. I look good with hats.
34:51I like wearing hats, and I could care less if you guys think I look worse in hats.
34:53Listen, listen, listen, J-Lo.
34:55So screw you both.
34:56Brian and Kristen have very abrasive personalities,
34:59and they don't approach people well.
35:01And, you know, they could rub somebody the wrong way,
35:04who's very important to us.
35:06I don't know, Kristen, I don't know where we're going.
35:08Where's the limo?
35:09Oh, dude, this guy runs lights like no other.
35:12How hard was it to stay behind him?
35:14Very, very, very hard.
35:15Come on, Kris, don't joke around.
35:17How hard was it to stay behind him?
35:18Kristen, will you call Tim?
35:20I'm doing that right now, honey.
35:21I don't know where the hell we're going.
35:23Tim, I'm sorry I'm bothering you, but I'm doing video press.
35:25I'm sorry I'm bothering you.
35:26Can you please ask who across the street you're at?
35:30Oh, I'm sorry, she's in the limo.
35:31I'm going to have sipping cocktails with Carol.
35:33Okay, that's exactly what we're doing.
35:34We're late for the meeting.
35:35Thanks.
35:36I hate being late.
35:39Oh, thank you.
35:41We get to our destination, and Brian and I and Carolyn headed up
35:47while Kris and Kristen looked for parking.
35:49Oh, it's going to come together.
35:50Oh, of course.
35:51Yourselves.
35:52Absolutely.
35:53We are in good hands, I hope.
35:54Great.
35:55I met with Peter O'Reilly and Amy,
35:58who was the director of marketing for NYC 2012.
36:02The committee, I mean, these were the people who were in charge.
36:06What are the things that you are expecting us to do besides pitching this?
36:10We've got more than 1,700 Olympians from around the world,
36:13from 50 countries who are supporting bringing the games to New York,
36:16and this is kind of a subset of those, an amazing subset of athletes,
36:19so we want to make sure that they have really the best possible experience.
36:23I will do my best.
36:24That's where I will take care of, and that is a very big concern of mine as well.
36:29Brian will keep going.
36:31I just think this is my team, and they're a little lost,
36:33so I'm just going to make sure we know where we're at.
36:35This is Tana.
36:36So basically,
36:38My cell phone's ringing left and right, left and right.
36:40We can't find parking.
36:41Tana, where are we supposed to park?
36:43I'm just kind of filling in here, so I apologize.
36:46It's all right.
36:47You know.
36:48Tana, you guys go inside.
36:50You know, we've been driving around for an hour looking for a parking spot.
36:52I mean, we're probably not going to find parking here
36:55next to Wall Street in the middle of New York City.
36:58It's just really not happening.
37:00I don't know New York City any better than you guys.
37:02Frickin' find a parking spot.
37:04My team can 100% jeopardize my opportunity to win this Apprentice.
37:08I have no problems firing any three of these people.
37:10If they don't act and they don't perform, I'll get rid of them.
37:14And I sell real estate, but I'm a magician, so.
37:17That's important.
37:18Being a magician gets you right over the edge.
37:20Yeah, I do magic shows too, so.
37:22I'll do some magic at that party.
37:24This is, like, very important, and so was that.
37:26It's so random.
37:28Sorry, Brian, I didn't mean to interrupt.
37:30Do you have any ideas for how to promote the bid, or do you have any ideas?
37:33People are coming because they love the Olympics,
37:35and let's give them something Olympic.
37:37I want something that the athletes are going to be thrilled about,
37:41and the customers.
37:43Kristen, it's silly that the team would be separated like that.
37:46It's kind of funny how I really give a shit about stupid decisions that PMs make
37:53when my ass is on the line for getting fired.
37:55When my ass is on the line for getting fired.
37:57But if people make stupid decisions right now along the way,
38:00and it costs us tasks for them making stupid decisions, guess what?
38:03I don't give a shit.
38:04Do you know what I'm saying?
38:06My ass is no longer on the line.
38:14Whoa, okay.
38:16Kendra, this is Michael.
38:18Yes, Michael.
38:19I have a bunch of crates for you.
38:21These are the kiosks, I believe.
38:22Where do you want them?
38:24They've got to be moved into the basement.
38:26I honestly can't think of a better place.
38:28Kendra, I'll take care of it.
38:29You do your business.
38:30I have it all under control, okay?
38:35I have to move all the PlayStation gaming kiosks all the way downstairs
38:39into the basement because we have a contractual agreement that says
38:43Electronic Arts will be the only provider of games in the main ballroom.
38:49Hi.
38:51Hi.
38:52Kendra.
38:53Nice to meet you, too.
38:54Amy is the representative from Sony PlayStation.
38:58It's very important to keep Amy happy because she represents one of the
39:01corporate sponsors of this gaming tournament.
39:04One of our main purposes here is to get people to play our games.
39:08Do you want to see the space?
39:09Sure.
39:23Okay.
39:40You know, it's obviously not the best case scenario.
39:46You know, I'd like to see what you do with it in the next overnight.
39:51You know, we're going to have to think of something because this wasn't the plan.
39:54Don't be sorry.
39:55Just make it good.
39:57Kendra has done nothing to make our area cooler,
40:00to make it really have a PlayStation feel,
40:02and now all of a sudden we are,
40:04PlayStation is down in this tiny little basement by the bathrooms.
40:10Okay.
40:11Well, then overnight we're going to have,
40:13we'll get the stuff done.
40:16Okay.
40:17Well, we'll see you tomorrow.
40:18Okay.
40:19Good stuff.
40:20If nothing is done tonight to make our area cooler,
40:23then it shows a complete and utter disregard for our sponsorship.
40:27If that isn't rectified tomorrow,
40:31very, very distinct possibility that PlayStation will pull out of this,
40:35the video game sponsorship.
40:43For more Apprentice, log on to NBC.com.
40:46The life lessons that I have learned have been from the street, more or less.
40:50I didn't finish college, so I had to bust my ass to get here.
40:53I've gone out there and made every buck that I've ever earned.
40:56This is what I focused on for the last 16 weeks, and this is what I'm waiting for.
41:00I'm the best person for the job, absolutely.
41:03For the first time in my entire life, I'm realizing that this is it.
41:07This is my moment.
41:08I am now in the position to work for Donald Trump.
41:11I am the one person here, out of all 18, that has the entire package.
41:16I have the street smarts, and I have the education.
41:20And I am the person who's able to employ both and be incredible.
