00:00Tammy, what went wrong?
00:10Mr. Trump, I feel like we made an error in the execution of the graphics.
00:15What did you think, Roxanne, of Tammy as your project manager?
00:18I thought Tammy was the best project manager we've had yet.
00:20Better than Andrea?
00:21Yes, better than Andrea.
00:22I thought she was better than Andrea because Tammy has a sincerity about her that makes people want to go the extra mile.
00:30Let's eat.
00:31You want to eat without him?
00:32I think so, because they're going to be a long time.
00:33Let me make sure the soup's hot.
00:35I'm thinking who's getting fired right now.
00:37Why is that?
00:38I want Brent to come back.
00:40Worst attitude in the world.
00:42Why won't you bring this guy back?
00:44As long as Brent is there, he's disrupting whatever they're doing.
00:46I like it.
00:47If Brent walks back through those doors...
00:49I'm excited.
00:50I'm excited, too.
00:51I'm so happy.
00:52He will, too.
00:53I have a feeling he will.
00:54Hey, guys.
00:55Where are the bagels?
00:57So, Brent, did you think Tammy was a good project manager or not?
01:00I thought Tammy stank as a project manager, and it smells right over here, Mr. Trump.
01:04How come you can't get along with anybody?
01:05There's not one person on this team that thinks you're even slightly better.
01:09You know what, Mr. Trump?
01:10In fact, they think that they're not doing well because you're such a negative influence on the team.
01:15Now, I could send you out and bring you back and keep sending you out and bringing you back, but I don't want to do that.
01:21Brent, you're fired.
01:27Brent.
01:33Hey!
01:34Boom!
01:35Who's that?
01:36Who's that?
01:37Wow.
01:38Where's Brent?
01:39Brent's gone!
01:40I said it!
01:41I said it!
01:42So you owe him that!
01:43You did it!
01:47I was absolutely ecstatic when Brent was fired.
01:51He got on my nerves, too.
01:52I know.
01:53It was such a sigh of relief.
01:55I am really looking forward to seeing how our team performs without an added weight on our shoulders.
02:03I don't think you're a bad project manager.
02:05I just thought that in comparison to Tammy, she had a way of lifting people up more, and that's what I was trying to convey when I said that.
02:12I'm surprised that you brought it up unnecessarily.
02:14Well, he asked me.
02:16After we returned from the boardroom, Andrea approached me about what I said to Mr. Trump about her as a leader.
02:22It's not that anyone else doesn't feel the same way I do about Andrea.
02:24It's just that I was the one willing to stand up for the team and say, the way you treated us was pretty poor.
02:29I think that anybody that thinks that they can handle this job should not need to be coddled or talked to in any particular way other than,
02:35let's all get in this, let's all do this next, and let's all get one step closer.
02:39Because I think that if somebody is here and they need to be coddled, then they cannot handle a job without Mr. Trump.
02:44Roxanne is a weaker player than I am.
02:46She's very young, she's very inexperienced, and is not a strong leader.
02:48She's a strong follower.
02:49So if Roxanne can't handle somebody being direct with her, then she cannot work for Donald Trump. Period.
02:56If I sounded harsh, I apologize, but...
02:58I was just surprised. I was just surprised by it.
03:01That's all right. I'm sure it's not the last time in my life I'm going to be surprised.
03:20Some people got to have it. Some people really need it.
03:30Listen to me, y'all. Do things, do things, do things, bad things.
03:39Dollar bills, y'all. Come on.
03:41That deal, oh, deal, made great on my desire.
03:49I don't know that money.
03:53Give me a nickel, brother, can you bear that?
03:58Money can drive some people out of their mind.
04:05No good, no good.
04:08Money, money, money, money.
04:24Well, this is some beautiful ship.
04:26This is amazing.
04:27How many propellers does the ship have?
04:29Two propellers.
04:30Two propellers, wow.
04:31It must be big.
04:33I love this. I think this is amazing.
04:35Okay, Captain, great honor. Thank you.
04:56Good morning.
04:57Welcome to week five of your 15-week job interview.
05:03Today you're standing on one of the great ships of the world.
05:07It's called the Norwegian Jewel.
05:09This ship was just launched by Norwegian Cruise Line.
05:13It's one of the fine lines anywhere in the world.
05:16The cruise line industry is a $10 billion a year industry,
05:21and that's big stuff by any standard.
05:24Now, for your next task, you'll make a 30-second commercial
05:28to promote Norwegian Cruise Line and their freestyle cruising program.
05:32When you complete your commercial,
05:34you'll be judged by these two executives at the NCL offices.
05:39Your name, please?
05:40I'm Colin Veitch.
05:41I'm Roy Spence.
05:43Each team will be given professional camera crews and editors to help you.
05:48You must be finished with your work and your shooting by 3 p.m.
05:52because this ship is leaving sharp.
05:54You leave right on time, right, Colin?
05:56We do, every week.
05:57Okay, and you'll be on it if it's not done by 3.
06:01Bill and Carolyn will be watching.
06:03The team that creates the most original commercial wins.
06:07The winners will be very justly rewarded.
06:10The losers, you'll come to the boardroom.
06:12Somebody will be fired.
06:15Okay, everybody, let's go right now.
06:18First thing we have to do is Leslie is going to take a pad of paper.
06:21She's going to sit down with Bryce.
06:23She's going to sit down with Tarek
06:25and start coming up with some basic concepts and also Lenny.
06:28I need Charmaine to get on Pearl.
06:32Let's relax a little bit.
06:33Yeah.
06:34Basically, Dan proclaimed himself the project manager.
06:36He's going to give us a little bit of advice.
06:38He's going to give us a little bit of advice.
06:40He's going to give us a little bit of advice.
06:42Basically, Dan proclaimed himself the project manager.
06:44He starts screaming, we need to call this person first,
06:46we need to do this first, I need you to do this, I need you to do this.
06:49Literally, he was shaking.
06:50I thought he was going to have a heart attack.
06:52One second, one second.
06:53Put down theater.
06:54Let's worry about scenes afterwards.
06:55Put down casino.
06:56Put down villas.
06:58We need to relax.
06:59Chill out for a second.
07:00It was so hectic, I couldn't stand.
07:02He started screaming, we have to do this, we have to do that.
07:05I'm like, who the hell are you?
07:07What is freestyle cruising?
07:08That's what it explains it all.
07:09Let me explain to you what freestyle is.
07:11It means you can sit at a restaurant any time you like.
07:14There's no schedule.
07:15It's like a regular vacation.
07:16You go to a restaurant, you're ready to go to the restaurant.
07:18Only Norwegian does freestyling.
07:20You can show everything, and we can constantly be throwing up there,
07:24you know, on your own time.
07:25No schedule.
07:26Almost like a montage of the different things you can do.
07:29And I think that we absolutely need to use the people on the ship.
07:34Is everyone listening?
07:36It doesn't seem like they're listening.
07:37Lenny's got a great idea.
07:38Go ahead, Lenny.
07:40The scenario is very simple.
07:41The guy in the little boat, so he's like almost dying, you know,
07:45see the ship.
07:46They picked him up.
07:47He was in the restaurant.
07:48He watched the entertainment.
07:50I can't believe it, his eyes, you know, what he see.
07:52It's not that bad of an idea.
07:53It's not that bad of an idea.
07:55I really like it.
07:56It's a little bit more creative.
07:58I agree this idea is definitely different.
08:00Is everyone in agreement with this idea?
08:02Lenny came up with an idea.
08:03We have a castaway.
08:04He comes on board and says, I've been out at sea.
08:07And they say, oh, come with us.
08:09Lee jumped on that idea.
08:10So I said, let's incorporate the concept of this castaway.
08:14It allows us to show the different locations on the ship.
08:17So we really had to move.
08:19And time was of paramount importance.
08:21Guys, we're not waiting for anything.
08:23So let's start filming.
08:24Is everyone cool with that?
08:25Let's go.
08:27I want to have you here.
08:36My idea was to contrast the traditional, scheduled,
08:39somewhat regimented way of cruising on traditional cruise lines
08:43with the Norwegian cruise line freestyle cruising.
08:46Back to the other side so it stays out of the main shot.
08:48We began filming with our crew in a restaurant called Teppanyaki.
08:51We shot the scene where the couples were enjoying the meal prepared in front of them.
08:55Was there any sort of script or any sort of idea as far as where the shot were?
09:00That was Roxanne.
09:02Roxanne was the project manager.
09:03And right when we first started shooting the commercial,
09:05the team just sort of was in chaos.
09:07Are we filming right now?
09:09No, we're not.
09:10I need someone who's going to actually be talking to the talent
09:12to tell them what to do and when to stop.
09:14Wouldn't be a bad idea.
09:16Now I think this looks empty.
09:18Okay.
09:19Roxanne's major problem was inexperience.
09:21She didn't know how to delegate tasks.
09:23She didn't know how to organize a timeline.
09:25She didn't know how to just get it together and be a leader
09:29and direct people to do things.
09:31You have to go so much faster.
09:33Who's directing this?
09:35I don't know.
09:36Are they filming right now?
09:38Okay, are we ready?
09:39Okay, roll tape.
09:41Action.
09:42Okay, come on.
09:43We're having fun.
09:44We're having fun.
09:45Look at this crazy chef.
09:48Oh!
09:50Keep watching, keep watching.
09:52We're having fun.
09:53Hey, Sean, that's enough footage.
09:54We're going to be running ahead.
09:56Okay, guys, cut.
09:57We have four shots left to shoot
09:59and an hour and 45 minutes left to get them.
10:02Not realistic at all.
10:03Just one little thing.
10:05Do you have a time crunch here?
10:06We do.
10:07One voice.
10:08Right, absolutely.
10:09That's real important on the set.
10:10I hope that Roxanne can get organized
10:12and that people know what their roles are.
10:14We're definitely in danger of losing this task
10:16if we can't pull it together.
10:22A really great leader, no matter how tough,
10:24no matter how smart,
10:25will always have an ability to listen
10:27to smart people that work for them.
10:29Hello, Kendra.
10:30How's the real estate business going?
10:32There are so many great ideas
10:34that can come out of your subordinates,
10:35and if you're not listening,
10:36you're not going to get those ideas.
10:38Also, I think it would be good
10:39to aggressively attack an international market.
10:41So hire smart people and then listen to them.
10:44I think that'll work out great.
10:55He's going to be right up here.
10:58You're lying down like King Tut.
10:59Our task is to develop a 30-second commercial
11:03that features the Norwegian Cruise Line.
11:05Our concept was picking up a castaway.
11:08He comes on board and sees all the places
11:10that you could be on the ship.
11:12I had sent Tart and Bryce off
11:14to set up the theater shot.
11:165, 6, 7, 8.
11:17I felt they would work best
11:19if it was just the two of them.
11:21That's perfect, ladies.
11:22Can you do it one more time?
11:23And I needed to focus on working with the director
11:27in the villa.
11:28So we're filming pretty much two scenes
11:29in one location here.
11:30He's sitting with a white robe with a cigar.
11:33Let's start rolling. Let's roll.
11:35I don't know if we want someone to bring him the drink here
11:38or we want someone to bring him the drink for us.
11:40He knows what he's doing.
11:41Cool. Danny boy.
11:43Action, roll.
11:44Dan sort of took it upon himself to do everything himself.
11:49Nice. Very nice.
11:51Let's try one more.
11:52Let's try it again. That's great.
11:53Basically, the four of us particularly,
11:55Charmaine, Leslie, myself, and Lenny,
11:57unutilized, did not have a clue what we were doing,
12:00and he could have utilized us.
12:01I mean, we're good, quality people.
12:03Like, he has control over everything.
12:05That's the problem with him.
12:07Like, delegate something. I don't understand.
12:09Why does he have to do everything?
12:10Right. I mean, there's five of us.
12:15Proper toilet, huh?
12:16Yeah, I know. I'm just going to suck down with the shit.
12:18I know.
12:20But, like, if we delegate, we can all be involved.
12:23He wouldn't be so frazzled if he let us do something.
12:25I mean, he's running around like a freaking maniac right now.
12:29Okay, he's going to take it off,
12:31and you're going to slowly pan it back out,
12:33and then you'll be able to see him drop it in the garbage.
12:35This is the coming on board scene.
12:38You know, during the commercial,
12:39I always felt that Lee wasn't contributing.
12:41He's going to have seaweed in his hair.
12:43We're getting that right now.
12:44But if Bill ever came in the picture,
12:45or Carolyn ever came in the picture,
12:47no one asked him to,
12:48but he always found a corner to talk to them.
12:51You can do whatever you want anytime.
12:52That's the message.
12:53Do the whole thing again.
12:54Wait, wait, one second.
12:55Leslie, you're in the seat. You're in the line.
12:57Lenny, you're in the line.
12:58Lenny, get out of the way, dude.
12:59We've got to see the view.
13:00I have a broadcast journalism background,
13:01and I was excited to use my creativity
13:03and just use my, you know, attributes I got from college.
13:06But at this point, I thought the rest of us
13:08maybe could have, like, hit a bar
13:09or hit a club or something.
13:10I didn't know what our point of being there was.
13:13Go, action.
13:19Perfect.
13:20All right, that's it.
13:21That's a wrap.
13:22That's a wrap.
13:29You are going to be sitting at this table
13:31looking very, very bored,
13:33just kind of twiddling your thumbs,
13:34wishing that you weren't where you actually are.
13:37Synergy's concept is to differentiate
13:39a normal, boring cruise from a Norwegian cruise line cruise
13:43by showing a scene with a boring cruise line
13:46and then showing what it's like to be on a Norwegian cruise.
13:49If you can make it look drab and disgusting,
13:51I would really appreciate that.
13:52That would be good.
13:53They won't be smiling either. Don't worry.
13:56You ready?
13:57I am rolling.
13:59All right, y'all, we're rolling.
14:01Go for it.
14:03Michael, hello.
14:05Are things going well?
14:06Good.
14:07Okay, good.
14:08Let me tell you one thing.
14:12Okay, that was good.
14:13Let's do it again, but this time have a little bit more fun.
14:16Yeah, we don't want to convey
14:18that you're just having a terrible time.
14:24Roxanne, I told him to have a little bit more fun this time.
14:27What?
14:28I don't think we want to convey that this part is terrible.
14:31My understanding for this part is that they're going to be,
14:34well, they've done several different sets.
14:37Being bossy and taking over is what Andrea does.
14:40Andrea doesn't know how to play in a sandbox.
14:42I actually know how to play in the sandbox,
14:44and I will do that.
14:46Like, if I have him walk in from this direction,
14:49could you be, stay right here and see people coming in?
14:53That's okay. That's okay.
14:55Back of the head is okay.
14:57We have to, like, wrap this shot up.
14:59I know, I know.
15:01Attention.
15:02The Norwegian Jewel will be leaving port in 20 minutes.
15:06All visitors must leave the ship as soon as possible.
15:09Please ensure that you sign out...
15:11We have to stop shooting at 3 o'clock
15:13because the ship is pulling out of port.
15:17Well, I hope that we're creative enough as a team
15:20to put the footage that we did get together
15:22into a beautiful commercial.
15:24If we lose this task because of the footage that we didn't get,
15:27because things weren't organized,
15:28it will be Roxanne's fault.
15:47When you think of cruises,
15:49do you think of schedule, structure, and formality?
15:52Norwegian Cruise Line changes all that.
15:56If you have, like, black and white, I think it would work.
15:59You can try it. It doesn't hurt to try it.
16:02It's just not a good idea.
16:04It doesn't make sense.
16:05It just looks like a couple that's not having a very good time
16:08eating together.
16:09Not necessarily that it has anything to do with the cruise.
16:12We need literally five seconds of footage
16:15of people not having a good time,
16:16and then you show all the fun that they're having
16:19at Norwegian Cruise.
16:20What's wrong with five seconds of dullness?
16:24So you're making their product look crappy when you do that, though.
16:27That's what I'm saying.
16:28I don't feel like my decision to just try it,
16:32since we do have the time, has been supported.
16:36No way. That's totally untrue, Roxanne.
16:38I have been saying you're the project man...
16:40Roxanne, I have been saying you know my opinion on it.
16:42I don't think it's a good idea.
16:44You're the project manager.
16:45Do whatever you think is right, period.
16:48There comes a time and a place
16:50where if you don't stick up for yourself,
16:52then you might as well just go home.
16:54I've been saying what I thought all day long,
16:57and y'all have not been listening.
16:58When you guys were project managers,
17:00I gave you all the respect in the world.
17:02Doesn't mean I agreed with every decision you made,
17:04but I respected it.
17:06The only thing that I expect from my team
17:09is just some simple respect.
17:23Hit it.
17:25Here we go. It's made it in to the watch.
17:28Euphoria. And now we're going.
17:31I love it. I love it.
17:32You can go your own way where it is,
17:34and then add the anytime underneath.
17:36Oh, underneath that line.
17:37And then the next shot is just going to be freestyle cruising.
17:40My idea was the commercial would be
17:42nothing but text flashing,
17:44leaving the viewer almost wanting more.
17:46It's a little bit difficult to describe,
17:48but I think you can effectively do that
17:50with the appropriate wording, techniques,
17:52and the editing room.
17:54I love it, dude.
17:56I love it.
17:58I just think, you know, those words,
18:00we have words, you know, signed underneath.
18:02You can't even read them.
18:03Everything goes fast, you know.
18:05You can't watch the video and read the text.
18:07Very possible if we use voice, yes,
18:09it could be less confusing.
18:11I disagree. I agree totally.
18:13I understand your idea, but I think, you know,
18:16when you watch, when you watch,
18:18when you watch, you ask everybody,
18:20you ask everybody.
18:22I was listening long enough.
18:24You ask everybody, maybe you're going to listen
18:26to somebody else, my friend.
18:28How many times do you see a commercial only once?
18:30What?
18:31How many times when you're watching TV
18:32do you see a commercial only once?
18:33You usually see a commercial a few times.
18:35But we don't get a chance to show a commercial
18:3720,000 times.
18:38Today we only got one chance.
18:40It's 30 seconds.
18:41And you defend your ass that way, too.
18:43Terry cut my idea in half, you know.
18:45Terry came out with this.
18:47He came out like it's a crazy s***.
18:49I'm like, what do you smoke, man?
18:51This is craziness. It's a madness, really.
18:53One mad guy just against the whole team.
18:55He doesn't want to share, you know.
18:57His idea works, that's it.
18:59Text is there. We're leaving the text. It's done.
19:01I'm happy with the texting.
19:18Yes, please send Synergy in.
19:23Hello.
19:24Hey, Roxanne. How you doing?
19:25Doing well. How are you?
19:26Great.
19:27Good to see you.
19:30We're so glad to be here for y'all this afternoon
19:32to present a commercial that we think
19:34you're really going to love.
19:3520% of Americans do not cruise.
19:37And that leaves a huge untapped market.
19:40Freestyle cruising speaks to that market
19:43and lets consumers know that they're not alone.
19:46It lets consumers know that when they cruise
19:48with Norwegian Cruise Lines, it's all about you.
19:54When you think of cruises,
19:56do you think of schedule, structure, and formality?
19:59Norwegian Cruise Line changes all that.
20:02Eat when and where you like at one of ten restaurants.
20:06Dress in comfort.
20:08Set your own schedule.
20:10And even try one of our private luxury villas.
20:13Norwegian Cruise Line is the only cruise line
20:16that puts you first.
20:18Because ultimately, it's all about you.
20:25Tell us about your thought process
20:26in coming up with that approach.
20:28We actually debated whether to go with
20:29the first four and a half seconds of the commercial.
20:32Because it is a challenge.
20:33But, you know, I believe that with big risk
20:35comes big success.
20:36And I think it was worth it ultimately.
20:39Good job, guys.
20:40Thank you very, very much.
20:41Thank you. Bye.
20:43Bye.
20:49Rona, I'm heading down to Norwegian Cruise Line.
20:51I want to see how they did on their task.
20:53Okay, good. I'll be there if you need me.
20:55Thanks. Bye.
20:58Hello.
21:00Hey, guys.
21:01You look fabulous.
21:03You know, creators dress in black.
21:05You look great.
21:07Do you feel like a castaway?
21:09Restricted and limited?
21:11Is it maybe in your job, your personal life,
21:13or a run-of-the-mill vacation, perhaps?
21:16The focus of our 30-second commercial
21:18is a metaphor for every man, woman, and family.
21:22Don't be restricted.
21:24Enjoy the freedom of freestyle cruising
21:28with Norwegian Cruise Line.
21:42NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE
22:07What happened to that guy at the beginning of the commercial?
22:10That was the seaweed from him.
22:12He was our castaway.
22:13Oh, I see.
22:15Look where he was.
22:16In his case, he was, you know, on a floating raft.
22:19But in reality, that floating raft where you're trapped,
22:21you're restricted, could be your job,
22:23could be other less engaging vacations.
22:26But here, he's having the time of his life.
22:29All right.
22:30Thank you very, very much.
22:31We appreciate it. Thank you.
22:37So...
22:38I thought they were both good.
22:39The Gold Rush beginning was just a bit surreal.
22:43I actually missed the connection
22:45between castaway and this guy on the barge.
22:47I thought that was an odd beginning,
22:48but the rest of the ad was very good.
22:50Synergy, starting with the black and white,
22:52although it's negative, it's jarring.
22:54But they did pick up momentum.
22:56I do appreciate the fact they tried to be original.
22:59Could you please send in Gold Rush and Synergy?
23:01Thanks so much.
23:21Well, how are you?
23:22Very well. How are you?
23:23Very nice to see you all.
23:25See you, Mr. Trump.
23:27So what do you gentlemen think?
23:29Colin?
23:30We were impressed, Donald.
23:31Both teams should be pleased with what they did.
23:33Both ads were good.
23:35But one ad was better.
23:37When you have voiceover versus subtext or subtitles,
23:41you're assuming that everybody's watching for 30 seconds
23:45and nobody's half-watching.
23:46Whereas if you're half-watching,
23:48then the voiceover is still effective.
23:51Both of you had the same approach.
23:54You started the ads with a bang.
23:57Here was the difference.
23:59One intrigued, but it was confusing.
24:02The other one intrigued and it was clear.
24:04So we have to go with the one that was clear.
24:06And therefore, the winner is...
24:09The winner is Synergy.
24:14Oh, this is a little bit of a turnaround.
24:19That's very good.
24:20Synergy, congratulations.
24:23Now you've just dealt with a great chip called the Norwegian Jewel.
24:28Now you're going to deal with the most precious jewels of them all,
24:32and that's diamonds.
24:36You are going to be going with Brinks,
24:39a great company that maintains and guards over jewels, money, cash.
24:44You're going to a vault.
24:46The vault is a secret vault
24:48because nobody can know what's exactly in that vault and how much,
24:53although I will tell you
24:54it's substantially more than $100 million worth of diamonds.
24:58The diamonds belong to the Pluchenik Group,
25:00one of the biggest diamond dealers anywhere in the world.
25:04And then, above all,
25:05you'll get to take home $30,000 worth of diamonds.
25:10So I would say that's a pretty good amount of diamonds.
25:15Goldrush, I'm sorry.
25:16I'm a little bit surprised because you were so good last week.
25:20But somebody will be fired.
25:22You will be coming to the boardroom.
25:31Our reward is that we get to go to the Brinks Diamond Vault
25:50and pick out $30,000 in diamonds.
26:01Hello.
26:03How are you?
26:04Very good. How are you?
26:05I'm Roxanne.
26:06Nice to meet you. I'm Michael Green.
26:07Let's go in there and take a look.
26:22Oh, my God.
26:23See?
26:28Wow.
26:29This is something that you'll probably never experience ever again in your life.
26:32So let's start with this.
26:33We're going to take some diamonds out.
26:35These little diamonds that we're going to show you are actually rough diamonds.
26:39What do you think so far?
26:40Beautiful.
26:41Okay, now if you take the tweezers, just unlock them there,
26:44and then you pick them up in between the tweezers,
26:46squeeze it together very slightly,
26:48and then you push this little plastic up.
26:50And be real careful that you don't drop these.
26:52And now you can kind of play with them freely.
26:54Oh, there goes one.
26:55She lost one of our diamonds already.
26:57Tammy, you're fired.
26:58You're fired. Get out.
27:00Diamonds are slippery little buggers,
27:02and every time they were, like, slipping out, it's like,
27:04oops, God, there's a million dollars.
27:05Oops, there's a million dollars.
27:06You don't have one.
27:07There goes another diamond.
27:08Okay, so I'm not the only one.
27:10Thank you, guys.
27:15What are you doing with it?
27:16I lost it.
27:17Oh, my God.
27:18We don't lose our diamonds.
27:20So we've looked at diamonds,
27:22and now we're going to actually pick out something.
27:24And whichever one you think is the best,
27:26you're going to take home today.
27:27No.
27:28You insist.
27:30This is really hard.
27:32What is your name again?
27:33Allie.
27:34Allie, you're going for the biggest.
27:35Yeah.
27:36You like the size.
27:37Yeah.
27:38That's great.
27:39I think size matters.
27:40I think it does matter.
27:41I don't think a diamond can be too big.
27:43I'm going to show you something here real quick.
27:45This tiara is being made special.
27:48These diamonds are 30 to 50 carats each.
27:50There's $4.5 million.
27:51Wow.
27:52Right?
27:53That's beautiful.
27:54She was our project manager.
27:55Hold on.
27:56She deserved this.
27:57Oh, really?
27:58Yeah.
27:59Given everything we went through,
28:00the reward was just that much greater.
28:02And to know that had we not taken the risk that we took,
28:05we would not be enjoying that reward.
28:07I mean, it was just so cool.
28:09It's beautiful.
28:10Thank you so much, darling.
28:26Lenny and Lee are extremely close.
28:29And they're going to pile on to you.
28:31But Bill Rancic knows that Lee was spending
28:34a whole lot of time talking to him
28:36and not a whole lot of time working.
28:38So what did Lee really say to Bill?
28:41I mean, I can't imagine that I don't know.
28:43I just know that anytime Bill was there,
28:45Lee was with him.
28:46Anytime Carolyn was there, Lee was with him.
28:48He knows what he's saying to them.
28:49That's the way it's been the whole time, right?
28:51I think Dan's best approach is to bring in Lenny and Lee
28:54Really, we need to release
28:55some of the dead weight on the team.
28:57We'll be more efficient.
28:58We'll be more successful
28:59if we get rid of those guys.
29:00Fortunately, he has a big ally in me,
29:02and I'm going to do everything I can
29:03to try to protect him today.
29:05All I'm going to tell you right now,
29:07walking into the boardroom,
29:09you have, keep in mind,
29:10you have zero friends.
29:25Hi, you can go straight into the boardroom.
29:30Hello again.
29:55Dan.
29:56Yes, sir.
29:57What happened?
29:58I think that in the end result,
29:59it was a close call,
30:00and unfortunately, we weren't victorious.
30:02Charmaine, what did you think of Dan?
30:04I think there's room for improvement with Dan.
30:06I think there are a couple of things
30:08he could have done differently.
30:09What did you think of Leslie?
30:10She's always flying below the radar.
30:12She doesn't say anything.
30:13What do you think, Charmaine?
30:14I think Leslie definitely wanted
30:17to be involved in this task.
30:18She has the background.
30:19She, over anyone, should have been
30:22the first person to be involved in this task.
30:24Why weren't you involved, Leslie?
30:25Mr. Trump, I tried to get involved numerous times.
30:28I voiced that I had broadcast journalism background.
30:31It was on her.
30:32Mr. Trump, if I could just interject.
30:34First of all, she never mentioned broadcasting.
30:36She mentioned that number.
30:38I certainly don't recall it.
30:41Well, you don't recall a lot, Dan.
30:43If I may make one comment.
30:45If Leslie had stepped up and said,
30:47I'm a, I had no idea.
30:48She stepped up every single time.
30:50What are you talking about?
30:51There were multiple times.
30:53There were multiple times.
30:55If you're a leader, you assert yourself
30:57and put yourself in a position to succeed.
30:59She asserted herself every single time.
31:01She asserted herself every single time.
31:03There's only so many times you can say something
31:05and you're not heard.
31:06Forget it.
31:07How many times did I ask you?
31:09Excuse me.
31:10Excuse me.
31:11Do you know how ridiculous you all sound right now?
31:12Yes, I think we sound ridiculous all the time.
31:13You kind of sound like you're 10 years old.
31:14I'll tell you the good news.
31:15The good news is that I just saw some energy out of Leslie.
31:19I have a lot of energy, Mr. Trump.
31:20Which I haven't seen.
31:21I've never heard on this team.
31:23Leslie, what did you think of Dan as the project manager?
31:26I would never want to work under Dan again.
31:29It was utter chaos.
31:30I wanted to jump off of the boat in the beginning of the project.
31:33I saw both commercials and there's no question
31:36that Synergy's was better.
31:38Was that a shipwreck that somebody was like
31:40trying to wave the boat down from a shipwreck?
31:42It was a castaway, sir.
31:44It was confusing.
31:45And to have somebody in distress,
31:47obviously looking like he's ready to drown,
31:49waving a flag violently,
31:51and this is in your commercial
31:53and you're trying to sell cruise ship living?
31:55It's wrong.
31:56Lenny's.
31:57Whose idea was that?
31:58Lenny's.
31:59Was that your idea?
32:00My idea, yeah.
32:01Not very good, Lenny.
32:02Let me tell you.
32:03It stinks.
32:04It stinks, I think.
32:05But everybody likes it.
32:06Who's everybody?
32:07The whole team.
32:08Norwegian Cruise Line didn't like it very much, right?
32:09The team.
32:10I'm talking about the team.
32:11Dan, what makes this cruise line different
32:13and better than any other cruise line?
32:15My idea was to highlight freestyle.
32:18And do you think you accomplished that?
32:20Well, I was hoping that we would accomplish that
32:22by showing it.
32:23You didn't.
32:24Apparently it wasn't as good as...
32:25There's no voice.
32:26That was a fatal blow in my opinion.
32:28Having text at the bottom of the screen and no voiceover.
32:30You can take a commercial in two different ways.
32:32You can have a voiceover.
32:33You cannot have a voiceover.
32:34It's like making the comparison
32:36between an impressionist painter or non-impressionist.
32:39It's as well as you execute on it.
32:41There are cruise lines that don't use voices.
32:43Let me ask you this about Tarek.
32:44He's a member of Mensa.
32:45That means he's a genius, right?
32:46We almost...
32:47Do you think he's a genius?
32:48I don't think so.
32:49He has done so many mistakes.
32:50I've never seen a genius make so many mistakes.
32:52Are you sure?
32:53Did you take your test?
32:54Or did somebody else take your test?
32:55I didn't.
32:56It's only $18.
32:57No, you can do it online.
32:58I was just executing what the team wanted.
32:59How do you make so many mistakes if you're so smart?
33:02It wasn't a mistake on my part, Mr. Trump.
33:04It was what the team decided.
33:05Whose mistake was that?
33:06Whose mistake was the fact that you didn't do the voiceovers?
33:09Is that Dan's or Tarek's?
33:11I don't even know who was making the decisions
33:13to be honest with you, Mr. Trump.
33:14So you're basically saying you had a bad leader.
33:16Lee, bad leader?
33:18I think definitely it's a lot of bad decisions.
33:20Let me describe Lee in a nutshell.
33:22Lee enters a situation with the impression of
33:24how can I position myself best?
33:26There's no question when Carol and Bill come in,
33:28I want to go up to them.
33:29I want to look the best in front of them.
33:30But don't you want to position yourself?
33:31No, I'm saying I want to do that.
33:32So if Lee wants to position himself best,
33:34what's wrong with that?
33:35I do that because that's all he does.
33:36Someone needs to greet them.
33:37That's all he does.
33:38Am I wrong?
33:39Jarmaine, if you were me, who would you fire?
33:41I think that Tarek's inability to listen
33:45somewhat impedes our creative process
33:47and I think that's where we missed the boat.
33:49Lenny made one suggestion which was to remove the text
33:52and Tarek got loud, got abrupt with him, got hateful
33:55just because he made a suggestion.
33:56All right, Lee, who would you fire?
33:59I've been saying this from day one.
34:00Tarek doesn't let us work as a team.
34:02I think people will agree with me.
34:03He basically literally did not let us work as a team
34:05and he never does.
34:06All right, Dan, it's time.
34:07You can bring two people back.
34:09Who are they going to be?
34:10It's going to be Lee and it's going to be Tarek.
34:12So you want to bring back Lee and Tarek.
34:15Would you also like to bring back a third person?
34:17Sure, I'd love to bring back Lenny, but, you know,
34:20strategically, Lenny and Lee will be even stronger.
34:23You want to bring back Lenny?
34:29No, we'll leave Lenny out.
34:31Good.
34:32Lenny, Leslie, Jarmaine, Bryce, go back up to the suite.
34:37You three, I'll see you back in a minute.
34:39We'll see you back in a minute.
34:53What do you think, Carolyn?
34:54Well, I think the whole concept was bad
34:56and I think Dan made a mistake in choosing it.
34:58However, it was Lenny's concept and he's not here.
35:01Well, Dan made a mistake in not bringing Lenny back.
35:03I think so.
35:04Bill, what do you think?
35:05Well, I agree with Carolyn that it was a bad concept,
35:07but I think Tarek made a bad concept even worse
35:10by not putting a voiceover in and only using text.
35:13Okay.
35:14Robin, let him in.
35:16You can all go back into the boardroom now, gentlemen.
35:33Let me ask you a question, Dan.
35:34Yes, sir.
35:35You weren't going to bring Tarek in, right?
35:36Actually, I intended on bringing Tarek in.
35:39Now, did you change your mind or is that a form of disloyalty?
35:42No.
35:43I really struggled with bringing Tarek in.
35:47And then Tarek came over to me and said,
35:49I just want to let you know,
35:51you have no friends in that boardroom.
35:53No one.
35:54And I was kind of expecting to have that followed up with
35:57except for me, but it didn't come.
35:59Why not?
36:00Why didn't you say except for me, Tarek?
36:02Wouldn't that have been smart?
36:03I did tell him an additional time.
36:04I said, look, I'm going to defend you to the end
36:06because I honestly believe, Mr. Trump, that Dan is a good leader.
36:09I'll go to my grave saying that if he gets fired today,
36:12that it'll be a major blow to the team.
36:14But Lee shouldn't be here.
36:15Lenny should be here.
36:16Can I tell you?
36:17Excuse me.
36:18Yes, sir.
36:19It was Lenny's concept and you didn't bring Lenny in.
36:20It looked to me like a person in distress.
36:23That was Lenny's idea.
36:24Lenny should be back here with you.
36:26But I don't think so.
36:27Okay, fine.
36:28But I'll tell you.
36:29Then you and I disagree, okay?
36:31Don't you think he should have been back in here?
36:33No, I don't think he should be back in here
36:34because we're a team, Mr. Trump.
36:36And as a team, we make decisions.
36:38But you almost brought him back here.
36:39I'm sorry?
36:40But you almost brought him back here.
36:41So why isn't he here?
36:42Because, you know what?
36:43I felt that he wasn't because I...
36:44You're afraid of himself and Lee are going to...
36:45No, sir. No, ma'am.
36:46No, ma'am. That's not what you said.
36:47You admitted that.
36:48I understand that.
36:49But my true belief is that I worked really hard for Lee
36:52and Lee checked out on me from the minute it started.
36:54I don't think Lee checked out.
36:55I think Lee's basically a politician.
36:57But he checked out on me.
36:58And I'm not saying that's good.
37:00But I don't see anything that he did that led to your loss.
37:04Tarek, how many times have you come back to the boardroom already?
37:08Too many times for my own good.
37:09This is his third time. I'll answer that.
37:10Three's a charm, I mean.
37:11And you know what it is?
37:12It's that the people on the team smell blood.
37:14And everyone's shooting for the alpha dog.
37:16No, I don't think so.
37:17That's what it comes down to.
37:18He's supposed to be a friend of yours, he brought you back.
37:19I mean, he felt it.
37:20Tarek, you have done so badly.
37:22You've done so badly.
37:23You're like an embarrassment for what you're supposed to represent.
37:27I'm not going to argue.
37:29I think the Mensa people should change the test.
37:31Because there's something wrong.
37:32You've made so many basic mistakes.
37:34Mr. Trump, the breakdown in this team comes down to we have a segment of people
37:37that always step up and lead the way.
37:39And when we win, you know, great.
37:41And when we lose, we always take the fall.
37:43And then we have another group of people that are wallflowers.
37:47They never step up.
37:48They never assert themselves.
37:49They never lay themselves out on the line.
37:50You don't fire somebody for that.
37:52He's a little bit of a politician.
37:53I think Lee is somewhat of a politician.
37:55I don't necessarily love that, but I don't hate it either.
37:59All right.
38:00I think Tarek has done an exceptionally poor job throughout.
38:05I really believe it.
38:06I think you're somebody with potential, but I think you've done a very, very terrible job.
38:11Lee, I can't tell you.
38:13I don't think Lee deserves to be in the boardroom.
38:15Thank you, sir.
38:16I don't believe he deserves to be in the boardroom for this task.
38:19I do think that Lenny deserves to be in the boardroom.
38:22It was his concept.
38:24He came up with the stowaway idea.
38:26Whatever it was, the person in distress.
38:28And when I want to go on a ship, I don't want to see a person in trouble screaming from the water.
38:32The concept was bad.
38:34The concept was Lenny.
38:35You didn't bring Lenny back to the boardroom.
38:37You should have brought him back to the boardroom.
38:39Dan, you're fired.
38:48I expected that.
38:50Thank you, sir.
38:53And tell Lenny he doesn't have long to go.
38:55Believe me.
38:56You can give him that message from me.
38:58Thank you, Mr. Trump.
39:00Thanks, Bill.
39:07Hey, Dan.
39:08Yeah?
39:09Good luck to you.
39:10Good luck to you, man.
39:11Good luck.
39:12Sorry, man.
39:13You do well.
39:39There was such a lack of leadership on this team.
39:41That was easy for me.
39:43I like Dan.
39:44I think he just made some bad mistakes.
39:46You think it was the right decision?
39:47I think it was the right decision.
39:48I feel good about it.
39:55I feel good about it.
40:26Next season, I'm taking The Apprentice to Los Angeles.
40:29Don't miss our nationwide casting calls.
40:32Go to the website below and find out when we'll be in your city.
40:38I couldn't implicate Lenny because the bottom line is we all agreed on it.
40:42Tariq made errors.
40:43I made errors.
40:44We all made errors.
40:45But you've got to take ownership as a team.
40:47And right now, I'm just excited about getting back to my family,
40:50my wife, my kids, my two little boys.
40:53Daddy's coming home, and I'm going to be eating you up.
